Randy Savage (9) v. Bobby Eaton (56) w/Jim Cornette This is Savage’s first tournament appearance whereas Eaton has proved in the past he can go deep into this event. The Macho Man comes out strong but Eaton turns things round on the floor. A stinging right hand put Savage down for one (R8/P1) and Savage then kicks after an ALABAMA JAM (R8/P3). Eaton wins another brawl on the floor and then downs Savage with a top rope elbow. The fans can feel an upset in the making. The match goes outside once again but this time Savage gets the advantage. Savage hits the FLYING ELBOW DROP when the action goes back inside. Cornette cannot cause a distraction and Eaton is going home (R4/P6). Big comeback win for the Macho Man. Yeah, this could be one of my all time favorite matches ever...

WOW!! 3 DQ's in a row!! Is that a new record for the tournament? Glad to see Animal advance, but would like to him do it by pin fall or submission. Glad to see Macho advance to the next round. Muldoon v Severn looks like a good one.

@ Low: Eaton v. Savage is an awesome match up. Glad you enjoyed the action
@ Nuke: DQs seem to come in batches. I cannot recall the longest run of DQs but it has to be close to three. My tag tourney last summer actually had a double DQ finish
@ Kamala: thanks for taking the time for posting during all my tournaments
William Muldoon (24) v Dan Severn (41)
An interesting matchup was next as “The Beast” tangled with “The Solid Man.” Muldoon looked very impressive early on and completely dominated the action on the mat and at ringside. However, Muldoon was not able to get Severn’s shoulder’s to the mat before The Beast was able to counter a backdrop attempt with a piledriver. A fireman’s carry slam sets up a run of offense for Severn. Muldoon uses his own backdrop counter to regain the advantage working over Severn with back to back spinning neckbreakers for a near fall (R9/P3). Severn kicks out after a BODY LIFT AND THROW (R7/P4) and Muldoon follows up immediately with another for a 2 count (R6/P5). The fans can feel that the end might be near as a suplex rocks Severn in the middle of the ring. Severn catches his second wind however, and begins to execute counters evening the action out once again. Muldoon uses a figure four leglock (ch) to force Severn to the floor. Severn drags Muldoon to ringside and runs the Solid Man into the ringpost shoulder first. The referee lets it go and the fans are all over Severn. Back inside, Severn attacks with WAKIGATAME but Muldoon is able to reach the ropes (R8/P3). Severn goes back to the hold again and Muldoon is able to again reach the ropes (R10/P4). A power bomb crumples Muldoon and he rolls to the floor. Outside, Severn gives Muldoon a fireman’s carry slam on the floor! Muldoon regains the ring to avoid the count out (R7/P4) before Severn tosses him outside again. Severn comes out to the floor and runs Muldoon into the post a second time but Muldoon reverses and Severn eats the steel. Muldoon cannot capitalize much to the displeasure of the fans. A pair of choke sleepers really weakens Muldoon and Severn attacks with a German suplex followed by WAKIGATAME. Muldoon draws on the fans support and hooks the ropes to escape (R7/P6). Both men are showing fatigue and the action once again evens out. Muldoon traps Severn in figure four leglock (ch) and then executes a perfect suplex that takes the wind out of Severn sails. A double shoulder lock follows that has Severn in trouble and the fans roaring. Severn manages to counter an arm drag with a shoulder throw. Muldoon is slow to recover and Severn traps him in a choke sleeper. Muldoon cannot counter and Severn moves onto the next round (R6/P6). Get ready to chant..... Bryan Danielson (25) v. Magnum Terry Allen (40)

Bryan Danielson (25) v. Magnum Terry Allen (40)
A handshake gets the action underway between these two crowd favourites. Danielson takes the early advantage but Allen is able to overpower his opponent to get control of the action. Allen shows he can fly as well with back to back deathjump smashes followed by a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX for a 2 count (R10/P5). Allen is in control when Danielson gets tangled in the ropes. Allen moves in and lands several punches earning some heat from the fans. The referee steps in and gets caught by Allen’s elbow. The official goes down and then calls for the disqualification. The fans cannot believe it and despite protests from both Allen and Danielson, the decision stands and the American Dragon gets the win despite being at a disadvantage for most of the match. Next ... Buddy Rogers (8) v. Johnny Saint (57)

Not a good way to win for Danielson but it's a win and and advance. It's a toss up for me for the next match.

Buddy Rogers (8) v. Johnny Saint (57)
Rogers draws fantastic heat from ringside and then turns things up a little bit more by threatening Gary Michael Cappetta but Saint comes to Cappetta’s aid and we are underway. Rogers weathers an early storm including an elevated surfboard to take the advantage. A series of dropkicks puts Saint down for a two count (R3/P2) and later the Nature Boy almost takes it with a pin using the ropes (R12/P3). Rogers is in complete control and catches Saint with a back elbow smash rebounding of the ropes and follows with more dropkicks for a two count (R11/P4). Rogers connects with an atomic drop but Saint is able to use a JOHNNY SAINT SPECIAL for a two count of his own (R6/P2). The advantage is very short lived and Rogers is back on his opponent with a jumping knee smash for a near fall (R6/P5). Rogers then applies a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE in the middle of the ring and Saint has no choice but to submit (R7/P10).
up next ... Rikidozan (4) v. Ilio DiPaolo (61)

Great action in the last few bouts save for the dissapointing finish in the Magnum T.A. vs. Bryan Danielson bout. Buddy Rogers with a strong win and Severn vs. Muldoon may have been the best bout of the tournament thus far. Savage vs. Eaton was stellar as well and is a great natural match-up. I'm predicting Rikidozan over Ilio DiPaolo in the next bout.
