2099
Card 250 – PPV – CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY V
Welcome to the GWF's year end spectacular; Champions of the Galaxy V!! Lets get right to the action...
Opening Match:
The Road Warriors vs.
The Franchise Brothers (Franchise Star Warrior/Alpha Force)
- This was a KILLER match. First the Road Warriors dominated, then the Franchise Brothers did. Two NOVA LAUNCHES had the Road Warriors reeling (and using both pinsaves early) but they battled back and the match became a real back-and-forth contest. This had it all – double teams, outside the ring brawls, deathjumps, ropes, near falls and turnbuckle charts – Animal even used three consecutive POWERSLAMS on Star Warrior to try and put him away in the later stages… but was unsuccessful! Hawk accumulated 4 tokens, Animal 4, Star Warrior 4 and Alpha Force 4 – 16 fatigue tokes in total!!!! Animal even kicked out of a Pin 8 with a roll of 9!
Franchise Star Warrior was able to hit a cross body on Hawk out of nowhere to score a pinfall and win the match for his team after about 25 minutes of action. A Stellar opening Match!!! 5/5 stars!
WINNERS: The Franchise Brothers by pinall (10/10)
LUMBERJACK MATCH:
Comrade Terror vs.
Rowdy Roddy Piper- The disdain these two have for one another was in full display for this match. The first 7 or so moves all took advantage of the “anything goes” rules – eye pokes, blatant chokes, etc. They battled back and forth as it quickly became an all-out brawl. Piper would end up on the outside near some allies, causing Reptile Nation to attack. A wild brawl almost broke out several times involving all eight (8) Lumberjacks!
Piper would eventually get the upper hand and almost won the match by using a FOREIGN OBJECT several times to bust Comrade Terror wide open… but he would escape defeat each time.
After more back and forth action, including Piper getting mauled by Reptile Nation, Comrade Terror would hit the ATOMIC WARHEAD to get the three count.
WINNER: Comrade Terror by pinfall (5/10)
GWF IP CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHMontana Machismo (c) vs.
Bryan Danielson- Montana Machismo continued to roll at the start of this one. He was all over Danielson hitting the smaller opponent with power moves and the odd wrestling move for good measure! A near count out win kept Machismo in control until a European uppercut stunned him long enough for the “Yes man” to finally get into the action. Danielson had to use a hit and run approach against the larger Champion, and never really seemed to get into a groove. Eventually Montana Machismo’s powerful attack would catch up to Danielson, who would escape pin after the OOZING MACHISMO (Razors edge) once (pin 6 roll 7), but not the second time shortly after.
WINNER: Montana Machismo by pinfall, retains the GWF IP Title (6/10)
Stud Williams, accompanied by Phantasy vs.
John Cena- This was the highly anticipated battle between the most decorated Superstar in GWF history and one of the most decorated Superstars in Earth’s history; and it did not disappoint.
The fight was everything one would expect with these two. Back and forth action, brawls outside the ring, deathjumps, charts, near falls, reversals, finishing moves – an excellent match. John Cena nearly scored the victory with three near falls early on, including the STF and ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT. Mr. Williams was able to escape defeat and would take the fight to “The Champ”. After plenty more action, Stud would land the STUD SLAM for a near fall (pin 6/roll 7) and a second STUD SLAM sealed the deal around the 17 minute mark with Stud holding Cena’s trunks for the pinfall. (Stud Wililams accumulated 5 tokens and John Cena accumulated 3)
WINNER: Stud Williams by pinfall (8/10)
GRUDGE MATCHAlexander the Grater, accompanied by
Vin Strutter vs.
Bret “Hitman” Hart- The hitman was out to avenge his families honor after Grater attacked them unprovoked on Card 246 while the “Warship of Mass Destruction” was out to make a point.
