Thank you for the comments cruefan68 and Pariah. Great question regarding the match ranking. I believe I actually started a threat at one point asking what constitutes a five star match. For this federation, I am using the pin tokens as a base (add them up and divide by two) as the based. From that point, I adjust based on my gut. For me, the big thing is how much back and forth action there is. More near falls usually equals a more intense action and therefore a higher rating. Near falls from finishers increase the rating vs. near falls from non finisher moves. Blood and high spots also impact the rating. A clean finish is important as well but I am not against giving a five star ranking to a DQ finish depending on proceeded the finish. Right on... That's pretty much how I go about rating matches as well (very dependant on the amount of back and forth action, as well as number of high spots executed)... Many thanks for the reply!

As I noted in another post I am loving the television broadcasts and it is cool to see you using the Norm Keller and Lord Athol Layton combo. Brings back great memories. The MLG show looks great, really looking forward to Aris vs. Black as well as the tag title main event and the debut of the Killer Bees.

Thank you for the feedback cruefan68 and joebreakdown. I am happy you are enjoying the segments. Card 08 Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, ON β March 15, 2015 Chris Hero v. Mikey Whipwreck Really tight early on. Hero breaks out with a big boot. Whipwreck is able to rebound Hero into the ropes but Hero catches Whipwreck with an inside cradle for the quick three count out of nowhere. (1.0) Koko B. Ware v. Justin Credible Ware has ringside up on their feet as he makes his way down the ramp to do battle. Credible is anything but impressed and a short powerbomb forces Ware to the floor. Outside, Credible chokes out Ware with his Sinapore Cane and the Birdman cannot recover before the referee finishes his ten count. Great heat for Credible as he leaves ringside with the count-out win. (dud) The Poffos (Angelo Poffo & βLeapingβ Lanny Poffo) v. The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) The Poffos earn some heat by rejecting the Beesβ offer of pre-match handshake. The Poffos control early on although both sides get tags in. Lanny Poffo connects with a dropkick on Brunzell for a one count. Victory roll by Poffo nearly ends it before Brunzell gets the best of a brawl on the floor. Double team atomic drop from the Bees sets up a Boston Crab by Blair on Lanny Poffo. Poffo cannot make the ropes or counter. The Bees win their debut bout much to the pleasure of the fans. Angelo Poffo is not pleased with his son and Lanny Poffo is equally upset that his father did not make the pin save. (1.5) Billy βRedβ Lyons v. Nigel McGuinness The match starts at a quick pace and McGuinness nearly takes the win a simple inside cradle. Lyons escapes but gets caught with a JAWBREAKER LARIAT for a big near fall. They go to the floor and Lyons reverses a whip and McGuinness does shoulder first into the post. Back inside, a rolling reverse cradle puts McGuinness to the mat for two. Lyons then applies a SLEEPER HOLD. McGuinness is done and Lyons continues to hang around in list of contenders (2.0) Mildred Burke v. Tina Moretti Burke shows she has been watching some modern competitors executing a flawless chokeslam (ch) for a two count in the opening minute of action. It is all Burke in this one as she hits everything. A power body slam gets a two and half count and the fans are really pulling for Moretti to get something going and make it a match. SUNSET FLIP gets another near fall. Moretti tries to get a breather on the floor but Burke is more than game for an exchange on the floor. Back in the ring, Burke applies the ALLIGAOR CLUTCH ending an very impressive debut. (1.0). Tyler Black v. Austin Aries This was a rematch from the last card at Maple Leaf Gardens when Black bested Aries in the opening round of the Canadian Title Tournament. What a pace to this one as the action goes back and forth with no real advantage. Black catches Aries with a superkick that stops him cold and then mounts the corner. PHOENIX SPLASH misses! Aries then mounts the corner for a frog splash and two deathjumps of his own. Aries goes for third but Black gets the boot up. Gods Last Gift looks awesome and Black is off on a tear. Black mounts the corner for a deathjump but Aries rolls clear. 1 count. Brainbuster in the middle of the ring and Black is in trouble. Aries applies LAST CHANCERY and gets the submission (2.5) Non-Title Match β Canadian Heavyweight Champion Danny Hodge v. Bryan Danielson Danielson wants nothing to do with Hodge early on and draws great heat when he bails to the floor. Hodge takes the bait and comes out after Danielson who connects with a series of kicks. Danielson has a good run of offense before Hodge slows things down with a Hodge Headlock. Danielson again bails and Hodge is out after his opponent running Danielson into the ring rails. The referee lets them go. Danielson counters out of an attempted chokeslam and catches Hodge with a running knee in the corner. Full nelson suplex puts Hodge on his head and the fans gasp. 1, 2, kick out. Hodge is in some trouble and Danielson comes off the top twice with a deathjump smash. Four count choke is countered with a sleeper and Danielson can barely escape. Hodge mounts the corner but gets tossed to the mat for his trouble. Danielson attempts another full nelson suplex and this time Hodge counters out. The Hodge Headlock is an awesome weapon. Standing dropkicks from Hodge look crisp. Danielson gets a knee up in the corner and lays in the uppercuts. Hodge grabs a Headlock again and then hits a standing dropkick followed by the OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL for two. They exchange counters back and forth and Hodge uses a Boston Crab to force Danielson to the floor. Hodge comes outside again and for the second time in the match he gets caught with a series of kicks. The pace picks up. Running knee strike for Danielson followed by MMA Strikes. Danielson with a knee in the corner and a full nelson suplex. Hodge rolls to the floor and Danielson dives onto him leading to a near count out. Back to back deathjump smashes. The fans are pleading with Hodge to come back. CATTLE MUTILATION and Hodge makes the ropes. Danielson stays focused and goes to the hold immediately. Hodge again makes the ropes. Crossface chicken wing and the a suplex arsenal. Suicide dive and ringside is electric. Back in the ring, Danielson covers. 1, 2, shoulder up. CATTLE MUTILATION. The referee checks on Hodge who is unresponsive. Danielson backs up his boasts and is the clear top contender for the Canadian Heavyweight Title. (5.0) Canadian Open Tag Team Title Match β The Armstrongs (Brad Armstrong & βBulletβ Bob Armstrong) (ch) v. Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) The fans are still buzzing after the previous action and many are wondering if the Danielson β Hodge should have closed the show. Handshake gets the action underway. The Boyz are able to cut off Brad Armstrong from his corner for a stretch. Bob Armstrong tags in and overpowers Kashmere with an atomic drop. SLEEPER but Kashmere makes the ropes. It is all Armstrong including a pair of vertical suplexes. Armstrong gets the best of a brawl on the floor and traps Kashmere in another SLEEPER. Rope break. Brad Armstrong is in and connects immediately with a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP. Bullet cuts off Acid but Kashmere gets the shoulder up. Armstrong forces Kashmere to the floor with a knee lift. Outside, Kashmere turns things around and then tags in Acid. Dream Sequence 2002 has the fans buzzing and an ACID BOMB follows. Kashmere blocks the pin save. Armstrong is beat but PG 13 hit the ring. Acid eats a hubcap. The referee restores order and Armstrong covers Acid. 1, 2, kick out. Bullet takes the match to the floor and Acid runs him into the ring post. Boyz make the tag and then team up for T-GIMMICK. 1, 2, kick out. Acid with an ACID BOMB. Brad Armstrong saves his father. Acid is attacking from the top with deathjumps including a clothesline. Armstrong counters a bulldog and tags in Brad Armstrong but a Backseat Driver shuts him down. Both sides are able to get tags. Acid scores with a double knee in the corner followed by a Yakuza kick. Bob Armstrong kicks out at two. Blue Thunder Bomb sets up a Yakuza kick that spills Armstrong to the floor. Acid dives onto Armstrong on the floor and the fans are on fire. Armstrong cannot regain the ring and is counted out. The Boyz come away with the win but not the gold. After the match, the Boyz get on the mic and call out PG 13 who are game. There is a wild brawl. Suddenly, the Valiant Brothers arrive and attack the Armstrongs and it is compete chaos at ringside. Security floods in to break up the two brawls. (3.5)

