Pro Wrestling America TV is now All World Wrestling!!
The new year brings a special announcement on the title situation of the T.W.F as federation officials have scheduled a way to clarify the title picture within the heavyweight and tag-team divisions. Last week we heard about the “Clash of Champions” signed between TWF Champion Macho Man and Champion Wrestler Cup winner Buddy Rogers for the new All-World Championship. Sean Mooney reported word that TWF President Jack Tunney has a ordered a special league style round-robin. This tournament will begin on this broadcast as five teams will compete for the rights to win the beautiful new title belts.
The event which forced the hand of TWF officials is that current TWF Champions Ted Dibiase and Andre the Giant will not compete. The big news is Andre the Giant has returned to Europe! Some say he has become disenchanted with the materialistic approach of Ted Dibiase. As a concession, Ted Dibiase is allowed to choose a substitute for this event. His sub is also an “international business associate”, Nikolai Volkoff!
The five teams: National Champions (South Atlantic/US) Road Warriors Universal Champions (Caribbean) the Gladiators Central States All-America Champions (Midwest) The Hennigs All-Pacific Champions Superfly Snuka and Bruiser Brody TWF representative Ted Dibiase and Nikolai Volkoff !
Teams will receive 10 points for a pin or submission win with 5 points earned for a technical win (DQ or COR) or draw. Losing teams receive 0 points for a loss.
Finally, due to the growing reach of the TWF television show, Pro Wrestling America is now re-branded as All World Wrestling which has a perfect start with this historic event!
All-World Tag-Team League Night One from Atlantic City, NJ Round One The Road Warriors def. The Hennigs following a double clothesline and two DOOMSDAY DEVICES (10 points to 0).
The Gladiators def. Superfly Snuka and Bruiser Brody, DQ (5-0) Wild match between two vicious teams. Dibiase and Volkoff get the bye in round one.
BuzzsaW def. Pelvis Pressly in a non-tournament match. Buzzsaw cut through this rock 'n roll phony with a PRESS/SPLASH combo after tossing Pelvis around like a barbell. Pelvis called out Hacksaw Duggan after this loss. Unsure of the reason why but interesting nonetheless.
Round Two Superfly Snuka and Bruiser Brody def. Ted Dibiase and Nikolai Volkoff (10-0) Brody and Fly were on a roll and Brody used a thunderous JUMPING KNEE DROP to beat Volkoff.
The Hennigs def. The Gladiators (10-5) Larry Hennig matched power with these two strongmen and got the surprise pin with a double forearm hammer. The Road Warriors had the bye for round two.
Hacksaw Duggan def. Iron Sheik by DQ. Duggan wasted little time saving the ring announcer from a possible physical altercation by the Sheik. All the announcer did was begin the intros but Sheik was not finished jawing at the crowd on the house mike. Sheik's partner Nikolai Volkoff stuck his nose in this match as these rivals have brought back their feud to All World Wrestling.
NOTES: All World Tag-Tournament standings Road Warriors gained 10 points along with the Hennigs for first place after two rounds with the Warriors only wrestled one match. Superfly Snuka and Bruiser Brody have 5 points along with the Gladiators. The Dibiase/Volkoff combo was the only team shutout in rounds 1 & 2.
Disappointing to see Andre the Giant leave the TWF, but the colorful influx of talent should make up for this loss. Wonder what Andre does next as the last few matches in TWF he was involved in some unusual matches? The rumor is he had to attend to some personal matters in Europe and that the materialistic approach of Dibiase wore him thin.
The upcoming All-World Heavyweight Title Match between the Macho Man and the Nature Boy has already guaranteed a top-notch match at King of the Hill. Plus the 10 wrestlers announced for the King of Hill match should give the first two entries, Heenan and Albano stiff competition. Stay tuned for more news.

All World Wrestling Television at Columbus, OH. Rounds 3 & 4 for the All-World Tag-Tournament - Gladiators have the bye for round three with the Hennigs scheduled for a round four bye.
Round Three Superfly Snuka and Bruiser Brody def. The Hennigs (20-10) Snuka and Brody have lived up to their international reputation as Brody polished off Curt with a JUMPING KNEE DROP.
