CARD 1210 – AETHRAN WAR DOME: Vengeance is on the balcony reserved for top military personnel presiding over the first wrestling card back on Aethra. Who knows what he is thinking as events unfold. It can only be a matter of time before he returns to ring action. Especially if the Gladiators continue to struggle. Heavyweight champ, Max Shield, does enough against Mandrill and comes out as a DQ winner. Mandrill would love nothing more than to win the Heavyweight belt on Aethra. His Colonizers just about have the upper hand on the Gladiators in the feud mainly through his efforts. However having the belt is seen in many eyes as the ultimate symbol of leadership. Mandrill is well aware that for someone of his supposed status his record with the main belt isn’t the greatest. Three short runs. Nothing dominating like some of the legendary villain leaders of the past like Thantos and Chaos. The fact that winning it would take beating long time enemy Max Shield means it could kill two birds with one stone for Mandrill. Of course Max is determined not to let that happen and explodes out of the blocks. He even manages to send Rouser scrambling out the ring. He gives Mandrill very little opportunity throughout. Max’s defences are stronger than ever and it takes a lot to hurt him. He’d already put a couple of fatigue tokens on Mandrill by the time a decent impact with THE OMICRON FORCE comes (+4). Rouser is left with little choice as Mandrill would almost certainly of been pinned after that. He enters the ring and smashes down his sign onto the back of Max who was covering. Instant DQ for that. The pain must of barely registered as Max gets up and grabs Rouser by the throat. He threatens to ask security to open the gates and throw Rouser into the Aethran crowd where he would surely be torn to pieces. Rouser is petrified. Max forces him to beg which Rouser obligingly does. Whilst Rouser is kissing the feet of Max he shoots a glance to where Mandrill had been hoping for some help from his boss. Fat chance as Mandrill had already recovered his senses and was half down the runway by this time. He was facing a gauntlet of hate from the crowd himself from the Aethrans. Weapons like hammers were being smashed against the steel fences in the hope that something might break and they could get at Mandrill. Unlikely to happen but Mandrill wasn’t taking any chances and hurried towards the supposed sanctuary of the curtain. He didn’t even change. Just headed for the nearest teleporter. He must be dreading coming back next week. Malice and Overkill crushed Rebel Empire. The noise that greeted Malice and Overkill was unbelievable. The clanking of metal boots by the Aethran crowd hasn’t been heard for a long time. Had almost forgotten how deafening it could be. They didn’t relent either. Rouser led Rebel Empire out but he didn’t look at all comfortable out there. His sign had nothing pained on it as he feared any insults towards Aethrans could be the end of him. The intimidating atmosphere seemed to affect Rebel Empire too as they make a weak showing with Nefarus getting zero ring time. Overkill does the majority of damage as he pulverises Vendetta. Any attempts to fight back are immediately snuffed out. Within a few minutes the Gladiators are setting up UNSTOPPABLE FORCE. Rouser makes a half hearted effort to distract which was totally ignored and Vendetta got pinned. For added effect Overkill had gotten hold of Rouser immediately after the finishing sequence and pressed him into where Nefarus was standing and leaving them in a heap. Malice and Overkill have suffered some strange losses this year already but always bounce back to beat Rebel Empire as they are now 2-0 against them. It’s a shame Thunder is letting the side down for them in this conflict with the Gladiators so far. Of course that could all change over the next two weeks. The SWAT Team hands Twin Blood yet another loss. Cannot believe I’m saying this but Twin Blood is badly in need of a win. They had a period where they looked seemingly unbeatable. That was until their record breaking belt run ended and since then they have looked very average. Of course they are still a great team. One of the best ever. However it was time to prove it again. Especially in their home dimension. It’s Centra where they were showing their best. DM suggests “maybe with Disorder X gone they’ve lost some motivation”. To the horror of their manager, Johnny Rocket, they slip up again. Aside from an early pin save from Warfare to help Trench after TWICE BITTEN it was all the SWAT Team. Probably the best performance of the wrestling careers so far. Sleeze is the recipient of most of their punishment. Trench really weakened him with his finishers DOUBLE ARM DDT and the illegal METAL RAMROD. However it’s Warfare who wins the match for them as he hits Sleeze with a backward head slam. Corporal Aegis has a tough time beating Grovel. Murdok turns up the heat in his feud with Aegis. He wants a piece of him again and accuses him of hiding behind the skirt of Trisis. A brave hero like Aegis would never