Unbelievable that his inclusion as a "Legend" would cause such a stir. I'm 100% positive that if Danielson headlined LOTF 3 or was a LE card there would have been ZERO debate! That being said, for all the doubters out there, here are a few excerpts regarding the "American Dragon" from Pro Wrestling Illustrated's latest "Report Cards of the Stars" issue detailing 50 "Top "Stars" of the sport:
"There may not be another wrestler in North America, and few around the world, who can match Danielson's wrestling IQ."
"His vast knowledge of wrestling styles and philosophies is second to none."
"Whether he has a belt around his waist or not, Danielson is Ring Of Honor."
"Make no mistake, ROH would not be where it is today without him."
For the record, the only other "non-TV" wrestlers profiled were Tyler Black, Necro Butcher & Nigel McGuiness. The fact that Danielson is included in a magazine showcasing "only" 50 "top" stars should speak volumes about this guy's reputation. Just because he's not on TV 3 nights a week is no reason to discount this guy's ability or achievements. Get used to guys like Danielson, he is the FUTURE of this sport & of this game. One has to assume it's much easier to sign up & coming talent than guys who are "established". The recent NOW set opens up yet another world of possibilities for this game. Now we need McGuiness for our feds to truly EXPLODE! Thanks again to Tom & the staff for having the foresight & vision to recognize true talent, regardless of how many people "tune in" to see it. Maybe some of us need to be more open towards making our own memories with LOTF as well as reliving past ones with LOW. Trust me, there's room for both.
