I love that Bockwinkel must work his way back up the ladder, that is my general philosophy when a challenger for a title must work his way back to a title shot. I do at times storyline wise make exceptions. Dick Hutton with a huge victory, another solid event...

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Card 1.14 – Hagerstown, MD – Armory
Match 1: Jimmy & Johnny Valiant v. Playboy Buddy Rose & Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré The Valiant Brothers have really fallen off the pace this month and need a win tonight to turn things around. With the Valentines booked into a number one contenders, Rose & George had an open contract for tonight and this bout was signed. Great heat for George as he jars with the referee about the cleanliness of the Valiant Brothers. Both teams make frequent tags early on and keep the action flowing. Jimmy Valiant is cut off from his partner for a stretch and Rose nearly gets the win with an impressive cross body block deathjump. Jimmy Valiant turns things around when he catches Rose on the top of the buckles and tosses him to the mat. The Valiant manage to keep Rose isolated from that point and Johnny Valiant puts Rose away with a SPINNING NECKBREAKER while Jimmy Valiant blocks George’s pin save attempt. (Jimmy V 4; Johnny V 4; Rose 6; George 2) (**)
Match 2: Red Bastien v. Buddy Rogers It has been a frustrated season for Rogers so far and he does not look happy as he makes his way to the ring to a chorus of boos from ringside. Rogers struggles continue as the match gets underway. Bastien gets a 2 ¾ count in the opening minute after an ATOMIC DROP. It is all Bastien in and out of the ring. A flying body press gets Bastien another near fall and Bastien then surprises Rogers coming rebounding off the ropes with flying cross body press for another 2 ¾ count. The Nature Boy tries to get a break on the floor but Bastien dives onto Rogers at ringside and the crowd explodes. Bastien charges Rogers into the corner but the Nature Boy is able to get out of the way and Bastien crashes hard into the corner. Rogers quickly covers for a 2 count. Rogers then works over Bastien’s injured neck including a piledriver that results in a 2 ½ count. Rogers taunts the fans and then uses a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE to end it. (Bastien 6; Rogers 6) (****)
Match 3: Nick Bockwinkel v. Dick Hutton Hutton has been the Cinderella story of the season so far becoming the unlikely World Champion. Bockwinkel destroyed Hutton on card 12 on route to gaining a shot at the World Title himself and now looks to beat Hutton again to get back to the top of the contenders list. Much like the last time they met this one is all Bockwinkel. Hutton survives back to back BOCKWINKEL SLEEPERS to make a brief comeback but Bockwinkel will not be denied tonight. Another BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER ends the bout (Bockwinkel 3; Hutton 6) (* ½)
Match 4: The Sandman v. Jimmy Snuka Great ovation for Snuka as he comes to the ring $12,000.00 poorer after being fined for attacking the referee last card. Snuka dominated the action with chops, backbreakers and head butts keeping the action inside the squared circle. The match finally goes to the floor and Sandman avoids Snuka’s dive over the ropes and The Superfly crashes hard into the rails in a nasty looking spot. Snuka barely gets back under the ropes and Sandman plants him with a HARDCORE DDT for the comeback win. (Sandman 4; Snuka 4) (*)
Match 5: Frank Gotch v. Ted DiBiase w/Virgil DiBiase is out to solid heat and challenges a young fan to skip rope 10 times for $100.00 but Virgil sticks his foot in at 8. Great action in this one from the outset. DiBiase is the early aggressor and tries to end it with a pair of MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPERS but Gotch hangs on. DiBiase’s deathjump takes out the referee and as the official recovers Gotch comes out of nowhere with a roll up and nearly steals the win. The momentum has changed and it is all Gotch. DiBiase survives a pair of GOTCH TOE HOLDS and a rolling knee bar. Gotch applies yet another GOTCH TOE HOLD and this time Virgil jumps Gotch and causes a disqualification. DiBiase decks the referee and joins Virgil for a two on one beat down on Gotch. Red Bastien arrives and breaks up the attack with the help of a steel chair. (Gotch 4; DiBiase 6)(*** ½)