do that and I am sure they’ll meet again at the next supercard. For now though Aegis will face Grovel. Aegis doesn’t grapple it straight away. He knows Grovel is like a lost puppy in this dimension and it’ll follow just about anyone. He thinks maybe Grovel can be a useful ally of the ROC and tries to show it kindness and friendship. He offers a handshake. Grovel inquisitively sniffs his hands and then talks gibberish. Suddenly a loud yelp cuts through the air. Grovel was biting down hard on Aegis showing it was not about to be tamed. Aegis managed to get free and clasps his sore hand. He summises he better just get on and beat Grovel. It was all going pretty swimmingly until he used CORPORAL PUNISHMENT. Grovel managed to survive and starts to give some fight back. Coming within a whisker of a victory which would have caused Aegis great embarrassment after Face Smothering. After this it looks like it could go either way or even hit the time limit. It was becoming a bit of a slog and I was actually about 3 or 4 moves from reaching that point when Aegis gives it one final big push and uses his finisher again. This time it does the job and keeps his good record since arriving in this dimension going. Blade ruins the comeback of Necros. The evil dictator is back in the GWF part-time. His subjects might be relieved as things have not been good for them since he was back at the helm almost 20 years ago. Necros doesn’t appear to of aged a day. In fact he looks even more bloodthirsty. Blade is his opponent. Although chiefly focused on tag teaming Lord Nexus wants him to keep his singles ranking relatively high with the odd match. Pre match Blade quips how he hopes to drive a stake through the heart of Necros. Then goes out and delivers by getting the win. Far from a walk in the park although Blade was never in any serious trouble. Managed to win in quite a spectacular way via a moonsault. Blade later admits he is loving being a member of the Titans. Being part of a bloody feud with the Brymstonians he was wondering if one day the stress would break him. He thanks his mother Lorelei for seeing it as he was too blinkered. Skinhead knocked out Mutant. Filler match. Prob not where Skinhead wants to be on the card but he’s quit moaning about Paragon and his status on the Rocketmen team after appearing to suddenly become very chummy with him. Skinhead even thinks they could be an effective tag team. The certainly had a great match with Next Generation a couple weeks ago and it would be cool to revisit that at some point after the double DQ outcome. For now though he needs to keep attention on the wild Mutant. I was not expecting much of the match really but sometimes you get unexpected classics. This was so nearly in that rare 5* category as there were pin attempts galore, managers getting beaten up and plenty of out of ring brawls. Eventually Skinhead laid Mutant out with BRASS NUCKS (about the third time) and pins it.

CARD 1211 – SATURDAY NIGHT STARSLAMMERS – AETHRAN WAR DOME: Nasty altercation earlier in the day between Pegasus and Paragon as this feud gets going in earnest. The carrot of a potential shot at the Heavyweight belt being dangled to the winner (although promises from Cordanus are easily broken). Plenty was said that cannot be repeated on the air as the commentary team tells the story. Aethran civilians had formed a ring around them encouraging them to fight each other in the street. That was until law enforcers waded in. Tag champs, Blacklist, lose to Light Speed by DQ. Cordanus making a habit of fast tracking people to title shots. Never thought it would be from a rival team though. He must be keen to humiliate his enemies and this is a way of getting them into the ring. He is confident Mensa can handle even two speedy veterans like Enigma and Prodigy. It was a shame Avenging Warrior couldn’t be here. He might of neutralised the threat of Thantos who has agreed to manage Blacklist here (usually he doesn’t). Thantos becomes instrumental in saving the belts. Mensar had been mauling both Enigma and Prodigy. Cordanus wanted to stroke his own ego and insisted on being tagged in so he could pin Enigma after TOTAL MASTERY. It backfires as Enigma produces a kick out. Cordanus couldn’t believe it. His attempt to tag back out gets foiled and he gets trapped in the ring. Enigma and Prodigy take turns to put on a show against him. Then after a spinning neckbreaker Prodigy covers Cordanus. Before the ref can even think about counting though Thantos has stormed the ring and showing he still has some moves drops a hard elbow onto the back of Prodigy. Mensar meanwhile had dealt with Enigma by catching his attempt leap over the ropes and slamming him into the ground. The bell rang to signify the DQ which would save the belts. This wasn’t over though as Mensar looked to continue attacking both members of Light Speed. He drags both of them into the centre of the ring and prepares to squash both of them with a big splash. As he rebounds off the ropes he is shocked to be met by Wolf who clotheslines him down. Wolf couldn’t