Bobo's card is surprisingly good and I was quite surprised he won the whole thing! Animal is a beast. Any "tag" move I subtract 1 from the rating rather than roll at a lower level. I have the Doomsday Device only worth zero in singles action as opposed to 4 when teamed with Hawk. He is still quite good after all of this.

MATCH #1 (20 minute time limit)
Playboy BUDDY ROSE vs GORGEOUS GEORGE
Gorgeous George is on the offence most of the match with fingernail rakes, rolling hiplocks, and headlock takedowns. Buddy Rose gets a good working over but eventually mounts an offence around 7 minutes in with a few forearm smashes and throws into the turnbuckle but it is too late. George catches Rose in a spinning toe hold and Buddy taps out.

GORGEOUS GEORGE defeats Playboy BUDDY ROSE by submission in 8:00.


MATCH #2 (20 minute time limit)
RED BASTIEN vs KING KONG BUNDY
Bundy charges towards Bastien at the sound of the bell and miraculously, Red lifts Bundy into a bodyslam! The crowd goes wild and Bastien follows up with flying headscissors and a hip toss. Bundy is stunned but eventually overpowers Bastien with a forearm smash and elbow drop off the ropes. Bastien is hurt and rolls out of the ring. Bundy follows and attempts to do damage outside the ring but before he does Bastien slams him into the announcer’s table and the ref calls for the bell. The crowd is not happy.

KING KONG BUNDY defeats RED BASTIEN by DQ in 5:24


MATCH #3 (20 minute time limit)
The Million Dollar Man TED DIBIASE vs THE SANDMAN
The two lock up and The Sandman tosses Dibiase into the turnbuckle. Sandman runs after him for a huge shoulerblock but Dibiase moves out of the way just in time and The Sandman hits the turnbuckle hard. Ted wraps him up for a quick pin but The Sandman kicks out. Dibiase rules the rest of the match and catches The Sandman in the Million Dollar Sleeper and cuts the match short.

The Million Dollar Man TED DIBIASE defeats THE SANDMAN by submission in 2:12.


MATCH #4 (30 minute time limit)
Road Warrior HAWK vs Superfly JIMMY SNUKA
The two go after each other before the bell and absolute mayhem breaks loose! Superfly whips Hawk into the ropes but Hawk counters and tosses Snuka into the ropes instead. Hawk bounces off on the opposite side of the ring and both wrestlers meet in the middle with a double closthesline! Hawk is first to get up and gorilla press slams Snuka. Hawk picks up Snuka but the Superfly tosses Hawk into the turnbuckle then throws a few dropkicks in Hawk’s direction. Hawk falls to the mat and Jimmy goes for the Superfly Leap early on and connects! Hawk manages to barely kick out of the pin and Snuka picks him up and tosses him out of the ring. Snuka follows Hawk and the two start pounding at each other furiously. The ref warns them about a DQ but both are oblivious to the ref’s warnings. Just as Snuka is getting the upper hand, Hawk grabs a chair and jabs it into Snuka’s midsection. The ref calls for the bell.

Superfly JIMMY SNUKA defeats Road Warrior HAWK by DQ in 4:36

Hawk and Snuka continue to battle their way back to the dressing room and the crowd cheers wildly.

***** INTERMISSION *****

MATCH #5 (60 minute time limit)
IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF vs JIMMY VALIANT & JOHNNY VALIANT
The Iron Sheik and Jimmy Valiant start things off in the middle of the ring. The Sheik hip tosses Jimmy, kicks him in the stomach, and power slams him hard onto the mat. Jimmy rolls out of the ring to catch his breath and Johnny drops down to discuss strategy. Jimmy rolls back into the ring and gets the upper hand with a poke in the eye, clothesline off of the ropes, and a hammerlock. Jimmy makes the tag and Johnny enters with a knee to the midsection and reverse chinlock. The Sheik eventually makes the tag and Volkoff overpowers Jimmy with a powerslam and leg drop. Jimmy manages to roll over to make a tag and now Johnny and Volkoff go at it. Offences exchange back and forth between these two evenly matched teams and the closing moments we see Volkoff and Jimmy spill out of the ring. Johnny comes to Jimmy’s aid with the use of a chair and the ref calls for the bell.

IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF defeat JIMMY VALIANT & JOHNNY VALIANT by DQ in 13:24.