Road Warriors def. Ted Dibiase and Nikolai Volkoff (20-0) Warriors leverage a liberal dose of the DOOMSDAY DEVICE to pin Dibiase
Non-tournament bonus match: Hacksaw Duggan def. Pelvis Pressly by DQ. Pressly has a penchant for DQ losses it seems as every match with him features high-drama.
Round Four Ted Dibiase and Nikolai Volkoff def. Gladiators, DQ to notch their first tag-league win (5-5) Dibiase and Volkoff took control but when the match spilled to the floor, Brute lost control smashing Volkoff in the back with a chair. Volkoff was stunned but kept attacking the Universal Champions.
The Road Warriors DDQ, draw with Superfly Snuka and Bruiser Brody (20-20). A wild match between these two teams. Apparently they are very familiar with each other especially in their tours to Japan. Brody and Animal took the fight to ringside and each grabbed an end of Brody's chain. They tried grinding the chain into their eyes, along with attempting to choke each other. Brutal finish with both teams tied in points. Brody and Snuka have the bye in round five but the Warriors could break the tie with a win over the Gladiators in the final league match. NOTES: Snuka and Brody have the fifth round bye while the Road Warriors need just any win to break the tie and win the tournament . . .The Hennigs face Dibiase and Volkoff in a consolation match of sorts as neither team is in the running.
All-World Tag-League Scores: Road Warriors - 20 points Snuka and Brody – 20 points The Hennigs – 10 points Dibiase and Volkoff – 5 points Gladiators –5 points
The Fifth and Final round is up next in Alberquerque, NM. Can the Road Warriors take home the titles? A special grudge match is on the card as well as Hacksaw Duggan faces rival Iron Sheik., plus Bobo Brazil, Gorgeous George and Rob Van Dam all are featured in singles action.
See you at ringside!

Thanks for the words Mike, appreciate the feedback. Wanted to something special with the new color cards and while it is not an official reboot, still recognizing the influx of talent.
As for the Road Warriors facing Brody and Snuka. Never know what surprises the dice hold. While I do roll the write-ups before the postings, have a contingency plan to lineup any challengers to these titles. Stay tuned for more.
By the way, the old NWA avatar is great!!

SPECIAL REPORT with Bill Apter: An update on King of the Hill as more competitors were announced for the big gauntlet style rumble royal but before the latest news there is another update on Bobby Heenan and Lou Albano.
Bill Apter was once again on location to track down Bobby Heenan and Lou Albano, who were again exercising in an empty arena. This time they were performing various isometric exercises from the arena floor. Bill Apter questioned why these workouts are held in these locations instead of a gymnasium. Albano snapped back "We know if we invited you nosey reporters to our regular workout location you would hound us forever."
Heenan was next to speak and pulled out two plastic drink containers with the "BrainCap" logo from a gym bag (also with the logo). Heenan again touted the benefits of the special formula and ingredients in BrainCap. Heenan reminded everyone that "BrainCap is a primary sponsor for King of the Hill and we have received subscriptions from all over the globe on our new program. Plus look at the shape we are in as we each lost weight and look years younger." Apter agreed but told the duo he had to read a disclaimer from TWF headquarters: "While TWF has allowed BrainCap air time and limited sponsorship for the upcoming event, the federation does not endorse, condone or substantiate any claims thereof this product's effectiveness. Any further pursuit and claims to that end, will require legal attention."
Heenan and Albano were flabbergasted at this proclamation and blamed Apter for planting a bug in the ear of the commissioner. Heenan in particular claimed that Monsoon (TWF Vice-President) and his cronies always had it in for me. Apter stated the contrary as he just learned of this news shortly before the broadcast.
Albano finished the segment by stating "They will let the results of King of the Hill will do the talking for BrainCap as one of us will win that rumble and as of today you are cordially disinvited from further interviews with us. You had your chance at a golden opportunity and blew it." Apter shrugged and signed off.
Matches signed for the King of Hill in Arizona, besides the 25-man gauntlet battle royal centerpiece. There are five spots open in that match:
Featuring: Bobby Heenan, Lou Albano, Harley Race, Bobo Brazil, Lou Thesz, Rob Van Dam, Gorgeous George, Jet Set Strutter, Dude Brohan, Warhawk and Pelvis Pressly.