resist coming to the War Dome despite not being on the bill. He had seen everything developing and hurtled to the ring to help his new teammates. Mensar picked himself up and warned Wolf that what he had done was a bad idea. They end up grappling in and out of the ring and soon Light Speed joins in. Both Cordanus and Thantos are compelled to get involved to even up the numbers. Bodies go everywhere until security comes out from the back much to the annoyance of the rowdy Aethran crowd who were loving what they were seeing. A rematch between Blacklist and Light Speed surely beckons. Better than that though is it really sets up the first meeting between Mensar and Wolf next month which will also be the first ever Table match. Euritar defeated a sick Encubus to claim the Interplanetary belt. Whatever happens here Takeover is still going to be in control of this belt. Cordanus has made sure to orchestrate that. Reynard B. Guile was allowed to accompany Euritar but has been warned there will be a harsh penalty to pay for any interference. Of course no such restriction applied to Thantos. Cordanus is wary of giving him too many orders even though, if rumour is to be believed, he would secretly prefer Encubus dropped the belt to Euritar. There was a good chance of that happening though with Encubus still suffering sickness. He’d managed to wrestle through it on the last card. Although the big difference is he had a partner to lean on there. This time is way too much for him to cope with. His early offence broke down and Euritar beat him with the first pin he tried following an underhook suplex. Thantos admitted later on it had been a huge mistake for Encubus to wrestle (who could be heard chundering into a bucket somewhere nearby). Problem was if Encubus hadn’t defended before the end of the month under GWF rules the belt would have been declared vacant. So it was a no win situation. Murdok ominously beats Max Shield in what was non title match. Murdok would prefer to get hands on Corporal Aegis as mentioned on the last show. However Max Shield is also very high on his list of enemies. Plus the fact that Max is the current Heavyweight champ would mean beating him in a non-title bout might set up a possible title shot further down the line. Is Murdok motivated by something like that? Anyhow the most intriguing thing about this is the effect Murdok has on people. Even the rowdy Aethran crowd quietens down to observe him. Max shows restraint and patiently waits for the arrival of this self proclaimed ruler. Grovel ambles along behind Murdok looking quiet disturbed by the surroundings. A random clank of metal almost freaks it right out. After that it proves to be little help although in truth Murdok doesn’t really need it. Murdok ominously dominates Max. It seemed that Max might come through after surviving POWER OF THE PLAGUE (+5). A few more minutes down the line and Max hasn’t really been able to respond. The move comes again with similar potency. Nobody was surviving that although to be fair to Max he did manage to kick out. It was just a fraction too late (he had to roll 12 due to all his fatigue and managed an 11). Murdok wins and in the space of one match has announced himself to this dimension as a very major player. Will be interesting to see where this goes from here. It was disappointing for Max to lose although in his defence he might have been very tired after a couple of gruelling title defences and probably not being in the greatest of shape. Just taking on a bit too much. The Gladiators defeat the Colonizers in a crucial 6 Man Titan Death Elimination match. Massive meeting. The most important clash yet between the two warring teams. The atmosphere was incredible. Huge hostility towards the Colonizers as they troop out. The crowd here is separated by high steel fences to hold them back which is just as well. From a birds eye view it looks the entire ring is surrounded by one huge cage. The Gladiators slowly march out. No emotion showing on any of them. On reaching the runway they stop briefly to acknowledge the minister of war, Vengeance, on his balcony. Each Gladiator pounds their chest before then entering the ring. It’s all an act to intimidate the Colonizers. Vengeance then signals with an outstretched fist and the entire crowd starts that metal boot stomping in unison. It must of had an effect on the Gladiators as they overcome a poor start to blow the Colonizers away with two wrestlers in hand … Mandrill eliminated Malice first via MUTANT MAULER. Things already getting tense among the home crowd as the Gladiators lose a wrestler first. They’d earlier dominated Nefarus and hit him with UNSTOPPABLE FORCE only to let him slip away to safety … Thunder evens it up by beating Mandrill after THE TEMPEST. Long, long fall which Thunder carries entirely on his own. He took Voltaic Stunner a couple of times and also COLONIZER CLAW SLAM but still came back, with a little help from Overkill, to beat his main rival. He had already impressed Vengeance with his effort but how much does he have left in the