Hey, just to be clear: that start time is 7PM eastern timezone, is it not? I'd hate for people to be there next weekend at the wrong time because they didn't factor in the timezone.

Correct ... 7 PM Eastern start time, with no more than a 3 hour run time for the tourney.

I feel like that really destroys the integrity of each character, possibly ruining whatever it is you are trying to test/gauge. Fortunately, we're not testing the mechanics of the characters, but rather the mechanics of tourney signups and day/time combinations; I've got a pretty good handle on how the character mechanics work at this point, but not so on when is the best day and time to regularly run a tournament. We plan on running one of these tournaments at least monthly, with different themes and rulesets for each tournament; what happens this month isn't indicative of what will happen next month. Seems foreign and awkward to test something using a technique that would never actually happen in the game. What seems foreign and awkward to you is what other people have done when running tournaments since the age of twelve. Po-tay-to, po-tah-to. If you don't think you'd have fun with this format, I'm sure another one will come along that will be more to your liking, as we plan to do this on a very regular basis. I guess it's possible after all. In the middle of my current super card and Monolith just swept all 4 Gladiators without adding any fatigue.

I guess it's possible after all. In the middle of my current super card and Monolith just swept all 4 Gladiators without adding any fatigue. I've usually found a similar thing. Most of the time, the guys that win do it with zero or one tokens on them. Carrying the tokens doesn't always have a huge impact on gameplay, but it makes for some fun stories. We ran an impromptu tourney on the first night of the Alpha Test with the 8 GWF guys, with carried over fatigue. The best story was Turmoil making it to the finals with like 8 tokens on him and being one notch on a PIN roll from winning it before ultimately losing. It's different, but I think they're both still good. This way rewards guys who win in dominant fashion and punishes the guys who just squeak by. It also tweaks the strategy a bit, as you'll probably avoid a guy who puts tokens on himself like Payback or Turmoil and maybe not go up to the top or out of the ring where there's a chance to pick a token up. Mash 'em, boil 'em, put 'em in a stew ...

Sounds like fun, sorry to say that my timezone will prevent me from attending!