Plus Diamond Dallas Page, The Destroyer, Pampero Firpo, Red Pirate Rogers, Curt Hennig, Larry Hennig, Ted Dibiase, Nikolai Volkoff and Hammer Head are also ready to rumble.
Other matches signed . . . Clash of Champions: TWF Champion Randy Savage versus Championship Wrestler Cup winner Buddy Rogers
Mania Champion Dark Invader versus BuzzsaW. The challenger is out to avenge his friend and former champion, Lazer. The former champ suffered an injury after his title loss to Dark Invader but Buzzsaw saved the day from serious damage.
Future updates will announce the final five spots along with the complete match lineup.
See you at ringside!

Round Five of All-World Tag-Team Title League at Alberquerque, NM – Brody and Snuka have the final bye but were in the building.
Non-tournament match: Bobo Brazil def. Rock Riddle Brazil wore down Riddle using the hammerlock constantly. A series of COCO BUTTS won the match going away for Bobo.
Round Five Match Dibiase and Volkoff def. The Hennigs (10-10). The Hennigs were DQ'd as Larry was frustrated with Volkoff's tactics especially with the appearance of the Iron Sheik! Larry slammed Sheik's flagpole into Nikolai's gut but after Sheik jabbed the Axe with it!
Gorgeous George def. Ron Hutchinson. The second match of the evening to feature the hammerlock prominently as George latched onto Hutchinson with the classic hold. George surprised the crowd with a patient submission win.
All-World Round-Five Match The Road Warriors DDQ with the Gladiators (20-5) The Warriors second straight no-contest match as things got out of hand. While Snuka and Brody had the bye, they still appeared at ringside. Brody jawed with all four men andthrew a few swipes at the chain when the action got close to the ropes. All six men began brawling and ignored the referee after a pin save by Brute after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE. The 3-way brawl was all she wrote as the entire match escalated into a street fight.
The Gladiators took the house mike and claimed a typical TWF ripoff. Brute said they are not returning to these rings as the fed is full of back jumping cowards. This statement did not deter Brody, Snuka and the Road Warriors from stopping their brawl as each used everything at their disposal.
The ring announcer said a special playoff, one-fall-to-a-finish will occur during King of the Hill between these top two scoring teams in the tournament as TWF officials were ready for a contingency plan in the event of a finish like this. Excellent news!
All-World Tag-League Final Scores Road Warriors - 20 points Snuka and Brody – 20 points Dibiase and Volkoff – 10 points The Hennigs – 10 points Gladiators –5 points
NOTES: The Road Warriors will now face the Superfly Snuka and Bruiser Brody for the All-World Tag-Team Championship during King of the Hill: One-fall-to-a finish!
King of the Hill is fast approaching but next week a few warm-up matches will get the TWF ready for the big event: Hacksaw Duggan and Iron Sheik will take it to the mat once more with special troubleshooting referee Morgan Dollar as the third man. . . Bobo Brazil faces Nikolai Volkoff in another featured singles match . . . Meanwhile in a King of Hill preview TWF Champ Randy Savage teams with the Road Warriors to face Nature Boy Buddy Rogers, Superfly Snuka and Bruiser Brody in what is shaping up as a barn-burner! Harley Race tries to avenge his loss in the Baltimore Championship Wrestling Tournament as he takes on Gorgeous George . . . Ted Dibiase tangles with Scott Casey while Lou Thesz will grapple with young sensation Tim Donst to round-out the card.

Tucson, AZ The last stop before the King of the Hill hits Phoenix. Besides the card a special awards banquet is scheduled for the day before. The banquet will include celebrations and the announcement of the year-end award winners from the Wrestling News. The MC is Bill Apter and Mike Lano is also participating with interviews and photos. Shaping up for an exciting weekend.
Ted Dibiase def. Scott Casey Great mat action began the card. Casey was fired up but the cagey Dibiase sidestepped a turnbuckle charge and hit a neck-snapping lariat! Another clothesline from the buckles set up the COBRA CLUTCH nicely for an impressive win. Casey did show plenty of heart in the losing effort, which went noticed by TWF officials as Casey was offered the first of the remaining three "at-large" bids for the King of the Hill.