The Iron Sheik comes to Nikolai’s aid and the two teams go at it hard on the concrete floor. The Sheik rams Johnny Valiant into the ringpost and busts him wide open. Jimmy picks up the chair that Johnny used moments ago and smashes it over Volkoff’s head, busting him open! Eventually wrestlers come pouring out of the dressing room in an attempt to stop the mayhem and after 3 minutes, the two teams make their way back to the dressing rooms.


MATCH #6 (60 minute time limit)
NICK BOCKWINKEL vs Nature Boy BUDDY ROGERS
Bockwinkel finds himself on the defensive side most of the match with Rogers delivering hiptosses, forearm smashes, and elbow drops. After Rogers struts and slaps Bockwinkel a few times, however, Nick has had enough and starts pounding on Rogers. Forearm smashes, kick to the ribs, and a dropkick all daze Rogers. Finally, Bockwinkel throws Rogers into the turnbuckle and Nick charges after him. At the last second, Rogers moves out of the way and Bockwinkel hits the turnbuckle hard and falls to the mat. Rogers quickly rolls up Bockwinkel and gets the snake-eyes pin! (Interestingly Bockwinkel met the same fate when he wrestled Ox Baker in Card #1!)

BUDDY ROGERS defeats NICK BOCKWINKEL by pin in 8:36.

As Buddy has his arm raised in victory, Harley Race slides into the ring and delivers a knee to Buddy’s back. Bockwinkel, still slightly dazed, gets up to see Race pulling up Rogers by the hair setting him up for the piledriver. Nick quickly grabs Buddy’s legs to help make Race’s pile driver more effective. Rogers’s head is driven into the mat hard and his body lies limp on the convass. Race and Bockwinkel shake hands and leave the ring together. It is later determined that Buddy Rogers is injured for two cards!

The announcer, over the crowd noise, thanks everyone for coming out and blares that Frank Gotch, Killer Kowalski, and King Kong Bundy will be competing at next week’s card and that the main event will feature Bobo Brazil defending his new OTF Heavyweight Championship title against Road Warrior Animal!

I really like the concept you have for your fed using the original twenty-four. Looking forward to Bobo Brazil defending the title against Road Warrior Animal. Just a note about Animal. If I use him in singles and roll Doomsday Device I re-roll on the same level of offense since that is a tag finisher. If I roll a regular tag team move like the spike piledriver then I re-roll on the previous level of offense. I feel that if a finisher is rolled you shouldn't have to re-roll on level two and instead should just re-roll on level three.

At any rate changing the Doomsday Device to a 0 for singles is a good idea. It is a tag move but in singles you could just say it is Animal coming off the top with a clothesline. Good luck with your fed it is off to a nice start.

Yes, I think that I will use those rules for Animal that you mentioned. I often wonder why roll on a previous level if a tag move is rolled and not the same level?

Next card should be interesting. Bobo is still injured and Hawk will be at ringside! Things unfortunately are stacked against Bobo.

Seeing how he does in everyone else's feds, though...

might be time to rethink some roster spots.

Great stuff.

I don't know if I could ever only use the original set, though.

Too many other guys I love in later sets.

This turns out to be a quick match with Buddy Rose initially throwing Volkoff into the turnbuckle. Rose then charges at Nikolai but Volkoff comes off of the corner and delivers a wicked clothesline which flattens out Rose. Volkoff gets the quick pin (snake-eyes!)

NIKOLAI VOLKOFF defeats Playboy BUDDY ROSE by pin in 1:00.

Volkoff raises his arm in victory but feels the sharp pain of a knee being driven into his back! It’s Gorgeous George and Volkoff hits the mat hard. George continuous to stomp on Volkoff’s back until the Iron Sheik slides into the ring to help out his fallen partner. Buddy Rose finally gets up off of the mat and it seems that Gorgeous George and Buddy Rose have formed an alliance as they proceed to exchange blows with Volkoff and Sheik. A voice then comes over the intercom and it is announced that these four will meet in a tag team match right now to settle their differences!


BONUS MATCH! (30 minute time limit)
Playboy BUDDY ROSE & GORGEOUS GEORGE vs IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF
Rose and Volkoff start of the match and Nikolai immediately gets the upperhand by overpowering Rose. Volkoff delivers a few power moves then tags off to the Iron Sheik and he punishes Rose with a camel clutch. Rose is barely able to break free and then tags off to Gorgeous George. The Sheik and George exchange blows until both wrestlers then tag out to their respective partners. The action is back and forth until Buddy Rose is able to hurt Volkoff with a tackle. Rose is then able to come off the top rope with a splash and finally a bombs away leap. The Iron Sheik is unable to come to the aid of Volkoff in time.