tank? … Thunder manages to finish Vendetta. Again down to THE TEMPEST. Overkill played a much more involved role for this fall … Thunder then virtually assures his legendary status on Aethra as he quickly beats Nefarus after a double underhook DDT to win the match for the Gladiators. The cacophony of noise that greets this deciding victory is ear splitting. Pegasus wipes the floor with Paragon. Cordanus has told Pegasus how disgusting it is that a legend like him was pushed down the card so fast. He is impressed by his recent results and offers him a chance to go for gold again and prove he is still the GOAT. Only catch is he’s got to beat Paragon first. The guy is making lots of promises and won’t be able to keep them all. So we will see. Anyway Paragon and Pegasus had already crossed paths on arriving in Aethra. Not many outsiders walk the streets here but instead of using their time constructively they both went out to kill time and nearly had their match outside the War Dome. Thankfully this was still able to happen. They both made their curtain call in the nick of time. There are already a few cuts and bruises visible on them. Pegasus was in the better condition and started faster. Within just 6 moves he opportunistically goes for PROJECT PEGASUS and it gets him the win. As if that wasn’t bad enough for Paragon he ends up getting beaten on afterwards. Euritar, who is wrestling later on, has been told by Reynard B. Guile to prove he is still dedicated to the Great Comeback team. He answers this by joining Pegasus to help him double team Paragon. Johnny Rocket doesn’t do much to help Paragon amid rumours he’s p*ssed off with him over another matter. Paragon just had to take it until they get bored and leave. Mercifully he’s not badly injured by the beatdown and within hours he’s issuing a match challenge. Not to Pegasus though. It’s Euritar that’s he’s after! Genocide over Anarchy by DQ. Genocide is still just as likely to face a fellow villain than a hero. Murdok hasn’t fully gotten him under his spell yet. A match against Anarchy was unlikely to end cleanly. Even more so with Grovel and Tortured Soul outside, although they were more concerned with grappling each other. Doesn’t go for very long. Genocide’s physical capabilities are even too much for someone like Anarchy. He leaves the ring after being bounced about for a bit. Genocide’s pursuit ends with him meeting the thick end of a chair. Not once, not twice but three times. That was enough even to put Genocide onto one knee. Anarchy sees no value in hanging around and leaves with Tortured Soul. Not even bothering to hear the announcement which was of course his disqualification. Terminus and Velar beat Moral Majority by DQ decision. New mixed tag team. We’d already glimpsed Sabre and Varsity a couple of weeks ago impressing in singles action. Although they are not aligned with the FDF they are enemies of Alien Connection too so a match like this made perfect sense. I don’t use the female conversion rules for these match types. When one sex tags out, the other team has to switch out too and it’s back down to L1O for the team initiating the tag. Seems fairest way to do it. Unfortunately the side effect is a match can be a bit of a stop/start affair and that was certainly true. It becomes quite a long match with not a great deal happening until Varsity gets himself into an altercation with Mangus outside of the ring which went badly for him as it caused him to be disqualified. Not the end of the world though as the outcome has triggered a couple of singles matches between them all which I’ll book soon. Hunger over Lorelei by DQ. Time is a great healer but Lorelei is still dedicated to making anyone from Brymstone pay for the loss of her son, Crossfire. Even if they had nothing to do with it. Hunger is her latest target. Naturally both Amazonia and Serpentine were in close vicinity. In keeping with the way her team is going Lorelei adopts an ultra aggressive style. Too much so as she grabs Amazonia’s shield and laid Hunger out with it during an out of ring brawl. When Serpentine rushes at her she gets done too and the two Amazon Brawlers stood over them like victors. Although in reality Lorelei had lost by disqualification. Despite the result it has been a great start to her life as a female wrestler and next week things could get even better as she challenges Supernova for the ladies belt. The pair of them have already been bantering across various social media platforms.

CARD 1212 – AETHRAN WAR DOME:
Final stop off at the Aethran War Dome. It’s been interesting. Just as intimidating as anyone remembered. There have been lots of crowd disturbances as they reacted to the match outcomes. They riot when the Gladiators win and they riot when they lose! Thunder was hoping to end it on a good note by beating Mandrill. Also hoping that not quite so many matches end in DQ as the last show was littered with them. It could be that wrestlers get even more hardcore because of the setting and also the referees are on a more heightened alert. A side effect of Aethra.
