The following was posted on HoDWrestling.com the week 0f 6/26/00
Ultramantis Black and Frightmare are together. UMB laughs and says he found it humorous the way Crossbones try to hide the truth. “The truth, Crossbones, is that you don’t have a partner for July 4th. He was honest when he said my tendrils run deep. There are people in this business who are controlled by Ultramantis Black that don’t even know they are being controlled. I wield that much power. Even though Crossbones understand this as much as his little mind can, he underestimates me. There is no one I haven’t thought of. No one I haven’t reached out to. This match is billed as a 3-way, but that’s a misnomer. Frightmare and I will be taking on Crossbones alone. Yes, I’m aware there’s another team in the match, but their insignificance cannot be overstated. Excalibur did me a favor my refusing my offer. Crossbones signed his own death warrant by betraying me.

Absolutely superb show with the definite highlights being your strong ability to write such entertaining promos... You capture the voices of different wrestlers (involved in their own scenarios) extremely well...
Totally looking forward to the July 4th show... Awesome work!

MASADA is in a bar. “What’s up, HoD? You haven’t seen much of me since I finished digging Necro’s grave. I figured I really didn’t have much more to say after that. I’ve been in a couple of fights in joints like this since then, won ‘em for what’s it worth. My gang was asking me what’s wrong. Then, my boy Chainz says “you’re itching for that big match with that Necro guy.” He was right. I’m ready to make Necro a memory right now. I’m jonesing to dump that carcass in the grave and pour a little dirt over him. So, I’m going to be at HoD Wrestling this Saturday. Necro, if you are what you think you are, show up too. Let’s give the fans a little preview of the main event on July 4th.” MASADA pours dirt from one hand to the other. “This is from your grave. Just a little. Just a taste. When I say taste, I mean taste. I’m not talking in symbols or whatever they call it. Before Saturday’s show ends, you will eat this dirt.

The following "Special Statement" was released on HoDWrestling.com
Petey Williams is with Bill Watts.
Watts: I'm going to say something that doesn't come easy for an old cowboy like me, and I honestly haven't said it much. To the fans of HoD, I'm sorry. Last Saturday nights main event with Petey and Tyler Black against Natural Selection was a farce. HoD should never have allowed it to happen.
Williams: Tyler shouldn't have been out there at all. His concussion symptoms had been coming and going. That morning, he was feeling fine. The headache started coming on mid-afternoon, and it got worse from there. Tyler never knew exactly where he was at any time after we got to the arena. The reason I was carrying on like I was walking to the ring gave him something to focus on. He was following me to the ring. The plan was for me to go bell-to-bell. Tyler was never going in. I didn't expect to get dropped as quickly as I did, but my concentration wasn't where it should've been either.
Watts: HoD put a lot on Petey that night, and it was unfair. I'm also apologizing to him right now.
Williams: We were all part of the plan. The good news is that since that night, Tyler's been fine. Maybe that was the dark before the dawn as the saying goes. He's getting checked out again later today.
Watts: While I'm well aware of the "card subject to change" clause on the ticket, what we did was outright fraud. Anyone who attended that show who wants a refund can get in touch with us through the website. One more thing, this issue is closed. I don't care that it will be called unfair by certain parties. No promos will be released regarding this match. If it is brought up in a live setting, then mics will be cut and we will go to commercial. Let's not mince words. Stu, you and the Family will not address this ever again. Thank you.

Heart of Dixie Episode 14 07.01.2000 from
- Opening Video with Homicide - We open with a video of the ring being disassembled. Homicide walks out.
"Yo' Menace. Take a look. We filmed this after last week's show. The crews taking the ring down, and if you look right here between the padding and plywood." Homicide lifts the layer of padding and there's the Menace's cane. He picks it up. "When you were doing all that X-men telepathical stuff saying you could "sense" the cane, you were right. It was under your feet, you dumbass." Homicide and the ring crew laugh. "What's really funny is that while we're filming this, you and Rayne are in the boiler room looking for it. Havoc's still trying to get out of that cart that Hyde dumped him into. I'm out this week, Menace, so your last chance to get this back is 3 days away. Seriously, though, don't sweat it. You ain't ever getting this back."
