FROM LORDS OF PAIN WWE officials notified Bright House Network Monday that they have opted to cease their affiliation with the Florida based sports network as they are shutting down Florida Championship Wrestling effective immediately. Florida Championship Wrestling programming, which was taped last Thursday in Tampa, Florida, will cease to air on the network in three weeks.
Everyone involved with Florida Championship Wrestling will relocate to WWE's homebase in Stamford, Connecticut until a further decision regarding the developmental program is made.
WWE employees were given the impression that a developmental promotion will ultimately open in Connecticut with the possibility of a second at an undetermined location.
The promotion was started by former wrestler Steve Keirn in 2007 to be WWE's second developmental promotion when they ended their relationship with the Georgia-based Deep South Wrestling in early 2007. It became their sole developmental promotion in early 2008 when they ceased affiliation with Ohio Valley Wrestling.

I believe that FCW was their third developmental promotion because back in 2002-2003, the Heartland Wrestling Association was a WWE developmental promotion until the WWE ceased the deal in order to make OVW their developmental promotion.

From what I have read WWE is denying that they are shutting down FCW still.

Well, I wish we could get a show where undercard and new guys could get time, like WCW Saturday Night.

The whole fake reality competition show aspect of NXT really ruined it for me. I never really was able to get myself to watch much of it.
I would love to see a Saturday Night type show again. I have been watching a bunch of old matches from Nitro, Thunder and Saturday Night lately and I loved watching back then. The roster was so huge that you actually had a fleshed out upper, mid and lower card. WWE & TNA (and most of the indies) don't have that. Everyone thinks that they are championship material and there is no one happy to put over another wrestler.

Both Superstars and NXT are what you are describing. NXT is actually really entertaining because I'm pretty sure someone told Vince it was cancelled so he has no idea what is going on on it.

Maybe I will have to check it out again. Isn't NXT only online now too?
I always mean to watch Superstars but forget when it is on. Recently I had just forgotten it even existed. Thanks for the reminder.
I have to remember to watch ROH too. Now if only I could get these wrestling promotions to schedule their shows when my wife is busy so I can sit and watch without her complaining...
