Just catching up on all of the latest action and as usual bookerbill you have some great action going on. I loved that Thesz-Rogers match not to mention Bruiser Brody inserting himself afterward. Thesz is tough to beat but Brody has already done it once so could we see him score another win over the Canadian champ? Although I like both guys it was good to see Randy Savage score that win over RVD in what was a heck of a match. I also loved King Kong Bundy & Bobby Heenan picking up a tag win. The Ottawa show coming up looks great. Gonna echo the sentiments of our good friend here... But, also want to add that opening bout between Hennig and DDP was electrifying... And even though I was cheering for DDP, it was an excellent way to kick things off and get that crowd fired up... Good times!

Card 13 – Civic Centre, Ottawa, ON – June 24, 2018
Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré d. Marty Jannetty The Human Orchid took lots of time getting ready for the contest at ringside drawing epic heat. In fact, George took longer to get into the ring then he did to get the victory as Jannetty had zero offense. George used back to back ROLLING HIPLOCKS for near victories before getting the submission with a SPINNING TOEHOLD. Buddy Rogers b. Scott Taylor Taylor was unable to get the advantage in this rather choppy outing that ended with FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE from Rogers.
The Taylors (Chaz Taylor & Tugboat Taylor) b. King Kong Bundy & “Pretty Boy” Bobby Heenan The Taylors were looking to get their win back and wrestled a solid match keeping Heenan in the ring for a long stretch but they were unable to get the finishing blow. Late in the match, Bundy tagged in against a much smaller Chaz Taylor but Taylor was ready with his agility and put Bundy to the mat for a two count after a deathjump cross body block. Taylor made the tag and Tugboat Taylor pinned Bundy after an ANCHOR DROP while Chaz Taylor cut off Heenan from making the save.
Lou Thesz DQ Bruiser Brody The fans were shocked to see this contest in the first half of the night but were on their feet as Canadian Champion Thesz entered the ring ready for action. The champions agility and technical skill served him well from the outset as he was able to frustrate Brody and kept his larger foe tied up. Thesz scored with a dropkick that sent Brody spilling to the floor. Thesz follows and both men trade blows with Brody deciding to use his chain to clock Thesz earning a disqualification. Brody chokes out a bloodied Thesz much to the horror of the fans but security is quick to intervene and save Thesz from injury.
The Destroyer b. Bobo Brazil Destroyer is all over Morgan Dollar before the bell and Dollar is not impressed. The action starts off evenly and then Brazil begans to take over with his power. Destroyer survives a COCO BUTT and a Bobo Body Slam and appears to have run out of options when he is able to trip up Brazil from the floor and ram his knee into the ring post. With just one wheel, Brazil’s offense is compromised and Destroyer takes full advantage earning the controversial submission with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. “Macho Man” Randy Savage b. Rob Van Dam Savage started out strong despite most the fans being against him taking the battle to Van Dam. Looking for a break, Van Dam bails to the floor but when Savage comes out after him Van Dam trips over Dr. Mike Lano and Savage maintains the upper hand. Back inside, Savage nails a deathjump smash and follows with a FLYNG ELBOW SMASH to get the one side victory.
Diamond Dallas Page & Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering DQ Curt Henning, Ted DiBiase & Greg Valentine Page was cut off early on thanks to the swift tags of the Prodigal Sons. Page manages to make the ropes to escape a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK from Valentine before he is able to tag in Animal who powers his way through his opponents. DiBiase catches a break and gets the upper hand on Animal. Hennig later loses the advantage and Hawk gets into the match battering Hennig. DiBiase tags into the match and ends up in a brawl with Hawk on the floor where DiBiase drops Hawk with a chair shot earning a disqualification. After the match, the Prodigal Sons go on the attack and leave Page, Hawk and Animal in a heap in the middle of the ring. Commonwealth Title Match: Jimmy Snuka b. Harley Race to win the title This was a war from the outset including an exchange of wicked headbutts early on that had the fans wincing. Race took control after Snuka missed a SUPERFLY LEAP. Snuka went face first into the steel post and was quickly a bloody mess. He still managed kick out of a PILEDRIVER and a VERTICAL SUPLEX back to back before reversing a whip on the floor and sending Race into the post. Blood now poured from both men but Race kicked out after a SUPERFLY LEAP. The momentum went back and forth. Race attacked the legs with an Indian Deathlock but not before Snuka landed two deathjumps and a pair of flying headbutts. The brawled in and out of the ring as well before Snuka scored with a leap frog and chop which lead to another SUPERFLY LEAP and the title change!
History is made in Ottawa with The Superfly claiming the Commonwealth Championship from Harley Race in a very bloody battle. The Prodigal Sons continue to make their mark in Maple Leaf Wrestling once again leaving the Road Warriors stunned and battered yet again while Randy Savage looked unbeatable in his match leading many to speculate that it will be the “Macho Man” who challenges next for the Canadian Title. Up next, we head to cottage country for a Canada Day card from the Port Elgin Arena featuring the following matches:
**Redd Dogg makes his debut in Port Elgin against the devious Wild Bill White **Marty Jannetty will look to get back into the win column when he steps into the ring with Frank Dalton in singles action. **The battles between the Taylors and the team of King Kong Bundy & Bobby Heenan have gone back and forth and the two sides will once again clash in Port Elgin. **The Destroyer is making his way to the top of the rankings and will look to solidify his claim to a title shot with a final victory over Bobo Brazil but this time he will have to do it in a best of three falls contest **In the main event, Canadian Open Tag Team Champions will have payback on their minds when they step into the ring against Ted DiBiase & Greg Valentine after the Prodigal Sons have left the Warriors in a heap for two straight weeks.

