. . . I'm seriously losing interest in the ROH game. I love everything Filsinger Games does, but we're 5 teasers in, and I'm not particularly excited about any of them.
Don't get me wrong. I think the cards we've seen so far look amazing, but I'm ready to be wowed by some stronger roster selections (like I was the night that the Briscoes cards were released), and none of the teasers have done it for me. And before anyone says it; no, Kevin Steen doesn't excite me (because of his poor work rate and odd fit as ROH champ, among other things).
I'm holding out for Richards, Edwards, Lethal,WGTT and Elgin (among others). Here's hoping one of them gets the teaser treatment soon.

Kevin Steen and "poor work rate" does not belong in the same sentence. It does not compute.

Remember, Tom and the gang never release major names until about halfway through the teasers. That means we should be getting major names by September/October. Granted I say the exact same things (lack of interest) when teasers for LOW sets are released at first.

I guess you forgot about our conversation the day before Lou Thesz was revealed. This set has a huge roster. Show a little patience before crying the sky is falling.

I never cry, and I didn't forget the conversation. Different animal altogether, but we'll see what comes.

There are 19 names yet to come. And a lot of weeks between now and December.

What I like about the new recent sets is that there is something for everyone, but that doesn't mean that everything is for everyone.
When Chikara was announced, that was a must buy for me. It was probably an 8 out of 10, only because I wasn't a fan of the color cards at first (and still prefer black and white). But I love Chikara so for this example to work lets put it at a 10.
NWA Hollywood is about a 6 for me. I don't know the promotion, I know some of the guys, it's a small set, but I'd probably use the cards.
ROH would be a 7 or 8 for me. I've never been able to follow ROH, but like the concept and have liked most of the cards revealed so far.
That said, CZW is about a 2 for me. I just don't care for that type of wrestling. If there were some names from other promotions I must have from it, I'd get it for crossover. But for now I'm just not interested. And that's ok, because they are giving me plenty to be interested in.

I'm less excited for this set but that has more to do with being completely cold on the RoH product than anything else.
Davey Richards isn't with the company anymore so I doubt you'll see him in this set.

Davey Richards isn't with the company anymore so I doubt you'll see him in this set. Last I read he was going to be coming back in September. Also, he was mentioned in the latest ROH newswire on their website today. That would lead me to believe they are still planning on using him unless something broke this evening that I didn't read. As far as the subject at hand, ROH has a core roster of about 30 right now, so it's a good bet that pretty much everyone "important" will be in this first set of 24. Waiting for the week by week reveals can be hard, but we've still got a couple of months until the release date. I'm also relatively sure the art is still in the process of being completed and some of those guys may not even be ready to be seen yet.
