Great action on the last card. Konnan debut's with a strong victory, the Main Event ends up in chaos. Looking forward to the PG 13/Midnight Express ladder match.

Really liked the 6-man match but MotN has to go to the wild main event! Rogers and Gotch put on a helluva show!

Thank you CC, Crue, Sinclair, Ace and LH for the feedback. I have really enjoyed the Rogers - Gotch feud and really cannot wait to see which direction it will go next.
The Tumbling Dice: Thought I would share some inspiration for the heel turn by Orton & DiBiase. I just finishing reading Greg Olivers “Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame – The Heels” that talks about Orton teaming with Rogers in the North East but Orton having nothing really good to say about the Nature Boy as a person. Orton and DiBiase were some of the best heels of their day so I decided to make the switch and align them with Rogers and Fyne. Great book in a fantastic series. Well worth the money.
News and Views: Eddie Fyne’s first action as the new manager for Bob Orton Sr and Iron Mike DiBiase was to demand a WWL Tag Team Title shot for his clients but the Commissioner dismissed the request outright telling Fyne his team can earn their shots just like every other team in the federation . . . Ed Lewis continues to struggle . . . Jim Powers is quickly moving up the rankings with another stunning victory over Larry Hennig . . . .The rematch between Buddy Rogers & Frank Gotch will headline the October 18 card at Toronto Maple Leafs Gardens under Lumberjack Rules
Up Next, we World Wrestling Legends heads to the Civic Center in Baltimore, MD for another night of action featuring the following bouts: • Sabu will look to start some momentum when he meets Cousin Luke • In a battle of heavyweights, Hillbilly Jim has signed to face Butcher Vachon in singles action • In a rematch from the Tag Team Title Tournament, The Armstrongs take on Nigel McGuinness & Johnny Saint • Brodie Lee battles Mad Dog Vachon in what should be a wild affair • Mike Quackenbush will be in action against Austin Aries • In a return match from the first card, Jushin Liger meets Trent Acid • WWL Champion Frank Gotch will be looking from some payback when he teams with Rob Van Dam & Konnan and takes on the trio of Buddy Rogers, Iron Mike DiBiase & Bob Orton Sr. • In the main event, PG 13 faces The Midnight Express in a Ladder Match for the vacant WWL Tag Team Titles

Doesn't look like the dice were cooperating with you BB. I hate when that happens you think you have this great card lined out and then.... I did like the upset of Powers over Hennig. Maybe the dice will be more cooperative next time.

You are totally correct about the book, great insight on some classic heels. With the direction of todays wrestling the book takes you back to the days when there was more substance and enjoyment in wrestling. I got the book off amazon used for only acouple of bucks.

Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to share their feedback....
Card 06 –Baltimore, MD - Civic Center, October 11, 2013
Hillbilly Jim v. Butcher Vachon Jim gets the fans on their feet to get the evening underway. The big man from Mud Lick gives the fans plenty to cheer about in this one as he dominates the bout in and out of the ring. A series of BEAR HUGS slows the pace of the bout down but leads to the eventual submission win. Time: 1:38. * ½ Brad & Bob Armstrong v. Johnny Saint & Nigel McGuinness Handshakes all around get this match started and the fans show their appreciation for both teams. This one was chess match from the opening move. The Armstrongs seemed to hold a slight advantage at times but in the end the team from the United Kingdom was able to counter wrestle their way to a time limit draw. Both teams were only able to obtain one near fall each. The fans give all four men a solid ovation for their efforts. Time: 5:00 ** ½
Mike Quackenbush v. Austin Aries Aries does not appear to be in a good mood and threatens Gary Michael Cappetta but Quackenbush arrives to come to Cappetta’s aid and we are underway. Aries weathers an early attack by Quackenbush to make an impressive and dominating comeback. Two brainbusters really take their toll on Quackenbush who manages to escape a LAST CHANCERY but a 450 SPLASH ends it with authority. Time: 2:11 **
Rob Van Dam, Konnan & Frank Gotch v. Buddy Rogers, Iron Mike DiBiase & Bob Orton Sr. w/Eddie Fyne The fans are all over Fyne and his men as they make their way to the ring. Konnan gets cocky against the Nature Boy with a pair of slaps to the face and it proves very costly as Rogers is fired up and quickly plants Konnan with back to back piledrivers for the three count. No one else tags into the match. Time: 0:28. Dud
Bill Apter hosts the Hot Seat with a very agitated Ed Lewis who does not appreciate Apter’s questions about Lewis’ recent struggles to find success. Lewis threatens to show Apter what the STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK feels like first hand when Hillbilly Jim comes back to the ring to save Apter from being attack. Jim then challenges Lewis to match next week. Sabu v. Cousin Luke Luke has the fans on their feet again but many are concerned as he steps into the ring with Sabu however the fun loving hillbilly goes very well for himself early on. Sabu eventually finds an opening and back to back Air Sabu rocks Luke and an Arabian facebuster forces Luke to ringside. Sabu is out after his opponent and both men tear it up on the floor. The referee has no choice but to disqualify both competitors as they brawl their way back to the dressing room. Time: 1:31. *
Brodie Lee v. Mad Dog Vachon Lee has the distinct size advantage in the this one but Vachon is a tough as they come and he survives an early onslaught before assuming control of the action. Lee kicks out after a PILEDRIVER but Vachon dominates the balance of the action getting the win with a second PILEDRIVER. Real hard hitting action that the fans enjoyed. ** Time: 1:27.
Trent Acid v. Jushin Liger There is extensive international press at ringside for this one. A short Puroresu ceremony takes place before the bell. The speed in this one is off the charts. Really hot action from the bell with Liger in control early on. Acid gets the best of the Japanese legend on the floor and takes over. Acid hits back to back to back ACID BOMBS but Liger kicks out each time. The fans eat it up. The damage is done however and Liger never is really in the balance of the match but it takes some time for Acid to eventually get the win following a Yakuza Kick. Time: 2:02. ** ½
WWL Tag Team Title Ladder Match PG -13 (JC Ice & Wolfie D) w/Eddie Gilbert v. Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane) w/Jim Cornette Commissioner Charlie Cox supervises the hanging of the Tag Team Title Belts above the ring as the crowd buzzes. This one was wild with all four battling in and out of the ring. There was a great spot where J.C. Ice and Stan Lane battled on top of the ladder and the ladder tipped clotheslining Lane on the top rope. Wolfie D did sick looking colour after Eaton rammed the ladder into his face. The Express began to pull away from their opponents as the action went on. A VEG-O-MATiC put Wolfie D down and allowed Lane to climb the ladder and grab the belts. Time: 4:04. ***

If I figured it out right I went 4-2-2 with my picks. Not bad. Acid over Liger was a nice upset and the main event was off the charts with the Midnight Express winning tag team gold. Great show, bookerbill.