Tim Donst upset Lou Thesz Donst upended Lou Thesz by using his high-impact offense to stun the veteran. A Chikara Special, DONSTITUITION and St.Louis Slam was the winning sequence in this match between two Missouri natives. Thesz shook Donst hand after the contest. Tim Donst was offered one of the "at-large" bids due to this victory.
Six-Man Tag Team Match Superfly Snuka, Bruiser Brody and Buddy Rogers def. Road Warriors and TWF Champion Randy Savage Wild action but brief as fists, kicks and bodies were moving in all directions. Each team had their chances to keep the advantage but Brody surprised Animal with a set of Dropkicks to win the bout. Very exciting preview of two feature matches at King of The Hill.
Nikolai Volkoff def. Bobo Brazil Volkoff used his power to keep Brazil on the mat. Nothing fancy by the big Russian but very effective. Used his patented BACKBREAKER DROP to notch the win. Volkoff and Sheik continued the assault but Hacksaw Duggan raced to Brazil's aid to clear the ring. Volkoff was whacked hard on the left shoulder with Duggan's 2X4 and left ringside favoring that limb. The crowd cheered the combination of Duggan and Brazil on their way back to the dressing room.
Bonus Matches (non-tv) Harley Race def. Gorgeous George Race won by DQ as he used suplexes to get George in trouble but the use of bobbie pins and perfume atomizer forced the referee to stop the match in Race's favor. Race got a win back but unsatisfactory as he could not keep George in the ring.
Grudge Match with Morgan Dollar as troubleshooting referee Iron Sheik def. Hacksaw Duggan, DQ Dollar lectured both men not to try any wild and crazy antics as each man had an ally at ringside, Brazil for Duggan and Volkoff in a sling for Sheik. Hard-fought match but while Duggan got the DQ when Brazil interfered with a COCO BUTT on Sheik, the ref missed when Volkoff took a poke at Duggan with the Russian Flag pole. Dollar called for the bell on Bobo and while he was very impartial he missed Volkoff's involvement.
King of the Hill is approaching, next we will have a full lineup of the matches and the wrestlers signed for the King of the Hill match.

A relatively low-key Wrestling News Awards Banquet had the announcement of the following winners before King of the Hill: Wrestler of the Year: Buddy Rogers won with 45% of the vote. This was the closest voting of the balloting but was won on the strength on Rogers victory in a Unification Match and his year-end Championship Wrestler Classic Tournament win which earned a full-color spread in the Wrestling News. Former TWF Champion Nick Bockwinkel was runner-up with 43% of the vote and another former TWF Champ, Mr. Saito garnered only 11% of the vote.
Tag-Team of The Year: The Megabucks won the award with the second largest margin of the awards 44% over runner-up National Tag-Champions, The Road Warriors. Former North American Champions Stars & Stripes notched 22% of the votes. Many of the Megabucks tremendous last wave of votes were driven from Dibiase's Grass Roots campaign of providing gift vouchers in exchange for issues of the Wrestling News which contained ballots. While some question the ethics of this move, TWF have not challenged the result as the Megabucks were dominant champions who did not lose the title in the ring.
Fighting Spirit Award: Randy Savage won by the largest margin of votes for an award 48% to Magnum TA's 31% and Dutch Savage's 21%. The Macho Man winning the TWF cemented his standing in the polls as the fans recognized this and his gutsy crusades against the Heenan Family and against Pampero Firpo.
Match of The Year: The closest vote was nearly a 3-way tie headed into the final week of polls. The winner? November Pain's Inter-promotional Tag-Team Battle Royal with co-winners: The Megabucks and The Road Warriors as a member of both teams went over the ropes at the same moment. Unusual yet exciting finish to such a big match. While the Battle Royal earned 36% of the vote, another November Pain match: Macho Man Savage defending against Magnum TA was 3rd place with 31%. The Battle of the Belts match from SuperBrawl where North American Champion Buddy Rogers won the TWF Championship from Nick Bockwinkel was runner-up with 32% of the votes. A great year in TWF.