After a quick stare-down to start this off Grater grabbed Bret and used some power moves to take control. After a few minutes of domination, Bret would reverse an attack and take over during a skirmish outside the ring. The Hitman used his technical ability to wear down the larger opponent and even showed his nasty side. Several “figure four around the ring post” helped wear down Graters legs. After a little more action with each in control, Grater would botch a turnbuckle charge (as he often does) and almost knocked himself out, allowing Bret to lock on the SHARPSHOOTER.
Vin Strutter hopped on the apron (Manager Interference chart roll) to save his client. Bret saw this and clotheslined him to the floor. While this was happening, and distracting the referee, Owen Hart came from the crowd and hit Alexander the Grater with some brass knuckles. The crowd went into a frenzy (HUGE pop) as Bret would turn around and cover Grater for the three (3) count. (pin 6/roll 6)
WINNER: Bret “Hitman” Hart by pinfall (7/10)
After the bell, the Hart brothers double teamed the downed villain for a few moments before GWF Officials had to come out and restore order as the crowd was loving every moment of it. Grater was not injured in the attack.
GWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHPhoenix Rising (c) vs.
Spike/Paralyze- This was the third in the “Trilogy” of matches between these two teams this year (2099). The score is tied 1-1, and both previous matches were 5 star classics. The duo from Aethra were out to revenge the loss that ended their 490 day (70 week) reign as Champions.
This was a barn-burner! Back and forth action marked the beginning. Eventually the Champs would isolate Spike for some time and wear the Gladiator down with 4 fatigue tokens! A devastating Atomic Spike would send Janus the Overman to the arena floor, and allow Spike to finally tag out after 10 minutes! Even when Paralyze did get back in, the smaller, more agile Janus and Matador used their speed and agility to keep the big man on his toes.
The action would spill to the outside with several near DQs for each team. Paralyze would “wow” the crowd with a flying cross body off the top buckle to the arena floor that crushed Janus, and almost ended the match in a count out! From a 6’11, 400lbs monster!!!
This would set up a furious end with the PARALYZER forcing Matador to make the pinsave. A heart punch set up another PARALYZER, and this time Paralyze would knock Matador through the ropes to the floor. PARALYZER for the third time on Janus the Overman ended this and started the fifth (5th) reign as Champions for the Aethran duo.
WINNERS: Spike/Paralyze by pinfall –
NEW GWF Tag Team Champions (8/10)
THREE STAGES OF HELL MATCH
Disaster vs.
Party Harty1st Stage: No DQ
2nd Stage: Tables
3rd Stage: Cage
- Under GWF Rules, these matches ALWAYS go to the Third Stage, regardless of who wins what.
“The Aethran Wrecking Machine” Disaster has had one of, if not THE most impressive rookie years in GWF History. He has steamrolled through everyone, except Party Harty… who dealt him the first singles loss of his career. Their feud stands at two wins apiece.
Stage #1 – No DQ: The “Aethran Wrecking Machine” attacked Harty before the introductions were even finished! After a few power moves he threw Harty to the arena floor and went out to inflict more damage. Harty was able to throw Disaster into the steel barrier and gain the upper hand. A high impact deathjump (clothesline off the top rope) back in the ring had the fans on their feet, especially when Harty followed that up by tangling Disaster in the ropes and unleashing a flurry of punches and kicks. This match became a good back and forth affair shortly after. Each would take over for a bit then the other would take over. They both took full advantage of the no DQ stipulation both inside and outside of the ring. Brutal Decapitators would usually put an end to Harty’s offensive outbursts. Disasters power attack seemed too much for Harty to overcome in this one, as a Gladiator Piledriver put the high flyer down for the three (3) count after about 15 minutes.
Stage #1 WINNER: Disaster by pinfall.
