Rob, I wrote that I understood why they did it, not that I empathize or sympathize in any way. My understanding of why seems to be similar to yours. In fact, your last post pretty much indicates that without even thinking about it like that YOU understand why they do it, too.

Ya. My original ? was really rhetorical. Like, "WHY are you so stupid..." more than "WHY would you write that on your Twitter account..." I know why they do it, I just don't agree or believe in that at all. I def put more blame on the subject than the company in this type of situation. I thought that is where we differed. Maybe not. This has been a good discussion I think.

I am in agreement here and refer back to my last post about pro athletes who compare themselves to slaves. How can you be a slave when you are free to quit at any time you like? The ignorance of the meanings of slavery and freedom that these self-entitled people have redefined is almost puke worthy.

I do however agree with the first part of your post. Sad fact is the WWE has not been the same and probably never will be now that they are a publicly traded company. No longer a "wrestling company", the WWE has to keep a lot of different people happy, vs. just doing whatever the hell it is that they want. I think that is the real culprit here. I think this has a lot to do with it. Its not something a few really good writers couldn't fix, but these conditions aren't very conducive to an 'outside the box' creative atmosphere, and that's usually when WWE is at its best. Great discussion.

A lot of Athletes that claim to be "Slaves" claim that because they CANT just quit at any time.
They have very restrictive contracts that are nearly impossible to walk away from without some sort of severe penalty.
WWE performers are among the hardest working Athletes on the planet. They are on the road 4-5 days a week, with little or no time off. While with the company almost all of there time is scheduled by the company (House Shows, Autograph signings, etc). Some of the top tier talents are on the road almost 24/7. Doing personal appearances on their days off. That time of grind can wear down a lot of people.
As for Maryse she was a "Glammer Model" long before she signed with the WWE and has over the last few years become one of their better Women wrestlers, before her release of course. It's a shame she got released, probably mostly because "Creative didn't have anything for her."
But seeing as she is dating the Miz I can see her around the backstage area from time to time, when the WWE is the LA area. Unlike Melina who was released Maryse seems to want to move on to the next stage of her career. Whatever that might be. I for one am wishing Maryse all the best.

In reference to Maryse, since this topic started off about her release. There are alot of rumors as to what happened, none of know for sure as to why she was released. I can tell you that I have read several rumors that she did not want to wrestle anymore and wants to go back to modeling. There are several unconfirmed rumors that she has contacted Playboy about posing for them again, something the WWE wouldn't allow since they are a PG program. As for porn, I'm not sure how her boyfriend, one Mike "the Miz" Mizanin would feel about that. Somehow I doubt his response would by AWWWWWESSSSOMMME!
