Nirvana changed the music industry forever when they released Nevermind 20 years ago today.

And now ... I feel ancient.

I remember being a high school senior in Seattle 20 years ago when this album was released.
I liked some of Nirvana's songs, but overall I personally didn't really like grunge music.

Nirvana was good, but I liked Alice in Chains and Soundgarden a lot more when it came to grunge music.

AiC was definitely my favorite at the time, and I never really liked Soundgarden. I liked some of the underground Seattle bands a lot too.

Soundgarden, Alice in Chains & Nirvana in that order is who I liked the most, but Nirvana had a huge impact for sure...

I always liked Nirvana (not so much the others) Saw my first video by accident and became a fan. Yeah, makes me feel old too realizing it was that long ago.

I never thought of Alice In Chains and Soundgarden as grunge bands, to me their sound was way more Hard Rock/Heavy Metal.
I liked Nirvana, thought Cobain was a good songwriter but Pearl Jam was the best band of that era IMO.
When Smells Like Teen Spirit came out, you could tell something big in music was happening. But grunge music was destined to be a short-lived genre. But we did have some great bands come out of that era.
Nirvana's MTV Unplugged session was really good. One of my favorite live performances ever.

I always liked Stone Temple Pilots the best of the Grunge era, but Cobain was definitely a pioneer. The fact that this was 20 years ago is very distressing, though.... how'd that happen?
It also reminds me how sad the music industry is today, when alot of current rock radio stations are still playing 90s stuff, since nothing has really come out since.