Stage #2 – Tables: There was supposed to be a 30 second rest period, however, Disaster took hold of a steel chair and smashed Party Harty with it from behind with it in a brutal assault. While Harty was down, Disaster set up TWO tables inside the ring on top of each other. He placed Party Harty on top and climbed to the top buckle. Taking a HUGH RISK chance, Disaster leaped off… BUT PARTY HARTY MOVED!!! Disaster crashed through both tables after Harty rolled out of the way. He looked to be in a world of hurt as Harty rolled on top of him for the cover… 1… 2... NO!!! (pin 4 roll 9).
Harty took the opportunity to stack two tables like Disaster had, but this time outside the ring!!! He rolled Disaster on top of them and went to the top buckle himself. Would he have success where Disaster did not?? .. YES!!!! A DEVISTATING BOMBED SWAN from the top turnbuckle to the outside that crushed Disaster through both tables!!! AMAZING!!!! The crowd was stunned!
Party Harty rolled Disaster into the ring and then rolled on top to make the cover… 1… 2… 3!!! It’s over!!!!
Stage #2 WINNER: Party Harty by pinfallStage #3 – Steel Cage: Quite fitting that this heated feud would now come down to the final stage. Both men lay in the ring trying to recover as the steel cage was lowered from the ceiling. There would be no escape. Only one man was walking away from this.
Disaster would get the upper hand as the two began to brawl. He even launched Harty into the Steel Cage head first like a lawn dart!! The match almost ended when Harty threw Disaster into the buckle and charged in after, and hit nothing but the turnbuckle head on! Disaster made the pin but Harty kicked out at the last second. (Pin 4 roll 5). A RAMPAGE onto the steel chair that was still in the ring from his earlier assault. Disaster then walked out of the Cage door. It’s over!! (pin 9 roll 8)
Stage 3 WINNER: Disaster by pinfall!MATCH WINNER: Disaster (9/10)After the bell, as the Cage was raised, an enraged Disaster used the RAMPAGE on a helpless Party Harty several more times on the steel chair until GWF Officials were able to come out and restore order. Harty looked to be in bad shape and may be hurt. (7 weeks/cards)
Before going to the GWF Championship match, there were Special Interviews with each Superstar in the back:
-
The Muscle Freak did one of his usual nonsensical interviews, making little sense and leaving both fans and commentators scratching their heads. The basic idea was that he would retain the title and win tonight match.
-
Macho Man’s interview was one of his trademark deliberate interviews. There were points of low talking to make specific points, and also moments of almost hysteria with yelling and screaming. This was intense and Macho Man proclaimed himself the next GWF Heavyweight Champion.
FIRST MAIN EVENTGWF HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHThe Muscle Freak(c) vs.
Macho Man Randy Savage- (rolled on Ring Announcer Card) after Macho Man came out, and the Muscle Freak came running down and was circling the ring in full stride, Savage hit a flying axe handle to the unsuspecting Champion as he rounded a corner. Savage then tossed Muscle Freak head first into the ring post and rolled him into the ring to start the match! FLYING ELBOW DROP!!! The cover… 1…2 ...NO!!! Muscle Freak kicked out (pin 6/roll 7). Macho hit a few elbows to the head before attempting a neckbreaker clothesline that Muscle Freak avoided. A flying shoulder tackle and then a turnbuckle smash looked to have the Champion in control, until me missed a dropkick. A knee drop and neckbreaker clothesline set up Macho Man’s FLYING ELBOW DROP… but again Muscle Freak kicked out. Macho Man was in complete control hitting Muscle Freak with elbows to the head, knee drops, rope straddles, and other offensive moves. His quickness was keeping the larger Champion from gaining any momentum. Any time Muscle Freak would get an upper hand, he would miss a dropkick or have the more technically sound Savage reverse the attack. A piledriver set up the third and final FLYING ELBOW DROP. The three count was made, as Macho Man Randy Savage used a handful of tights to secure the pinfall and his first reign as GWF Heavyweight Champion! (snake eyes)
WINNER: Macho Man Randy Savage –
NEW GWF Heavyweight Champion (5/10)
Comments in the back from
Big Superstar, who is standing by with GWF Correspondent Bob Loblaw:
- “

So let me just leave you with this one question, brother… WHATCHA GONNA DO, ANDRE AND THE ENTIRE GWF, WHEN SUPERSTAR-MANIA AND THE LARGEST ARMS IN THE GALAXY RUN WILD ON YOU!!!!”
