MATCH #1 (30 minute time limit)
The Road Warriors ANIMAL & HAWK vs Playboy BUDDY ROSE & GORGEOUS GEORGE
Buddy Rose and Animal are in first and the Warrior simply man-handles the playboy with shoulder throws and overhead bodyslams. Hawk comes in and he punishes Rose as well. Buddy eventually gets to tag out and Gorgeous George gets the upper hand after using his hair pins on Hawk’s eyes. After a few minutes of being on the defensive, Hawk tags in Animal and George tags in Buddy. Animal is able to outmuscle Rose and applies a deadly tombstone pile driver. Gorgeous George is unable to make the save in time.

ANIMAL defeats Playboy BUDDY ROSE by pin in 10:24. The Road Warriors advance to the next round!


MATCH #2 (30 minute time limit)
JIMMY VALIANT & JOHNNY VALIANT vs RED BASTIEN & THE DESTROYER
Johnny Valiant and The Destroyer square off first. Destroyer gets in a few repeated forearms and knee drops and Johnny is in trouble early. Jimmy gets tagged in and he manages to get the upper hand over The Destroyer with a poke in the eye and follows up with a body slam. After a few more holds, the Valiants perform the double clothesline and Destroyer is hurt bad. The Valiants make quick tags in and out and they almost pin The Destroyer on four occasions. Bastien comes in twice to make the save but The Destroyer is able to kick out. Eventually The Destroyer is able to tag in Red Bastien and the crowd goes wild as Red unloads on Johnny Valiant. After three atomic drops, Basitien is able to pin Johnny and Jimmy is unable to make the save in time.

RED BASTIEN defeats JOHNNY VALIANT by pin in 8:24. Red Bastien and The Destroyer advance to the next round!


MATCH #3 (30 minute time limit)
NICK BOCKWINKEL & HARLEY RACE vs Million Dollar Man TED DIBIASE & KING KONG BUNDY
Nick Bockwinkel and Ted Dibiase start the match and Nick gets the upper hand first with a hiptoss, snap mare, and gut wrench. Harley Race gets tagged in shortly and he delivers a forearm slug and a few other moves as well. Dibiase eventually gives Race an eye rake, headlock, knee to the gut, and then tags in Bundy. King Kong overpowers Race with a forearm smash, elbow drop, and power slam. Race is hurt but musters up enough energy to tag in Bockwinkel. To everyone’s surprise, Nick is able to take the big guy down into a Boston Crab as well as a gut wrench shortly after. Bundy tags in Dibiase and Nick is able to deliver a few moves then locks in the figure four leglock! Bundy makes the save but that doesn’t stop Bockwinkel from trying the lock again and again on Dibiase. After being unable to get Dibiase to submit, Nick locks in the Bockwinkel Sleeper and Race delivers a forearm smash to Bundy, preventing him from breaking the hold. The ref shortly calls for the bell as Dibiase passes out.

NICK BOCKWINKEL defeats The Million Dollar Man TED DIBIASE by submission in 12:12. Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race advance to the next round!


MATCH #4 (30 minute time limit)
JOHNNY VALENTINE & GREG VALENTINE vs IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF
Johnny Valentine and Iron Sheik face off first. The Sheik catches Valentine off guard by spitting in his eye a few times then hip tossing him. The Sheik follows up with a Boston Crab but Valentine breaks free and Sheik makes the tag. Volkoff Gives Valetine a running stomp before he can get up then tosses him out of the ring. Nikolai follows him and Greg, being frustrated that Johnny has not been able to tag out yet, enters the ring and the ref is distracted as he reprimands Greg for entering without being tagged. Meanwhile, outside the ring, Volkoff bodyslams Johnny Valentine onto the announcer’s table. The Sheik and Volkoff laugh as the ref misses the action due to getting Greg back in his corner. As the Sheik and Volkoff continue to find the scenario hilarious, Johnny Valentine is on his feet holding a chair which comes smashing down on Volkoff’s back just as the ref turns to see what is occurring outside the ring. The ref immediately calls for the bell.

NIKOLAI VOLKOFF defeats JOHNNY VALENTINE by DQ in 4:36. The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff advance to the next round!