Ladies champ, Supernova, halts the charge of Lorelei. Aethran crowd had no respect for this. Virtually everyone had departed by this point and those that were left turned their backs. Even the military balcony was empty. Probably all came as a relief to the combatants. Both heroines. Kind of on good terms as this approached although some of the social media bantering had made it hard to tell. I suppose a good indicator of how heated this would be was whether Amazonia would be at ringside with Lorelei. She was NOT. That didn’t affect Lorelei though as she starts like a woman possessed. Supernova struggled to live with her and was having to produce a kickout after MATERNAL RAGE. Supernova isn’t one to roll outside the ring under pressure. She spurned several chances to do so until the punishment got too much. Usually Lorelei would have the upper hand outside due to being more of a brawler. However Supernova surprised her by winning one after launching her face first into a ring post. That completely changed the complexion of the match. Supernova was totally on top after that and managed to defeat Lorelei after a tilt-a-whirl slam. It was a great win although slightly tarnished by the fact she used a ring post smash to set it up. Lorelei later said “no hard feelings, I’d of done the same given the opportunity”.
Mandrill defeated Thunder in a Barbed Wire Cosmic Cage match. The Gladiator-Colonizer feud has really taken shape over the past few shows. The Colonizers were firmly in control but the Gladiators are back in it. Particularly after Thunder’s starring role on the last show where he eliminated all the Colonizers. However there will be many more battles to come this year. This particular one surely to be among the most brutal of any. Both know that losing would also mean a likely injury. Unfortunately for Thunder this performance undid much of his good work from previously. He just allowed himself to get smashed into the barbed cage sides far too many times. Mandrill wasn’t spared either although he wasn’t losing as much blood and stayed in the better shape. He managed to soon pin Thunder after a MUTANT MAULER. Maybe with this win the Colonizers have edged back ahead in the feud. A quick check sees them 4-3 ahead in matches against each other now. Thunder paid the price for the defeat as he sustained the maximum possible injury length from the match.
Nefarus beats Malice by DQ. Rare foray into singles for both guys. In the past both have shown their solo capabilities though. In fact probably been more successful when they’ve been on their own having both enjoyed decent runs with the Interplanetary belt. That was far from their minds here though. This was all about the feud between the Gladiators and the Colonizers rather than any boost to a singles ranking. Nefarus surprises everyone with his fast start. Three pin attempts in less than ten moves. Malice not only survives but surges back with FIELDS OF MALICE. It doesn’t end the match though. Nefarus withstands the brief bombardment and assumes control again. Probably about to win it after SCISSORDRIVER for the third time only for Brute to storm into the ring causing the DQ. Vendetta had been at ringside and decides to attack Malice afterwards which triggers a prolonged brawl. This really stoked up the Aethran crowd. Nobody got injured though and when the smoke cleared Malice had challenged Vendetta to face him in a singles match.
Mensar over Draconian Sheik by DQ. Cordanus hasn’t forgotten that Drac was one of those that beat him in his failed run as Tyranny. In fact Drac was the one that put the final nail in the coffin. Not that Drac cares or even remembers. Cordanus has already got back at Drac slightly by turning a blind eye to the recent lottery attack on him by Splatter. Drac is only just healed from that. It becomes a lousy match. Lorelei doesn’t come out to ringside which was understandable given her big match later. First time it goes outside the ring Drac just runs amok. He starts smashing the steel barriers separating the crowd with a chair in response to the clanking of metal boots. Cordanus shoots the ref a disapproving look which puts him under pressure to call the DQ and give Mensar an easy win.
Wolf tears apart Antak. Slow month for Wolf. He keeps himself busy by demolishing Antak. Taking no more than a few minutes to get SAVAGE FACE CLAW locked in. Things will explode next month as Wolf will finally face Mensar in the new Table match. It’s time to start sharpening his claws.
Transformer beat Stars and Stripes by DQ. American Guy comes to the ring sporting a black eye rumoured to be from some recent BBQ brawl (details to be revealed soon). It’s about the most interesting thing of the match. It was messy and never flowed. Stars and Stripes ended up DQ losers. Strangely it was US. Male as the aggressor instead of his hotheaded partner. He broke the American flag pole over both Nth Degree’s heads during an out of ring brawl.

