Nuke that was one epic long shot so don't feel too bad. However, Andre has only reached the finals once so you never know what will happen. Bernard v. Saito is a real toss up for me.

Mr. Saito (32) v. Giant Bernard (33)
Two competitors who have made names for themselves on both sides of the world clashed in the next bout. Saito wastes no time in going to work and quickly positions Bernard for a SAITO SUPLEX getting a two count (R5/P3). Saito follows immediately with another SAITO SUPLEX for a 1 ½ count (R7/P4). Bernard begins to finally get something going but Saito has an answer to everything except for the ring post which he goes into shoulder first. Bernard connects with a Bernard Bomb for a 1 count (R7/P2). It is all Bernard at this point including a short arm clothesline that spills Saito to the floor. Back inside, another Bernard Bomb gets a 2 count (R6/P3) before Saito is able to catch Bernard on the top of the corner and toss him to the mat. Saito unleashes a series of brutal chops but Bernard no sells and connects with a bicycle kick that sends Saito outside. Saito drags Bernard to the floor and runs him head first into the ring post. Bernard is busted open the referee makes the first disqualification call of the tournament. Bernard moves on to face Andre the Giant in round two.
Up Next...Tommy Rich (17) v. Tony Atlas (48)

Great start to the action so far. Can't wait to see Rich v Atlas, which could be happening soon in my Stampede fed.
I feel bad that Honest Abe drew the Giant in the opening round. Sad to see Bernard win by DQ, but still glad he moved on to the next round. Sadly he runs right into the Giant.

Glad to see Bernard advance to round two. Going to be tough against Andre. Next match it's a toss up for me. I'd like to see Atlas advance but be okay with Rich.

Thank you for the feedback everyone.
Tommy Rich (17) v. Tony Atlas (48) Both men come out to a solid ovation from the fans at ringside. These two know each other well and a handshake gets the action underway. The exchanges early on are flawless and Rich breaks open the action with a right uppercut and they are off to the races. Both men brawl around the ring on the floor before the action goes back inside where Rich tries for the win with a WILDFIRE SLEEPER (R5/P2). Rich plants Atlas with a pile driver and then uses a second WILDFIRE SLEEPER but Atlas is too strong (R6/P3). Rich takes Atlas to the floor and out of frustration runs Atlas into the ringside rails. The bell sounds and we have two disqualification finishes in a row. Rich dominates the action but falls via disqualification.
DQ finishes can be frustrating. I really wanted something more from this match up but the dice are what they are. Given that Rich had wrestled as both a heel and face, I did like the idea of his temper getting the best of him. Next match.... George Hackenschmidt (16) v Road Warrior Animal w/Paul Ellering (49)

It was cool to see Andre, Bernard, and Atlas advance even with the two DQ finishes. The DQ has long plagued this great tournament but the action is always top notch. Looking forward to Hackenschmidt vs. Animal

George Hackenschmidt (16) v Road Warrior Animal w/Paul Ellering (49)
Battle of the super powerhouses is next but it is some speed that tips the scales early on as Animal scores with a roll up after avoiding a charge to the corner for a near fall (R9/P2). Animal shows off his strength with an overhead body slam that forces Hackenschmidt to the floor. Hackenschmidt regains the ring but the Road Warrior tosses him back to ringside. Frustrated, Hackenschmidt drags Animal to the floor and posts him shoulder first. Hackenschmidt earns himself a disqualification and traps Animal in a keylock armbar on the floor before leaving to a chorus of boos. Three disqualification finishes in a row have the tournament organizers nervous.
The next one has the potential to be a classic as Randy Savage (9) takes on Bobby Eaton (56) w/Jim Cornette

Randy Savage (9) v. Bobby Eaton (56) w/Jim Cornette
This is Savage’s first tournament appearance whereas Eaton has proved in the past he can go deep into this event. The Macho Man comes out strong but Eaton turns things round on the floor. A stinging right hand put Savage down for one (R8/P1) and Savage then kicks after an ALABAMA JAM (R8/P3). Eaton wins another brawl on the floor and then downs Savage with a top rope elbow. The fans can feel an upset in the making. The match goes outside once again but this time Savage gets the advantage. Savage hits the FLYING ELBOW DROP when the action goes back inside. Cornette cannot cause a distraction and Eaton is going home (R4/P6). Big comeback win for the Macho Man.
Up Next... William Muldoon (24) v Dan Severn (41)