Arik Cannon vs. Jake Milliman Arik Cannon defeated Jake Milliman with a Saito Suplex Match Notes: Cannon gets the win, but it came with a lot more difficulty than an opponent of Milliman's caliber should have given him. The crowd turned on him during the match, and by time he headed to the back after the final bell, they were chanting "The End's Gonna Kill You/"
The Bravado Brothers vs. Hobo & Manimal Lancelot Bravado defeated The Hobo with an Up and Over Power Slam Match Notes: This was your typical enhancement match.
- Bruiser Costa - Bischoff is with Bruiser Costa. He asks Bruiser how it feels to be on the last HoD show where he will be called Bruiser. Costa turns like he's going to grab Bischoff, but backs off.
Costa- You aren't worth the trouble I would get into for slugging you, little man. I don't appreciate what you did last week when you punked me. You see, I knew Crusher wasn't here. Like I said, I've been keeping up with his whereabouts. Not because I'm worried about him, but I was thinking I might go to one of his appearance and sucker punch him like he did me.
Bischoff- He didn't punch you.
Costa-Ok, then sucker-headlock me. Whatever. The point is I owe him one. I'm going to do thing the right way and settle my business in the ring like a pro.
Bischoff: Interesting. Oh, hi, Crusher.
Costa: Do you think I'm really going to fall for that again?
A cloud of cigar smoke floats over Costa's head. Costa sniffs the air.
Costa: Is that his brand?
Bischoff nods.
Costa: So he's really behind me this time?
Bischoff nods. Costa turns to throw a punch and the Crusher catches it. Costa goes to his knees.
Crusher: I decided to spend a few days down South before the show, Beanie-Weanie kid. Yea, I heard what you said after I left I'm not that mean, though. I'll let you stick with Lobsterman after I beat you.
Crusher walks off and Costa crumples to the floor holding his hand.
- D. Justice/J. Lightning NC - Dick Justice and JT Lightning have been announced for the next match, and the bell has just rung. Out of nowhere, Necro hits the ring with a duffle bag over his shoulder. He dumps it out in the middle of the ring, revealing a baseball bat, a tennis racket, a keyboard, some brass knucks, and other items. Lightning and Justice look confused. Necro calmly picks up the bat and lays into Lightning. The bell immediately rings. Justice tries to help Lightning, but catches a bat to the face. After dumping Lightning over the top, Necro lays into Justice. When Justice goes down, Necro rummages through the bag. He yelling about his chain so he can "choke this fat bitch." He finally stops, "Oh, yea, my chain is in the back holding MASADA to the girl's toilet where he belongs." Solie says let's get a camera back there. The scene shifts to an ladies restroom with out-of-order on the door. HoD staff push it open and we see MASADA on the floor in one of the stalls. There's a chain around his wrist that's wrapped around the base of the commode. He's groggy, and there's a wad of toilet paper in his mouth. On top of that, the seat has been ripped off and is around his neck. Someone starts shouting for some bolt cutters. We go back to the ring where Necro has handcuffed Justice to the turnbuckle. Lightning is laying underneath half of a split table. Necro grabs Justice's American flag and begins choking him with it. Finally, MASADA comes down the aisle carrying the commode over his shoulder. Necro releases Justice and turns to face MASADA. He bails out of the ring when MASADA throws the commode over the top rope into the ring. MASADA takes off after Necro.
- Aftermath - The ring crew and medical personnel are both in the ring cleaning up and tending to the fallen Dick Justice and JT Lightning. Solie throws it to Bischoff in the back where he starts to recap what just happened. A side door bursts open and Necro comes through. He runs up to Bischoff laughing hysterically.
