FROM LORDS OF PAIN Mark Henry opens the show and wants respect for being World Heavyweight Champion. Henry says it was Big Show's fault he got kicked in the groin at Survivor Series. Big Show comes out and they argue. Show knocks him out with the WMD.
* Daniel Bryan comes out to cash Money in the Bank in. He pins Henry and the crowd goes nuts. Teddy Long comes out and says Henry couldn't compete due to injury so the title change isn't valid. Teddy gave the briefcase back to Bryan
Later on the show Daniel Bryan won a Number one contenders match and will now face Mark Henry in a cage for the belt
COMMENTS:Since when does the champion being hurt stop someone from cashing in and winning the title? That makes no sense

Now it looks like DB gets a "free pass" to face Henry and will come up short, but yet still have the MITB since he didn't cash it in. Lame excuse for the injury part, Jim...I agree.

WWE has become a pathological, lying child. They've done stuff like this forever (DX returning 'one last time' multiple times) but lately it literally feels like week to week booking by the seat of their pants. Brodus Clay will debut on RAW...never happens. Daniel Bryan will cash in MITB at Mania...now they've got him going back on his own word. Look, if you don't have the self-restraint and maturity to stick to your word, then GTFO and make room for someone who does. IMO this destroys everything good they had going with DB, saying he'd cash in at Mania. I was looking forward to that a billion times more than Rock vs. Cena (don't really care about this match at all unless Cena goes heel) and now they ruined it. FU WWE.

Ummmmm........I think it's pretty clear that DBD is going to be turning heel, and this is just part of it.
Also, it has long been part of the MITB lore that the champ has to answer the bell in order for the cash in to be valid.

Also, it has long been part of the MITB lore that the champ has to answer the bell in order for the cash in to be valid. Except that's never been the case. People have cashed in their MITB contract on people who were completely unconcious at the time. Being able to answer the bell is completely unneccesary for cashing in a MITB contract.

heaven knows how many MITB's have been cashed in due to injuries.

heaven knows how many MITB's have been cashed in due to injuries. That's not the point. The point in this storyline is that Henry was deemed "unable to wrestle due to doctor's orders" meaning because of the injury, he wasn't legally able to compete. It's not the same thing as being hurt or injured after a match. There's nothing to complain about here. The part to complain about is WWE ruining Daniel Bryan's whole character they've been building up since he won the damn thing. It totally ruins the whole "My dream has always been to Main Event Wrestlemania." That's a legit beef.

Agreed. Although they seem to have buried him since his 'firing.' I mean the crowd was truly reacting when he ripped apart Michael Cole, and they went nuts when he went to town on Cena. Now he's prancing to the ring all smiles like nothing happened.
They need to bring back the, 'Tap or Snap!' Danielson because this is getting depressing.

Anyone watch this last night. I can't tell how I feel about it. They did mention the WM stuff numerous times, so it's not like they just dropped that storyline. DB looked amazing here. It was kinda sad seeing him look legit thrilled to win knowing it wasn't going to stick. I feel robbed by that and kinda annoyed. A LOT of people (including me) have often wondered what it would be like to see DB finally win the belt and celebrate a legit childhood dream. To see them syke us last night, and ask him to act genuine about something false bugs me. But, like all things let's see where it goes. He's in the Main Event spotlight on SD now, so that's cool. If this is the beginning of his Mania push then I'm all for it. If this is just a way to get him away from the Mania Main Event I will be extremely disappointed, and file it away with Nexus and follow up of Summer of Punk as the WWE's latest unforgivable total botch jobs.
