2100
Card 253
Opening Match: OTB Qualifying Match
Stud Williams vs. Party Harty (inj)
- There was no way that Party Harty would let his injury stop him from attempting to qualify for the OTB tournament. Unfortunately for him his opponent was a highly motivated Stud Williams, who was looking to rebound from a sub-par 2099, and seems to have found his game once more.
Stud took the fight to Harty right from the opening bell, and was in control for most of this match. Harty would get some offense in and even showed flashes of what he is capable of (his untapped potential) with such moves as a sitout jackbuster and a double legdrop to the groin… but ultimately his injuries caught up with him. A missed jump over the top ropes to the outside led to a STUD SLAM inside the ring, a three count and a trip to the OTB tourney for Mr. Williams.
WINNER: Stud Williams by pinfall – Qualifies for OTB on Card 255.
Davey Storm vs. Payback
- Davey Storm has struggled since his two reigns as GWF IP champion back in 2097 and like many others is looking to make 2100 his year. He did, after all, pin Stud Williams in his debut match! The Hardcore superstar Payback hasn’t been around in the GWF much since his tables match against Sabu back at Card 200 - CotGIV, but seems to have resurfaced.
This was a good back and forth match with each competitor using his trademark offensive moves and skills to his advantage. This match had some high flying, a little brawling outside of the ring and even some decent wrestling. Storm his such moves as the Red Spot Smash, Jovian Crab and even a standing vertical suplex. Payback landed a pump handle slam, suicide moonsault and even a flying body press to the outside that almost got him a countout victory.
Tempers would get the best of them outside the ring during a brawl, leading to Payback getting DQ’d.
WINNER: Davey Storm by DQ
The Franchise Brothers (Star Warrior and Alpha Force) vs. TNT (Tongsoon and Tendron)
- Star Warrior blames the Road Warriors for costing him the OTB qualifying match against Ted Debiase, so the Franchise Brothers were out to prove a point and continue their ascent up the Tag Team rankings.
Tongsoon, who lasted an impressive 28 minutes in the Lethal Lottery Rumble Match last year started off in the ring against Alpha Force and landed a powerful Cygrus Slam for a near fall just after the opening bell! (PIN 2/roll 7). Tongsoon was all over Alpha Force, until a hot tag allowed Warrior into the match and he looked impressive, hitting the NOVA LAUNCH after a few moves causing Tendron to make a pinsave and then another pinsave shortly after. Star Warrior dominated TNT as Alpha Force seemed to be shaken. After using all of his trademark moves such as boxing jabs, karate chops, and dropkicks, Warrior was able to score the pin after a reverse piledriver. (PIN 6/roll 3)
WINNERS: The Franchise Brothers by pinfall
GWF NEWS
- Another match has been added to Card 255 – Only the Best. A HUGE tag team re-match from CotGV: The Franchise Brothers vs. The Road Warriors
- Disaster has issued a challenge to the GWF Championship committee. He is demanding a Heavyweight Title match for Card 266, exactly one year to the day he debuted in the GWF. Stay tuned to this story as it develops.
Non-Title Match
Macho Man Randy Savage (c), accompanied by Miss Elizabeth vs. Vlad Hammer
- The Macho Man became the first ever LOW Superstar to win the GWF Heavyweight Championship at CotGV when he defeated the Muscle Freak. This was his for his tune up for their big re-match at Card 255 – OTB.
Just as one would expect, this match was all Macho Man. Hammer had no offense at all. The Champion hit some of his trademark attacks like a running knee to the back, running axe handle, and a knee drop… all as a set-up to the devastating FLYING ELBOW DROP (+3). Savage is on his game.
WINNER: Macho Man Randy Savage by pinfall
MAIN EVENT MATCH – OTB Qualifying Match
Alexander the Grater, accompanied by Vin Strutter vs. Avalanche
- This was a battle of two big men. Both are former GWF Champions who are looking to return to their former glory. Avalanche is Strutter’s former client, and is always up to cause his former manager some grief. Grater was coming off a frustrating loss to Bret Hart at CotGV.
They slugged it out back and forth at the start, trading hard hitting blows. The match was not too long as Avalanche would eventually miss a big elbow drop, and Grater would hit a SHOTGUN STAB DDT (+1) for a near fall, and then finish his opponent off with the GRATER BOMB (+3). After the match Grater did his trademark “Whose the man!?!?!” taunt by hollering at the crowd. Could he be the next OTB Winner?
WINNER: Alexander the Grater by pinall – Qualifies for OTB on Card 255
