Thank you Lord H, Kamala and Sinclair. Agreed, the second round should be a lot of fun.
Mr. Saito (29) v. Pepper Gomez (36)
Gomez gets a huge pop from ringside as he makes his way to the ring. Saito’s power rules early on but Gomez is able to gain the upper hand on the floor and goes for the win with a MEXICAN CRADLE (R8/P3) and then follows immediately with a second (R6/P4) and nearly gets the win. It is all Gomez including a Mexican Leap and a series of sleeper holds. Saito is able to counter an attack on the floor and rocks Gomez for a near fall with a SAITO SUPLEX (R8/P3). Gomez is stunned and Saito capitalizes with a SCORPION LEGLOCK for the win (R3/P4). Up next . . . . Johnny Valentine (20) v. Jim Londos (45)

It was cool to see Mr. Saito with a clean win over Pepper Gomez and Danielson over Lincoln was a great bout as well. I'm going with Londos over Valentine in the next bout. Keep the action coming!

Johnny Valentine (20) v. Jim Londos (45)
Jim Londos remains one of the most popular competitors in the squared circle. Johnny Valentine… not so much. Handsome Johnny is able to get the early advantage and forces Londos outside after a forearm hammer. Back in the ring, Valentine gets the first near fall with an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER (R7/P1). Londos gets tangled in the ropes and Valentine moves in hammering away on his helpless opponent. The official steps in but gets nailed with an elbow by Valentine. The official has a bloody lip and quickly singles for a disqualification. Valentine is not pleased but he is out in the first round for the third straight tournament.
Terry Gordy (13) v. The Sheik (52) w/Abdullah Farouk
Just thought I would let everyone know that I have been battling the flu all week. Fever, chills, the works. It might be a couple of days before I am able to get back to the tournament.

Thank you for all the best wishes. Pneumonia is not fun. Rolling the dice is however so here we go again…
Terry Gordy (13) v. The Sheik (52) w/Abdullah Farouk
Sheik plus Gordy equals violence! Things break down almost immediately as the action goes to the floor. Sheik wins the first brawl at ringside and during a second exchange outside he smashes Gordy with a chair shot and the referee calls for a disqualification. Security floods ringside to pull the two men apart leaving the fans wanting so much more. Bruiser Brody (12) v. Bobby Eaton (53) w/Jim Cornette
