Pro Wrestling Independent Spirit (PWIS) Set To Debut This Weekend

Inspired by the success of National Pro Wrestling Day, Mike Quackenbush has decided to take the concept one step further by taking the show on the road. Quackenbush has joined with independent promoters around the country to put on co-op/double shot shows in each promotion's home territory. Gathering some of the best indy talent in the business, Quackenbush hopes to form what he considers a professional wrestling street team to draw fans to local promotions. "I think we can bring fans to shows they might not normally attend," Quackenbush says. "Fans may even travel from outside the area to see wrestlers that they are familiar with. And by doing so, they will discover some great talent they may not otherwise be exposed to." The proposed format for these shows will resemble NPWD with afternoon and evening sessions. The early session will spotlight the local promotion and its stars while the late session will be the PWIS main show which will also feature top talent from the local promotion.

The first PWIS show is scheduled for 3/3/13, taking place at the Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium in Gibsonville NC to be co-presented by CWF Mid-Atlantic Wrestling. Booked to appear are Chris Hero, Mike Quackenbush, and CWF Mid-Atlantic's own Arik Royal with many more stars in attendance. INTRO

Louden Noxious enters through the curtain and introduces himself. He is tonight's ring announcer and will assist on color commentary with announcer Randy Hedrick. He welcomes the crowd and asks them how they liked the CWF Mid-Atlantic show. The crowd responds enthusiastically. He promises some great action and announces the first competitor of the night:

MATCH #1

2 Cold Scorpio vs. Kevin Steen

Steen opens the bout with a couple of power moves. Scorpio recovers and reverses a Steen whip into the corner and follows with a fireman's carry suplex. With Steen down, Scorpio climbs to the top rope and hits him with a Scorpio Splash for the quick win.

Winner: 2 Cold Scorpio

MATCH #2

The Heartbreak Express vs. the Samoan Island Tribe

Superstar Sean removes his robe revealing to the women at ringside what a real man looks like. "A real man on what planet?" is the response from Louden. The HBE start the match by immediately hitting Samu with a double flapjack followed by the Heartbreaker. Samu kicks out of the early pin attempt. However he cannot escape Fabulous Phil's pin after the HBE patented Irish Whip/ Butt Bomb combo. Alofa tries to save his brother but cannot get around Sean's girth. The crowd is stunned by this flash destruction of what looked to be a formidable team.

Winner: Heartbreak Express

MATCH #3

Colt Cabana vs. Ricky Landell

Landell comes out strong dominating Colt early with his technical style. "Could we see another upset here?" asks Louden. Cabana recovers as his size begins to slow Landell's offense. The course of the match runs back and forth with Landell surviving one but not two Colt .45s.

Winner: Colt Cabana

MATCH #4

Bryan Danielson vs. Drake Younger

Danielson starts the contest with some heavy striking and bludgeoned and stretched Younger throughout the match. Despite escaping Danielson's LeBell lock multiple times Younger eventually submitted to the hold.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

MATCH #5

Arik Cannon vs. Necro Butcher

This match was as hard hitting and brutal as expected. The match quickly spilled out of the ring and the crowd audibly gasped when Cannon drove Necro into the concrete floor with a Saito suplex. Necro answered by executing a Death Valley Driver onto an open chair at ringside. Cannon is counted out of the ring and needed assistance back to the locker room.

Winner: Necro Butcher

MATCH #6

Arik Royal vs. Adam Pearce

The audience erupts as the local favorite Royal enters the ring. The match is well fought with each grappler delivering punishing moves to his opponent. The turning point came when Pearce jumped off the top rope only to be caught by Royal and powerbombed for the win.

Winner: Arik Royal

MATCH #7

Delirious vs. Claudio Castagnoli

(Before this match Louden reports that Arik Cannon has suffered a concussion and may miss some future ring appearances.)
This match proved to be an exercise in futility and frustration for Claudio. Delirious' speed and agility were too much for him. Any attempt at offense ended in being trapped in a Cobra Stretch. The worn down Castagnoli eventually fell victim to a Panic Attack and a Delirious pin.

Winner: Delirious

Louden enters the ring for a post match interview with Delirious.
Louden: "Congratulations on your first win for Pro Wrestling Independent Spirit!"
Delirious: "BAH, BAH, BAH. Da da spirit. Radadabah!"
Louden: "Ah... dotah bodah?"
Delirious: "bah, bah...bah?"
(This continues as we cut to an announcement that the next PWIS event will take place in Chicago in association with AAW-Pro Wrestling Redefined.)