NB: Nope, no dirt in my mouth. You see any dirt? MASADA swore I would eat dirt from my own grave tonight. He didn't touch me. I beat those two losers to death because I could, just like I'm doing to MASADA at Hot Southern Night. There's nothing he or anyone can do about it because his buddy, the good 'ol cowpoke Billy Watts, said that it's all good. Well, all good for him means all good for me. Speaking of Billy, you all should've heard him crying when I put him through that board. You'd think barbed-wire in the skin hurt or something. Buncha losers. E, it's been fun for you, I know, but I got to get ready for the cookout on July 4th. And I'm not talking about hamburgers and hot dogs, either. I'm treating everyone who comes to see Hot Southern Night to seared MASADA!
DJ Hyde vs. Rex Havoc DJ Hyde defeated Rex Havoc with a Lariat Match Notes: Hyde wins the power match-up with a lariat that flipped Havoc completely over. Havoc had whipped Hyde into the turnbuckle, but Hyde came out immediately and connected with the lariat. The Dark Menace was nowhere to be seen.
Petey Williams vs. Brian Cage Petey Williams defeated Brian Cage with a Sharpshooter Match Notes: Great match. After the pin, Joey Ryan hit the ring and nailed Williams with the Moustache Ride.
Solie closes and sayd that he hopes to see everyone at Hot Southern Night. Check HoDWrestling.com for results first thing Wednesday morning. He says that there's one final surprise to announce, and that is that Cowboy Bill Watts will return on July 4th with a special announcement. As we fade, we hear a commotion and the camera comes back on a new scene. Necro Butcher is laying outside with his his forehead busted open. There is a thin layer of dirt all over his face. We fade on this image.

Hi- I'm going to "shoot" here, at least the Filsinger Games version of "shooting." Sigh....Those of us who have played this game any length of time know how fickle those little cubes with the pips on them can be. Whether physical or virtual, dice have sent the best laid plans out the window. If I had been using physical dice, they probably would've followed the plans. If you've been following, you may know where this is headed... I played my July 4th "Hot Summer Night" today. I almost broke my cardinal rule MORE THAN ONCE. The rule? The dice determine the outcome. You want to know something? I say this only half in jest. Our pretend booking is harder than real life booking...we can't control the outcome or how the match goes. Whereas real wrestling will rarely have its version of a Tyson fight from the 80s where you pay $50 and the main event is over in under a minute, that can happen to us. I guess I'd already gotten spoiled since it hadn't been a problem in the early days of this fed I've started up. Now that is has happened...yeesh! So, here's my dilemma. Part of "the dice determining the outcome" to me is the intellectual honesty that comes with reporting the results. Since I've gotten such positive responses so far, I want to maintain the integrity of the fed. I could tell you that a 3-move match was a ***** masterpiece, and you'd never know. That's not what I want. If it was a stinker then I want to report it as a stinker. I likely won't use that term in my official write-up, but the educated reader will be able to figure out what went on. Now, what I can do, and will be doing, is spicing up the extracurricular stuff going on around the match. I don't feel there's anything wrong with distracting the reader from the stinker match with some extracurricular activity. Kind of..."this match wasn't so hot, but all this cool other stuff happened before, during, and after...see! Anyhow, thanks for reading. I will be posting the show later tonight or in the morning...after I untangle some knots.

Taking what the dice give you and trying to craft the most entertaining storylines possible around those outcomes... As long as you're having fun, everything else is secondary... Short title reigns, squash matches, disappointing DQ decisions, low 'star' ratings... Make them work for you, my friend... Love what you've done in Heart of Dixie so far... Can't wait for what's next!

Hot Southern Night 07.04.2000 from
- Bill Watts returns with an announcement - After welcoming the everyone to the show, Jeremy Borash introduced Bill Watts. Bill's walk to the ring was slow and uncomfortable. He tried to climb in the ring, but after a slight slip, he moved to the steps. He chuckled and said that "I guess ya'll saw that." He said it was good to be able to be at an HoD event. He said that before he makes his announcement, he wants to clear something up. He said that he is not the owner of HoD. He's not even a part owner. He's an employee like everyone else. The owners decided that they wanted him to be the public face of the championship committee, and that's the extent of his role. He then thanked Bill Apter for filling in for him during his recovery. Now, for the announcement...."I'm retiring effective the end of this show. What happened to me at the hands of Necro Butcher can't happen again. If it does, my wife will put a hurtin' on me that will make Necro jealous. Who will replace me? We're ready to make that announcement tonight as well, but not right now. No more talking...let's hook 'em up!"
