Mr. Horrorshow presents the World of CHIKARA Pro!

[Horrorshow]

The Year is 2002. A mysterious entrepreneur calling himself only Horrorshow announces the arrival of a brand new professional wrestling company called CHIKARA, an independent promotion specifically designed to present family-friendly entertainment. Influenced by international groups like Japan’s Michinoku Pro, Toryumon and Osaka Pro, and Mexico’s CMLL, CHIKARA would set out to promote fast-paced, colorful shows with an emphasis on multiple-person tag team matches.

Horrorshow stated his intention to promote CHIKARA shows throughout the state of Pennsylvania starting in May 2002 at the St. John’s Auditorium in Allentown. The company’s full 2002 schedule was announced as follows:

Horrorshow highlighted that CHIKARA would feature a number of championships, tournaments and annual awards for its competitors to battle over, most notably:

Young Lions Cup

CHIKARA’s premier singles championship. The first ever Young Lions Cup Champion will be decided in July 2002 via a special single elimination tournament. (Please note that unlike the real CHIKARA, previous winners will be able to compete for the Young Lions Cup).

Los Campeonatos de Parejas

CHIKARA’s tag team championship. The first ever campeones will be decided in September 2002 via a special single elimination tournament. (Please note that unlike the real CHIKARA, title matches for Los Campeonatos will be one fall contests and challengers do not qualify for title opportunities by winning three consecutive tag team matches).

ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Championship

Currently held by the flamboyant leader of Sweet & Sour International, “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney.

Torneo Cibernetico

CHIKARA’s season finale. The match format sees two teams of twelve, one tecnico, one rudo, face off against each other. It uses standard Lucha Libre tag-team rules with elimination occurring with a pinfall, submission, disqualification or a count out and allows a wrestler to enter the match when their tag team partner exits the ring as well as when they tag out. A special 'batting' order system is used in which the wrestlers are given a specific order and may only tag in and out in this order.

Horrorshow also promised that CHIKARA will introduce additional championships and tournaments in future seasons.

* - Prior to the contest, The Order of the Neo Solar Temple and The Osirian Portal attempted to concoct a magical potion that would imbue them with supernatural strength. Unfortunately, due to Crossbones being distracted by Amasis' funky dance moves, the wrong ingredient was added to the foul elixir! Mantis and Crossbones drank the potion and immediately felt its negative effects! Amasis and Ophidian refused to consume the strange brew while Mantis rebuked Crossbones for botching the ritual!

** - Prior to the contest, "Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney complained to CHIKARA Officials about Delirious having stolen his ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television title belt while Daizee Haze attempted unsuccessfully to sweet talk Hallowicked into giving the belt back.

We’re just seven short days away from our next blockbuster show at the St. John‘s Auditorium in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the ultra sinister sounding

and man alive, after last weeks super heated tag team showdown that pitted “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush and his masked partner Jigsaw against “The King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston and Swiss sensation Claudio Castagnoli, CHIKARA officials have announced two colossal matches featuring the four rivals!

Eddie Kingston will team with the mysterious Osirian Portal to take on Jigsaw and his partners the British legend Johnny Saint and tenacious amateur wrestling specialist Tim Donst in trios competition while “Lightning” Mike will face off against the Snobby Swiss Aristocrat in singles action!

Welcome back CHIKARA faithful to another instalment of the CHIKARA Event Center with me, CHIKARA’s Senior Official Bryce Remsburg!

We’re gearing up here for our debut show next week on Friday July 5th in Reading, Pennsylvania at the Riverside Beneficial Association; one we’re whimsically calling

"Time Limit Draw!"

and rest assured that after the shocking beat down that “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw received at the hands of “The Kind of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli last week in Allentown, the atmosphere in Reading is guaranteed to be electric! Can “The Master of a Thousand Holds” and his enigmatic partner gain a measure of revenge over the team of Kingston and Double C; or will the Rudo duo continue to dominate? Shake your little booty on down to Reading next Friday to find out!

Two other men who aren’t having it all their own way right now are the ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Champion “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney and UltraMantis Black. Sweeney is desperately trying to recover his pilfered title belt from the Dark Minion of the Underworld himself, Hallowicked while Mantis’ luck seems to be going from bad to worse these last few weeks after The Order of the Neo Solar Temple’s dubious dabblings in the Black Arts! Please don’t try this at home kids!

In Reading, Sweeney and his tag team partner Daizee Haze will be teaming with Amasis and Ophidian of The Osirian Portal to take on The Colony and The Throwbacks in Atomicos action but no doubt “Sweet & Sour” will have their sights set on Incoherence during the show while UltraMantis Black will pit his wits against the Mat Master that is Blackpool’s own Johnny Saint in one-on-one competition!

* - Prior to the match, Sweet & Sour International are seen backstage in the locker room secretly plotting some diabolical scheme...

** - At the climax of the match, a confident looking Daizee Haze came to ring side and left an elaborately wrapped gift box labelled for Hallowicked in the Incoherence corner, before then making her exit. A confused Hallowicked opened the box and took out one of Haze‘s signature plastic daisies! Grabbing their chance, Los Ice Creams nailed the distracted Hallowicked with El Asesino and stole a cheap win!

*** - Kingston had been provoking Jigsaw constantly throughout the contest until the masked competitor could take no more of Eddie’s insults! Jigsaw was able to make “The King of Diamonds” eat a few of his words by brawling with the Rudo through the crowd before Kingston made an escape out of the building!

**** - A series of unfortunate slips, falls and accidents during the contest led to Mantis' defeat and the continuation of his self inflicted curse!

***** - At the climax of the match, a coy Hallowicked crept to ring side and left a small plastic pumpkin in the Rudo corner, before shyly departing. Intrigued, Haze opened the toy pumpkin and poured out a huge handful of love heart shaped, green and black colored candy! Seizing his opportunity, Dunkerton took advantage of the situation by smashing the distracted Haze with a stiff Lariat from behind to sneak a victory!

I agree with Bookerbill, you have a great fed going Horrorshow. I like your take on the origins of CHIKARA and the 7/5 show was fun. Johnny Saint over Ultramantis Black was a surprise and I like the idea of a curse befalling Ultramantis. The Hallowicked and Daizee Haze stuff is great as well. Looking forward to more action.
