GWF Friday Night Fury #5 Kobe Battle Arena
- Ghengis Khan and Invincible Kraken, the Society of Death, are in the ring with microphones. Both men look to be very upset, and it isn’t because the crowd is booing them. “Mutant, we‘ve noticed your comedic little persona around here as of late, but we sure as hell don‘t like it! You‘re not Society of Death material, so as of right now, you are no longer with us. You‘re just a little footnote in our glorious history!”
1. Society of Death (Ghengis Khan) defeated Space Croppers (Renegade) via TWIN THRUST ~ Renegade and Beast Rider maintained solid ring psychology by always keeping a fresh man in, and by keeping Khan in their corner. Renegade almost put Khan away via SPINECRACKER, but Kraken came in and made the save. In the end, Khan planted Renegade with his sick TWIN THRUST for the win. After the match, Khan and Kraken hovered over the Space Croppers as if they were going to do some damage, but the crowd erupted when Mutant jumped the guardrail and slid in the ring for the save! “Braaagh! Glukkk! Blegh!” Mutant shouted at his former teammates, sending the crowd into laughter.
2. Mutant defeated Omega via TEMPLE GRINDER ~ Omega was hesitant at first to extend his hand to the crazed Mutant; however, he welcomes Mutant to a handshake. Mutant shook his head and slapped it away. Mutant then extended his hand, working the crowd. When Omega went in for the shake, Mutant pulled back and slicked his hair back, sending the fans into laughter. Omega grinned and both men went at it. Omega had a hard fight on his hands. He eventually tapped out to the TEMPLE GRINDER. After the match, Omega grabbed a microphone and had Mutant smiling like a child at Christmas. “I don’t know about you guys and gals in the crowd, but I’d like to see Mutant get a title shot. What do you think?” The fans exploded with excitement. “Well, Mutant, it sounds like the fans have spoken. You‘ll face either Thantos or Star Warrior for the GWF Heavyweight Championship next week at Friday Night Fury. How does that sound, boy?” Mutant smiled and nodded his head.
- Backstage, Thantos spoke with Death Knight and the Evils Ones. “Don’t you fools let me down!”
2. Flying Titans (Pit Viper) defeated Team Thantos (Death Knight) via VENOM BLAST ~ It was over before it began. Death Knight charged at Pit Viper, but the master of the VENOM BLAST tossed him over the ropes. After a wild brawl took place outside the ring, Nexus tossed Death Knight back into the ring to be finished off by Pit Viper’s VENOM BLAST. After the match, Comrade Terror hit the ring and literally destroyed Pit Viper with an ATOMIC WARHEAD! He had to be taken out on a stretcher! Omega, after the mess was settled, came out and told Thantos’ men that they were all suspended next week! The fans enjoyed hearing this, but concern couldn’t be wiped from their faces due to the severity of Pit Viper’s neck injury.
4. Massif defeated Vanity via VOLCANIC DROP ~ All it took was a clothesline and VOLCANIC DROP to put Vanity down. After the match, Vanity spoke out against his loss. “I wasn’t ready! I wasn’t ready! Massif, you took advantage of me while I was undoing my cape! I wanted to give it to some lucky fan. You let me and my fans down!” The fans obviously didn’t agree, and as Vanity tried to give his purple cape to a kid, the kid simply threw it back at him.
5. Star Warrior defeated Comrade Terror via DQ ~ Either Comrade Terror didn’t care about winning, or he was sick of the beating Star Warrior was giving him. Comrade Terror quickly ended the match without a win, but he made another one of his statements. Terror rolled out of the ring and taunted Star Warrior to come fight him. Star Warrior, not using his head, went after Thantos’ “Ultimate Weapon.” Terror pulled out a technical technique when he used a drop toe hold that made Star Warrior head face first into the guardrail. He then proceeded to choke Star Warrior while his neck hung over the railing.
6. Greek Gods (Proteus) defeated Gladiators of Aethra (Massacre) via OVERHEAD TOSS ~ It was a hard battle for the Greek Gods, but they kept Massacre in their corner throughout the whole match. With a handful of quick tags, Proteus was able to finish Massacre off with his OVERHEAD TOSS and retain the tag team straps for the Greek Gods. Angered, Brute entered the ring and nailed Proteus with a stiff clothesline over the ropes. Massacre then nailed Actagon with his MASSACRE SLAM. “If it’s a war you want, it’s a war you got!” Brute shouted at the Greek Gods!
- Backstage, Omega kicked all of Thantos’ men out of the arena.
7. Thantos defeated Star Warrior via MASTERLOCK ~ Both heavyweight hard-hitters came in with everything they had, but Star Warrior simply couldn’t get past the Gamemaster. Thantos nailed a full power slam and then went for the MASTERLOCK. Star Warrior stretched and reached with all his strength for the ropes, but he couldn’t take the pain any longer. Star Warrior tapped out with sorrow written all over his face. “I told you that you couldn’t beat me, son, Thantos said in a cocky manner. “Go back and weep into your sorry father’s arms.” Suddenly, Mutant ran down to the ring and dove right into Thantos with a fury of fists. The show ended with Mutant applying the TEMPLE GRINDER on Thantos.

Great show! Of course I'm loving the Mutant stuff, but what a great couple of matches between the two best tag teams and the two best singles stars of the era.