MAIN EVENT

Chris Hero vs. Mike Quackenbush

From the bell Quackenbush put on a display of wrestling artistry. Hero looked completely outclassed and got in very little offense. At one point Hero's friend Claudio Castagnoli even came to ringside in an attempt to distract Quackenbush but the official in the ring sent him to the back. Hero soon taps out to the Chikara Special. On the way back to the dressing room Hero throws a temper tantrum, kicking the barricade and flipping over the announcers table. Castagnoli returns to drag him to the back as Quackenbush grins and waves goodbye.

Winner: Mike Quackenbush

AFTERMATH

Chris Hero's dressing room

Hero is sitting on a bench unlacing his boots. When he sees the cameraman he throws a boot at him. The camera backs off but keeps Hero in focus. Castagnoli enters the shot.
Claudio: "Take it easy Chris. Relax. You'll get another shot at him."
Chris: "Argh! He does this to me every time! I'm sick of it!"
He knocks his athletic bag to the floor and looks at the camera.
Chris: "This isn't over Quackenbush! You hear me? This...is...not...over."

Mike Quackenbush's dressing room

Louden: "Hey, Mike. It looks like you really made Chris Hero lose it. He says he wants another shot at you."
Mike: "That's fine with me."
He looks at the camera.
Mike: "But this time, if you want to bring your friend along, just ask. I can find a partner and then no one will feel left out."
Louden:"You know, I think I know just the guy you need to talk to..."
Louden walks off camera and fading into the distance you can hear him talk to himself: "...bah,bah,bah..."

YOUR MID-WEEK UPDATE FOR PRO WRESTLING INDEPENDENT SPIRIT

ITEM: Following the events of last week's show, the main event for the PWIS' Chicago debut is set. Mike Quackenbush will team with Delirious to take on the the Kings of Wrestling - Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli. This match was prompted by Castagnoli's attempt at involving himself in last week's match between Hero and Quackenbush.

ITEM: In related news, Mike Quackenbush's fears have already come true. His personal involvement in the PWIS ring may have compromised his objectivity in the company's affairs. To maintain impartiality, Quackenbush has brought on veteran commissioner Charlie Cox. Cox will now call the shots in an official capacity, freeing Quackenbush to compete in the ring.

ITEM: Also appearing on this week's show at the Berwyn Eagle's Club, co-presented by AAW, will be Bryan Danielson, Colt Cabana, and Shane Hollister. Plus many more.

INTRO

Louden Noxious: "Welcome everyone to the the debut of Pro Wrestling Independent Spirit in the Chicago area. My name is Louden Noxious and I am your guide for tonight's journey into the future of professional wrestling. So strap yourselves in; the action is about to begin."

MATCH #1

Alofa vs. Phil Davis

Phil Davis is accompanied to ringside by Superstar Sean. At the sound of the bell Alofa charges Phil and puts him down with a big elbow. As Phil gets up he is hit by a devastating clothesline and covered for the three count. "There's a measure of revenge for what the Heartbreak Express did to his brother Samu at our last show!" says Louden. Superstar Sean gets in the ring and blasts Alofa from behind. The Heartbreak Express then proceed to put the boots to him. Suddenly from the back comes Alofa's other brother, Afa Jr. The four men are soon involved in a riotous melee around the venue. "This is out of control!" yells Louden. After many minutes, security manages to separate the two sides and force them back to the locker room.

Winner: Alofa

Once the ruckus has died down a man enters the ring followed by Louden.
Louden: "Ladies and gentlemen, the Commissioner of Pro Wrestling Independent Spirit: Charlie Cox!"
Cox: "Thank you, Louden. What just happened here is unacceptable. Obviously there's some bad blood going on here and it needs to be taken care of in the ring. So the next time we're here in Berwyn these two teams will have a match. (crowd cheers) But I can't risk having someone in the audience getting hurt or the concession stand being destroyed so the match is going to have to be contained inside a steel cage!" (crowd goes crazy)
Louden: "That sounds like a great idea! What do you think Berwyn?" (crowd continues going crazy)

MATCH #2

2 Cold Scorpio vs. Ricky Landell

Scorpio starts the match with a series of acrobat kicks, stunning the young grappler. He follows up with some high flying moves and finishes off Landell with his Scorpio Splash.

