I'm not sure of the comparative size of Filsinger Games to that company, though. I've been wondering about re-approaching the WWE for a very long time. Like Mr. Ashby said, the worst they could say is "no." But really, having a deal with ROH, TNA (ugh...), or ANY established promotion would be great! I think, above all else though, that if Filsinger Games were to ever pitch to a promotion, that the presentation would have to portray the game more as a new product for the promotion, rather than more editions for us.

We could put a proposal out there. I could do stats for every WWE wrestler and someone do the art... we send the product to the WWE as a prototype... I think it would be impressive! I don't even know if you would even have to do stats for ALL the wrestlers. Like, if you just went to the WWE with HHH, Cena, Undertaker, HBK, Orton, Edge, and Batista, but all done superbly (which we all know Filsinger Games could produce) I think that might work, too. Sort of like more quality over quantity for just the presentation. Don't want to inundate them with too much stuff right off the bat.

The fact that COTG/LOW has a 20-year-plus fanbase and track record, having outlasted all the others, should count for something in a pitch to a promotion and should be highlighted prominently if it were ever to go forward. Filsinger Games isn't a Johnny-come-lately.

I remember a few months back on the ROH message boards there was a topic by one of the posters about how much they would enjoy a fantasy wrestler game based on the guys from ROH. There seemed to be a lot of interest.

I wouldn't walk in with only art on the cards or use the current card stock they're printed on. It's a bit too different from Baseball Cards... It's what they would expect going in. So, I'd have nice baseball-like card stock that have Photographs on them. I'd have art cards (B&W and Color) for comparison though... I'd have a cost estimate between. This gives them options to what they like. In the end, they're going to want to approve all content on the cards. Don't worry about the moves... This is more design... and we have Ratings and Sim results to help back us our decisions there.

This is more design... and we have Ratings and Sim results to help back us our decisions there. We first have to assume that Tom would be getting the license from the WWE, TNA, etc, to produce COTG style cards rather then selling the general concept to the wrestling fed. We also have to assume that since we're doing wrestling in real life that are constantly photographed in color, the prototype needs to be photographs in color, most likely on photo-stock paper. While I would have estimates in the back of my mind for B&W with the current card stock, I would only bring it up if they ask and/or if they wanted a history of the game. Next, they're going to want to know WHY and HOW the game is fun. If the people in the fed have any marketing brains, they would want to see it played so you have to come prepared for that. In the end, I think this game is going to be a REALLY tough sell to a major wrestling fed. What I would sell them on is not the card game itself, but the game in it's COTGONLINE form. Your target audience going after the WWE or TNA crowd is going to be the teenager/college crowd who would prefer to do it online. Yeah yeah yeah, there's card games like Pokemon and Yugi-oh, but you had a massively popular TV show to back that up. Anyway, get COTGONLINE as perfect as you can get it, then try to get that sold, preferably with a monthly subscription fee that gives you all the WWE cards you need (along with tweaks to wrestlers when they happen). You can offer tournaments, leagues, and such... this happened with a collectible card game for the WWE before, but it ultimately failed. However, a non-collectible subscription based game could work out well.

Good post, alot of valid points, but WWE has very popular shows to promote the cards on too. Also, I think the best approach would to have all versions available, so that way they can see the options. While CotgOnline is great, it would need alot of work to ever handle the things in which you're speaking. Those things are a long way away from happening and should be mentioned, but currently the cards/dice should be the focal point. And alot of their demographic; men ages 18-34 are not teenager or college students, in fact that would leave generally the majority of their demographic as young to middle aged men, not in school. From the ages of 23-34 effects alot more then 18-22, just a thought.

I've talked to a few people and I'm pretty sure Tom could strike a deal with ROH if he really pursued it.

I've talked to a few people and I'm pretty sure Tom could strike a deal with ROH if he really pursued it. That would be really awesome, especially since if ROH was selling the cards at shows, people who maybe don't go to Comic Con or the like would be exposed. The last show in Danbury had a bunch of kids there and while this game may not be aimed at them, kids (tend to ) love collecting cards and such. I would love to have more ROH guys.
