Card 05 – Civic Centre, Brantford, ON – February 15, 2015
Nigel McGuinness v. Justin Credible
It is all McGuinness in the early going until Credible counters a backdrop attempt with a piledriver. We get a couple of exchanges on the floor and McGuinness eats the guardrails. Credible unleashes the SINGAPORE CANE and gets a near fall as the fans give it to the official. Deathjump misses and Credible crash and burns. McGuinness cover for two before attempting his own deathjump with similar results as Credible counters with a boot. Credible takes the match back to the floor and runs McGuinness into the rails a second time, this time busting him open. The referee calls for the disqualification and both men brawl to the back to end a wild opening bout. (2.5)
Koko B. Ware v. Iron Mike DiBiase
The fans are dancing with the Birdman. The action is slow paced early on which favours DiBiase but the Birdman does show he can counter his way out of trouble. DiBiase gets caught on the top and Ware makes him pay with a slam to the mat. GHOSTBUSTER follows and DiBiase barely gets a shoulder up. A deathjump clotheslines does more damage but DiBiase is able to get out of hammer lock and use a body slam to set up a TOP ROPE KNEE DROP for a near fall. The action goes back and forth for some time with DiBiase mixing punches and take downs. His kicks to the jaw are impressive and take a toll on Ware. Ware is in trouble when a hip toss does not work and DiBiase takes advantage with a series of punches to get the three count. (2.5)
Austin Aries v. Chris Hero
The pace is excellent early on and Hero shows his skills including a moonsault. A Hero Stomp gets a two count. Aries turns the tide with an elbow in the corner and then assaults Hero at ringside with a chair shot busting him open earning some solid heat from ringside. Frog splash connects for two. A groin kick and eye rake do not earn Aries any further support from the fans but Hero gets cheers from a big chop to the chest which sets up a Big Boot to the chin. Hero hooks the leg and gets the win. (2.0)
Angelo Poffo v. Colt Cabana
Cabana has the fans rocking with all his typical offense with a big pop for the Bionic Elbow. A Flying hip attack down Poffo and Cabana goes for the win with a COLT .45 but gets only a two. After some brawling on the floor Cabana misses a powerbomb attempt but Poffo cannot take advantage as his choke slam attempt is countered. Flying hip attack catches Poffo off guard and Cabana rolls him up for the pin (Snake Eyes). Poffo is not pleased with the result and goes after Cabana after the match but gets backdropped to ringside for his trouble (1.5)
Jerry Lynn (Inj 2) v. Bryan Danielson
Lynn has his shoulder taped up as he comes to the ring. Danielson is relentless in his attack early on especially with is kicks. The action goes to the floor and Lynn is able to reverse a whip and Danielson goes shoulder first into the ring post. Lynn cannot maintain any offense however and Danielson goes back to work. An enzuigiri nearly kills Lynn. Suplex arsenal targets the shoulder. Danielson dives onto Lynn at ringside sending both men crashing into the barricade. Danielson later nails a full nelson suplex onto Lynn’s injured shoulder. A Yakuza Kick spills Lynn to the floor and the Dragon takes flight again with a dive. Lynn beats the count out. Lynn gets whipped into the rope and counters a backdrop with a piledriver. The fans explode. CRADLE PILEDRIVER. 1, 2, kick out. Lynn is on a roll including a top rope hurcanrana but Danielson stops him cold with a Yakuza Kick for a big near fall. Danielson applies the TRIANGLE CHOKE and Lynn cannot counter. (3.0)
Extreme Rules Match – Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) v. PG 13 (Wolfie D. & J.C. Ice)
