Maeda then tried to storm the ring, with Andre gesturing “come on,” but Cornette, the Midnight Express and the Heavenly Bodies all held him back, with Cornette telling Maeda to “save it for LegendsMania.”
NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S MATCH DORY & TERRY FUNK (low-b) beat MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW (“Enforcer” Arn Anderson & “The Rock” Ole Anderson) (low-b) when Terry beat Arn with a Spinning Neckbreaker (Referee: Dick Woherle) --As the Funks celebrated, the LWF World Tag Team Champions, Demolition, and their manager, Captain Lou Albano, came out and mockingly clapped for the Funks. Demolition will now defend their belts against the Funks this Sunday night at LegendsMania.
Jushin Liger announced, through interpreter Masanori Horie, that he was surrendering his spot in the Money In The Bank Match to challenge Sabu for the LWF World Cruiserweight belt, saying, “I’ve beaten Sabu many times, and I know I can beat him again. All I need is one more shot at the belt. (LWF General Manager) Bill Watts has told me that, this Sunday night at LegendsMania, I will get that shot … and the Grand Wizard, Abdullah Farouk, cannot interfere, because he will be inside a cage at ringside.”
Before the next match, Ring Announcer Gary Michael Cappetta announced that, with Liger pulling out of Money in The Bank, the LWF Board of Directors decided to give the vacant spot to the man Liger beat to enter the match … Jacques Rougeau. Already in the ring for his match, Rougeau jumped up and down and celebrated with manager Oliver Humperdink. Rougeau then told the fans that, “This proves that Jushin Liger is a gutless coward, and that I deserve a shot at the World Title. Bring out my opponent. Show me who I’m going to beat tonight!”
BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat “MOUNTIE” JACQUES ROUGEAU (low) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) with the Atomic Knee Drop finisher (Referee: David Manning)
JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER (low) beat “PRETTY BOY” LARRY SHARPE (low) with the Shoda (Referee: Tommy Young)
LWF World Heavyweight Champion Barry Windham, with manager Bobby Heenan by his side, had a face-to-face confrontation with the man who will challenge him Sunday night for the belt, Lou Thesz. Thesz reminded Windham and the fans that the DQ rule has been waived for the non-deciding falls, but the match, and title, still have to be won with a pinfall or submission. Thesz was very confident, and Windham and Heenan both showed the same confidence. Heenan said, “Look, Thesz, we know your reputation, and we know how many people you’ve beaten. But, this is Barry Windham, the World Heavyweight Champion, and you are NOT going to beat him! At LegendsMania this Sunday night, Barry will put the legend of Lou Thesz to rest once and for all!” Thesz replied with a simple, “Good luck.”
“AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) & “SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE beat CARIBBEAN BEACH PATROL (Konnan & Jack Veneno) (low/low-b) when Rhodes beat Veneno with the Figure-Four Leglock finisher (Referee: Mark Curtis)

After the pinfall, Cornette told the fans to tell the Rock ‘N’ Rolls goodbye, because “this is just a taste of what’s going to happen to them this Sunday night in the Hell In A Cell!”

LEGENDS WRESTLING FEDERATION PAY-PER-VIEW LWF LEGENDSMANIA ‘08 FLORIDA CITRUS BOWL, ORLANDO, FLORIDA SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2008
*****RESULTS*****
(Card source key: low=Filsinger’s Legends Of Wrestling; low-b=Legends Of Wrestling Bootlegs; low-c=Legends Of Wrestling Creations; low-m=Legends Of Wrestling Memphis Bootlegs)
FREE PRE-PPV MATCH “GORGEOUS” JIMMY GARVIN (w/ Precious) (low-b) beat ILIO DiPAOLO (low) with the Sleeperhold (Referee: Dick Woherle)
LWF LEGENDSMANIA ’08 PPV with the broadcast team of Gordon Solie, Jim Ross & Mike Tenay, with backstage interviewer “Mean Gene” Okerlund and Ring Announcer Howard Finkel
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat JACK VENENO of the CARIBBEAN BEACH PATROL (low-b) by disqualification (Referee: Dave Hebner) --Veneno put the Figure Four Leglock on Rogers, and Rogers grabbed the bottom rope to try to force a break, but Veneno wouldn’t let go. Hebner got to the five count and called for the bell, and several officials had to come out and force Veneno to finally break.
MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK STEINER (low-b) climbed the ladder to get the briefcase containing the guaranteed title shot (Referees: Gilberto Roman, Tommy Young) --The other competitors were Bob Backlund, Carlos Colon, Pepper Gomez, Jacques Rougeau and Scott Steiner. At one point in the match, Rougeau bodyslammed Gomez and started up the ladder, but the Mountie paused, turned, and jumped off with both feet onto Gomez’s stomach. As Rougeau celebrated, Gomez calmly got up behind Rougeau, spun him around and attacked him. Rougeau, though, laid out Gomez with a Piledriver. Scott put Rougeau down and out with a Tilt-A-Whirl Slam. Backlund went after Scott, only to be laid out with a Super DDT. Rick picked up Colon and rammed him into the turnbuckle with a backbreaker. This left both Steiner brothers to battle over climbing the ladder. The two fought hard, sometimes using the ladder itself. Rick turned the ladder over onto Scott and then leaped from the top rope onto the ladder on top of Scott. The move injured both men, but Rick was able to turn the ladder upright and, in great pain, climb up to get the briefcase hanging above the ring. Rick now gets a World Title shot anytime he wants within the next 365 days.