STARS OF THE GALAXY - VOLUME 16
Its back! The always popular digital download from GWF.com featuring selected matches from dark shows with commentary added in post production. Almost as fun as the actual matches though is the unusual segments/skits that always get included … First up we see a GWF house show through the eyes of a robot. One of the many mini garbage droids that scoot about at venues dealing with litter was fitted with a high res camera. As we know some have come to grisly endings at the hands of angry wrestlers. This poor thing is no exception. You could hear the thuds from the nearby ring at first as the view shows it going up the runway. Through the curtains where it runs into Mutant which has been left unattended. Mutant mistakes it for a toilet. The image is blurred for decency but can quite clearly hear the droid being urinated into. It carries on and from the side voices can be heard. The distinct tones of Commando Sam as he discusses a plan to be put into action. Just as he gets to the good bit the droid unfortunately decides to synchronise with the cosmic cloud and data transmission sounds take over. This only lasts a few seconds but the big reveal of a future plan was missed. Then if you thought getting urinated on by Mutant was bad then things were about to get worse as the poor little fella enters on open door to check for rubbish. It’s the room allocated to Brymstone Burning. As soon as Blazing Skull sees the droid his eyes glow with excitement. The door is heard being pushed shut behind and Blazing can be seen approaching until all that can be seen is his legs. Moments later flames engulf the whole view and the video feed cuts out … Bit more cheery for the next one. The GWF runs a tribute montage to the legendary Lance At-Las who as we all now know decided to stay behind on Centra and start a new life and hopefully a new wrestling federation there. He was part of some legendary groups in his time such as the Supreme Gods, Champions of the Galaxy and FDF. A loyal servant to all those teams. Plus he is acknowledged as one of the most versatile tag team wrestlers of all time and even had a brief run as co-holder of the belts as part of Code of Honor many years ago. His singles form wasn’t too shabby either. Amid a roster of superstars he managed to win (but failed to hold onto) the IP/Centra belt twice. He’ll never be forgotten and who knows maybe one day we will see him back in our dimension if the jump between them becomes easier to achieve … Unseen footage from Talisman’s very short comeback. A fan captured this at a house show held inside the Nereid Starplex. He was going around the crowd in apparent disguise handing out leaflets uttering the whole time “can I interest you in the True Way of Life?” Many fans tore up the leaflets as soon as he was gone. Some laughed in his face. It is very apparent he is trying to build some kind of cult. When it was obvious this was going to fail he jumped ship to the CPC. They had better watch themselves over there … Last but not least, Stars and Stripes host a BBQ at undisclosed location on Earth. They’ve invited a few of the other heroes as they try and integrate themselves. American Guy is a dab hand with cooking up the burgers and great quantities are being consumed. All is going fine until an argument between Lord Nexus and Commando Sam flares up in the background. Sam looks to be the aggressor and ends up pushing Lord Nexus into the pool. It’s a worrying scene. Lord Nexus manages to climb out and stays calm. Rising Sun looked like he might deck Sam until he apologised profusely for the momentary loss of control. Clearly they didn’t kiss and make up as two distinct sides between the hero guests in attendance start to form and they stay in their own groups. With the likes of the FDF, Centaurians and Avenging Warriors sticking to one side and the Titans, ROC and Rocket Men on the other. Not at all harmonious. In the background of the final shot Paragon is seen feeding a strawberry to Nora Pelf before they disappear behind a huge bush together. What could that mean? Hopefully it’s all perfectly innocent.