Scorpio Sky vs. Mister X Scorpio Sky defeated Mister X with an Ace Crusher-Dragon Sleeper Combo Match Notes: Sky wins easily. He could've won earlier than he did, but he toyed with X for awhile before finishing him off.
Rex Havoc came to the ring for the next match alone. He called out DJ Hyde. He refused to wait for a rematch. He demanded it right then. They announced the Hobo next and he came to the ring. Havoc refused to lock up. Finally, Hyde came to the ring and he and Havoc got in each other's face. Havoc told the ref it was Hyde or nothing. The Hobo stepped up to Hyde and Havoc and asked them if they wanted a 3-way match. He said, "I really could use the payday or I'll end up a real hobo." Hyde and Havoc looked at each other, simultaneously said "NO!" and then simultaneously slugged Hobo. knocking him through the ropes. Hyde yelled, "ring the bell or don't this happening."
Rex Havoc vs. DJ Hyde Rex Havoc defeated DJ Hyde with a KILL PREY Match Notes: Havoc evens up the series in a good match by submission. The Hobo never completely recovered from the shot, so he was still hanging around the ring in a listless manner. Havoc walked by him without incident, but Hyde clotheslined him out of nowhere as they passed at ringside. He gave him a couple of quick stomps before heading to the back.
During the break between matches, Watts returned and took a seat at ringside.
Bruiser Costa vs. The Crusher The Crusher defeated Bruiser Costa with a Body Slam Match Notes: The Crusher started out on fire. Costa came back with some solid offense that surprised some people. Crusher never really seemed in danger losing, however. There were a couple of times when the ref could've disqualified Crusher, but didn't. Crusher wound up for his big bolo punch finisher, but Costa tried to get away. Crusher caught him and picked up him, delivering a simple but powerful bodyslam. This proved enough to finish Costa off. Some observers on the front row reported later that Costa was fully aware after the slam, and chose not to kick out.
The ring attendant pulled a box out from underneath the ring. He slid it to Crusher who opened it. Crusher pulled out a red t-shirt with a picture of a smiling cartoon lobster wearing a cape. The back said, "LOBSTERMAN." Crusher told Costs he felt sorry for him, so he had him some merch made up . Costa jumped up and said "I don't need your charity," but grabbed the box and ran up the aisle.
Crusher then helped Watts enter the ring. Watts said it's time for part two of the announcement, and you've probably figured out who my replacement is. Ladies and Gentlemen, the new face of HoD, the Crusher!! The crowd chanted his name over and over. Crusher said that "one thing Bill and I have in common is that we both know there should be more wrestling than talking at a wrestling show. C'mon Cowboy, let's go grab a beer and a cigar and let these guys wrestle."
Joey Ryan vs. Petey Williams Joey Ryan defeated Petey Williams with The Walk-Off Match Notes: Ryan gets what the crowd seemed to think was an upset. After the pin, he told Willliams, "Pete, I said you were focused on the wrong things and now I just proved it. On second thought, I didn't keep you from a title shot. You aren't ready to be a champion."
For the next match, Ultramantis Black and Frightmare were intro'd first. Excalibur and Samuray Del Sol arrived next. For the final intro, Crossbones came out alone. UMB laughed and said "just like I told you." Crossbones said "you reach doesn't extend as far you think, Black." Crossbones introduced his partner, Blind Rage. Crossbones said that Rage has been away from the business for awhile, but he never lost the drive to compete." UMB simply replied, "well, that happened."
Before the bell rang, Borash said that he had one more announcement. The Crusher had just informed him that the winning team in this match would receive the first HoD Tag Team Title match versus the winner of the BLKOUT/Soultouchaz match later tonight.