Playboy BUDDY ROSE & GORGEOUS GEORGE defeat IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF by pin in 8:48.


MATCH #2 (20 minute time limit)
THE SANDMAN vs JOHNNY VALIANT
Johnny Valiant is in control most of the match with The Sandman getting very little offence together. When the Sandman eventually is able to throw Valiant into the turnbuckle, Johnny flattens Sandman with a clothesline. Later in the match Sandman catches Valiant in a hardcore DDT and almost gets the pin. Valiant also catches the Singapore cane as well without the ref seeing it and again, Sandman almost gets the pin. In the closing moments the action spills outside the ring and The Sandman slams Valiant’s head into the announcer’s table. The ref immediately calls for the bell.

JOHNNY VALIANT defeats THE SANDMAN by DQ in 11:36.


MATCH #3 (20 minute time limit)
GORGEOUS GEORGE vs JIMMY VALIANT
Gorgeous George has won one match tonight and he feels like he is on fire as he unloads on Valiant with move after move. Cherie Dupre even gets in on the action as she distracts Jimmy which almost gets him pinned. Jimmy eventually uses a foreign object on George to get the upper hand and Valiant delivers punishing moves to the Gorgeous one. The match goes back and forth with neither competitor being able to gain the upper hand for long. Ten minutes into the match, however, Gorgeous George slaps on his spinning toe hold twice and is able to get the pin on the worn out Valiant.

GORGEOUS GEORGE defeats JIMMY VALIANT by pin in 10:24.


MATCH #4 (30 minute time limit)
RED BASTIEN vs KING KONG BUNDY
Bundy gets off to a quick start by tackling Bastien and then delivering a running powerslam! Bundy goes for the pin and Bastien barely kicks out. Bastien realizes quickly that he won’t be able to overpower the huge mammoth so Red resorts to highflying moves then locking on a Boston Crab. This wears Bundy down and amazingly after an atomic drop, Bastien is able to get the pin and the crowd is overjoyed with the result!

RED BASTEIN defeats KING KONG BUNDY by pin in 4:12.

MATCH #5 (60 minute time limit)
FRANK GOTCH vs KILLER KOWALSKI
This match delivers in action what everyone anticipated it to be. Back and forth action throughout with the scientific background of Gotch matched up against the brawling tactics of Kowalski. Killer gets the upper hand initially and delivers blow after blow and claw hold after claw hold but Gotch simply does not give up! The crowd wonders how much punishment Gotch can withstand as Kowalski throws everything he has at him. Eventually, Frank catches Kowalski in a crossface arm bar and then applies a few rolling kneebars and it almost appears that Kowalski’s lower leg has been pulled out of his knee joint! Frank then goes for the Gotch toehold and Kowalski has no choice but to submit.

FRANK GOTCH defeats KILLER KOWALSKI by submission in 21:36.


MATCH #6 – WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP (60 minute time limit)
Road Warrior ANIMAL vs BOBO BRAZIL
Hawk joins Animal at ringside in what seems to be a clear advantage for Animal. In addition to Hawk being at ringside, it is evident that Bobo is still hurt from the injury he sustained from Animal at the end of the Heavyweight Championship tournament (*see Card #2*). The OTF rules, however, state that all champions must defend their title every second card even when injured! At the sound of the bell, Animal immediately attacks Bobo with a choke and an overhead body slam. The grimace on Bobo’s face clearly indicates that he is in terrible pain. Before Brazil gets a chance to roll out of the ring, Animal picks him up and delivers his patented power slam which completely knocks Bobo out. Animal gets the pin.

Road Warrior ANIMAL defeats BOBO BRAZIL by pin in 2:12.

Hawk quickly slides into the ring and lifts Animal’s arm up high signaling his victory. The ref exits the ring and comes back with the World’s Heavyweight Championship belt. The crowd is “booing” furiously and simply cannot believe that Animal is the new champion! Bobo is on the mat motionless and the ref calls for a stretcher to be brought to the ring. The announcer, over the crowd noise, announces the new champion and thanks everyone for coming out. The voice then leaks that the next card will host 8 tag teams battling it out in a tournament to determine the OTF Tag Team Champions!

OTF Newsletter #1 

Highlights from Cards 1 – 4 

OTF Wrestling, the home to 24 of some of the greatest stars this sport has ever seen, is off to a wild start. As soon as OTF became a territory, a 16 man tournament to crown the first OTF Heavyweight Champion was held during the first two cards showcasing what OTF has to offer.

