I agree with Bookerbill, you have a great fed going Horrorshow. I like your take on the origins of CHIKARA and the 7/5 show was fun. Johnny Saint over Ultramantis Black was a surprise and I like the idea of a curse befalling Ultramantis. The Hallowicked and Daizee Haze stuff is great as well. Looking forward to more action. I really appreciate you taking the time to post in the thread, cruefan68; thank you for your charitable comments. I’ve jumped in at the deep end with the CHIKARA card game and I’m relieved to hear that I’m not sinking so far! I do plan on recreating one or two of the angles and storylines that we’ve seen in the real CHIKARA over the years, albeit with my own subtle twists but I’m having a blast coming up with my own ideas for the promotion and performers that I’ve loved following for the last decade. Coming up next, Young Lions Cup!

Claudio Castagnoli defeated Sugar Dunkerton when Castagnoli pinned Dunkerton following a Roaring European Uppercut!
(Claudio Castagnoli will face Johnny Saint in the Second Round)
* - UltraMantis Black accompanied Crossbones to the ring and seemed to pay close attention to Donst throughout the contest, nodding his approval at times and even applauding “Young Timothy” as his hand was raised in victory… ** - Hallowicked was disqualified for excessive punishment after Taylor attempted to examine the plastic flower that Daizee Haze had previously gifted to the Tecnico. At the same moment, “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney, calling the match at the Commentation Station, saw an opportunity to reclaim his stolen ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Championship belt from Hallowicked, and sneaked up to ringside while the furious Wicked pummelled Sexy Chuckie T. Seeing how enraged The Dark Minion of the Underworld was, a nervous Sweeney thought better of entering the fray and instead retreated back to the safety of the Commentation Station. After inflicting a serious amount of abuse on Taylor, Hallowicked was eventually restrained by CHIKARA officials and his tag team partner Delirious and taken to the back with the Tex-Arkana strap and his precious plastic daisy. *** - Quality match. **** - During his entrance, Jigsaw was viciously ambushed and injured by Claudio Castagnoli and “The King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston before "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush and The Colony appeared and forced the Rudos into retreat. Refusing to give up on his chance to win the Young Lions Cup, Jigsaw gamely fought a reluctant Fire Ant before Hot Property mercifully put the brave Wrestling Riddle away!

Young Lions Cup Second RoundIcarus defeated Tim Donst when Icarus pinned Donst following a Blu-Ray!* "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush defeated Amasis when Quackenbush pinned Amasis following a Quackendriver II!** (“Lightning” Mike Quackenbush will face Icarus in the Quarter Finals Round)"Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney defeated Chuck Taylor by count out!*** Ophidian defeated Daizee Haze by submission when Ophidian made Haze pass out in the Death Grip!**** (Ophidian will face “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney in the Quarter Finals Round)Delirious defeated Sara Del Rey by count out! UltraMantis Black defeated “The King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston by disqualification!***** (UltraMantis Black will face Delirious in the Quarter Finals Round)Soldier Ant defeated Fire Ant when Soldier Ant pinned Fire Ant following a Spinning Elbow Strike! Johnny Saint defeated Claudio Castagnoli by disqualification!***** (Johnny Saint will face Soldier Ant in the Quarter Finals Round)
* - Quality match.
** - After Quackenbush's win sealed a Quarter Final encounter with Icarus, the Rudo leader of F.I.S.T. was interviewed backstage and explained that it was time for the student to defeat the teacher and become the master!
*** - Sweeney made short work of Taylor who was still suffering the harsh effects of the punishment dealt to him 24 hours earlier by Hallowicked.
After the contest, Sweeney snatched the mic away from ring announcer, Carolina Jim and obnoxiously stated to the loud disapproval of the Philadelphia fans that he was going to win the YLC and have a Golden Cup for the Golden Palomino!
Sweeney then called out Hallowicked, demanding that the Technico bring his stolen ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Championship belt to Pittston, PA on August 2 at the next CHIKARA show where Sweet & Sour International would face Incoherence in tag team action! Sweeney vowed that he would pin Wicked that night and reclaim what was rightfully his!
Together with Delirious, Hallowicked emerged from the locker room with Sweeney’s strap and made it very clear that he and his tag team partner accepted the “Sweet & Sour” challenge as the CHIKARA faithful in attendance erupted in their chants of IN-CO-HERENCE! CLAP-CLAP-CLAPCLAPCLAP! IN-CO-HERENCE!
**** - After the contest, Hallowicked hit the ring to make Ophidian break his Death Grip submission hold. With Daizee having blacked out from the pain, Hallowicked saw Ophidian off before carrying Haze back to the locker room.
***** - Having already injured Jigsaw the previous night, Kingston and Castagnoli looked to have absolutely no interest in winning either of their respective Second Round matches. Instead both men sent a fierce message to the rest of the CHIKARA roster by decimating UltraMantis Black and Johnny Saint before being disqualified for excessive punishment!
After destroying Saint, Castagnoli was joined by Kingston in the ring and the Rudos explained that the YLC meant nothing to them and that they didn't need a Cup to prove that they are most feared unit in all of professional wrestling!