Match 6: Johnny Valentine & Greg Valentine v. Road Warriors The winner of this one will face the World Tag Team Champions on the next card. The fans are electric as four of the toughest men in LCW collide. The Warriors cut off Greg Valentine from the outset and crush him with a Spike Piledriver. Johnny Valentine saves his son from a POWERSLAM. Greg is finally able to tag out and Johnny Valentine carries the load for his team for the balance of the bout battling both Warriors. Valentine downs Hawk with an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER but Animal jumps into the ring for the save starting a wild brawl. The referee loses control and disqualifies both teams. The fight continue with the Warriors cleaning house. Suddenly Buddy Rose & Gorgeous George attack the Valentines from behind at ringside. They single out Johnny Valentine smashing his leg with a steel chair. Finally the Road Warriors decide to intervene and chase Rose and George to the back. (Greg Valentine 8; Johnny Valentine 3; Animal 3; Hawk 5) (**** ½)
Match 7: Harley Race v. Killer Kowalski The winner of this match will be the next challenger for World Champion Bobo Brazil. Kowalski had some runs in with Brazil earlier this year and would nothing better than to get another shot at Brazil with the title on the line. Race dominates the match from the opening bell and throws everything he has at Kowalski but cannot hit his finisher. Race manages to pick up a couple of near falls and the action begins to spill in and out of the ring. Suddenly Ox Baker comes to ringside and decks Kowalski with a HEART PUNCH and the leaves Kowalski in a heap on the floor. Somehow, Kowalski manages to regain the ring. Race cannot capitalize and Kowalski makes his comeback connecting with a shoulder breaker. Kowalski goes for the win with a CLAW HOLD and Race cannot counter. Kowalski is onto the main event next card. (Race 3; Kowalsksi 5) (**)
Match 8: World Tag Team Title Match – Destroyer & Giant Baba (ch) v. Foreign Legion w/Nikita Breznikov The Foreign Legion has struggled recently and many consider them fortunate to be in position for a shot at the Titles. Great heat for Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff during the introductions. Volkoff sings and the fans are all over him. Baba and Volkoff trade power moves to start the action and Volkoff impresses with a throat drop on the ropes and quickly gets a near fall. Sheik is in and stuns the fans with two back to back vertical suplexes with a near fall after each one. With Breznikov screaming again at ringside Sheik hits a third vertical suplex on Baba and makes the cover. Volkoff blocks Destroyer save and we have new champions. The crowd is stunned at first and the jeers as the Foreign Legion are presented with the Tag Team Titles. (Baba 6; Destroyer 2; Sheik 2; Volkoff) (**)
News and Views: Congratulations to the Foreign Legion on their Title win . . . What a finish to the Road Warriors – Valentines match with Buddy Rose and Gorgeous George attacking Johnny Valentine for the second time this season . . . Ox Baker made his first appearance since being injured at the hand of Killer Kowalski but was unsuccessful in costing Kowalski his match against Harley Race . . . Nick Bockwinkel seems headed back to the top of the rankings . . . Rogers and Bastien tried to steal the show tonight with a solid match in the opening half of the night. The victory was the first time this season that Rogers picked up a win with his finisher . . . Ted DiBiase’s attack on the referee cost him $8,000.00 . . .