Official Rankings June 2018 Canadian Champion: Lou Thesz (Can) Commonwealth Champion: Jimmy Snuka (8) 1. Harley Race (CW) 2. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (9) 3. The Destroyer (5) 4. Buddy Rogers (1) 5. Bobo Brazil (2) 6. Rob Van Dam (3) 7. Gorgeous George (-) 8. Ted DiBiase (6) 9. Bruiser Brody (10) 10. Diamond Dallas Page (7)
Canadian Open Tag Team Champions: ROAD WARRIORS (COTTC) 1. Greg Valentine & Ted DiBiase (1) 2. The Taylors (2) 3. Bobby Heenan & King Kong Bundy (-) 4. Randy Savage & Buddy Rogers (-) 5. Lou Thesz & Rob Van Dam (-)
Notes: Since dropping the deciding Steel Cage Match to Harley Race for the Intercontinental Championship back in May, “Macho Man” Randy Savage has looked unstoppable in recent outing including a series of victories over Rob Van Dam. Now with the support of the Prodigal Sons faction, will Savage be ready to take the next step and claim the Canadian Title from Lou Thesz? A competitor who might have something to say about that is The Destroyer who continues to impress and appears ready to put the challenge of Bobo Brazil behind him. In the tag team division, the Taylors and the team of King Kong Bundy & Bobby Heenan continue their series of matches in the mid card leaving the main event spots to the champion Road Warriors the Prodigal Son team of Greg Valentine & Ted DiBiase. It just might be time for promotors to look to some fresh faces in the tag team side of things.

Congrats to Jimmy Snuka on winning the Commonwealth title from Harley Race in a classic bout in Ottawa. I have to say that I love the teaming up of Randy Savage, Curt Hennig, Ted Dibiase & Greg Valentine as the Prodigal Sons and that was impressive what the latter three were able to do to DDP and the Road Warriors. Equally impressive was Savage getting another win over RVD and I look forward to the "Macho Man" challenging Lou Thesz for the Canadian title. Great action as always bookerbill.