MATCH #5 (30 minute time limit)
Nature Boy BUDDY ROGERS vs BOBO BRAZIL
Both wrestlers realize the importance of this match – the winner will be the #1 contender for the OTF Heavyweight Championship on the next card! The opening bell sounds and the cocky Buddy Rogers struts over and slaps Bobo Brazil across the face! Brazil becomes a house on fire and immediately delivers forearm smashes, a kneelift, and a flying dropkick which stuns Rogers. Brazil continues with a big hammer punch as well as tombstone pile driver, which almost gets him the pin. Buddy Rogers eventually mounts an offence with forearm smashes, dropkicks, and a jumping knee smash. Rogers gets his figure four grapevine on Brazil as well but Bobo does not submit. The back and forth action continues until the action spills outside of the ring. Both wrestlers continue to hammer each other and just when Bobo seems to be getting the upper hand, Rogers slams Brazil over the back with a steel chair. The ref immediately calls for the bell.

BOBO BRAZIL defeats Nature Boy BUDDY ROGERS by DQ in 9:48.

MATCH #6 (30 minute time limit)
The Road Warriors ANIMAL & HAWK vs RED BASTIEN & THE DESTROYER
This turns out to be a really good match as Red Bastien and The Destroyer are able to provide a fair amount of offense against the powerhouses of Animal and Hawk. When the Warriors start to use power moves, Bastien and Destroyer are able to tag out to each preventing a pinning situation from occurring. After the ten minute mark, however, The Destroyer and Bastien are exhausted due to keeping up with the Warriors. After the action spills out of the ring, a tired and frustrated Destroyer slams Hawk’s head into the announcer’s table and the ref calls for the bell.

Road Warrior HAWK defeats THE DESTROYER by DQ in 14:36. The Road Warriors advance to the championship match!


MATCH #7 (30 minute time limit)
NICK BOCKWINKEL & HARLEY RACE vs IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF
The Iron Sheik and Nick Bockwinkel face off first and in no time, Bockwinkel is able to prevent the Sheik from mounting any offence. Quick tags between Race and Bockwinkel results in the Iron Sheik almost getting pinned in four separate occasions with Volkoff making the save twice. Eventually, the Sheik tags to Volkoff and Nikolai is able to match up well against Harley Race. After some offensive moves by Nikolai, however, Race takes over and delivers suplex after suplex, headbutt after headbutt, but is unable to keep the big Russian down. After tossing Volkoff out of the ring, a frustrated Race finally tries to take Nikolai out by suplexing him onto the concrete floor which is too much for the ref to let go.

NIKOLAI VOLKOFF defeats HARLEY RACE by DQ in 29:00. The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff advance to the championship match!


MATCH #8 – WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (60 minute time limit)
The Road Warriors ANIMAL & HAWK vs IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF
Hawk and the Iron Sheik start the match and they both are initially quite even in offensive moves. At one point, however, The Sheik almost gets pinned after Hawk’s running clothesline. Volkoff makes the save just in time though. The Sheik tags in Volkoff and Hawk tags in Animal and they lock up. They both match up well until Volkoff almost gets pinned after Animal delivers a flying shoulder tackle. Iron Sheik makes the save in time and Volkoff tags him in. Animal tags in Hawk and the Iron Sheik spits in his face in an attempt to throw Hawk off of his game. Hawk just gets angry and manhandles the Sheik until he delivers a devastating running clothesline which almost rips the Iron Sheik’s head off. Unfortunately, Nikolai is unable to make the save and the Sheik gets pinned.

Road Warrior ANIMAL defeats IRON SHEIK by pin in 14:12. Road Warriors Animal and Hawk are the OTF World’s Heavyweight Tag Team Champions!

The ref awards the championship titles to the Road Warriors and there is a mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd. Over the loudspeaker the announcer, over the crowd noise, announces the new champions and thanks everyone for coming out. The voice then informs the crowd that the next card will have Road Warrior Animal defending the OTF Heavyweight Championship against the #1 Contender, Bobo Brazil and the crowd cheers loudly. Animal’s smile turns into a frown as he realizes how busy his life has now become!

plenty of DQs but still a fun card overall. Warriors are really the cream of the crop in the introduction set but they did recently have some close contests with Sheik & Volkoff in my fed.