Foreign Legion with a Huge Championship Win, which is very cool and knowing Rose&George lost to the Valiants but I loved they went after the Valentines...
12,000 bucks lighter and Snuka also loses to The Sandman is a double blow, which is good stuff and it's always good to see Rogers taunts the crowd...

Great show in Hagerstown, Bookerbill. The Foreign Legion capturing the tag team titles wasn't what I would have predicted there but it's cool to see Volkoff & Sheik with the gold. Amazing action with the tag team bouts underneath as well. Killer Kowalski with an absolutely huge win over Harley Race, I can't wait for Kowalski vs. Bobo Brazil for the title. Looking forward to the next show

Card 1.15 – Philadelphia, PA – Arena
Match 1: Road Warriors v. Jimmy & Johnny Valiant The Valiant Brothers had a big win last card but will be hard pressed to repeat tonight against a fired up Road Warriors team. The Valiant Brothers make their best effort and actually dominate the early action with a series of double team clotheslines on Hawk. The momentum changes when Hawk catches Jimmy Valiant on the top of the buckles and tosses him across the ring. The crowd explodes. The Warriors never look back. Johnny Valiant saves his brother from defeat and then the Warriors hit a DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Johnny Valiant tries for the save again but Hawk executes a noggin knocker and gets the three count. (Hawk 4; Animal 3; Jimmy V 6; Johnny V 5). (**)
Match 2: Dick Hutton v. Buddy Rogers The Nature Boy demanded this rematch from card 1.13 where Hutton came away with the upset victory. Hutton comes out of fire and dominates the action. Twice Rogers barely escapes a pair of ABDOMINAL STRETCHES and the fans are roaring sensing yet another win for Hutton. A cowboy backbreaker nearly ends it and Rogers is reeling. Hutton goes to the top and connects with a deathjump smash and then goes up again but Rogers rolls clear of the second deathjump and Hutton crashes to the mat. Rogers hooks the leg and steals one. (Hutton 4; Rogers 4) (**)
Match 3: The Sandman v. Jimmy Snuka Great pop for both men from the hardcore fans. A White Russian Leg Sweep sends Snuka to the floor and when the action returns to the ring and Sandman breaks out a SINGAPORE CANE and is disqualified. The fans crap on the call they are treated to a wild post match brawl until security arrives (Snuka 3; Sandman 3) (dud)
Match 4: Playboy Buddy Rose v. Greg Valentine Last card, Rose and his partner Gorgeous George injured Valentine’s father Johnny Valentine and the hammer was looking for some one on one payback. It is all Valentine early on. A series of Valentine chops put Rose down for a two count. Valentine comes off the top with a deathjump clothesline and then traps Rose in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Rose is done but Gorgeous George hits the ring and attacks Valentine. The bell sounds with the disqualification and it is a two on one beat down. Johnny Valentine hobbles down to the ring, grabs a chair and rolls into the action. Rose and George wisely retreat to the back. (Rose 5; Valentine 4) (*)
Match 5: Texas Death Match – Frank Gotch & Red Bastien v. Ted DiBiase & Virgil Great heat for DiBiase & Virgil as they come to the ring. Virgil has his fists taped. The action is close at the outset but Virgil’s fists tip the balance in favour of the Million Dollar Team. Gotch takes a beating both in and out of the ring. DiBiase sends Gotch into the steps and then cracks him with a steel chair. A bloody Gotch escapes a MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER and makes a comeback at ringside sending DiBiase into the ring steps. Back inside, Bastien tags in and hits DiBiase with an ATOMIC DROP for the win. After the match DiBiase is all over Virgil asking where he was for the save. DiBiase slaps Virgil and orders him out of the ring. Virgil hangs his head and leaves drawing huge heat. (DiBiase 5; Virgil 4; Gotch 4; Bastien 2) (***)
Match 6: Nick Bockwinkel v. Harley Race Bockwinkel got the best of Race in their series of matches earlier this season. Both men are close to getting a shot at the World Title and are focused during the introductions. There was great intensity as they traded moves and counters. Race picks up a couple of near falls with a swinging neckbreakers and diving headbutt. Bockwinkel nearly beats Race with his own move, a piledriver. In between there are a couple of wild brawls on the floor. The end comes when Race became tangled in the ropes and Bockwinkel worked him over with a series of punches. The referee went to step between them and Bockwinkel shoved the referee to the mat and was disqualified. The fans are not pleased with the result and fill the ring with trash. (Bockwinkel 5; Race 3) (* ½)
Match 7: World Tag Team Title Match – Foreign Legion (ch) w/Nikita Breznikov v. The Destroyer & Giant Baba There has been rumours going around backstage that both Baba & The Destroyer were interested in pursuing singles action after solid run atop the tag team division and may not have their hearts in the match tonight. The Champions are out to huge heat and crank up the intensity with their pre-match mic work. Lots of media from Japan at ringside for this one. For a team that was rumoured to be lacking some passion the former champions look very impressive early as they work over the Sheik keeping him isolated in the ring. Sheik escapes a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK rolling Destroyer over in an impressive counter. The champions make a comeback target Baba’s back. Volkoff shows off his power with a BACKBREAKER DROP on his much larger opponent and Sheik rocks the crowd with a sidewinder suplex. Sheik traps Baba in a CAMEL CLUTCH and the champions retain. (Sheik 5; Volkoff 4; Baba 4; Destroyer 3) (***)
Match 8: World Title Match – Bobo Brazil (ch) v. Killer Kowalski Kowalski pushed Brazil to the limit earlier this year in a three match series and is hoping to do the same tonight and come away with the gold. The crowd give both men a solid ovation as Kowalski has some fans among the hardcore fans at ringside. Both men feed on the electric atmosphere and exchange counters and moves for several minutes with neither man having an advantage. Brazil avoids a charge to the corner and Kowalski hits the buckles hard leading to the first pin attempt. Brazil has the momentum now and works over Kowalski with COCO BUTTS and a pair of lengthy bear hugs. The third COCO BUTT on the match gives Brazil the three count. (Kowalski 8; Brazil 1) (** ½)
News and Views: The champions retain in the main events . . . Big win for the team of Frank Gotch & Red Bastien tonight. You have to wonder how more abuse Virgil will take from The Million Dollar Man considering it was Virgil who got his team back into the match . . . The Nature Boy was lucky to pull out the win tonight and it is now Cowboy Hutton who is petitioning for a rematch . . . The Valentines v. Rose & George feud is set to explode . . . The Warriors continue to the path of destruction to the top of the tag team rankings . . . The feud between Jimmy Snuka and his former partner The Sandman continues to simmer . . .

I like how Rose&George win or lose continue to try a create mayhem, solid stuff and it's cool seeing the Foreign Legion & Bobo Brazil retain their respective Championships and I'm sure we'll see a Bockwinkel versus Race rematch somewhere down the road...

I agree on all points. Great action in Philadelphia, Bookerbill. Loved the way Buddy Rogers stole that decision from Dick Hutton, something which makes this great game what it is. Looking forward to your next show
