TAG TEAM MATCH The EXECUTIONERS (#1 [Killer Kowalski card] & #2 [Masked Superstar 2 card]) (w/ Captain Lou Albano) beat The MONGOLS (Bepo & Geeto Mongol) (w/ Nikita Breznikov) when Executioner #2 beat Bepo with the Backbreaker finisher.
ELITE EIGHT MATCH NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) (Elite Eight) beat HOT STUFF EDDIE GILBERT with the Figure Four Leglock finisher.
After the match, Ric Flair came to ringside and said that he’s the master of the Figure Four Leglock, and Bockwinkel is clearly just a wannabe. Bockwinkel said he doesn’t begrudge Flair his success, but Flair is a wannabe himself, following in the shadow of Buddy Rogers, the original “Nature Boy” and originator of the Figure Four. Flair suggested that, since neither man has a match scheduled for next week because they both won their Elite Eight matches tonight, they should settle their differences with a match in which the Figure Four Leglock must be used to get the win, and the loser can not use the hold for the remainder of his time in the Elite Eight. Despite Heenan’s efforts to stop him, Bockwinkel accepted.
LWF MONDAY NIGHT WARFARE MAIN EVENT -- LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The FABULOUS KANGAROOS (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan) (w/ Wild Red Berry) beat Champions the ROAD WARRIORS (Animal & Hawk) (w/ Paul Ellering) when Costello beat Hawk with the Boomerang finisher to win the belts.
ELITE EIGHT UPDATE Buff Bagwell, Nick Bockwinkel, Ric Flair and Tiger Mask all won their matches, so they will each face a new challenger in the next two to three weeks.
Here are next week’s Elite Eight matches: TED DIBIASE vs. Rikidozan MISSING LINK vs. Bob Orton Sr. JOHNNY VALENTINE vs. Freddie Blassie JACK VENENO vs. Abdullah the Butcher
Also, Nick Bockwinkel and Ric Flair meet in a Figure Four Leglock Match. And, the Number One Contender to the LWF World Heavyweight title, Kevin Von Erich, will make an appearance.

ELITE EIGHT MATCH ABDULLAH the BUTCHER (Bootleg) beat JACK VENENO (Bootleg) (Elite Eight) with the Elbow Drop finisher. LWF MONDAY NIGHT WARFARE MAIN EVENT -- FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK CHALLENGE RIC FLAIR (Bootleg) beat NICK BOCKWINKEL (w/ Bobby Heenan) with the Figure Four Leglock finisher. The only way to win the match was by using the Figure Four Leglock. Flair got Bockwinkel in the hold. Just as Bockwinkel was starting the reversal, Heenan threw in the towel. When the referee declared Flair the winner, Bockwinkel demanded to know why Heenan threw in the towel. Heenan said he was thinking about Bockwinkel’s chance at the World Title through the Elite Eight tournament, and he didn’t want to see Bockwinkel injured. Bockwinkel told Heenan he should have more faith in his talent than that. As a result of this match, Bockwinkel is prohibited from using the Figure Four Leglock for the duration of his stay in the Elite Eight.
ELITE EIGHT UPDATE Ted Dibiase won his match, so he will face a new challenger in two weeks.
Here are next week’s Elite Eight matches: BUFF BAGWELL vs. Kerry Von Erich NICK BOCKWINKEL vs. Tony Atlas RIC FLAIR vs. Iron Mike Dibiase TIGER MASK vs. Lex Luger

NON-TITLE MATCH LWF World Heavyweight Champion SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM (Bootleg) (w/ Captain Lou Albano) beat RANDY BARBER (Mister X card) with the Superstar Bearhug finisher. After the match Graham said he won this match without even breaking a sweat, and, “I feel like defending my World title here tonight!” That brought out Kevin Von Erich, who has a title match with Graham on January 29 on PPV. Von Erich told Graham that, if he feels so good, “let’s get it on RIGHT NOW!” Graham said, “Whoa, whoa, whoa there, hothead. I said I FEEL like defending the title tonight. I didn’t say I was gonna do it!” Graham went on, saying,, “But, I’ll tell you what. If you’re so gung-ho about meeting me in a match, I have an idea. Take a look at these guns here. (Flexes his right bicep.) You know, Von Erich, nobody has ever beaten me in arm wrestling. If you have the guts, Von Erich, why don’t we have an arm wrestling match, next week, here on TV?” He added, “that brother of yours, David, he couldn’t get the job done. And your other brother, Kerry, yeah, he got lucky tonight. He beat Bagwell and got in the tournament, but he’s never gonna get up to the level I’m at. And, neither will you.” Kevin replied, “Graham, this isn’t about David, and it’s not about Kerry. It’s about you and me, next week, arm wrestling. I’ll beat you, Graham, and, in two weeks, I’ll beat you for that gold belt!”
ELITE EIGHT MATCH LEX LUGER (Bootleg) beat TIGER MASK (Elite Eight) with the Human Torture Rack finisher. Luger advances to the tournament on PPV.