- Tag Team Triple Threat Match - Ultramantis Black and Frightmare vs. Crossbones & ? vs. Excalibur & Samuray Del Sol Frightmare defeated Crossbones with a Frightensteiner Match Notes: Crossbones started out against Frightmare. After a brief flurry of moves, Crossbones stepped back into his corner to consult with Blind Rage. Rage threw a hard elbow into the back of his partner's head, then put his foot through the ropes and pushed Crossbones away from the ropes. Frightmare used a Frightensteiner for a quick pin. Everyone was a bit confused until Blind Rage entered the ring, walked to UMB's corner, and held the ropes for Black to enter. Black, Rage, and Frightmare raised their hands together in the middle of the ring. UMB said, "Guess what? I did see that coming. I told you Crossbones, NOTHING is out of my reach. All you common folk, worship at the altar of the ShadoWarriors!" Rage and Frightmare started to attack the downed Crossbones, but Excalibur and Del Sol protected him. UMB called them back to their corner. Crossbones left the ring without a word as Excalibur and Del Sol spoke to the ref and Borash. After a few more minutes, Crusher came to the ring. UMB said that he assumed Crusher had come to congratulate the #1 contenders and future HoD Tag Team Champions. Crusher asked him what you get when you assume, and the only ass you've made is of yourself. Crusher said that he isn't rewarding crap like Blind Rage and UMB just pulled. Here's the new plan. Rage and Frightmare will meet Excalibur and Del Sol right now. None of you have done enough to make me think you can't go. If these guys (pointing to E & SDS) win, they are the #1 contenders. If your Shadowhatevers win, and I don't think they will, we will find another way to get our contenders. UMB started yelling about that not being fair. Crusher said that "I determine fair," and left the ring.
The ShadoWarriors vs. Excalibur & Samuray Del Sol Excalibur defeated Blind Rage with a Tiger Driver '98 Match Notes: Excalibur and Del Sol win an exciting match and become the #1-contenders.
Tommy End seemed caught off guard by the fans somewhat positive reception. In the ring, he said that he's not sure what's changed since he left to recover, but that he's still the same guy. He will acknowledge that he was that close to losing to Johnny Saint and called him one of the toughest SOBs he's ever seen, regardless of age. At this point, Arik Cannon charged into the ring. He told End not to say Saint's name after the way he disrespected him all those months. End said "I can't not respect him now after the way he handled himself." Arik said, "shut your ^&&% mouth, End," and slapped him across the face.
Arik Cannon vs. Tommy End Tommy End defeated Arik Cannon with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster Match Notes: As much support as End had coming to the ring, he had more leaving. The fans seem to appreciate his efficient, high-impact dismantling of Arik Cannon. End didn't acknowledge the fans he went to the back, but before walking through the door, he gave a long look at the crowd cheering him on.
Before the next match, Borash announced that there had been some confusion as to the exact stipulation for this match. The contracted stipulation is that the match is over when the cane is removed from the pole by either opponent.
The Dark Menace accompanied Rayne to the ring, but the ref ordered him to the back. TDM argued briefly, but soon departed.
- Cane on a Pole Match - Michael Kai Rayne vs. Homicide Michael Kai Rayne defeated Homicide with a Rayne of Pain Match Notes: In what may be the most shocking ending of the night, Michael Kai Rayne used the Rain of Payne to slow down Homicide enough to allow Rayne to then go retrieve the cane from the pole. Shortly after the opening bell, The Menace returned to ringside with Rex Havoc. Havoc made himself very visible while the Menace stayed out of the ref's sight. After the ref sent Havoc back, he took his focus off ringside and the Menace moved about freely. The match itself wasn't very long. Homicide's fork came out early, and each man sent the other head-first into the steel pole at least once. The ending came about when Homicide was coming off the ropes. The Menace grabbed the ankles, and 'Cide lost his balance, stumbling into Rayne. Rayne cinched in the Rayne of Payne as mentioned, and held it until Homicide's struggling subsided. Rayne then released the hold and quickly climbed the pole to grab the cane. TDM entered the ring and grabbed the cane from Rayne. He went over to where Homicide was slowly getting to his feet and brandished the cane in his face. Rayne gave 'Cide a couple of quick stomps to keep him down. Then, it got strange. Rex Havoc entered the ring behind the Menace. He grabbed the cane, moved to the steel pole, and smacked the cane against the pole. The cane broke, with the top half flying off into the audience. Rayne and The Menace didn't move. Havoc looked with shock at the piece of cane still in his hand and then collapsed in the corner, seemingly unconscious. The Menace picked up part of the broken cane. Rayne looked at him, and TDM motioned for them to go. The ring rapidly filled up with medical personnel. After a few minutes, Borash announced that there would be an unscheduled intermission. Another few minutes later, Havoc was taken off on a gurney, still unconscious.