Winner: 2 Cold Scorpio

MATCH #3

Shane Hollister vs. Adam Pearce

The crowd shows their appreciation for local AAW star Shane Hollister. Pearce has a tough go of it trying to counter the inventive offense of Hollister. He manages to hurt Hollister a few times but Hollister proves resilient enough to withstand even Pearce's viscious Jumping Piledriver. Finally, Pearce is caught be yet another variation of Hollister's modified Ace Crusher and loses the fall.

Winner: Shane Hollister

MATCH #4

Colt Cabana vs. Ken Doane

Colt starts out taunting Doane leading a cheer of KENNY!!! Soon the crowd gets into it and Doane paces the ring with his hands over his ears. The angry Doane attacks Colt and punishes him for the the early portion of the match. Colt rallies when the Chicago crowd gets behind him and he soon traps his opponent in the Billy Goat's Curse. Doane withstands the submission hold for a long duration until Colt finally releases it. The move has taken it's toll however and Cabana pins Doane after a Tombstone Piledriver. After the match Colt asks the crowd to give it up for Kenny. "You sure showed spirit kid!" Colt shouts at the departing Doane.
Louden: "Independent Spirit is what I'm sure he meant."

Winner: Colt Cabana

MATCH #5

Bryan Danielson vs. Necro Butcher

Danielson starts the match with some powerful strikes and tries an early pin but Necro kicks out and starts beating down Danielson with his brawling style. Danielson tries countering with technical wrestling but the Butcher punches or kicks him in response to each move. It isn't until Danielson decides to brawl himself that he begins to take the advantage. It is not long before Necro taps to the Guillotine Choke.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

Louden joins a victorious Danileson in the ring: "Congratulations! You are now 2-0. What are your plans for the future in PWIS?"
Danielson: "Well, Louden, I intend to keep winning and show everyone that I am the Best In the World!"
Louden: "Who on the roster would you like to wrestle next?"
Danielson: "I think the one man I would like to test my skills against is probably the only guy here who has a more technical style than I do: Mike Quackenbush."
Louden: "Hopefully we will be able to see that match soon. Thanks, Bryan."

MAIN EVENT

Mike Quackenbush & Delirious vs. Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli

Hero and Quackenbush start the match. Quackenbush displays his usual technical excellence early but Hero rebounds and tags in Claudio who grinds Quackenbush with his superior strength. Hero tags back in and maintains the advantage over his foe. Quackenbush kicks out of two Rubik's Cubes but Hero starts to get cocky and makes a mistake landing hard outside the ring. Quackenbush tags in Delirious who hits Hero with a Panic Attack as soon as he gets back in the ring. He follows with the Chemical Imbalance #2 and gets the pin on Hero. As the winning team leaves the ring area, Hero just sits in the middle of the ring dumbfounded as Claudio tries to console him.

Winners: Mike Quackenbush & Delirious

AFTERMATH

Chris Hero's dressing room

The camera approaches Hero as he sits slouched over on a bench. Claudio intercepts the cameraman: "He's not talking to anyone right now. Leave."
Claudio crowds the camerman out the door.

The Heartbreak Express are exiting the building with some questionable lady friends

Louden: "Hey, guys. Can I get a word with you about what happened tonight?."
Superstar Sean: "Hey, daddy. Listen up. This party is going to be VIP only. You can't tag along."
Louden:"Hey, that's okay. I haven't had my shots anyway..."
Superstar Sean: "What was that?"
Louden: "Oh, nothing. No, what I wanted to ask you about was the match Commissioner Cox made for you against the Samoan Island Tribe."
Fabulous Phil: (stepping forward menacingly)"What about it?"
Superstar Sean: "Hey, baby, they don't want no part of us. We took care of those hairstyle disasters once, we'll do it again."
Louden: "Well, what do you think about it being inside a steel cage?"
Superstar Sean: "A cage? What are you talking about?" (looking worried)
Louden: "Yeah..."
Fabulous Phil: "Get out of here, geek." (he ushers Sean and the ladies out the door)
As the door closes behind them you can hear Superstar Sean ask: "What did he mean: 'a cage'?"

ITEM: This week's event will be coming to you live from the West End Youth Center in Allentown, PA co-presented with Wrestling Is Fun! An exciting card of all-ages action with appearances by: Delirious, Mike Quackenbush, WIF! star Juan Francisco de Coronado, and many others. Appearing in the main event will be the Heartbreak Express taking on the team of Colt Cabana and 2 Cold Scorpio.