STREET FIGHT MATCH NEW AGE OUTLAWS (“Bad Ass” Billy Gunn & “Road Dogg” Jesse James) (low) beat HEAVENLY BODIES (“Gangster Of Love” “Sweet” Stan Lane & “Doctor Of Desire” Tom Prichard) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) when James beat Prichard with a DDT (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --This match went all over the Citrus Bowl field, at one point entering the end zone. Cornette wisely kept his distance. The battle eventually went back to the ring, where the “Road Dogg” dropped Prichard for the pin.
“AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low) beat KONNAN of the CARIBBEAN BEACH PATROL (low) with the Weaverlock (Referee: Nick Patrick)
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Champions DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain”Lou Albano) (low) beat DORY & TERRY FUNK (low-b) when Smash beat Dory with the Demolition Decapitation finisher to retain the belts (Referee: Earl Hebner)
ANDRE The GIANT (low-b) and “GIANT KILLER” AKIRA MAEDA (low-c) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) went to a double-disqualification (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --Andre had Maeda by the throat when Cornette jumped up onto the ring apron. Andre let Maeda go and went after Cornette. Maeda unleashed a kick attack on Andre, who let Cornette go. As Dugan was trying to get Cornette out of the ring, the Midnight Express came in and attacked Andre. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express ran in and went after the Midnights. The Heavenly Bodies ran in and jumped the Rock ‘N‘ Rolls. The New Age Outlaws ran in and attacked the Bodies. When Dugan turned around and saw the four teams battling, he called for the bell. In the melee, Maeda grabbed Cornette’s tennis racket and started whaling away on Andre, sending him crashing to the mat, stretching out his left arm and bashing it repeatedly. The Rock ‘N’ Rolls and the Outlaws chased Cornette’s men away and then went to check on Andre, who was clearly hurt.
As Cornette and his men reached the back, Gene Okerlund called them over. Cornette told Okerlund that Maeda did what he was brought in to do, and that was to hurt Andre. “And now, that big goof’s not gonna be able to guard the controls of the Hell In The Cell. The ball’s in our court now, and there’s no way Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson are gonna beat us. Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, you might as well pack your bags now!” Just then, LWF GM Bill Watts entered the picture. “Cornette, you think you’re smart, don’t you? Well, I’ll tell you what. Number one, there WILL be a guard posted at the controls of the cage. In fact, there will be TWO. I’m putting the New Age Outlaws there to make sure there’s no monkey business with the cage. Number two, if you think you’re gonna send Lane and Prichard, here, to take out the Outlaws, think again, because, as of right now, I’m ordering them to leave the stadium, and I have the Orlando Police force ready to escort them out. And, the same goes for your Japanese assassin, Maeda. He’s gone, too. But, that’s not all. Since you want to see your men win the match so badly, you’ll have the best seat in the house. You see, Jimmy, you’re going to be INSIDE the Hell In The Cell WITH them. And, if they lose, you’re going with them!” Cornette started sputtering and spitting as words failed him, for once, as both the Midnights and the Bodies protested to Watts and Okerlund. Police came over to escort Lane and Prichard out.
LWF WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH, ABDULLAH FAROUK IN A CAGE AT RINGSIDE JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER (low) beat Champion “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) with the Liger Bomb finisher to win the belt (Referee: James Beard) --Farouk could do nothing as Liger overcame Sabu’s unorthodox brawling to score another victory over the madman from Bombay and, this time, win the title.
LWF NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH, HELL IN A CELL, LOSING TEAM LEAVES THE LWF FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR Champions ROCK ‘N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) beat MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) when Gibson beat Condrey with the Double Dropkick finisher to retain the belts and send Cornette and the Midnights packing (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --Condrey was busted open on the cage. Cornette took handcuffs out of his jacket pocket to try to cuff Gibson to the cage like he did at the last PPV, but Gibson punched Cornette, and he and Morton cuffed CORNETTE to the cage. As Eaton tried to free his manager, Gibson and Morton hit their signature move on Condrey, and Gibson made the cover and got the three-count as Morton tackled Eaton before he could make the save. As the Rock ‘N’ Rolls celebrated and Cornette started crying, the Outlaws ordered the cage raised, and Cornette went up in the air with only the handcuffs keeping him from crashing to the floor. Cornette screamed like a little girl, panicked and fainted, and, with the cage 10 feet off the floor, his hands slipped through the cuffs, sending him crashing to the football field. Condrey and Eaton had to carry their unconscious manager to the back in defeat as fans sang “Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey-hey, goodbye!”
LWF WOMEN’S WORLD TITLE MATCH IDA MAE MARTINEZ (low) beat Champion “SENSATIONAL” SHERRI MARTEL (low) with the Dropkick finisher to win the belt (Referee: Mark Curtis)
LWF LEGENDSMANIA ’08 PPV MAIN EVENT-LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH, BEST TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS, DQ RULE WAIVED FOR NON-DECIDING FALLS LOU THESZ (low-b) beat Champion BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) by disqualification in the third fall to win the match, but Windham retains the belt (Referee: David Manning) --Windham won the first fall with a Missile Dropkick. Thesz took the second fall with the Thesz Press finisher. By the third fall, both men were bleeding heavily. Thesz was going for his Greco-Roman Backdrop finisher when Heenan ran in and started kicking him, leaving Referee Manning no choice but to call for the bell. When Heenan briefly let up to check on Windham, Thesz got up, took Heenan down and gave him the STF. Windham attacked Thesz, and he and Heenan left the challenger laying in the ring, with no real friends willing to come out and help him while referees came out to separate the combatants.