Max Shield crushed Rouser in non-title bout. How does Rouser get himself into these things? Mandrill must find it funny to force him to wrestle now and then. It wasn’t all that long ago Rouser found himself going up against Corporal Aegis. That was over in the blink of an eye. Now it’s Max Shield’s turn. Max would have been pretty ticked off at how Rouser stopped him getting a pin against Mandrill earlier in the month even though it gave him the DQ win. It’s not much of a contest as expected. Max dominates although Rouser did catch him with a couple of cheap shots. Max then decides to be ultra professional and sets about finishing things off which he does via a 360 degree backbreaker … Paragon beats Euritar by DQ in non-title action. This was a very recent match and came about because of Euritar joining Pegasus (who had just beaten Paragon) to continue beating on Paragon. A match challenge was issued and Euritar accepted. Although Euritar’s star has been on the rise this served as a reminder that he still has some way to go before he becomes an elite wrestler. Paragon has him in his pocket throughout. Only the conniving Reynard B. Guile prolonged this after FINAL OVERTURE was used twice. Eventually Euritar rolls outside the ring. He can take more and shows a bit of a cowardly streak by grabbing a chair to force the DQ. As soon as he heard the bell go off he just tossed it and left. Had no intention of using it … Rising Sun beats Wraith comfortably. Wraith slightly in limbo as an independent wrestler under the guidance of Doomsayer. Not likely to receive a huge push. However he knows a win over Rising Sun is a big deal. Unfortunately he comes up well short. Rising is simply outstanding and makes pretty short work of this. He uses SUNSET SPECTACULAR to end it … Amazonia handled Thrash. Although they may not be directly engaged in a feud they’ll never get tired of facing each other. It’s the original top woman’s battle. Generally Amazonia has been the more succesful of the two over the years. That trend is continued here as she snuffs out Thrash’s aggressive and possibly reckless start. Clocks her with THE WARRIOR’S SHIELD to take a decent win. One that could put her back in the mix for the ladies belt … Desolation Factor get the better of the Ravagers. Two of the most inconsistent tag teams on the roster. On their day both are capable of beating the best. However can also be prone to alarming losses. In this match it was the Ravagers having the off night. Rankor fell to RACKED AND RUINED although in truth the Ravagers hadn’t made this at all easy … Terminus looks strong in beating Archon. Surprised a match like this was tucked away on a dark show. It’s getting its exposure now though and surely they are destined for another face off on a supercard or at least on a starslammers show. This went the way of Terminus. Had most of the match and eventually able to win via HAMMERLOCK SLAM … Stars and Stripes overcame Next Generation. Big test among two of the most exciting teams around. Kind of felt sorry for Encubus though. There’s been no relenting of his schedule during his sickness period due to Thantos’s policy of tough love. He still had enough in the tank for the team to beat the Gladiators earlier in the month. Could he dig deep again? Seemingly so as he shows dominance over US. Male and comes close to beating him with SECOND COMING. Fatally he agrees to tag out so Bloodline can go for a big finish with BLOODLINE’S BIG BANG. Bloodline misses and the whole tide of the match changed. Stars and Stripes get into full flow and American Guy significantly weakens Bloodline after AMERICAN FIREPOWER. Then US. Male comes in and they setup PATRIOT MISSILE for the win … Supernova coasts against Anaxis in a non-title match. The current champion against the former champion. No gold on the line this time. Just pride. Supernova looks born again now she’s back home. She blows Anaxis and it’s SPEED OF LIGHT that sets up the pin.

GWF REPORT (TAKEOVER 2112 CARDS 1209 - 1212)
Champions
*GWF Heavyweight Champ: Max Shield (Top Contender: Pegasus/Murdok) *GWF Tag Champs: Blacklist (Top Contenders: Light Speed) *GWF Interplanetary Champ: Euritar (Top Contender: Tocsin/Wraith) *GWF Ladies champ: Supernova (Top Contender: Amazonia)
Latest News: There was a near riot at the Aethran riot at War Dome as the Gladiators picked a miserable time to slump in the final card. It undid all the good work of the previous two cards. It means that the Colonizers are still ahead in the feud. Bloodline’s early singles push seems to be being halted. Cordanus now wants to keep the path to the Heavyweight belt clear. Just as soon as Blacklist is done with their run with the tag belts his plan is for Mensar to go after the Heavyweight belt, Euritar to continue holding the IP belt and Next Generation focus on trying to grab the tag team belts. That being said Bloodline does have a singles match next. Although it has more to do with Draconian Sheik and getting revenge. Drac was one of the wrestlers that faced Tyranny in 2103 and caused him a lot of pain and suffering. Secretly Cordanus wants him to beat Drac with the CETUS MASTERLOCK and keep it held on as long as possible to cause injury. Although the last ‘hit’ went wrong the Hitmen are sure to play a part in helping Cordanus achieve his goals.
Murdok is bragging big time about how he crushed Max Shield. He says “I have proved that I can rule the GWF by beating its weak champion. The belt he still holds should be surrendered to me. If not I will take it myself”. Whether Cordanus agrees is another matter. However Murdok has taken a huge step forward with such a win and he’s now got his foot in the door as far as the championship picture is concerned. Forget the Colonizers and Gladiators. Many see him as the future leader of the villains. The concern is if he gets too much power his ‘rule’ could spill out beyond the confines of the ring.
