WWE keeps saying Dolph Ziggler's was once a world champion . I / we don't remember it , when did it happen ?

he was champion for about 10 minutes in early 2011 when Vickie was Smackdown GM and stripped Edge of his title for using the spear (which she had banned). She awarded the title to Ziggler who went on to lose it back to Edge 10 minutes later.

I like Dolph Ziggler, but hate the character name. I wish WWE creative would have given him the 'Jack Swagger' name, its more marketable and he I think could pull it off well. He reminds me a bit of a young Mr. Perfect.

I like Dolph Ziggler, but hate the character name. I wish WWE creative would have given him the 'Jack Swagger' name, its more marketable and he I think could pull it off well. He reminds me a bit of a young Mr. Perfect. I have heard both the Mr. Perfect and Billy Gunn comparison. I could see a bit of both in him. I only wonder if creative gave him his name, or if he came up with it himself (as many FCW guys seem to do these days). |

I definitely think the Dolph Ziggler name is dumb but it seems like it has gone on too long for him to change it and still keep the same character which is working. I like Ziggler and it seems like alot of others dig him.

I believe in Colt Cabana's podcast with Dolph he talks a bit about his name and where it came from. Podcast is called the Art of Wrestling.

I think he got his name from the actor Dolph Lundgren and in a way his looks ?

Always liked the name. Don't get the Billy Gunn comparisons but he has reminded me of Perfect since the beginning. Other than Punk, he's the only other guy I can't miss on Raw. Can't wait for his first real chance at carrying one of two big titles.
