ROHWrestling.com - ROH World Championship Match set for First Anniversary Show and former Stablemates collide!:
Note from Nigel McGuinness: I will say more about the conduct of Sami Callihan and CZW live and in person at the First Anniversary Show. A challenge to ROH has been issued by CZW, and I have accepted. The matches will be announced in the coming weeks.
Just two weeks ago at Final Battle, Davey Richards achieved his dream of becoming a World Champion by defeating Roderick Strong in an all time classic match in Manhattan. Many have speculated as to who Davey's first challenger may be, and today we can announce it will be none other than the 'Generic Luchador' himself, El Generico! Generico defeated long time rival Kevin Steen in a violent Dog Collar match at Final Battle and ROH officials feel he deserves a one-on-one shot against the champion! Will Davey's reign end on the first defense? We'll find out at the Anniversary Show!
Michael Elgin not only took out Rhino, but he attacked Truth Martini at Final Battle. Truth be told (pun intended), Final Battle was not a great night for the House of Truth. Roderick Strong has said he doesn't want losers in the House of Truth and Rhino has been ousted from the stable as well. Strong issued a challenge to Elgin for the First Anniversary Show and the challenge was accepted immediately! It's Strong vs. Elgin in Philadelphia!
Card #11; "First Anniversary Show"; Philadelphia, PA: ROH World Championship: Davey Richards (ch) vs. El Generico Michael Elgin vs. Roderick Strong with Truth Martini CZW and ROH will have a series of matches against each other!

It's a Future Shock Showdown in Philly!:
Former tag team partners Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole have had more than just one meeting here in ROH. In fact, they were opposite one another in the main event back at The Era of Honor Begins. And some may remember back at Revolution Weekend in Dearborn, they met each other in a tag match where O'Reilly would take the fall to Jay Lethal. They brawled to the backstage area in a four corner survival at Respect is Earned. Several cards later, a Revolution Weekend rematch would go down this time with O'Reilly seizing the victory by submitting Lethal.
Then, at "Glory By Honor" in Philadelphia, Cole and O'Reilly met in a singles match where this time O'Reilly would beat Cole directly to become the first ROH Pure Wrestling Champion in what was heralded as a Match of the Year Candidate. O'Reilly would again beat Lethal, but what happened at Final Battle set the stage for this match.
O'Reilly defeated Eddie Edwards in a classic match, forcing Edwards to exhaust all three rope break attempts before finally submitting him with the Guillotine Choke. O'Reilly refused to break the hold, which prompted Adam Cole to save his mentor and challenge his former friend for the Pure Championship.
"These two want to get at each other, why not give them the chance?", said ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness. "They have a score to settle and it will be settled in the place it all started. Philadelphia."
Which member of Future Shock will leave Philadelphia with the Pure Wrestling Championship? We'll find out at the First Anniversary Show!
Card #11; "First Anniversary Show"; Philadelphia, PA: ROH World Championship: Davey Richards (ch) vs. El Generico ROH Pure Wrestling Championship: Kyle O'Reilly (ch) vs. Adam Cole Roderick Strong with Truth Martini vs. Michael Elgin A five match ROH vs. CZW series will take place!

It's CZW vs. ROH in Philadelphia!: At Final Battle, Sami Callihan lead a group of CZW stars in an assault not only on Davey Richards, but the entire ROH roster. This attack was followed up shortly thereafter with a challenge from CZW owner DJ Hyde. The challenge was for ROH to put their best stars in action against DJ and the top stars from CZW.
"Following that purely classless move at our biggest event ever, I couldn't say no to this offer", said Nigel McGuinness. "Someone has to teach these morons some respect."
"We deserve to be on this stage just as much as the so called 'real wrestlers' do", replied CZW owner DJ Hyde. "Look at most of your roster, a lot of them have passed through CZW at some point. We're the ones making the stars while ROH makes the money. Where's the justice in that?"
Nevertheless, CZW has the chance to prove their superiority in Philadelphia. Philly is a place both companies call home, and it will serve as the proving ground for this battle. CZW demanded a shot at a Ring of Honor championship, and much to their dismay the only championship open for a challenge was the Tag Team Championship. The Briscoes sent CZW and open contract and will meet Philly's Most Wanted.
Elsewhere on the card, Sami Callihan will meet Bryan Danielson in a singles match. Callihan, as usual, had a lot to say about the match.
"It's bullshit", Sami said on a recent podcast. "The thing the fans remember from Final Battle is me laying Davey Richards out. I was the one standing tall at the end of the show and I don't get a title shot for that?"
Davey Richards had this to say to Sami, "There's a better chance of Hell freezing over than Sami Callihan challenging me for this belt. Earn your shot before you come after the alpha in the pack, boy."
Also part of this CZW vs. ROH series is Eddie Edwards vs. Masada in what should be a tremendous match. Kevin Steen will face CZW owner DJ Hyde and Danny Havoc will take on Rhino!
Who will emerge victorious in Philadelphia?

