I appreciate the comments gents. That Sheik/Bastein match was a blast to roll out. Bastein eventually reached 13-tokens, thus the 'throw in the towel' gimmick came into play. Like you, I am looking forward to the Bobo/Sheik war that is soon to follow.WWA #30

Blackjack Mulligan punish
Scott Casey as Mulligan would lock Casey in the CLAW HOLD and release the hold right before it appeared Casey was about to submit. Casey bled from Mulligan's finisher after the 2nd application. Finally,
Pepper Gomez had seen enough and charged the ring as Mulligan headed for higher ground. Mulligan was awarded the match via DISQUALIFICATION and as Gomez challenged Mulligan to come back to the ring.
---A fired-up
Bobo Brazil laid waste to
Sabu, getting a measure of revenge after Sabu pinned the popular technico in a tag team match last week. Bobo bounced Sabu around the ring before knocking Sabu silly with the COCO BUTT for the finish. Afterwards, Bobo got on the Olympic house mike and warned
The Sheik and
Abdullah Farouk the fight has just begun.

Antonio Rocca/Ilio DiPaolo def.
Gorgeous George/Bobby Shane as Rocca hauled Shane up for the ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER as a distracted George was too late to make the save.
Jim Londos came down to ringside and appeared to be scouting George which caused George to get distracted, leading to the finish.

Johnny Valentine faced
John Tolos one week before defending the
WWA tag titles. Tolos made a mistake as he charged at Valentine coming off the ropes. Valentine ducked and Tolos went flying over the top rope to the floor. As Tolos attempted to get back in the ring, Valentine hit him with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER to pick up the win.

Mil Mascaras comes into the
Main Event looking to not only defend the
Americas' Championship but also get a measure of revenge from the man who injured the champ six weeks ago.
The Destroyer is looking to capitalize on his heel turn and win the title he has coveted for the last 30 weeks. Destroyer felt he had been overlooked as a challenger and felt he needed to make things happen on his own.
During introductions, the crowd heavily favored the champ while they nearly booed the challenger out of the building. Mil had a noticeable limp as he walked down the aisle and as he moved around the ring for intros. Finally, the wait was over and it was time to ring the bell. Destroyer went right for the injured leg of Mascaras but the champ did a good job of fighting Destroyer off early on. However, eventually Destroyer was able to take Mil down with a Dragon Screw Legwhip as Mascaras came off the ropes.
Destroyer went to work on Mil's injured leg and threw in several Intelligent Sleeper Holds and Sensational Suplexes for good measure and gets a couple of nearfalls for his efforts. Destroyer is in complete control as he plays to the boos of the crowd. However, he loses his focus long enough for Mil to roll him up in a victory roll for a long 2-count as the crowd thought Mil had won! This enraged Destroyer as he stalked the champ and continued to work over his knee by using the turnbuckle and ringpost as weapons. Mil was limping severely as the referee kept asking the champ if he wanted to continue.
As chants of
'Let's go Mil' grew louder and louder, the champ made a dramatic comeback that was started by reversing an Irish whip and catching Destroyer with the CROSS BODY ATTACK for another long 2-count. Mil went on the offensive and kept hitting Destroyer with the CROSS BODY ATTACK every time Destroyer stood up, hitting five in all. Finally, Destroyer rolled to the floor but was met with another CROSS BODY BLOCK that sent the challenger head first into the security railing.
Destroyer seemed to be knocked silly as he staggered around ringside and rolled back into the ring just before the 20-count. This gave time for Mascaras to climb to the top turnbuckle with his bad leg. Mil musters the strength to launch himself from his perch and catch Destroyer with the FLYING BODYPRESS. Destroyer stays down for the 3-count and Mil retains the championship!! Mil Mascaras has seemingly done the impossible and that's beat Destroyer, even with a bad leg!!
Several technicos hit the ring to celebrate Mil's win as
Don Leo Jonathan and
The Crusher hoist the champ onto their shoulders and paraded him around the ring. Destroyer looked on in disgust as the fans revealed in Mil's triumph and Destroyer's loss to end the show.
****Next week, our
Main Event will see
The Valentines defend the
WWA tag team championship against
Pampero Firpo/Wild Bull Curry as Firpo/Curry get their rematch after losing the titles six weeks ago to the
Hamilton Wrecking Crew. Firpo will be in a unique position as WWA officials named him as
Mil Mascaras next challenger at
#33. Firpo has the chance to be a double champion in a matter of two weeks!