Yes there were more DQs then I would have liked but that is how the dice went! I was quite shocked that Sheik and Volkoff made it to the end. I didn't expect them to make it to the end of the first round! The Warriors are extremely strong and are going to be difficult to bring down!

There were a lot of DQ's (those darn dice!) but at least you had a clean finish in the finals. Animal is rolling now having two title belts. It will be interesting to see how Bobo Brazil does against him in the rematch. Love the old school lineup format you use for OTF.

MATCH #1 (20 minute time limit)
Playboy BUDDY ROSE vs NIKOLAI VOLKOFF
This is a return match (* see Card #4 *) and this time, Buddy Rose puts forth a better effort. The action is back and forth with each wrestler applying headlocks, eye rakes, and elbow drops. The more agile Rose takes advantage of Nikolai’s slow moving around the ring by delivering leg drops and elbow drops. Nikolai uses power moves like hammers to the back and lariats to wear Rose down. The closing moments see Rose getting caught in Volkoff’s bear hug and a deadly running lariat. Nikolai then gets the pin.

NIKOLAI VOLKOFF defeats Playboy BUDDY ROSE by pin in 17:48.


MATCH #2 (20 minute time limit)
OX BAKER vs THE SANDMAN
Both of these brawlers are quite even for most of the match. There are a lot of throws into the turnbuckle and Baker runs towiards The Sandman at one toss but Sandman moves out of the way the last second and Baker hits the turnbuckle hard and falls back to the mat. Sandman almost scores a pin right then and there but the action continues. At another point in the match, Baker charges towards The Sandman in the corner again and Ox ends up flying right out of the ring! Near the end, The Sandman realizes that he will be unable to beat Baker cleanly so Sandman resorts to using the Singapore Cane and tries to conceal it from the ref. The ref, unfortunately for The Sandman, doesn’t miss the action.

OX BAKER defeats THE SANDMAN by DQ in 8:24.


MATCH #3 (30 minute time limit)
Road Warrior HAWK vs Million Dollar Man TED DIBIASE
Surprisingly, Ted Dibiase gets the upper hand first with an eye rake, knee lift and a falling fist drop. Ted then goes for the kill early in the match with the Million Dollar Sleeper twice! The moves wear down Hawk slightly but then the Road Warrior turns things around with a gorilla press slam and then dropkick after dropkick after dropkick. Hawk goes for the pin but Dibiase kicks out. The two continue to go at each other until the action spills out of the ring. With no one gaining the upper hand, both frustrated wrestlers pick up a chair and they smack each other at the same time with Hawk jabbing Dibiase in the gut and Ted smacking Hawk over the head! The ref immediately calls for the bell.

The contest is a DOUBLE DQ in 7:48.


MATCH #4 (30 minute time limit)
NICK BOCKWINKEL vs IRON SHEIK
Iron Sheik spits in Bockwinkel’s eye which is enough of a distraction for the Sheik to hip toss Nick and follow up with a belly to belly suplex and Boston crab. Sheik goes for the pin but Bockwinkel kicks out. Sheik continues with power moves and wears Bockwinkel down little by little. Nick eventually gains some offence with a snap mare, kick to the ribs, and a gut wrench suplex. On one occasion, Bockwinkel even surprises the Iron Sheik with a piledriver but is unable to get the pin. To put things back his way, midway through the match The Iron Sheik kicks Bockwinkel in the gut with a loaded boot. Bockwinkel is hurt and rolls out of the ring. Nick almost gets counted out but is able to roll back in. Eventually, Nick gets his wind back and the two battle back and forth. In the closing moments, a tired Bockwinkel gets caught in a desperate body block administered by the Sheik. The ref counts to three.

IRON SHEIK defeats NICK BOCKWINKEL by pin in 14:48.

MATCH #5 (30 minute time limit)
GIANT BABA vs FRANK GOTCH
Gotch gets the upper hand first with an ankle pick but then tries a body slam and Baba delivers a knee lift. Giant Baba then administers a few Baba Chops and follows up with a piledriver. Frank rolls out of the ring and Baba follows him out. Gotch manages to grab Baba as he rolls out of the ring and tosses him into the announcer’s table. There is no DQ so Gotch tosses Baba back in the ring and goes for the pin but Baba kicks out. The action continues and in the closing moments Baba is able to deliver two neckbreaker drops and Gotch is knocked out cold. Baba gets the easy pin.