Hell Freezes Over in Vorhees!: "There's a better chance of Hell freezing over than Sami Callihan challenging me for this belt." -- Davey Richards
The American Wolf doesn't usually keep his thoughts to himself. He's an open and honest guy and when he has a problem with you, he will let you know. Davey was attacked yet again by Sami Callihan last weekend in Philadelphia and demanded this match with the "Ultraviolent Callihan Death Machine". Callihan accepted but only because this show was going to take place in CZW's backyard of Vorhees, NJ.
"This is my home turf, you guys don't get it", said Callihan. "Davey won't be cheered, he's not gonna have the ROHbots in the crowd for him. They're gonna be MY people, Davey. You don't stand a f--king chance!"
"I don't give a crap who's in the audience", Richards told ROH via e-mail. "If it's CZW fans, ROH fans, hell...I don't care if we have to do this empty arena style. I'm gonna kick Sami's ass and make him respect Ring of Honor."
Also signed is a tag match between Eddie Edwards and Adam Cole, and CZW's team of owner DJ Hyde, and the "Ultraviolent Golden Boy" Drake Younger. Adam Cole has been mentored by Eddie Edwards and has seen that tutoring pay off, recently beating Kyle O'Reilly to become the second Pure Wrestling Champion. DJ Hyde had this to say:
"Adam knows where he came from. He wouldn't be anything without CZW, he knows that. If you guys think he's gonna go to bat for you, you're outta your f--king minds."
Cole replied simply saying, "If DJ believes that, he's the one who's out of his mind. I love ROH, and I WILL stand and fight for the company I love in Vorhees."
Card #12; "Hell Freezes Over": Vorhees, NJ: ROH World Championship: Davey Richards (ch) vs. Sami Callihan Eddie Edwards and Adam Cole vs. Drake Younger and DJ Hyde Bryan Danielson vs. Kyle O'Reilly

The Bucks Cash in Their Shot in Vorhees!:
At Final Battle, the Young Bucks won a classic tag team scramble to gain a shot at the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship. The Bucks bided their time but have asked for a shot at the Briscoes at our next show, Hell Freezes Over, in Vorhees!
The Bucks explained to ROHWrestling.com that they have waited too long for a shot at the tag titles and it should have been them challenging for the gold at Final Battle, not ANX. The Bucks have guaranteed victory over Dem Boys in Vorhees, but can the Bucks make good on that promise?
Also announced for our debut in Vorhees are two more ROH vs. CZW matches as Roderick Strong takes on Truth Martini and Mike Mondo faces the University City Stretcher himself, Drew Gulak. In addition to those matches, Jay Lethal looks to finally beat Mike Bennett in singles action, Homicide will take on Tommaso Ciampa and in a Revolution: Canada rematch, El Generico teams up with C&C to take on S.C.U.M. in a street fight!
Card #12; "Hell Freezes Over": Vorhees, NJ: ROH World Championship: Davey Richards (ch) vs. Sami Callihan ROH World Tag Team Championship: Jay and Mark Briscoe (ch) vs. The Young Bucks of Nick and Matt Jackson Eddie Edwards and Adam Cole vs. Drake Younger and DJ Hyde Roderick Strong with Truth Martini vs. Danny Havoc Mike Mondo vs. Drew Gulak Bryan Danielson vs. Kyle O'Reilly Jay Lethal vs. Mike Bennett with Maria and Brutal Bob Revolution: Canada Rematch; Street Fight: El Generico, Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander vs. S.C.U.M. It's A Yearly Tradition...
Last year, we crowned our first ROH World Champion at the inaugural Survival of the Fittest event. This year, the tournament will determine what man will receive a ROH World Championship match at any time between now and Final Battle II. This year, CZW has sent two representatives in the form of Drake Younger and ROH Pure Wrestling Champion, Adam Cole. Cole turned his back on ROH and "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards last time in Vorhees, NJ. Cole also laid out the ROH World Champion in Vorhees and has made the statement that he's going to take the World Championship to CZW with him!
Also in the tournament is a host of the top talent in ROH, including Michael Elgin, Rhino, Mike Bennett, Kyle O'Reilly, El Generico, The Briscoes, Rhino, Roderick Strong, Jay Lethal and Bryan Danielson! If these ten have anything to say about it, nobody from CZW will advance to the finals!
On top of this, Masada's open challenge has been accepted by the most sadistic man in all of Ring of Honor: Kevin Steen! What will happen when these two meet in a No Disqualification match?!
And to finish off the card, Davey Richards has granted Willie Mack a World Championship match due to Mack defeating Richards on a NWA Hollywood event recently. Will lightning strike twice? Can Willie Mack score the biggest upset in ROH history?
We'll find out the answers to this, and many other questions in Chicago!
Card #13; "Survival of the Fittest II": Chicago, IL: ROH World Championship: Davey Richards (ch) vs. Willie Mack No Disqualification Match: Kevin Steen vs. Masada Survival of the Fittest Finals: Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Adam Cole with Mia Yim vs. Michael Elgin Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Mike Bennett with Maria and Brutal Bob vs. Kyle O'Reilly Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: El Generico vs. Mark Briscoe Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Drake Younger vs. Roderick Strong with Truth Martini Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Rhino vs. Jay Briscoe Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Bryan Danielson vs. Jay Lethal