INTRO

Louden Noxious comes our with a lot of energy and introduces himself to the crowd. He high fives and jokes with the kids at ringside. "Okay! Here comes our first wrestler of the night! He's kind of a jerk but let's see if we can cheer him up: Adam Pearce!" Pearce comes out and saunters arrogantly around the ring in his sequined robe. Some of the kids try to say "hi" or high five him but he just glares and moves on. After he gets in the ring and starts to remove his robe rhythmic island music comes over the sound system and Afa Jr. comes out in traditional Samoan garb and dances in the aisle with a big smile. The crowd is enjoying it until Pearce grabs the microphone from Louden: "Are you here to wrestle or dance around like an idiot?!" The crowd boos him. Afa Jr. enters the ring.

MATCH #1

Adam Pearce vs. Afa Jr.

Afa Jr. man-handles Pearce with his superior size and power. He finishes Pearce with a head butt drop to the crowd's delight.

Winner: Afa Jr.

MATCH #2

Ricky Landell vs. Juan Francisco de Coronado

Landell enters the ring first and waves to the crowd. Coronado follows soon after and spends nearly ten minutes stalling and delaying while Herbert primps and preens him. The crowd gets restless and kids are yelling at him. Landell keeps his cool but when Coronado is finally ready and the bell rings, he rushes Coronado and quickly beats him after two consecutive Fisherman's Busters and picks up his first win in PWIS.

Winner: Ricky Landell

MATCH #3

Ken Doane vs. Blue Meanie

Doane sneers at the crowd as he enters the ring and admires his abs telling them they wish they were built like him. His demeanor changes though when his opponent comes out. He doesn't know what to make of Meanie but the crowd loves Da Blue Guy. As they face off before the bell, Doane looks Meanie over and asks the ref if this is some kind of joke. The ref shrugs and signals for the bell. Doane starts strong against the Meanie but Meanie recovers and really takes it to his young opponent. Doane fights back but is caught by a neckbreaker and pinned. Doane leaves the ring area angry as Meanie dances with the kids at ringside.

Winner: Blue Meanie

MATCH #4

Mike Quackenbush vs. Claudio Castagnoli

Claudio begins the match throwing Quack around like a rag doll, awing the crowd. Quack really plays up his David to Claudio's Goliath. Quack eventually overcomes the size disadvantage with his lightning quick technical arsenal. Eventually Claudio regains the advantage and pins Quack after two Ricola Bombs.

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli

Louden climbs into the ring after intermission: "I'd like you all to meet a friend of mine..." Delirious' music starts and he comes out in his usual frenzied pace circling the ring. Everyone is drawn in by his infectious energy. Once in the ring, Louden and him have an incomprehensible conversation. One might think... But it seems a lot of the kids at ringside know what's up and echo the delirious one's banter of 'bah, bah, bah'. The wackiness is interrupted by the increasingly disgruntled Chris Hero: "You all seem to think this goof is some kind of super hero or something. Well, my name is Hero. Chris Hero. And I'm the one you should be paying attention to."
Louden: "Don't listen to him everyone. His name may be Hero but he's a villain if I've ever seen one."
Hero jumps in the ring and makes a threatening move in Louden's direction but Delirious steps between them and Hero backs off. Louden leaves and the bell rings.

MATCH #5

Delirious vs. Chris Hero

Delirious' initial blitz forces Hero to seek refuge outside the ring. Delirious follows but Hero back suplexes him on the announcers table making Louden dive for cover. Back in the ring Hero pummels Delirious mercilessly. Delirious escapes the Hangman's Clutch only to be taken out by the Hero's Welcome. Hero jumps up and down laughing victoriously.