- Final Battle! To Determine the 1st HoD Tag Team Champions - BLKOUT vs. Da' Soultouchaz Joker defeated Marshe Rockett with a Cross-body Counter Match Notes: A very good series of matches dating back to the first day of HoD ends on a strong note. It is BLKOUT that win the match and become the first HoD Tag Team Champions. Borash hands the brand-new title belts.
BLKOUT won the HoD Tag Team Championship
- Steel Cage Match to Determine the Co-#1 Contender to the HoD Championship - Donovan Dijak vs. Tyler Black Tyler Black defeated Donovan Dijak with a Phoenix Splash Match Notes: Dijak gets in the cage first. As Black enter the cage, Dijka tries to jump him as he's coming through the door. Black ducks out of the way and gives him the "No No No" finger wave. Dijak says that he hoped that massive head wound would've slowed Black down some. Black bangs his own head into the turnbuckle pad. He says "my doctor probably just had a stroke if he saw that, but I feel fine," The bell rang and the match was on. Black didn't look at all off during the surprisingly brief match. He outwrestled Dijak for a few minutes, then went to the top rope and hit the Phoenix Splash for a 3-count that seemed to catch Black himself offguard. As soon as the bell rang, there was a commotion at ringside. Cage and Ricker were trying to get the key away from the ring crew member. They procured the key and entered the ring. Cage locked it back shut behind him and dropped the key into his boot. Black tried climbing out, but Dijak pulled him down by his hair. Black never begged off as the Family Stone cornered him. He threw the first couple of punches, but was quickly overwhelmed. Without warning, all three members of Baltic Siege were on the outside of the cage climbing up and over. Frog and Troll took out Natural Selection with huge dives, but Dijak caught Oak and threw him into the cage. Black and Dijak brawled while Brian Cage desperately tried to get the key out of his boot while fighting off the Siege. He took his boot off, got the key, and got the lock open. Natural Selection fell over themselves to get outside the door, but Dijak stayed inside yelling at his teammates to come back saying "we can take these guys." When they didn't return Dijak followed. Black thanked the Siege for helping him and left. As the cage was being taken down, the Siege remained in the ring. Troll got in Oak's face as he had done before. Frog tried to come between, but this time Oak got back in Troll's face. Eventually, Troll shrugged and left. Frog followed, with Oak leaving on his own.
- Crusher and the Main Event - As the cage walls were being hauled off and replaced with trash cans of plunder, barbed-wire, cinder blocks, etc., Crusher came to the ring. He looked around the ring and shook his head. "I know why Watts did what he did. I'm not saying that I wouldn't have done it myself, but this isn't wrestling. Nothing I call wrestling anyhow. This stuff, what you see here, is going to be few and far between if you ever see it again. If you like it, great, but there are other places you can go for that."
- Ultraviolent Death Match - MASADA vs. Necro Butcher Necro Butcher defeated MASADA with a Choose Death Match Notes: MASADA comes up short in his quest for revenge after taking Necro's Choose Death move over 2 flaming chairs. The match was full of the traditional hardcore spots. To no ones' shock, both men wore the proverbial "crimson mask." What did surprise some people was that Necro was able to walk from the ring on his own after the match, while MASADA needed medical attention and left on a stretcher. Borash thanked the crowd for their attendance, and encouraged them to leave in an orderly fashion as MASADA was being tended to.

In a website posting the next day, there was a short report on Rex Havoc. Unfortunately, there was much to report. He was in what they were calling a coma, although his vitals were normal. He was under constant surveillance for changes to his condition.
The Dark Menace has not been reachable since the incident.
