Another solid card Show. Disappointing to see Quackenbush & Jigsaw go over but I cannot wait to see what Mr. Kingston has in store.

November 25, 2002: Episode 10 So here we are, CHIKARA faithful; the pessimists proclaimed we’d never make it this far but this is it, our tenth episode of the CHIKARA Event Center! I’m your esteemed and delectable host, CHIKARA Senior Official Bryce Remsburg. We are just eleven nights away from our magnificent season finale, the ultimate in tecnico-on-rudo tag team warfare, TORNEO CIBERNETICO! For anyone unfamiliar with this unique style of match, the format sees two teams of twelve, one tecnico, one rudo, face off. The Cibernetico uses standard Lucha Libre tag team rules with elimination occurring after a pinfall, submission, disqualification or count out and allows a wrestler to enter the match when their tag team partner exits the ring as well as when they tag out. A special 'batting' order system is used in which the wrestlers are given a specific sequence of entry into the match and may only tag in and out via this arrangement. Once one team has been eliminated, the survivors of the remaining team will square off until only one wrestler remains and becomes the Torneo Cibernetico winner! Here are the ‘batting’ orders for each Torneo Cibernetico team: Tecnico Team | Rudo Team | "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush | "Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney | El Generico | Icarus | Fire Ant | Crossbones | Soldier Ant | Ophidian | Hallowicked | Amasis | Delirious | Daizee Haze | Jigsaw | UltraMantis Black | Dasher Hatfield | Claudio Castagnoli | Sugar Dunkerton | Chuck Taylor | Sara Del Rey | Ice Cream, Jr. | Tim Donst | El Hijo del Ice Cream | Johnny Saint | Eddie Kingston |
For those of you who have been following CHIKARA since our debut some sixth months ago in May, you’ll be very familiar with the feuds and battles that have dominated our inaugural season. Going into Torneo Cibernetico there are several big questions… - What will the fall out be of “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw forcing “The King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli to disband as a tag team?
- Will the bizarre conflict between Incoherence and Sweet & Sour International reignite after seemingly being settled in Easton earlier this month?
- How will Amasis and Ophidian of The Osirian Portal fit into the rudo team having shown so many tecnico-esque tendencies during the last few CHIKARA shows?
- Can Johnny Saint and Tim Donst get back on the same page to aid the tecnico cause and will Donst be fully recovered from the sickening Praying Mantis Bomb delivered by UltraMantis Black on our last card?
All these questions and many more will be answered on December 6 at the notorious New Alhambra in south Philadelphia! Torneo Cibernetico promises to be CHIKARA’s biggest show to date and our signature event of 2002 so log on to chikarapro.com with all due haste and snap up your tickets for this unmissable pro wrestling extravaganza! Thank you for supporting CHIKARA during our first year. I can promise that 2003 will be even bigger and better but more about that in the near future! I’m Bryce Remsburg, thanks for tuning in. We’ll see you in Philly for Torneo Cibernetico in eleven nights time and back here again in a couple of weeks with another instalment of the CHIKARA Event Center! So long everybody!

Awesome preview for the Torneo Cibernetico, I'm psyched! I like Eddie Kingston as the anchor for the rudos team and I'm going with someone from that crew getting the win. I have never run a Torneo Cibernetico so I'm looking forward to see how it turns out for you.

Thanks for the kind words, cruefan68! With Torneo Cibernetico being such a long match with 23 eliminations, I'm going to break it down into three or four distinct parts. I'll be posting part one either today or tomorrow.

SHOW: Torneo CiberneticoDATE: December 6, 2002VENUE: New AlhambraLOCATION: Philadelphia, PA
Tecnico Team | Rudo Team | "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush | "Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney | El Generico | Icarus | Fire Ant | Crossbones | Soldier Ant | Ophidian | Hallowicked | Amasis | Delirious | Daizee Haze | Jigsaw | UltraMantis Black | Dasher Hatfield | Claudio Castagnoli | Sugar Dunkerton | Chuck Taylor | Sara Del Rey | Ice Cream, Jr. | Tim Donst | El Hijo del Ice Cream | Johnny Saint | Eddie Kingston |
* ORDER OF ELIMINATIONS * El Generio pinned Ophidian (BRAINBUSTAAAHHH!!!) Hallowicked pinned Amasis (Graveyard Smash) * Sara Del Rey pinned Ice Cream, Jr. (Royal Butterfly) Hallowicked pinned “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney (Go 2 Sleepy Hollow) ** Tim Donst pinned Crossbones (Belly to Belly Suplex) UltraMantis Black pinned Tim Donst (Praying Mantis Bomb) ***
* - After several weeks of tecnico-like behaviour from Amasis and Ophidian of The Osirian Portal, the other ten members of the rudo team ostracized their Egyptian partners during Torneo Cibernetico and offered them no assistance. Once eliminated, both the “Funky Pharaoh” and the “Venomous and Vile Serpent from the Nile” seemed more than happy to be leaving the rudo group behind… ** - Hallowicked relished the opportunity to square off one more time this season with the man who’d plagued him throughout 2002, the ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Champion, “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney! Neither man spared the other and the two combined for some hard hitting action. The New Alhambra crowd shared Wicked’s obvious joy when he nailed Sweeney with the Go 2 Sleepy Hollow and reduced Torneo Cibernetico to a 12-on-8 advantage for the tecnico side! *** - With Crossbones eliminated, Daizee Haze entered the ring. Donst was too busy celebrating his pinfall over Crossbones to notice UltraMantis Black climb to the apron, slap Daizee on the back and tag himself into the match! With Johnny Saint on the apron imploring Donst to pay attention and stop showboating, Mantis blindsided Donst and hooked him in position for his dreaded finisher, the Praying Mantis Bomb! Still recovering from the effects of the Praying Mantis Bomb that Mantis victimized Donst with two weeks ago in Pittston, the “Angry Insect Evildoer” unleashed his big move a second time and condemned Donst to defeat! With Donst knocked completely silly by the Bomb, Mantis attempted to roll him out of the ring and into the waiting arms of his disciple Crossbones. Quickly, Johnny Saint jumped through the ropes and tried to stop Mantis but, seeing a chance to gain an advantage, Claudio Castagnoli entered the ring and intercepted Saint! As the two European grapplers went at it, The Order of the Neo Solar Temple abducted Tim Donst from the arena! Some ten minutes later Mantis returned to the rudo batting order looking very pleased with himself but what had he and Crossbones done with “Young Timothy”? * TO BE CONTINUED *