That was a fantastic show at MLG. I was happy to see Bob & Brad Armstrong retain the tag titles, even via a count loss, and that post-match four-team brawl was great. Bryan Danielson over Danny Hodge in the non-title match was epic. Loved the fight in Hodge at the end as he didn't go down easily.
It was good to see Austin Aries get a win back against Tyler Black in what could be a great rivalry. Nice action on the rest of the card with the Killer Bees winning their debut (and the tension teased between Angelo & Lanny Poffo), Billy Red Lyons scoring a big win over Nigel McGuinness and Mildred Burke picking up a solid win over Tina Moretti.

As cruefan68 already stated... Aries vs Black has the potential to turn into an excellent rivalry... And Danielson's non-title victory was brilliant... Would love to see his upward momentum continue all the way to the big prize... Acid & Kashmere are rapidly becoming one of my favorite tag teams... Awesome win over the champs, even though it didn't result in the title belts changing hands... Maybe a Fatal Four Way between the top teams would settle this situation... For a little while, at least... Possibly your best show to date... Amazing work!

Continue to enjoy the weekly highlights program... Was Danielson sending Hodge a message though that unfortunate jobber?
The Crowland Arena show looks like it's gonna be a wild one... Really looking forward to Aries vs Hero... And the eight-man tag match should be one for the ages... Danielson & Tyler Black make a truly dangerous pair... I could see that main event getting out of hand real quick... Great stuff!

Killer Bees (Jim Brunzell & B. Brian Blair) v. The Poffos (Angelo Poffo & Leaping Lanny Poffo) It is back and forth early on with both teams wrestling with caution. Lanny Poffo breaks things open against Brunzell with a sick looking full nelson suplex followed by a deathjump clothesline. SKY DROP. Blair makes the save. Brunzell is in trouble but is able to get the tag to Blair and the momentum switches. Credible cracks Whipwreck with his Singapore Cane and the referee calls for the disqualification. Credible dishes out a couple of more shots with the weapon before leaving the ring to great heat. (1.5)
Nigel McGuinness v. Iron Mike DiBiase Both these competitors are at the lower end of the top contenders and are looking for some traction to move up in the rankings. DiBiase catches McGuinness with a forearm slug early on which sets up a TOP ROPE KNEE DROP for a big near fall. DiBiase to feel the win coming and hits his finisher again but McGuinness gets the shoulder up. It is all DiBiase with a mixture of brawling and punishing holds.
