The action is moving pretty quick, cool to see Fuji & Saito advance on a DQ and the Love Brothers got by a game team of the Killer Bees. I expected a solid match from Bastien & Gomez and Lyons & Robertson and was not disappointed. Nice also to see two clean finishes in a row.

Thanks Crue. The first round did fly by. Now onto round two.
The Crocket Cup was traditionally held in two sessions either over two days or in an afternoon/evening session with the first two rounds taking place in the first event and the balance of the tournament taking place on the second show. To reflect this, teams who competed in the opening round will have their pins increased by one in the second round of the tournament.
Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) (1) w/Paul Ellering v. Jimmy & Johnny Valiant (16) w/Captain Lou Albano
Johnny Valiant lasts only one move in the ring with Animal before asking for the tag and Jimmy Valiant does not fare any better finding himself down on the mat for a one count (R10/P4) after a flying shoulder ram. The Warriors hit the DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Johnny Valiant jumps into the ring and connects with an elbow to Animal’s head before Hawk can cut him off. Albano is in the ring followed by Ellering and it is a pier six brawl. Jimmy Valiant is able to take out Animal with a low blow as the referee restores order. Animal stumble to his feet only to be knocked back down by a deathjump clothesline from Jimmy Valiant. Johnny tags and the Valiant Brothers hit Animal with a TOP ROPE ELBOW. Animal is beaten but Ellering causes a distraction to keep his team in the tournament. Johnny Valiant downs Animal with a SPINNING NECKBREAKER but Hawk makes the save. Johnny with another SPINNING NECKBREAKER but this time Animal kicks out (R9/P6). The fans cannot believe that the top seeds are in this much trouble. Jimmy Valiant is in and finishes Animal with a SUPER ELBOW (R7/P8). The Warriors go out cleanly in the second round.

I have to agree it was shocking to see the Road Warriors go out in the second round but the Valiant Brothers were able to beat them in your LOW fed and they did it again here. Kidus to Handsome Jimmy, Luscious Johnny, and Captain Lou for pulling off a big upset.

Thanks Show, Kamala and Crue for the feedback. The Warriors going out was a shocker but as Crue noted, the Valiant Brothers did have some success against Hawk & Animal in my LOW fed.
Giant Baba & The Destroyer (8) v. Hamilton Wrecking Crew (John & Chris Tolos) (9)
With the top seeds out of the tournament, the top half of the draw is suddenly wide open. There is a Puroresu ceremony for Baba & The Destroyer that is interrupted by the Tolos Brothers and the fans are livid. The tactic works as Baba is too fired up early and is cut off from this corner. Both Tolos Brothers work over their larger opponent including two separate brutal double team beat downs. Destroyer is finally able to get into the match but the Tolos Brothers stop him with a double kick to the stomach and John Tolos then connect with a FLYING KNEE DROP for the shocking win (R4/P4). Two big upsets in a row!
If the first round was the round of DQs, will the 2nd round be the round of upsets?

WOW! Two big upsets in the 2nd round. I was betting on the Warriors in the final four. I think now it could be the Kangaroos taking home the cup.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Things are looking more interesting as each match passes.
Jimmy Snuka & Don Leo Jonathan (4) v. James Gang (Kip James & B. G. James) (13)
All four of these men have competed as faces and heels in their career so this one could be interesting. Snuka takes it to B. G. James early with a series of chops and a backbreaker that sets up a SUPERFLY LEAP. James rolls clear and the Superfly crash and burns. Kip James is in and runs Snuka into the ringside table. The James Gang double up for a spike pildriver on Snuka. Jonathan gets in to the match against Kip James and the momentum changes. James is able to catch Jonathan going to the top of the corner and tosses the 6’9” Mormon to the mat. B. G. James goes to work on Jonathan including a Shake, Rattle & Roll Knee Drop that gets a nice reaction from ringside. Jonathan catches a charging James with an elbow to the chest in the corner and tags in Snuka who runs James into the ringside table. Back inside, James becomes tangled in the ropes and Snuka moves in with a series of headbutts. The referee steps in but Snuka shoves the official to the mat and another top seed is out of the tournament as the referee makes the disqualification call. Jonathan is not impressed after the match and questions Snuka’s actions while The James Gang slip to the back and onto the next round.