The end of Card #1 saw Johnny Valentine, Harley Race, Giant Baba, The Destroyer, Animal, Bobo Brazil, Greg Valentine, and Ox Baker all advancing to the next round. The first card also saw Nick Bockwinkel’s arm getting injured due to the ruthless tactics of Ox Baker. When asked to comment about the event, Nick Bockwinkel stated that he and Ox Baker will meet again and that brains will overtake brawn during their next encounter.

Card #2 turned out to be a wild affair with Johnny Valentine, Animal, Harley Race, and Bobo Brazil all advancing to the third round that very evening! Some highlights from the initial round included Ox Baker trying to get the advantage over Johnny Valentine by busting him open due to being rammed into the ringpost. The spilled blood, however, did not stop Valentine from capitalizing on a missed deathdrop by Baker.

Greg Valentine and Harley Race had a brutal bloodbath with both combatants being busted open midway through the match. Race’s piledriver, however, was enough to put Valentine away in the closing moments of the match. A wild affair after the match included Greg and Johnny Valentine almost injuring Race but Nick Bockwinkel making the save preventing further injury to Race. After the match Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel stated that they have a tag team history together and that they will watch each other’s back when certain situations develop.

Bobo Brazil also found his blood getting spilled at the hands of Giant Baba. After a 25 minute battle though, Brazil found himself being the winner.

Out of the four competitors moving on, Animal found himself being the only wrestler not being busted open in the initial round of the evening. Having a clear health advantage enabled Animal to move though Johnny Valentine and into the final round! In the other semi-final match, Brazil took advantage of Harley Race’s earlier injured forehead by busting him open early and then scoring the win.

The final round was action packed from start to finish but Bobo eventually caught Animal in a piledriver and became the first OTF Heavyweight Champion! Being the Champ though has its consequences and Brazil found out firsthand how difficult it can be when Animal brutally attacked him post-match injuring him for two cards.

Card #3 showcased other talent not previously seen in the initial two events. Playboy Buddy Rose, Gorgeous George, Red Bastien, King Kong Bundy, The Sandman, Nikolai Volkoff, and the Valiants all made their first appearance. The first tag team bout was also witnessed with the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff taking on the Valiants. Sheik and Volkoff found themselves on the winning side but the two teams continued to battle outside of the ring for another 5 minutes before making their way back to the dressing rooms.

The main event of the evening had Nick Bockwinkel and Nature Boy Buddy Rogers squaring off. It was evident, however, that Bockwinkel’s arm was still injured from Card #1 and Rogers took advantage of this early and came out on top. Before Rogers could further damage Bockwinkel’s arm post match, Harley Race slid into the ring and injured Rogers with a pile driver. Whether Buddy Rogers had initially planned to further injure Bockwinkel’s arm is still up for debate but Harley Race’s version of the event is to the contrary.

Card #4 marked the first title defence for Bobo Brazil and potentially a revenge match as well against Animal. Bobo’s injury from the earlier OTF tournament, however, turned out to be Bobo’s downfall and Animal became the new OTF Heavyweight Champion! Other highlights of the night saw Gorgeous George being successful in tag and singles competition, Red Bastien scoring a clean win over King Kong Bundy in a return match, and Frank Gotch and Killer Kowalski giving the crowd what they wanted in a 21 minute match.

The next four cards are built up to be just as wild as the first four. Card #5 will host a tag team tournamnet to crown the first OTF Tag Team Champions! The 8 teams in the tournament include the Road Warriors, Greg and Johnny Valentine, The Valiants, Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff, Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race, Playboy Buddy Rose and Gorgeous George, Million Dollar Man and King Kong Bundy, and The Destroyer and Red Bastien. Card #6 will showcase Road Warrior Animal’s first title defence against the #1 contender, Card #7 will have the OTF Tag Team Champions’ first title defence as the main event, and finally Card #8 will once again have the OTF Heavyweight Champion defending his title.

Great action so far. There mix of wrestlers in the introduction set is really special and makes for a solid foundation. Lots of great potential match ups. I like how you have a surprise champion. It shakes things up. However it will hard to keep the belt from the Nature Boy for long. Perhaps the best heel ever and the card mechanics to back it up.

Regarding the tag finish issue I don't think you should change the card mechanics. I treat it the same as a DQ move and simply roll again on the same offensive level.

Yes, I think I will use the re-roll at the same level rule as opposed to the previous level. I'm glad people like my fed so far. I like to keep things short and simple so it is a quick read for everyone.
