Via the magic of random selection, four lucky teams have been assigned invaluable first round byes in the prestigious tournament:
F.I.S.T
Eddie Kingston & Claudio Castagnoli
Los Ice Creams
Johnny Saint & Tim Donst
Kingston and Castagnoli have already gone on record to arrogantly proclaim that, with a First Round Bye safely secured, they are absolute certainties to emerge from the tourney as the first ever Los Campeones de Parejas.
Icarus of F.I.S.T. will be looking to capitalize on his team’s bye after dropping the Young Lions Cup in his very first title defense at “The Gigantic Vision“. The “Winged Ring Warrior” has vowed to immediately bounce back from that disappointment and become the first man in company history to win both singles and tag team gold!

The Order of the Neo Solar Temple versus The Colony
With UltraMantis Black going all the way to the finals of the Young Lions Cup tournament back in July, the “Angry Insect Evildoer” will be looking to go one better at Tag World Grand Prix and claim Los Campeonatos de Parejas with his loyal partner Crossbones! The Colony though are undefeated in the CHIKARA tag team division and are certainly one of the pre-tournament favorites to become Los Campeones! F.I.S.T will meet the winners of this contest in the next round!
Incoherence versus The Throwbacks
Tecnico-on-tecnico action here as Dasher Hatfield and Sugar Dunkerton lock horns with Delirious and Hallowicked! After the shocking events in Reading just three nights ago, will Hallowicked be in any kind of mental state to focus on winning Los Campeonatos de Parejas? The Throwbacks are coming off a nice win over The Osirian Portal and look well set to make a strong run for the titles. The winners of this match will face Kingston and Castagnoli in the next round!
The Osirian Portal versus Sara Del Rey & Young Lions Cup Champion El Generico
The Portal have posted some mixed results over the summer and the “Funky Pharaoh” has found himself embroiled of late in a bizarre feud of sorts with CHIKARA ring announcer, Carolina Jim! The Egyptians will have to raise their game considerably if they’re to challenge the impressive team of Sara Del Rey and the new Young Lions Cup Champion, El Generico! Whichever team comes through with the win will meet those dastardly dairy deviants Los Ice Creams in the next round!
Sweet & Sour International versus “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw
Mentally and physically, both of these duos come into the Tag World Grand Prix with a lot of question marks against them. Quackenbush and Jigsaw have been repeatedly ambushed and abused in their bitter rivalry with “The King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston and the “Snobby Swiss Aristocrat” Claudio Castagnoli. Neither the “Master of a Thousand Holds” or the “Wrestling Riddle” is close to 100% healthy, particularly Quack who comes into the tournament with severely damaged ribs. Will the ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Champion “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney and Daizee Haze be on the same page after Sweeney’s ultimatum to Daizee regarding Hallowicked or will said decree cause excessive friction within Sweet & Sour International? Johnny Saint and Tim Donst await the victors of this clash in the next round!
