I have to say, Music has mostly disappointed my lately... I feel like they're nothing new out there. Maybe it's just I don't know where to find it, but I feel like I shouldn't have to hunt, you know?
I defninitely see stuff I like on Havoc and Rob's lists... the stuff Havoc's got on there is what little there is of New 'Rock', IMO.
Anyway, last 10 Albums I listed to(in no particular order):
1. Adele '21' -- Reminds me of a British version of Christina Aguilera with all the vocal talent and none of the pop-tartness
2. Rush 'Roll the Bones' -- Rush is probably my favorite band of all time, never get tired of Geddy Lee
3. Evanesence - 'Fallen' -- It's really a shame Amy Lee vanished... I would have liked to her more of her.
4. Massive Attack - Various on You Tube -- These are the guys that do the theme song to House... I looked them up based on the theme song of a British TV show I like, Luther. Pretty decent electronica, if you're into that sort of thing.
5. Gatemouth Brown - 'Long Way Home' -- His last album (AFAIK) before he based away.. great old school blues man. This particular album is highlighted by his teaming with Clapton for a great verison of 'Blues Power'
6. Extreme 'III sides to Every Story' -- What can I say, I like Progressive Rock. I kinda listed to this by accident.. it was next on the list after Evanescence... but it's really a great concept album.
7. Stone Temple Pilots 'No. 4' -- STP is a close 2nd to Rush in my big book of bands I like
Sour Girl still gets me every time.
8. David Pirner 'Faces and Names' -- For those that don't know, Pirner is the songwriter and front man for Soul Asylum. They sorta fell off the map (their last new album was almost country), but this one is more Soul Asylum-esque. I saw them at a free show over the summer, and was in the mood
9. Toad the Wet Sprocket 'Dulcinea' -- I was mortified when my 20 year old little sister said she'd never heard of Toad, so I went home and took a CD out for her. They sound kinda dated now.. very early 90s.. but that was a good time for music, IMO, so that's OK
10. Billy Joel 'The Stranger' - I was a huge fan of Billy as a kid.. he was my first love, music wise. While I still haven't forgiven him for not making a killer album on his break up with Christie Brinkley, I still pop a CD in now and then