All four men get some time in the ring with the Boyz pressing the advantage early on. Things pick up when Ice backdrops Acid over the ropes to the floor. Ice cracks Acid with a chairshot in the middle of the ring and then is joined by D. for a BACKBREAKER\ELBOW. Kashmere makes the save. D. continues to work over Acid including a choke slam (ch) for a big near fall. Acid takes a beating and is a bloody mess before he can get the tag out to Kashmere who cleans house. The Boyz with a Backseat Driver to D. for a two count. CRADLE BREAKER from Kashmere. Ice is blocks by Acid but D. kicks out of the cover. Kashmere grabs a chair and cracks D. with it busting him open. T-GIMMICK. Ice makes the save. Acid and D. brawl on the floor and a low blow turns the tide. Acid eats a hubcap from Ice. Kashmere gets another hot tag and tears into Ice. Dropkick connects to the chin and sets up a CRADLE BREAKER. Ice kicks out. Kashmere attempts to use a metal pipe on Ice but the tables get turned and Kashmere is busted open. Ice cracks Kashmere with a hubcap for another huge near fall. Kashmere stops the momentum with a low blow of his own to D. Dream Sequence 2002 looks great. PG 13 battle back. Leg sweep and clothesline to Acid. Kashmere is blocked and Ice hooks the leg for the three count. Impressive victory for PG 13. (4.0)
Tyler Black v. Tiger Mask
The pace was incredible to the action from the outset. Black connects with a flipping dropkicks followed by a big boot. Turnbuckle powerbomb has Mask reeling but he comeback with, reverses a whip into the corner and hitting the running slingshot. TIGER SUPLEX for two. Twisting moonsault connects as does a deathjump. Back suplex and Mask suddenly gets the three count (Snake Eyes!). Black protests saying his shoulder was up but he decision stands and Mask is going to get the next shot at the Canadian Heavyweight Title. (2.0)
Canadian Open Tag Team Title Match – The Armstrongs (“Bullet” Bob Armstrong & Brad Armstrong) v. Valiant Brothers (Jimmy Valiant & Johnny Valiant) w/Captain Lou Albano
Lots of defensive tags early on in this one as both teams struggle to break out. It is a virtual stalemate and Albano is looking nervous on the floor as the fans get on his case. Inside the ring, Brad Armstrong is able to rebound Jimmy Valiant into a perfect dropkick and then scores the first two count with a knee lift. The Bullet cannot maintain the momentum and the Valiant’s switch up a couple of times keeping Armstrong in the ring. Jimmy Valiant gets backdropped to ringside and Armstrong is out after him. It is a mistake and with some timely assistance from Albano, Valiant gets the upper hand. Armstrong is in trouble and the Valiants goes to work. The match goes to the floor and with the fans behind him, Armstrong turns things around slamming Johnny Valiant’s head into the ringside table. Brad hot tags in but is overcome on the floor by Johnny Valiant. Both Valiants are content to give Armstrong a beating at ringside with Albano getting a few stomps of his own in for good measure. A foreign object lands before Brad Armstrong is able to slip away from Johnny Valiant and get the tag. Bob Armstrong goes blow for blow with Johnny Valiant. Whip to the corner and Valiant charges but the Bullet moves. Roll up for 1 ½. Armstrong with chops and knee lifts. Both sides are able to make tags and the action goes back and forth once again. Jimmy Valiant steps up the attack running Brad Armstrong face first into the post. Really sick colour. Armstrong collapses in a heap at ringside after he hot tags in his father and the Bullet is going to go it alone. The Valiant takes full advantage leading to a SUPER ELBOW for a near fall. Valiant tosses Armstrong to the floor and the Bullet crawls back in and is hit with a second SUPER ELBOW. Armstrong kicks out. Johnny Valiant maintains with a punches and then a kick to the groin that earns huge heat and scores a two count. Brad Armstrong is finally back on the apron and gets back into the action. He is quickly overwhelmed. Fist drop from Jimmy Valiant for two. Kick to the groin from Johnny and the fans want to tear apart the referee. SPINNING NECKBREAKER. Bullet with the save. Brad is able to get the tag and the momentum changes. Bob Armstrong is taking on both Valiants. Knee lift on Jimmy Valiant scores two. Deathjump clothesline and vertical suplex back to back. Armstrong with back to back suplexes and covers but Johnny is in for the save. Bullet runs Jimmy Valiant into the ringpost and busts him open. Back in the ring, Brad Armstrong comes off the top with a deathjump crossbody. 1, 2, Brad trips Johnny Valiant and the referee pays no attention to Albano, 3. We have new champions! (5.0)