SECOND MAIN EVENTONE NIGHT ONLYAndre the Giant vs.
Big Superstar- Big Superstars mega announcement of his new GWF contract had the fans in attendance just buzzing. The roof nearly blew off the arena when he made his way to the ring, with the usual fanfare. The fans were almost silent as Andre came out, having never seen anything quite like the 7’5 450lbs monster.
The two big men would trade arm bars, bear hugs and other such holds at the start, with neither seeming to get any advantage or sustain offense… until the massive Giant flattened Big Superstar with a big boot to the face. Andre then wowed the crowd with a dropkick knocking Superstar down a soon as he got back up. Amazing for someone his size!!!
A big body slam and then followed that up with a turnbuckle squash… but Big Superstar “Hulked Up”!! Andre tried to smash him again, but a drop toe hold put the Giant to the mat and a SUPERSTAR DROP followed that! The cover…. NO!!! (pin 5/roll 7)
The two exchanged a few more slugging moves (forearms, right hands, knee lifts, etc.) until Superstar threw Andre into the ropes… telegraphed a back body drop. Andre responded with a brutal knee attack to his head and Superstar went down hard. A brutal body scissors and then a massive body slam set Superstar up for THE BIG SPLASH… the pin… NO!!! (pin 7/roll 10)
The Giant would telegraph a back body drop too, which allowed Big Superstar to hit some forearms and punches. The two would get back to their feet and engage in a test of strength, which was won by Andre. They would exchange more offense, including a turnbuckle squash by the Giant, before Andre would dump Big Superstar over the top rope to the area floor.
Andre the Giant then wowed the crowd yet again climbing to the top of the turnbuckle… and crushed Big Superstar on the arena floor with a flying cross body – AMAZING!!!!! Superstar would get back into the ring at the count of nine (9), narrowly avoiding a count out loss. A sitdown splash (add 1) waited for him when he rolled back under the bottom rope. Andre used his foot to push Superstar back under the rope to the arena floor. He followed and tried to smash Superstars head into the ring post. Superstar blocked the move and rammed Andres head into the post! He rolled the Giant back into the ring. He got back in the ring and hit the stunned Giant with a SUPERSTAR DROP and went for the cover… NO!!! (pin 6/roll 8). A big boot to face off the ropes (add 1) was quickly shrugged off by Andre and he flattened Big Superstar… who “Hulked up”.
They exchanged more offense before Andre used a back body drop to take control. Superstar fought out of a bear hug and landed a series of punches with theatrics and then a boot to the face off the ropes (add 1). After a slug-fest between the two, Andre would lock in a brutal bear hug again… Superstar began to look weak and as if he had passed out. The referee lifted and dropped his arm… once… twice… NO!!!! His arm stopped and shook at the last possible second (pin 4/roll 5). He started to punch Andre and the annoyed Giant tossed Superstar to the outside of the ring again, and waited for his weakened opponent to crawl helplessly back in. A sitdown splash (add 1) looked to flatten Big Superstar, but he “Hulked Up” and fought back!! A flurry of offense had Andre the Giant staggered… he walked right into a power slam!!!! AMAZING!!!!! Big Superstar bounced off the ropes and hit the SUPERSTAR DROP. The cover… 1… 2… 3!!! (pin 9/roll8) – ITS OVER!!!! (Andre 5 tokens, Superstar 5 tokens)
The crowd went berserk as Big Superstar celebrated with his usual theatrics, including motioning for the GWF title to be around his waist.
WINNER: Big Superstar by pinfall (10/10)
