LEGENDS TELEVISION presents LWF CHASE FOR THE GOLD: LEGENDSMANIA! SUNDAY, APRIL 1, 2012 SUN LIFE STADIUM, MIAMI, FLORIDA
Announcers: Jim Ross, Gordon Solie, Mike Tenay
***RESULTS***
LADDER MATCH -- LWF WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE JOHNNY SAINT beat BOBBY FULTON (Bootleg), HOT STUFF EDDIE GILBERT, PEPPER GOMEZ, SABU, TIGER MASK, MAD DOG VACHON & JACK VENENO (Bootleg) to win the vacant title. At one point, Vachon jumped full force with a Double Foot Stomp off the ladder onto Gomez’s stomach. But, Gomez popped right up and rammed Vachon headfirst into the ladder. It ended up with Saint and Gilbert fighting at the top of the ladder. Both men grabbed the belt, but they dropped it, and it fell to the mat. Both men jumped down after it, and the other competitors dove for the belt as well. It took several referees to untangle the pile, much like a fumble in football. When they cleared everything up, Saint had possession of the belt, so he was declared the winner and new champion.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) beat TONY PARISI (Bootleg) with the Bockwinkel Sleeper finisher to advance to the semifinals.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH KEVIN SULLIVAN (w/ April Hunter) beat BOB ORTON SR. with a Running Forearm to advance to the semifinals. As soon as the match was over and Sullivan and Hunter were walking to the back, Jazz ran out and attacked Hunter. Security surrounded Sullivan and took him away from ringside, and LWF GM Bill Watts declared that the next match begins NOW!
MIAMI STREET BRAWL JAZZ beat APRIL HUNTER with the STF finisher.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH LEX LUGER (Bootleg) beat TERRY GORDY with the Human Torture Rack finisher to advance to the semifinals.
TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH KERRY VON ERICH (Bootleg) beat KEVIN VON ERICH (Bootleg) with a Sleeper Hold to advance to the semifinals. The match was very scientific and technical. Kevin charged at Kerry, who sidestepped, causing Kevin to ram the ring post headfirst, opening a gusher of blood. Kerry wanted the match stopped, but Kevin demanded they continue. Kerry put the Sleeper on his brother, and the combination of the hold and blood loss caused Kevin to fall unconscious. After the match, Kerry managed to wake Kevin up and help him to the dressing room.
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Champions ADRIAN ADONIS (Bootleg) & DICK MURDOCH (Bootleg) beat JIMMY SNUKA & CHIEF JAY STRONGBOW (Bootleg) when Murdoch beat Snuka with a Piledriver to retain the belts.
In the back, an ambulance was called for Kevin Von Erich, who passed out from loss of blood. When they loaded him onto the ambulance, Kerry wanted to go with him, but Watts persuaded Kerry to stay and wrestle in his tournament semifinal match coming up.
TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL MATCH KEVIN SULLIVAN beat NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) with a Sunset Flip to advance to the finals. April Hunter did not accompany Sullivan to the ring, as she was still recovering from the Miami Street Brawl with Jazz.
TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL MATCH LEX LUGER (Bootleg) beat KERRY VON ERICH (Bootleg) with a Running Clothesline to advance to the finals. Kerry seemed distracted during the match, and, after losing, he was taken to the hospital to tend to Kevin. The report the announcers got was that Kevin would be held overnight for observation but should be okay.
CHAIN MATCH The ONE MAN GANG (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) beat ANDRE THE GIANT with the 747 Splash finisher. In the match, Andre tried to clothesline Gang, but Gang ducked under, bounced off the ropes and throttled Andre with the chain. Gang then wrapped the chain around himself and hit the Splash, getting all of it for the 1-2-3.
LWF WOMEN’S WORLD TITLE MATCH Champion NORA GREENWALD beat PENNY BANNER with the Flipping Seated Senton finisher to retain the belt.
TOURNAMENT FINALS MATCH LEX LUGER (Bootleg) beat KEVIN SULLIVAN with the Human Torture Rack finisher to win the tournament and earn the shot at the LWF World Heavyweight title on next month’s PPV.
STEEL CAGE DEATH MATCH FREDDIE BLASSIE beat JOHN TOLOS. Inside the cage, the match could only end when one man was unable to get up by the count of 10. Blassie started out strong, quickly opening Tolos’ head up on the steel mesh. Tolos mounted a comeback, making Blassie bleed. Finally, with both men down, Blassie was the first to his feet over the blood-covered Tolos.
LWF CHASE FOR THE GOLD MAIN EVENT -- LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP, BEST TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS STEVE AUSTIN (Bootleg) beat Champion SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM (Bootleg) (w/ Captain Lou Albano) two falls to none to win the belt. Austin won the first fall with a Knee to the Head and the second fall with a Back Suplex. After the match, Graham offered to shake hands, and Austin accepted … only to kick Graham and give him the Stone Cold Stunner. When Albano climbed into the ring and started yelling at Austin, the new champ responded with, you got it. Next month, Austin defends the title against Lex Luger.

