. . . I'm seriously losing interest in the ROH game. I love everything Filsinger Games does, but we're 5 teasers in, and I'm not particularly excited about any of them. Don't get me wrong. I think the cards we've seen so far look amazing, but I'm ready to be wowed by some stronger roster selections (like I was the night that the Briscoes cards were released), and none of the teasers have done it for me. And before anyone says it; no, Kevin Steen doesn't excite me (because of his poor work rate and odd fit as ROH champ, among other things). I'm holding out for Richards, Edwards, Lethal,WGTT and Elgin (among others). Here's hoping one of them gets the teaser treatment soon. With respect, I could not disagree more. While I would love everyone you mentioned in addition to those already announced, I think starting with the World Champ (regardless of one's individual feelings about the guy) is about as mega as you can get. Strong, as a former champ, is a major player, and Ciampa and Bennett are good up-and-comers. Just my opinion, but honestly, I am more excited for this set than I was for CHIKARA. ('Course, that may be because of my cunning plan to complement my current fed with...well, that would be telling.)

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I'd agree that all those mentioned would be in the set (Elgin, Edwards, WGTT, Lethal) and that a month ago I would have thought Richards would be out. I also read that he should be back around September too. I wonder what they do have planned for him since Cornette stated that he would not get another World title shot.
Since I'd expect most of the wrestling talent to be there I'm wondering about manager charts for Truth Martini, Brutal Bob, RD Evans, and Prince Nana.

If Evans was going to get a manager chart, I don't think he'd be on Bennett's card, so I wouldn't expect one for him nor a card for Evans probably. Martini and Nana have outside chances for such IMO.

Davey Richards isn't with the company anymore so I doubt you'll see him in this set. Richards is scheduled to return to Ring of Honor on September 15th at "Death Before Dishonor X: State of Emergency," where he is expected to address his future. He's also (still) on the website.

Anxiously, waiting...
Side note. I am sad that we missed out on the Kings of Wrestling, but I am very happy that Claudio just one the US title.

Not every name announced in a set is going to excite everyone, but dag bro it's a 24 card set, and only FIVE names have been announced so far, so give it time. Kevin Steen, even though I'm not a huge fan, I do disagree with your comments. He's the champ, and there's no better way to start a ROH set than with the ROH Champ, along with a sick drawing. Roderick Strong has been an ROH staple and is a ROH Triple Crown Champion and as for Mike Bennett, Maria & Brutal Bob, c'mon man that's just a sweet ass looking card! Tomasso Ciampa who I admittedly haven't seen all that much of has tremendous potential, and Rhino, is a BIG name that easily could have been a standout in a Legends set (and still may be.) The first 5 names announced are excellent choices. Just like you, and probably alot of others as well, I'm also hoping to get Jay Lethal, & even moreso the World's Greatest Tag Team. With 19 more names being revealed over the next few months, I would think there's a pretty good chance that we'll get the ones you so desire, and an even better chance that you'll be interested in the set again. The slow build to the release is all part of the fun, just chill and enjoy the ride.

Davey Richards isn't with the company anymore so I doubt you'll see him in this set. Last I read he was going to be coming back in September. Also, he was mentioned in the latest ROH newswire on their website today. That would lead me to believe they are still planning on using him unless something broke this evening that I didn't read. As far as the subject at hand, ROH has a core roster of about 30 right now, so it's a good bet that pretty much everyone "important" will be in this first set of 24. Waiting for the week by week reveals can be hard, but we've still got a couple of months until the release date. I'm also relatively sure the art is still in the process of being completed and some of those guys may not even be ready to be seen yet. I wasn't aware. It was sounding like both parties were pretty done with each other earlier in the summer.

maddog1981, you may be onto something. ROH as a whole seems less interesting. I'm holding tickets to the Chicago PPV, but the card isn't really inspiring me either. I was excited to hear that Davey Richards will be in the house to cut a promo (and who knows what else).
Chikara Heritage, I get what you're saying about the power of having a champ signed for the set, and I respect that, but to my mind Steen is not anything special, belt or no belt. Further, I'm starting to think he won't be champ come release time, and he certainly won't be champ in my fed (it's called discard to the pile of unused cards).
For those who are reminding me about only five released names so far, I get that. Please let me (respectfully) remind you . . . . re-read the title of the thread (with emphasis on the "so far" part).

Not every card resonates with every player. I have Nick Madrid and Johnny Yuma sitting in my "unused pile" currently, though Yuma will emerge if/when we get an official Johnny Goodtime card. Like I said, I respect your opinion. If the ROH set doesn't do it for you, maybe another set will; or maybe the next few weeks' previews will sway you. Different strokes, and all that.

Upon re-reading the title of the thread, I wouldn't have changed anything I said. I see the set shaping up very nicely and so far, I'm pretty effin psyched for it. Hopefully some of the names coming soon will change the way you feel.
