Very true Kamala. And an even tougher match with Andre awaits Muraco if he can advance over Inoki. Antonio Inoki (32) v. Don Muraco (33) w/Captain Lou Albano We get a “beach bum” chant before the bell that has Muraco & Albano losing their minds. It is all Muraco early on. An over the shoulder backbreaker sets up a HAWAIIAN HAMMER for a near fall (R10/P4). Muraco maintains the advantage during a brawl on the floor and hits a second HAWAIIAN HAMMER for a 1 count (R12/P5). Muraco sends Inoki into the ring steps and the Japanese legend is nearly counted out of the ring (R6/P4). Inoki finally breaks through with a series of top rope knee drops but the advantage is short lived. Muraco continues to punish Inoki in and out of the ring but takes things too far when he runs Inoki into the ringside rails and is disqualified. Inoki advances despite having been dominated in the match. Albano and Muraco are livid and tear up ringside. Muraco with a real bad draw matchup wise even If he would of beat Inoki..........guess it is time to head back to Sunset Beach, Hawaii

Thank you everyone for the comments. Now onto the next match....
Road Warrior Hawk (17) w/Paul Ellering v. Ivan Koloff(48) w/Captain Lou Albano
These two powerhouses spent several years feuding in a tag team war throughout the NWA and now meet again in the opening round of the tournament. Hawk wins the initial shoving match and we are underway. The Road Warrior gains control with a series of suplexes that has Koloff winded. Hawk takes flight with a FLYING CLOTHESLINE and we have our first clean finish of the tournament (R3/P4).
Up next... George Hackenschmidt (16) v. John Pesek (49)

George Hackenschmidt (16) v. John Pesek (49)
Wrestling was more about the mat game rather than television rankings when these two dominated the squared circle. A handshake gets things started and the fans settle in. Pesek takes the early lead and gets the first pin attempt with a lateral press keylock. Pesek maintains the advantage but cannot get the submission with a DOUBLE WRISTLOCK (R9/P3). Hackenschmidt finally makes uses of his power but Pesek is able to once again bring the match to the mat and dominates. Pesek transitions a waistlock slam into a DOUBLE WRISTLOCK and this time Hackenschmidt has no counter. We have our first upset of the tournament. (R2/P4)
Up next... Bobo Brazil (9) v. Mad Dog Vachon (56)

Thanks for the comments jmelton, cc and kamala. Glad everyone seems to be enjoying the action so far.
Bobo Brazil (9) v. Mad Dog Vachon (56)
Brazil is epically over with the fans and he takes several minutes to greet his supporters on the way to the ring. With two brawlers in the ring the action was intense from the opening bell. Both men eat the ring post early on and the blood is flowing. Brazil squeezes some the crimson out of Vachon with a bear hug but Vachon manages to punch free (R4/P3). The action goes in and out of the ring. Brazil wins a battle on the floor and then drops Vachon for a 1 count with a COCO BUTT (R12/P4). Vachon kicks out after a second COCO BUTT (R8/P5) before Brazil backdrops him to the floor. Outside, Vachon wins a brawl and then brings the match back into the ring planting his opponent with a PILEDRIVER for a 2 count (R7/P3). Vachon mounts the corner and hits a very awkward looking cross body block. 1, 2, 3 (R2/P2). The winner of the tournament 1 is out in the first round via cats eyes!
Up Next... Steve Williams (24) v Ted DiBiase (41)

The action is moving fast and I'm really enjoying the tournament. Bobo Brazil being ousted was a shocker but Mad Dog Vachon is as tough as they come. Pesek over Hackenschmidt was another upset. Really looking forward to Doc against Dibiase.