The King Of The Hill is next!!!!

KING OF THE HILL from PHOENIX ARIZONA - PART I Bonus Mania Wrestling-Play-In Match for 25th spot in the King of the Hill: Starboy def. Cobalt Commander with a running clothesline.
Buzzsaw with Lazer def. Mania Champion Dark Invader to win the title. The injured former champion Lazer cheered on his partner Buzzsaw in this title match. Invader hit Buzzsaw with a piledriver and a CORRUPTOR but Lazer stopped the count, yelling at the champ. This distraction turned the tide as Buzzsaw rebounded nicely with a PRESS/SPLASH COMBO to win the title! Lazer and Buzzsaw celebrated the win to the delight of the crowd.
All-World Tag-Team Championship, One-Fall-To-A-Finish: Road Warriors def. Bruiser Brody and Superfly Snuka to win the All-World Tag-Team Championship. Wild match started with a bang as Brody interrupted the ring introductions but the advantage was short-lived, as the Road Warriors used their teamwork to rally back. A double-clothesline led to Animal covering Snuka to close this wild brawl. While the match was over, the brawling continued as Snuka and Brody worked over Animal after the match. Hawk prevented serious damage but Animal was limping a bit but with the newly won title belts.
All-World Heavyweight Championship Match with Morgan Dollar as referee: Buddy Rogers def. TWF Champion Randy Savage by DQ. A lackluster match began fast and furious as Morgan Dollar tossed all extras from ringside: April the Huntress for Savage and Dr. Mike Lano with Rogers. Savage went overboard as he choked Rogers with a mike cord after the battle spilled to the floor. While the TWF Championship cannot change hands on a DQ, the All World Championship is still vacant as the title must get won by pin, submission or count-out. A rematch is expected between the two and ensure a clean finish to settle this championship dispute.

KING OF THE HILL - PART II King of the Hill Rumble: The order of entry 1. Rob Van Dam 2. Red Pirate Rogers 3. Larry Hennig 4. Dude Brohan 5. Jet Set Strutter 6. Bobo Brazil 7. Harley Race 8. Warhawk 9. Bobby Heenan 10. The Destroyer 11. Pampero Firpo 12. Diamond Dallas Page 13. Scott Casey 14. Tim Donst 15. Hammerhead 16. Lou Albano 17. Gorgeous George 18. Hacksaw Duggan 19. Nikolai Volkoff 20. Pelvis Pressly 21. Lou Thesz 22. Iron Sheik 23. StarBoy 24. Curt Hennig 25. Ted Dibiase
Match Notes: The Brain Cap venture seems to have almost paid off. Bobby Heenan was boasting of his tremendous cash flow from this enterprise, but Albano was tight-lipped. During the match, Lou Albano was unceremoniously dumped by Lou Thesz but Bobby Heenan survived to the finish. At one point, Albano saved him from a near elimination which forced the Brain to lie face down in the corner, clinging to the bottom rope. When Albano was eliminated he woke up Heenan but the still "groggy" Heenan made it to one knee. His recovery was short-lived as a phantom, errant elbow waffled him back to la-la land on the floor. If this Brain Cap venture does not work out, he should hit Hollywood with his Grade A flops.
Larry The Axe Hennig impressed as he tossed a number of top-flite competitors: Dude Brohan, Bobo Brazil, Gorgeous George. Lou Thesz surprised the big man dodging a save from his son Curt in the process. Curt was quickly eliminated by Thesz leaving three men: Thesz, Dibiase and the Brain.
Ted Dibiase entering at #25 was fresh but the Brain bounced up from the floor and helped Dibiase double-team Lou Thesz to toss him out. Dibiase then made a money payoff symbol and Heenan leapt over the top rope winning the match! Thesz was noticibly angry with Heenan playing possum for most of the time he was in. Bill Apter and ringsiders claimed that Dibiase offered Heenan “twice what he got for his number” before the winning elimination. Apparently there is a high likelihood that Heenan sold his chance for victory down the river for Dibiase's money.
Ted Dibiase wins the King Of The Hill!!