GIANT BABA defeats FRANK GOTCH by pin in 10:00.


MATCH #6 (30 minute time limit)
JIMMY VALIANT & JOHNNY VALIANT vs JOHNNY VALENTINE & GREG VALENTINE
Greg Valentine and Johnny Valiant square off first. The two wrestlers exchange blows back and forth with neither combatant gaining an edge until Valentine body slams Valiant. Greg then follows up with a few falling hammers which wears down Valiant substantially. Greg tags out to Johnny and the punishment continues. Johnny Valiant desperately tries to tag out to Jimmy but the Valentines prevent that from happening! In the closing moments, after Jimmy Valiant has made multiple pin saves, Johnny Valentine delivers two atomic skullscrushers. Jimmy Valiant is unable to make the pin save in time for Johnny Valiant and does not even get the chance to take part in the match!

JOHNNY VALENTINE defeats JOHNNY VALIANT by pin in 12:12.


MATCH #7 – WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP (60 minute time limit)
BOBO BRAZIL (Challenger) vs Road Warrior ANIMAL (Champion)
It is a wild match right from the sound of the bell! Bobo Brazil delivers a knee lift and a body slam. Animal slides out of the ring and Brazil, being a man on a mission, chases after him. The two battle it out and both make it back into the ring before being disqualified or being counted out. Animal is able to deliver some power moves to gain the advantage and is even able to execute his power slam finisher but is unable to pin Brazil. Brazil gets tossed out of the ring multiple times and each time the crowd screams and shouts since they do not want a count out or a DQ! Bobo is able to keep Animal in place though as the battle continues on both inside and outside the ring. In the closing moments of the match, both men are extremely beaten and tired. Brazil tries a Coco Butt and a pin but Animal kicks out. Again, Brazil tries a Coco Butt and a pin but Animal kicks out. For one last time, Brazil tries a Coco Butt and a pin and Animal remains motionless.

BOBO BRAZIL defeats Road Warrior ANIMAL by pin in 11:48.

The crowd cheers wildly and Brazil jumps up and down since he knows that he has pulled off what he set out to do – to regain the OTF Heavyweight Championship! The ref exits the ring and comes back with the World’s Heavyweight Championship belt and hands it over to Bobo Brazil. The crowd noise is defeaning as the announcer introduces the new champion. Animal eventually gets up, shakes his head in disbelief, and heads back to the dressing room. The announcer thanks everyone for coming out and states that the next card will include Jimmy Snuka vs Giant Baba, Frank Gotch vs Johnny Valentine, and the main event will feature the Road Warriors Animal and Hawk putting up the OTF Heavyweight Tag Team Championship on the the line against the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff!

Congrats to Bobo Brazil on regaining the OTF championship from Road Warrior Animal. It will be interesting to see if Animal can regroup and team with Hawk to retain the tag titles against Volkoff & Sheik.

JOHNNY VALIANT vs THE SANDMAN
The Sandman never really seems to mount any large offense during the match. He does manage to pull Valiant out of the ring at one point, tosses him into the post, and manages to avoid being disqualified. Once back in the ring, however, its all Johnny Valiant delivering move after move until Valiant’s spinning neckbreaker puts The Sandman away.

JOHNNY VALIANT defeats THE SANDMAN by pin in 6:36.


MATCH #2 (20 minute time limit)
GREG VALENTINE vs THE DESTROYER
These two have a wild match with most of it occurring outside of the ring! Both Wrestlers manage to avoid being disqualified or counted while outside the ring even though the brawling tactics of each wrestler could have easily caused the ref to be less patient. In the closing moments, after Valentine makes multiple pin attempts on the Destroyer, Greg slaps on the figure four leglock. After much pain and agony, The Destroyer eventually submits.

GREG VALENTINE defeats THE DESTROYER by SUBMISSION in 9:12.


