It is once again time for the 64 man tournament. The best of the Legends of Wrestling meet in a single elimination tournament. Last tournament, Nick Bockwinkel stunned Andre The Giant in the finals in an epic encounter. In the first event, Bobo Brazil defeated Killer Kowalski to claim the title of best in LOW. Yukon Eric, Bob Orton Sr, Ox Baker, Jimmy Valiant, Al Snow and Angelo Mosca have not qualified this time around. There will be Giants, Wildfires, Blackjacks and even a vastly improved American Dragon. Who will win? Check back on Monday as the action gets underway.

Thanks CC. Andre is likely a smart pick but you never know where the dice will take you.
Andre The Giant (1) v. Bob Roop (64) The fans are on their feet for the Giant as he makes his way to the ring. Roop stuns the Giant early on with a dropkick but soon bails to the floor after a body slam. Andre comes out after him but a chop misses and Andre strikes the ringpost! Andre recovers reasonably well and we get all the classic Andre power moves as Roop looks helpless in the ring against the Giant. Andre connects with a sitdown splash that shakes the ring. A turnbuckle squash gives Andre a two count (R8/4). Roop slows thing down by bailing to the floor several times until he is finally able to trip up the Giant from the outside and then he rams Andre’s leg into the ringpost. The referee has had enough and disqualifies Roop. Andre was never really in trouble tonight and the fans had a hard time accepting Roop had any chance at all.
Up next...Antonio Inoki (32) v. Don Muraco (33) w/Captain Lou Albano

Very true Kamala. And an even tougher match with Andre awaits Muraco if he can advance over Inoki.
Antonio Inoki (32) v. Don Muraco (33) w/Captain Lou Albano
We get a “beach bum” chant before the bell that has Muraco & Albano losing their minds. It is all Muraco early on. An over the shoulder backbreaker sets up a HAWAIIAN HAMMER for a near fall (R10/P4). Muraco maintains the advantage during a brawl on the floor and hits a second HAWAIIAN HAMMER for a 1 count (R12/P5). Muraco sends Inoki into the ring steps and the Japanese legend is nearly counted out of the ring (R6/P4). Inoki finally breaks through with a series of top rope knee drops but the advantage is short lived. Muraco continues to punish Inoki in and out of the ring but takes things too far when he runs Inoki into the ringside rails and is disqualified. Inoki advances despite having been dominated in the match. Albano and Muraco are livid and tear up ringside.

I was pulling for Muraco but Inoki is hard to beat. Andre winning was no surprise but Roop held his own. Inoki vs. Andre is going to be awesome.