Winner: Chris Hero

MAIN EVENT

Colt Cabana & Too Cold Scorpio vs. The Heartbreak Express

The HBE come to the ring first and Superstar Sean's customary antics draw the ridicule of the crowd. He struts and minces around the ring while the kids point and laugh at him. Soon the groovy strains of disco music come over the PA as Cabana and Scorpio make their entrance and funk out at ringside with the fans. Once everyone is in the ring Superstar Sean moves to the middle of the ring, drops to one knee and flexes both arms: "What do ya think of these guns baby?" The crowd laughs and Colt mocks astonishment. He composes himself and steps forward with his index finger raised to Scorpio: "Wait, wait, I got this..." He puts his fists on his hips and puffs out his chest for an old timey wrestler's pose. Scorpio nods in approval and starts clapping encouraging the crowd to join him. Sean stands up with a sour look on his face and Colt heads back to his corner. Fabulous Phil steps forward and points at Scorpio then flexes his bicep which is at least more developed than his brother's. Scorpio puts up both hands and steps up: "Whoah, whoah. This is how I do it." He breaks out the dance moves with splits and spins. Back on his feet, he backs up hand out indicating to Fabulous Phil that it's his turn. Phil looks around the audience feeling the pressure and clumsily kicks up his heels only to trip over his own feet. The crowd roars with laughter. He growls at the ref: "Start the match!"
Fabulous Phil gets the jump on Scorpio right away and tagging in Superstar Sean they put Scorpio down with the Heartbreaker three times but Scorpio kicks out each time. Sean misses an elbow drop and Scorpio tags in Colt. The match goes back and forth at this point. Eventually, the more experienced team comes out on top when Phil pins Scorpio after another Heartbreaker. Superstar Sean starts strutting around outside the ring drawing the ire of the crowd. Colt grabs his towel, sneaks up behind Sean and snaps his posterior with it yelling: "It's hard to miss a target that big!" He continues this chasing Sean to the back.

Winner: The Heartbreak Express

AFTERMATH

Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli in their dressing room

Hero: "AAAHHH!!!! That feels good! Feels like I'm getting that monkey off my back!"
Claudio: "That's right. Now we can look ahead to our other plans."
Hero: "Oh yes. No we can start taking care of business. Starting with entering ourselves in the Spirit of Cooperation Tag Team Tournament. Assemble whatever little teams you can find Quackenbush. It won't matter. No one will be able to stop us!"

Colt Cabana and 2 Cold Scorpio packing their bags

Scorpio: "Sorry for letting you down out there Colt. Those guys may be clowns but they're better than they look."
Colt: "Hey, don't worry about it Scorpio. You can't win 'em all. But I think we got something here. If we tag together a little longer I think we can make a splash in that thing they're doing next month."
Scorpio: "You mean that tag team tournament. Yeah. Yeah, okay. Let's do it."

YOUR MID-WEEK UPDATE FOR PRO WRESTLING INDEPENDENT SPIRIT

ITEM: This week's event will be coming to you live from the Excalibur Night Club in Chicago, IL co-presented with Resistance Pro. An exciting night of action headlined by a battle between the two top men in PWIS, Bryan Danielson and Colt Cabana. Also scheduled to appear: 2 Cold Scorpio, Mike Quackenbush, and Robert 'Ego' Anthony.

ITEM: Commissioner Charlie Cox announced this week that PWIS officials have successfully petitioned for the Heartbreak Express to get a title shot at the CWFH Heritage Tag Team Champions, the Tribe, at the PWIS/CWFH supercard on March 31.

ITEM: On Sunday, April 14 at the Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium, PWIS presents the Spirit of Cooperation Tag Team Tournament. Eight of the top teams in independent wrestling will meet to determine who most exemplifies the teamwork aspect of professional wrestling. The first two teams to throw their hat in the ring are Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli - the Kings of Wrestling and the Young Bucks - Matt and Nick Jackson. Billy: "It's my pleasure. I think PWIS and Resistance Pro share similar philosophies. We want to put on 'wrestling' shows. We're not here to sell t-shirts or to get a foot in the door in Hollywood. We're here to give the fans great action and and a good time."

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Afa Jr.

The two powerhouses had a hard fought battle which ended with Afa being pinned after a Ricola Bomb

MATCH #2

Ricky Landell vs. Drake Younger

Landell's technical skill outmatched Younger from the start. Younger fought back and tried to take the action outside the ring but Landell suplexed him through a table then pinned him in the ring after a double-arm underhook suplex.

Ken Doane vs. Robert Anthony

Doane instantly tears into Anthony. The Resistance Pro fans in the audience are stunned as their favorite is pummeled. Anthony tries to recuperate outside the ring a few times but Doane follows, adding to the punishment. Believing his opponent is vulnerable, Doane climbs to the top rope. Anthony kips up, tosses Doane to the mat and serves up some Taco Pizza for the win. The crowd goes crazy. Doane is despondent, grabbing the ref and questioning the count.
Louden: "Looks like Kenny has Chris Hero syndrome!"