SHOW: Young Lions Cup - Night ThreeDATE: July 21, 2002VENUE: New AlhambraLOCATION: Philadelphia, PA
Young Lions Cup Quarter Finals"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush defeated Icarus by submission following a Chikara Special!* Ophidian defeated "Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney by disqualification!** (“Lightning” Mike Quackenbush will face Ophidian in the Semi Finals)UltraMantis Black defeated Delirious when Mantis pinned Delirious following a Praying Mantis Bomb!*** Johnny Saint defeated Soldier Ant when Saint pinned Soldier Ant following the Johnny Saint Special!**** (UltraMantis Black will face Johnny Saint in the Semi Finals)
* - An evenly matched and hard fought contest ended in controversy when Icarus tapped out with his foot clearly underneath the bottom rope…
** - After Ophidian’s entrance, Sweeney came out in possession of the plastic flower that Daizee Haze had previously gifted to Hallowicked! Sweeney grabbed a microphone and started to taunt Wicked, stating that he had something precious to Hallowicked and that Hallowicked had something precious to Sweeney; namely the stolen ICW/ICW Tex-Arkana Television Championship belt!
As the bell sounded to start the match, Sweeney noticed Hallowicked sprinting out from the locker room towards the squared circle. Panicking, “Sweet & Sour” tossed the plastic flower high through the air and into the hands of Ophidian before ducking out under the bottom rope. Hallowicked hit the ring and, seeing his prized daisy in the clutches of the Venomous and Vile Serpent from the Nile, proceeded to lariat the Egyptian Snake out of his boots while Sweeney performed his escape!
With no option available to referee Bryce Remsburg, the knocked out Ophidian had his limp arm raised in victory as Hallowicked recovered his flower and took off after Sweeney!
*** - After his beat down the previous night at the hands of “The King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston, Mantis warily came into the contest physically battered and mentally insecure due to the self inflicted curse that had plagued him for so many weeks! Strangely though, the punishment that Mantis had absorbed from Kingston had seemingly bashed said curse right out of him!
Imbued with a new sense of confidence and vigour, Mantis was a new man, or at least a new insect! Delirious, perhaps with his mind on Incoherence’s upcoming show down with Sweet & Sour International, was never in the match as the Angry Insect Evildoer dominated from bell to bell!
**** - Quality Match. Afterwards, Saint and Soldier Ant shook hands and were rewarded with a huge ovation from the crowd after putting on the best match of the night so far.
When asked about his credentials as a “Young” Lion, Saint responded by reminding everyone that the Royal Arms of England, a coat of arms symbolizing England and its Monarchs, prominently features three golden lions and that he would continue to fight like a lion for his Queen, country and the YLC!

Young Lions Cup Semi Finals"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush defeated Ophidian when Quackenbush pinned Ophidian following a Quackendriver III! UltraMantis Black defeated Johnny Saint when Mantis pinned Saint following a Praying Mantis Bomb!* ("Lightning" Mike Quackenbush will face UltraMantis Black in the 2002 Young Lions Cup Tournament Finals)
* - Following an extremely impressive victory over Saint, Mantis, drunk on hubris and success, arrogantly stated to the New Alhambra crowd that he would easily subdue "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush in the tournament finals, claim the Young Lions Cup for his own and in all probability never lose a single wrestling match EVER AGAIN! Muhahahahaha!