it looks like the rudos team is in some real trouble
Ciberneticos are fun to play, I enjoyed the two I have had so far (won by Delirious and Joey Ryan) in my 2 seasons of Lachikaras Vegas and I am looking forward to seeing who wins this one.

* ORDER OF ELIMINATIONS * Claudio Castagnoli pinned Sugar Dunkerton (Ricola Bomb) Claudio Castagnoli pinned Sara Del Rey (Ricola Bomb) * Eddie Kingston pinned “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush (Wheelbarrow Slam / Corner Arm Drag) ** Fire Ant pinned Claudio Castagnoli (Beach Break) Delirious pinned Icarus (Headless Horseman) UltraMantis Black pinned Johnny Saint (Praying Mantis Bomb) *** Delirious pinned El Hijo del Ice Cream (Bizzaro Driver) Daizee Haze pinned Fire Ant (Daizee Cutter) Soldier Ant pinned Daizee Haze (Spinning Elbow Strike) ****
* - Moments before Castagnoli put Del Rey away with a vicious Ricola Bomb, Sara had trapped the “Snobby Swiss Aristocrat” in a LeBell Lock and forced Castagnoli to tap out! Unfortunately for the co-holder of Los Campeonatos de Parejas, the always devious Chuck Taylor was able to distract Senior Official Bryce Remsburg from the apron with his usual rudo antics! The referee missed the submission and a furious Del Rey released the hold to berate Bryce! The opportunistic Double C promptly attacked Del Rey from behind before crushing her with his feared finishing move! ** - Eddie Kingston had been itching throughout Torneo Cibernetico to get into the ring with either “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush or Jigsaw, the two men responsible for Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli having to disband as a tag team. Kingston gained a measure of revenge over Quackenbush by pulling off a devastating double team manoeuvre with El Hijo del Ice Cream which enabled the “King of Diamonds” to register a three count on Quack! This left the tecnico team with a slim 8-on-7 advantage after four consecutive eliminations in favor of the rudo side! *** - The usually calm, collected and in control Johnny Saint lost his cool when facing UltraMantis Black, the man accountable for the abduction of Saint’s young tag team partner, Tim Donst! Blinded by anger, Saint made one mistake too many and opened the door for Mantis to put the former British, European and World Lightweight Champion away with an explosive Praying Mantis Bomb! The score in Torneo Cibernetico now rested with a 7-on-5 edge to the tecnico team! **** - Following Fire Ant‘s elimination, Soldier Ant avenged his tag partner by pinning Daizee after smashing her in the jaw with a fierce Spinning Elbow Strike! From the apron, Hallowicked looked on as medical help entered the ring to attend to a bleary Daizee. Thinking back to a month ago in Easton when Incoherence lost to Sweet & Sour International in a special Tex-Arkana Rules Quatro Cyclone tag team match, Wicked recalled how Daizee came to check on him after Larry Sweeney had nearly knocked him out with a flying 12 Large Elbow Drop from the top rope! On that occasion, after the emotional roller coaster that Wicked and Daizee had been on throughout 2002, the “Dark Minion of the Underworld” snubbed Daizee and refused her assistance. Tonight, with old feelings for Daizee obviously stirring in his heart, Wicked entered the ring and attempted to help the fallen member of Sweet & Sour International. This time it was Daizee’s turn to refuse Wicked, hysterically kicking out at the man from Sleepy Hollow when he approached her! Returning from the locker room having previously been eliminated from Torneo Cibernetico, “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney slid into the ring, shoved a stunned Hallowicked to the mat and guided his tag team partner out of the ring and to the back. The rudo team were left at a huge 6-on-3 disadvantage in the match with only UltraMantis Black, Eddie Kingston and Chuck Taylor left for the rule breaking side! * TO BE CONTINUED *