Atlas beat Bockwinkel? Wow, that's an upset. Luger and Tiger Mask would have been an UGLY match! I like both guys, but man that's a contrast of styles.

That's the beauty of sheer randomness. Sayama didn't quite kick the snot out of Luger, which would have been his only hope.

LEGENDS TELEVISION presents LWF MONDAY NIGHT WARFARE MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2012 US AIRWAYS CENTER, PHOENIX, ARIZONA
Announcers: Jim Ross, Gordon Solie, Mike Tenay
***RESULTS***
ELITE EIGHT MATCH KONNAN beat TED DIBIASE (Million Dollar Man card) (w/ Virgil) (Elite Eight) with a 187 to advance to the tournament on PPV. Konnan attacked Dibiase outside the ring before the introductions. Dibiase quickly recovered and put on the Million Dollar Sleeper finisher, but Konnan held on and reversed it, and then Konnan used his 187 to win.
ELITE EIGHT REMATCH ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER (low-b) (Elite Eight) beat JACK VENENO (low-b) with the Elbow Drop finisher to advance to the tournament on PPV.
ARM WRESTLING MATCH Per last week’s challenge, LWF World Heavyweight Champion Superstar Billy Graham took on the Number One Contender for his belt, Kevin Von Erich, in an arm wrestling match. Graham stalled and stalled before finally locking hands with Von Erich. When the match started, Graham took an early advantage and had Von Erich halfway down. Von Erich pushed back and got Graham past halfway. Graham came back and nearly had Von Erich down, but the title challenger summoned all his strength and almost completely reversed momentum on Graham. Just as Von Erich was about to win, Graham reached across the table and slapped him, and the referee called for the bell. Graham punched and stomped Von Erich, but, just as he was about to slam the arm wrestling table onto Von Erich, Kevin’s brother, Kerry, ran out of the dressing room, and Graham and his manager, Captain Lou Albano, bailed out.
After the commercial break, Bill Apter interviewed the Von Erichs at the interview stage. Kevin assured his fans he was alright and will be ready to take the World title from Graham Sunday night. Kerry, who is in the Elite Eight tournament, added that he wants a piece of Graham, whether he has the belt or not.
ELITE EIGHT REMATCH BOB ORTON SR. (Elite Eight) beat MISSING LINK (w/ Abdullah Farouk) by disqualification to advance to the tournament on PPV. Link hit Orton with a steel folding chair outside the ring to cause the DQ.
ELITE EIGHT REMATCH FREDDIE BLASSIE (Elite Eight) beat JOHNNY VALENTINE with two Southern Neckbreaker finishers to advance to the tournament on PPV.
SIX-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH The ROAD WARRIORS (Animal & Hawk) & PAUL ELLERING beat The NEW ZEALAND SHEEPHERDERS (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) & LARRY SHARPE when Ellering beat Miller with a Body Slam.
LWF MONDAY NIGHT WARFARE MAIN EVENT -- LUMBERJACK MATCH -- WINNER IS IN THE ELITE EIGHT TOURNAMENT SUNDAY NIGHT ON PPV IRON MIKE DIBIASE beat RIC FLAIR (low-b) (Elite Eight) with the Top Rope Knee Drop finisher to advance to the tournament on PPV. Predictably, wrestlers surrounding the ring got into a scuffle on the floor. As the referee tried to restore order, Virgil ran into the ring and hit Flair with a chair, setting him up for Dibiase’s knee drop. Virgil and Ted Dibiase celebrated with Iron Mike as he took the last spot in Sunday’s tournament to crown a new Number One Contender for the LWF World Heavyweight title.
ELITE EIGHT UPDATE Abdullah the Butcher, Tony Atlas, Freddie Blassie, Iron Mike Dibiase, Konnan, Lex Luger, Bob Orton Sr. and Kerry Von Erich now make up the Elite Eight who will be in the tournament on January 29 on PPV. The winner of the tournament gets a World title shot at the February PPV.
Also on Sunday night, Superstar Billy Graham will defend the LWF World Heavyweight Championship against Kevin Von Erich. The Fabulous Kangaroos defend the LWF World Tag Team belts against the Masked Executioners, and Nora Greenwald defends the LWF Women’s World title against Jazz.

After the match, Bill Apter spoke with Graham and Albano. Graham said he was in tonight’s Rumble Royale match strictly for the money, and to make sure there is no other winner who could challenge him for his belt. True to form, he called Graham a “pencil neck geek” and said if he won tonight, that means Blassie gets two shots at the World belt.
