I'm still loving your use of the Giant Spoon and I can see El Hijo del Ice Cream screeming and swinging that sppon like Leatherface, great stuff HS. I am glad Icarus & Swiss Money Holding won their first round match...

Wow my pick of The Order was way off as they went out in the first round, and in the opening match no less! Ultramantis Black can't be too happy right now. I liked how Larry Sweeney called in the plays from the safety of the ring apron, classic. And what can be said about El Hijo del Ice Cream and the giant wooden spoon? Plus we had a Super Sprinkle Bomb and El Hijo waving the spoon around like Leatherface, amazing. I'm glad you used a picture of Leatherface from TCM circa 1973 and not the remake. I bow to you good sir for yet again making your fed a must read. Looking forward to the second round.

Great to get your feedback on the First Round of King of Trios, gentlemen; thank you! cruefan68: the original TCM is such a masterpiece and, for me, up there with any horror movie ever made. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the reference! #whowillsurviveandwhatwillbeleftofthem The Semi Finals of King of Trios will hopefully be posted tomorrow afternoon/evening.

I appreciate your comments, bookerbill! Here come the Semi Finals of King of Trios!SHOW: King of Trios - Semi FinalsDATE: March 14, 2003VENUE: New AlhambraLOCATION: Philadelphia, PA
1. Jigsaw & Los Campeones de Parejas El Generico & Sara Del Rey defeated Icarus & Swiss Money Holding when Sara pinned Icarus following a Sunset Flip! *2. Sweet & Sour International defeated Chuck Taylor & Los Ice Creams when Daizee Haze pinned Taylor following a Mind Trip! **(Sweet & Sour International will face Jigsaw & Los Campeones de Parejas, El Generico & Sara Del Rey in the King of Trios Finals!) * - The tecnico trio, dubbed “Team Sunset Flip” by the fans in attendance after the manner of their two victories during the tournament, had to put in a strong performance to overcome their rudo foes. Sara Del Rey was eager to get her hands on Castagnoli throughout the match but the wily Swiss grappler was having none of it and avoided Sara until he could come into the ring at an advantage. Near the end of the bout, Ares managed to unfairly gain the upper hand over Sara by nailing her with a briefcase while Icarus distracted the referee. “Double C” immediately tagged himself in and went to work on Sara, gloating as he tangled her up in a multitude of wear down and submission holds. The man from The United Bank of Switzerland severely underestimated Sara’s courage and technical expertise though as she skilfully countered Claudio’s attempt to set up her for a Ricola Bomb! Getting the “Most Money Making Man” off his feet and down to the mat, Sara quickly hooked on her feared LeBell Lock, the submission hold that had started the feud between Castagnoli and Sara back at Torneo Cibernetico in December! Stretching her Swiss rival for all Sara was worth, Claudio screamed in agony as he desperately fought for a rope break! With Icarus and Ares tied up with Generico and Jigsaw, the noise of the crowd grew to a fever pitch as it seemed that Castagnoli had no answer for Sara’s LeBell Lock! At the last moment though, Icarus was able to land a boot to the side of Sara’s head which enabled Castagnoli to escape to the floor! Trying to set Sara up for his Blu-Ray finisher by hoisting the tecnico up to his shoulders, Sara was able to wriggle free but, alert to the situation, the “Winged Ring Warrior” whipped the Tag Team Champion to the ropes looking to hit a big back body drop. With the last ounce of energy she had left in her body, Sara expertly leapt over Icarus and pinned the stunned F.I.S.T. member with a lightning fast Sunset Flip to advance her team into the King of Trios Finals! ** - Eddie Kingston and in particular, Daizee Haze dominated this match for Sweet & Sour International as the ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Champion Larry Sweeney “directed traffic” from the safety of the apron and only entered the match when it suited him to do so. After the match, Sweeney took to the mic and reminded the booing fans and in particular Jigsaw, El Generico and Sara Del Rey that Sweet & Sour International were no strangers to winning tournaments having won Tag World Grand Prix in 2002, right here at the New Alhambra, to become the first ever Campeones de Parejas! Sweeney was also quick to remind Generico and Del Rey that he and Daizee had knocked Generico and Del Rey out of Tag World Grand Prix last season and that they were always going to be nothing more than doormats for Sweet & Sour International to walk all over!

It was great to see Sara Del Ray finally get her hands on Claudio Castagnoli and she nearly put him away. Maybe she didn't get to pin his shoulders down or tap him out but at least she got the fall on Icarus to advance her team to the finals. I'm picking SDR, Jigsaw, & El Generico to take the KOT over Sweet n' Sour though I really like both teams.

Great to hear your thoughts and opinions cruefan68, Crimson Cross and Vegas! Thanks as always to everyone who’s followed King of Trios! Here come the Finals!SHOW: King of Trios - FinalsDATE: March 14, 2003VENUE: New AlhambraLOCATION: Philadelphia, PA
1. Sweet & Sour International defeated Jigsaw & Los Campeones de Parejas El Generico & Sara Del Rey by Count Out when Sara couldn‘t recover from a piledriver delivered to her by Daizee Haze on the floor! *(Sweet & Sour International win the first annual CHIKARA King of Trios tournament!) * - Quality match. Neither team were in any mood to compromise in this all important clash to decide the first ever CHIKARA King of Trios. As he had throughout the night, Larry Sweeney chose to limit his time in the ring and instead concentrate on “marshalling the troops”, a game plan which, thanks to Eddie Kingston and in particular, Daizee Haze paid a massive dividend. The climax of this 20+ minute trios collision came with all six combatants duelling on the floor and Daizee, out of the view of the referee, executing a nasty looking piledriver on Sara that knocked the “Death Rey” out cold. Fans and observers were left to wonder what kind of state Sara would be in for her big match with Ares in two weeks time, a match that if Sara loses would see her become Claudio Castagnoli’s valet and servant for a full month! With CHIKARA Senior Official Bryce Remsburg putting the count on both teams, Daizee was able to slide back into the ring on the count of nineteen as Sweeney and Kingston brawled with El Generico and Jigsaw. Bryce then called twenty, signalled for the bell and had no option but to award the match and tournament to Sweet & Sour International! Sweeney celebrated like a wild man, verbally laying into the defeated tecnicos and the disapproving South Philly crowd, reminding everyone that he guaranteed all the way back in January on the first CHIKARA show of 2003 that Sweet & Sour International would win King of Trios…and that this was just the beginning! Despite another impressive display from Eddie Kingston, Daizee Haze was deservedly named the King of Trios Finals MVP for her match winning (albeit rule breaking) efforts. King of Trios was a great event, Horrorshow, and congrats to Sweet & Sour International on their victory no matter the controversy. Daizee Haze has had some impressive performances and i liked that she got the MVP. That was a tough break for "Death Ray" taking the piledriver on the outside and I hope it doesn't affect her in the match with Ares. Imagine SDR having to serve as the valet for CC! Looking forward to the next show...