Card 14 – Port Elgin Arena, The Town of Saugeen Shores, ON – July 1, 2018
It is Canada’s birthday and what better way to end the days celebrations then some Maple Leaf Wrestling! Everyone is in a festive mood in the arena. Bell Time!
Bruiser Costa b. Ron Hutchison Not much of an opener as Costa dominated the action from bell to bell using a series of cobra clutch suplexes to get the win. Redd Dogg b. Wild Bill White The fans were treated to a intense battle from the opening bell as White was not about to give Dogg an easy welcome to Maple Leaf Wresting. Dogg really struggled to maintain any offensive flow and White was able to take the fight to his opponent in and out of the ring. A RUNNING POWER SLAM nearly gave White the upset victory midway through the contest. They battled outside where White made use of Dr. Mike Lano’s camera choking out Dogg with the strap drawing great heat in the process. Back inside, Dogg managed to survive, barely, another RUNNING POWER SLAM before mounting a comeback that started when he countered a deathjump attempt with a superplex and ended with a BLACKOUT. Pampero Firpo b. Blue Meanie Morgan Dollar had strict instructions for both competitors before the bell. Meanie started strong including an early avalanche that connected and a body slam that picked up a near fall. Firpo was able to counter a short arm clothesline and used a head butt followed by a running body slam to knock the wind from his foe. EL GARFIO followed and that was it. Frank Dalton b. Marty Jannetty Dalton has some harsh words for Morgan Dollar before the bell and the official appears off his game as a result. Dalton capitalized and is able to brutalize Jannetty in and out of the ring as a result. The finish comes when Dalton shows up Jannetty with a cross body from the top which does not look pretty but gets the win.
Scott Taylor b. Lenny Lane The fans expected a fast paced fun encounter and they were not disappointed. Dollar had strict instructions for both competitors before the bell and the action started at a quick pace and only picked up from there. Taylor got out of some early trouble by blocking a head slam into the table and ramming Lane face first into the wood. Back inside, a two-handed bulldog earned a two count. The action picked up with Lane using back elbows and a bulldog of his own to punish Taylor. Taylor mounted a comeback leading to THE WORM to a huge ovation. Lane kicks out of the cover but Taylor has the momentum now. A superkick connects minutes later and sets up a second WORM to the win.
King Kong Bundy & “Pretty Boy” Bobby Heenan b. Taylors (Chaz Taylor & Tugboat Taylor) Chaz Taylor used his speed to get out some early trouble leading his father into action against Bundy including an incredible ring shaking power slam. With the fans buzzing, Heenan is able to sneak back into the action and choke out Taylor turning the momentum of the match. Bundy body slams Taylor once again rocking the building foundation. Taylor never recovers as Bundy hits the ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE for the victory while Heenan makes the pin save.
Two out of Three Falls: The Destroyer b. Bobo Brazil The opening fall was an awesome back and forth exchange of counters and blows. Destroyer was able to make use of his Bombs Away from the top landing three times on Brazil at various times. It took a toll and allowed Destroyer to get into a position to use his finisher, the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK, to get the first fall. Brazil comes out swinging in the second call and gains the upper hand after a brawl on the floor. COCO BUTT does not get the three count and Destroyer is able to slow the pace and grinds down Brazil with a series of bow and arrows working the upper body and sapping the strength from Brazil. The support of the fans does not save Brazil tonight and he loses in two straight after another FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Canadian Open Tag Team Title – Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering DQ. Ted DiBiase & Greg Valentine The Warriors came to unleash some punishment and they heaped it out on both DiBiase & Valentine. DiBiase was nearly counted out of the ring early on after a brutal assault from both Hawk & Animal that included a battering ram into the ring post. A bloodied DiBiase was barely able to get the tag to Valentine who could not sustain and offensive attack. Both sides made several tags and the action ended up on the floor where Valentine was able to backdrop Animal sending him crashing through the ringside table. Morgan Dollar quickly called for the bell. DiBiase and Valentine then turned their attention to Hawk but he overcame the double team attack with a double clothesline. The Warriors gained a partial measure of payback in the main event but they are far from satisfied so we can anticipate another clash between the two sides in the near future. Destroyer continues to look very impressive and may soon have gold around his waist. Up next, Maple Leaf Wrestling returns to the Civic Centre in Brantford for another packed card featuring the following matches:
**Diamond Dallas Page will be tested when he meets the former Canadian Champion Buddy Rogers in singles action. **Harley Race returns to action for the first time since dropping the Intercontinental Title to Jimmy Snuka in Ottawa when he faces Gorgeous George. Race already knows he will get his rematch for the Title on July 14th but he had better not look past the always dangerous George **King Kong Bundy & Bobby Heenan have been gaining momentum in their series of matches with the Taylor family and the two teams will once again meet. **In a rematch from a few weeks ago in Oshawa, Bruiser Brody will once again step into the ring with the always popular Bobo Brazil who has struggled in his recent series of matches with The Destroyer. Both men need the win to keep themselves in the contenders list so this should be a wild match. **In the main event, Lou These defends his Canadian Championship against “Macho Man” Randy Savage who has been nearly unbeatable in recent weeks

Some really cool action coming out of the Port Elgin Arena... Especially that brutal main event... DiBiase and Valentine pulled out all the stops, but the Roadies find a way to come out on top...
The Destroyer gave a really strong performance against Brazil... Looking forward to the rematch between these two...
And Thesz puts the title on the line against the Macho Man at the Brantford Civic Centre... Good times!

I have to agree with all of this as well as loving King Kong Bundy & Bobby Heenan picking up another tag win. Also seeing Bruiser Costa and Frank Dalton (over Marty Jannetty!) getting wins is great.