MATCH #4

Mike Quackenbush vs. Necro Butcher

Necro tries brawling in the in ring with Quackenbush but is far too clumsy to land a blow. Quack lands a running palm strike (Louden: "Shotei!") Necro bails out of the ring and Quackenbush makes the mistake of following him. Necro bashes him all over ringside. Throwing his battered opponent back into the ring, Necro slams him to the mat with two Tiger Drivers for the win.

Winner: Necro Butcher

Intermission: Louden is walking through the club: "There's some commotion going on here in the back of the club. I'm going to check it out." He comes to a roped off area, a party atmosphere on the other side. He tries to enter but a large bouncer blocks his way. Peering around the hulking guard we can see the Heartbreak Express at a table with a group of young ladies. It's hard to miss them, as the tuxedo's they are wearing would have been out of place even thirty years ago. " Hey! Hey, guys! Can I have a word with you for a minute?" Superstar Sean looks up quizzically, peering around for the source of the interruption. Seeing Louden, he laughs' "VIP only, baby! Come back when you move out of your mom's basement!"
Louden looks at the camera, "My mom's basement is very nice I'll have you know." He addresses Superstar Sean again: "I wanted to ask you about the tag team tournament next month. Please, just a moment of your time."
Superstar Sean: "Okay, Rufus. Let him in. But if he touches any of the girls, I want you to touch his face!"
Louden: "I wanted to ask you two why you haven't officially entered yourselves in the Spirit of Cooperation Tag Team Tournament? (looks at the camera) Which occurs on April 14 in North Carolina."
Superstar Sean: "Listen daddy, after next weeks show you'll be looking at the new Heritage Tag Team Champions. Why would we bother with some Podunk curtain-jerker tournament?"
Louden: "Well, we at PWIS think this will be a great showcase for all of the top teams in wrestling to highlight their abilities."
Superstar Sean: "Well, the top team in wrestling won't be there. We're moving up to the big time, baby! Now beat it! Rufus!"
Rufus rudely removes Louden from the VIP area to the laughter of the women present.

MATCH #5

2 Cold Scorpio vs. Chris Hero

Scorpio comes out with a flurry of kicks and suplexes. Hero cannot recover from the onslaught and is put down with a sitout powerbomb. Scorpio circles the ring high-fiving the fans while Hero sits stunned on the mat.
Louden: " I guess Hero hasn't shaken his losing streak after all."

Winner: 2 Cold Scorpio

MAIN EVENT

Colt Cabana vs. Bryan Danielson

The crowd is buzzing with anticipation for the main event; the winner will be left sitting alone at the top of the PWIS rankings. Danielson enters first with a warm reaction from the crowd. This is outshined, however, when local boy Cabana comes to the ring. The competitors shake hands with good sportsmanship and the contest begins.
Colt starts strong, whipping Danielson around the ring and using his size to knock Danielson to the mat. Danielson fights back forcing Colt to leave the ring to escape a brutal series of kicks. Danielson launches himself from the top rope, suicide diving into the crowd, knocking Colt senseless and almost unable to meet the refs count outside the ring. Colt turns the match around when Danielson misses an elbow from the top rope. It's Danielson's turn to take refuge outside the ring and when Colt follows, Danielson gives him a back superplex through a table from the apron. Despite their bias, the crowd goes crazy. Back inside the ring, a weakened Cabana gets trapped in a LeBell Lock. Just as it looks like he might escape it, Danielson rolls it over into a Guillotine Choke. Colt holds out for a while but the end is near. Danielson releases the hold, climbs to the top rope, and delivers a flying elbow drop to a barely conscious Cabana and gets the pin. The two shake hands after Cabana is able to gather his wits and the crowd gives them a standing ovation.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

AFTERMATH

Outside Chris Hero's dressing room

Claudio is pounding on the door and trying the handle unsuccessfully. "Come on, Chris. Open up."
He stands there a moment, shakes his head, sighs, and walks away.

Colt Cabana's dressing room

Cold sits back against the wall, exhausted and hurting.
Scorpio: "Good match out there Colt. You put up a hell of a fight."
Colt: "I guess it just wasn't enough. I don't know..."
Scorpio: "Hey. Don't get down on yourself. Besides we have a tag team tournament to win. Waddaya say?"
Colt: "Okay Scorpio. I'm with you brother."