***RESULTS***
ELITE EIGHT MATCH TONY PARISI (Bootleg) (Elite Eight) beat LARRY HENNIG with the Cannonball finisher. Parisi faces another opponent in two weeks in the “Sudden Death” round.
Bill Apter interviewed Kerry Von Erich about the condition of his brother Kevin, whose head was badly busted open in the battle of the brothers in the tournament last night. Kerry said Kevin told him that accidents happen, and that Kevin won’t be able to wrestle in his scheduled Elite Eight match tonight. However, Kerry said that LWF GM Bill Watts has given him permission to wrestle in Kevin’s place tonight, provided that Kevin can wrestle in Kerry’s match next week. Kerry said Kevin won’t be here tonight, but he WILL be here next week.
ELITE EIGHT MATCH BOB ORTON SR. (Elite Eight) beat CAPTAIN LOU ALBANO (w/ Superstar Billy Graham) by disqualification. The moment Orton had Albano in trouble, Graham jumped up on the ring apron and distracted the referee, at the same time waving to the back. Out came the One Man Gang and his manager, Sir Oliver Humperdink. Gang attacked Orton, and the referee saw that and called for the bell. Gang went for his 747 Splash when Freddie Blassie ran out with a steel folding chair and whacked Gang across the back with it. Blassie then creased the chair over Gang’s head, and Gang and Humperdink hightailed it out of the ring. Orton faces another opponent in two weeks in the “Sudden Death” round.
After the commercial break, Apter spoke with Blassie, who said Orton was an old friend from St. Louis. Blassie called out Watts and demanded a match tonight with Gang. Watts said he would talk to Humperdink and try to persuade him to agree.
WOMEN’S WORLD TITLE CHALLENGE QUALIFYING MATCH IDA MAE MARTINEZ beat PENNY BANNER with a Texas Cloverleaf. Martinez will now challenge Nora Greenwald for the title at the next PPV, on Sunday, April 29.
The announcers said that Humperdink and the Gang agreed to a match with Blassie tonight in the Main Event.
Apter introduced the new LWF World Heavyweight Champion, Steve Austin, who thanked all the working people for supporting him, and now he’s looking ahead to defending his belt against another “muscle head,” Lex Luger, Austin said Luger’s just like former champion Superstar Billy Graham, “all muscle and no brains.” Austin promised to “open a can of Grade A whoop-ass” on Luger on April 29, “and that’s the bottom line, ‘cause Stone Cold said so!” Austin then celebrated with can after can of Steveweisers.
ELITE EIGHT MATCH PEDRO MORALES (Bootleg) beat TERRY GORDY (Elite Eight) with the Boston Crab finisher. Morales and Gordy will have a rematch in two weeks in the “Sudden Death” round, with the winner going to the tournament on April 29.

ELITE EIGHT MATCH BILLY GUNN (Kip James card) (w/ Road Dogg [B.G. James card]) beat KERRY VON ERICH (Bootleg) (Elite Eight) with the Standing Leg Drop finisher. Kerry was at a disadvantage with brother Kevin not there. Gunn and Von Erich will have a rematch in two weeks in the “Sudden Death” round, with the winner going to the tournament on April 29.
LWF MONDAY NIGHT WARFARE MAIN EVENT FREDDIE BLASSIE beat the ONE MAN GANG (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) with a Low Blow. Humperdink threw Gang’s chain into the ring. While the referee admonished Humperdink, Gang bent down to grab the chain. At the same time, Blassie, behind him, grabbed the other end of the chain and yanked upwards on it, causing Gang great pain down below. Blassie then wrapped the chain around his fist and gave Gang an uppercut to the groin from behind, and the big man went down. Blassie hooked the leg and got the 1-2-3.
ELITE EIGHT UPDATE Bob Orton Sr. and Tony Parisi will face new opponents in the “Sudden Death” round, while Terry Gordy and Kerry Von Erich will have rematches against Pedro Morales and Billy Gunn, respectively. Next week’s Elite Eight matches look like this:

ELITE EIGHT MATCH SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM (Bootleg) (w/ Captain Lou Albano) (Elite Eight) beat ANTONINO ROCCA with the Superstar Bearhug finisher. Graham is now in the tournament on PPV on April 29th.
LWF GM Bill Watts called out Eddie Gilbert, the new World Cruiserweight Champion. Gilbert assumed Watts wanted to congratulate him on winning the belt last week in London, but, instead, Watts chewed him out for throwing a fireball at Johnny Saint and using it to win the match. Watts acknowledged that the referee didn’t see it, and the referee’s decision is final. Watts also said he wasn’t a fan of stripping wrestlers of belts, preferring that they be won and lost in the ring. So, Watts said he’s ordering Gilbert to defend the belt in a rematch with Saint on Sunday night’s Chase For the Gold PPV. And, if Gilbert throws another fireball, he loses the belt. In the meantime, he said that Saint is in the building tonight, albeit with a badly burned face and wearing medically treated bandages, and Saint wanted a match tonight, a tag team match. So, he told Gilbert to get himself a partner, and they will face Saint and a mystery partner in tonight’s Main Event.
WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE QUALIFYING MATCH TERRY GORDY & BILLY GUNN (Kip James card) (w/ Road Dogg [B.G. James card]) beat BOB ORTON SR. & TONY PARISI (Bootleg) when Gordy beat Parisi with the Oriental Spike finisher. Eddie Gilbert came to the ring with his tag team partner, Chris Candido, and his valet, Tammy Sytch. Johnny Saint then came out, face covered in bandages, and asked for Gary Michael Cappetta’s microphone. He said he had time to think during the time he was in a hospital bed last week with severe facial burns, and he thought of having a tag team match so he could get both Gilbert and Candido in the ring. And, he said finding a partner was a no-brainer, because all he had to do was look in the Irish pubs to find the toughest man imaginable … a man who loves to fight…
LWF MONDAY NIGHT WARFARE MAIN EVENT FINLAY & JOHNNY SAINT beat CHRIS CANDIDO (w/ Tammy Sytch) & LWF World Cruiserweight Champion HOT STUFF EDDIE GILBERT when Saint beat Gilbert with a Double Arm Stretch & Cradle. Thus, a referee sat at ringside in addition to the referee in the ring. Saint’s face was still heavily bandaged. The match went outside the ring, and Gilbert pulled the bandages off. He then grabbed a cup full of beer from a ringside fan and threw it in Saint’s face, and the alcohol hitting the burns caused Saint to writhe in pain and get counted out.