MATCH #3 (30 minute time limit)
NICK BOCKWINKEL vs Million Dollar Man TED DIBIASE
It’s sleeper vs sleeper as the two men go at it with offenses exchanging hands multiple times. Bockwinkel administers snap mares, gut wrenches, and a back suplex. Dibiase answers with knee lifts, knees to the gut, and a backwards elbow drop. Near the end, Dibiase executes a deathjump to a standing Bockwinkel and Nick is able to catch Dibiase and power slam him to the mat to almost get the pin. In the closing moments, Bockwinkel is able to give Dibiase a tombstone piledriver and then slaps on the Bockwinkel Sleeper. Dibiase is out cold in about 20 seconds.

NICK BOCKWINKEL defeats Million Dollar Man TED DIBIASE by SUBMISSION in 7:36.


MATCH #4 (30 minute time limit)
HARLEY RACE vs KILLER KOWALKSI
This battle doesn’t last too long with Kowalski getting the upper hand with a body slam, armbar, and then tosses Race out of the ring. Kowalski then comes out after Race and smashes him over the head with a steel chair and the ref calls for the bell immediately!

HARLEY RACE defeats KILLER KOWALSKI by DQ (snake eyes again!) in 1:48.

Kowalski doesn’t stop, however, and continues to give Race a beating. The bell rings continuously and wrestlers begin to run down the aisle to contain Kowalski. The damage to Race though is already done!

MATCH #5 (30 minute time limit)
Superfly JIMMY SNUKA vs GIANT BABA
The two men face off with Giant Baba throwing a few chops at Snuka but missing with a leg drop. Snuka becomes a man on fire and applies move after move on Baba and ends up successfully delivering the Superfly Leap as well. Unfortunately, Snuka is not successful with a pin and continues to deliver four deathdrop jumps in a row! The powerful Baba kicks out after every pin attempt and Snuka realizes that the only way to beat Baba will be to take the action outside of the ring. After brawling outside, the ref calls for the bell when Snuka tries to take Baba down after smashing him into the announcer’s table.

GIANT BABA defeats JIMMY SNUKA by DQ in 9:12.


MATCH #6 (30 minute time limit)
JOHNNY VALENTINE vs FRANK GOTCH
Back and forth action starts off the match with neither man getting the upper hand until Johnny Valentine delivers not one, two, but three atomic skullcrushers to Gotch! After each move, Valentine goes for the pin but is unsuccessful. Frustrated, Valentine tosses Gotch outside of the ring and almost smacks him with a chair but listens to the ref’s warnings and decides not to take illegal action. The action continues in the ring and after a few moves this time Gotch tosses Valentine out of the ring and comes after him with a steel chair. Frank ignores the ref’s warnings and smacks Valentine over the back with the chair. The ref calls for the bell immediately.

JOHNNY VALENTINE defeats FRANK GOTCH by DQ in 6:48.


MATCH #7 – WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (60 minute time limit)
The Road Warrios ANIMAL & HAWK (Champions) vs IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF (Challengers)
Animal and Iron Sheik square off first and sheik gets the upper hand with a belly to belly suplex and kick to the stomach. The Sheik continues with a few tosses into the turnbuckle and a Boston Crab. After a few pin attempts by the Sheik, Animal eventually retaliates with a spike piledriver and then tags of to Hawk. The Sheik is able to counter everything Hawk throws at him but then decides to tag off to Volkoff. Hawk immediately hoists Nikolai up in a gorilla press slam and Volkoff hits the mat hard.  Hawk quickly picks up Nikolia and throws him into the ropes. Hawk charges at Volkoff but Nikolai moves out of the way just in time and Hawk sails though the turnbuckle and onto the concrete floor. Nikolai goes out after him and a brawl erupts outside.  Sheik and Animal then decide to go at it inside the ring. Animal eventually overpowers Sheik and throws him out of the ring just as Hawk tosses Volkoff back into the ring. The Warriors set up the Doomsday Device on Volkoff and it’s over.

The Road Warriors ANIMAL & HAWK defeat IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF by pin in 10:36.

The Road Warriors' arms are raised and the ref hands Animal and Hawk their tag titles. There is a mixture of booing and cheering throughout the arena. The announcer thanks everyone for coming out and blares that Harley Race has been injured for five cards and as a result of Killer Kowalski’s earlier actions, he has been suspended for one card.