Another guy that is about to cause a headache for Cordanus is Pegasus. He says Cordanus promised him a chance to go for the Heavyweight belt if he beat Paragon. Which he did. Now Cordanus is backtracking and saying “I didn’t guarantee a title match, I said I’ll consider it if you beat him”. The best solution might be to pit Pegasus and Murdok against each other in a contenders match. That’s a possibility Cordanus might be considering. Especially as Mensar isn’t quite ready to challenge yet. Avenging Warrior returns next month after finishing his community service. Wonder if he’ll be more mellow? Not a chance! He is already shouting his way through promos and still aggressively wielding that crowbar.
The next supercard FESTIVAL OF WRESTLING 2 is almost upon us. A feast of 12 matches where all the biggest feuds will be in the spotlight. The main event spot is taken by the Avenging Warriors facing Takeover in an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. Conveniently Cordanus can keep himself out of it and send Mensar, Bloodline and Encubus up against Wolf, Enigma and Prodigy. Supporting this is a massive match between the Gladiators and Colonizers and this will also be an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. The Gladiators will be big favourites to win the match named after them. The whole card is not finalised yet but some of the other big matches include THREE title matches. All of the singles belts will be defended. None of the champions apart from Supernova (who will face Amazonia) know who their opponent will be as there are top contender matches set to occur over the next couple of shows. Amazonia actually has a chance to make history because if she wins the belt that will be for the tenth time. Of her previous nine title wins only six made it into the official lineage due to the controversial rule that you have to make at least one successful defence. Also such a landmark is easier to achieve for women over men due to the much thinner roster. Nonetheless it’s still a remarkable feat and one that could mean she will also become the first ever female to enter the hall of fame next time that rolls around.
The injured list isn’t showing any signs of lightening. Currently 3 guys are hobbled. INJURED – Encubus (2), Tocsin (2), Thunder (6); SUSPENDED – none
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: PEGASUS - guess you cannot keep a great wrestler down. Everyone knows how much he struggled on Centra and was trying to cling to past glories. Even winning the unofficial ‘worst wrestler of the year’ award. However he has suddenly got his act together again by blowing away the likes of Wolf and Paragon and being 100% since returning. He might even soon have one more chance to go for the Heavyweight belt. Murdok stands in his way. TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: NEXT GENERATION - even with Encubus suffering sickness they were able to secure a really significant win over the Gladiators. Cordanus wants them to be the next tag champions after Blacklist and they clearly have potential to do it. There will be need to be a transitional champion to make this happen. I wonder who the unlucky team will be because with the Commissioner’s bias and the Hitmen on high alert it’s sure to happen and be a very short reign.

The Gladiators beat the Colonizers in a crucial Titan Death Elimination match (Mandrill eliminated Malice first via MUTANT MAULER … Thunder evens it up by beating Mandrill with THE TEMPEST after a long and draining battle … Thunder keeps going and sends Vendetta packing with THE TEMPEST … Thunder does it again as he quickly beats a weary Nefarus with a double underhook DDT to win the match) 6. Rising Sun comfortably beats Wraith (thought this might’ve of been closer but Rising is vastly superior and wins after SUNSET SPECTACULAR) 7. Paragon easily beats Euritar by DQ in non-title action (Paragon had Euritar in his pocket throughout. The domination was such that Euritar forced the DQ himself) 8. Max Shield crushed Rouser in a non-title bout (always fun to see Rouser get beaten up which Max does before finishing off via a 360 degree backbreaker)

CARD 1213 – PROCYON SPORTS PAVILLION: Hobbyists take note. There is a merchandising stand outside the pavillion where artefacts from Centra are being sold off. Pieces of rock from Primus are among the most popular with one particular piece being priced very highly. Purported to of been lobbed by Wolf during a Lava Pit match. Is it all a con? Regardless it’s a nice little earner for the proprietor who is none other than Rouser. He’s even selling some of his old protest signs. Splatter causes a few fans to scarper as he picks up one of these. Starts taking some practice swings with it before deciding nothing is better than Arsenal and discarding it. Even the Collector shows up. Remember him? Very old and withered but looking to make some shrewd investments. Desolation Factor takes first blood against Stars and Stripes with a count-out win. The fans have been desiring this match a lot. The FDF may not be flavour of the month but Stars and Stripes are very entertaining. Especially the antics of American Guy. They’ve been posting some solid results too. This was their first major test against their feud rivals. You never quite know what you are going to get with Desolation Factor. Stars and Stripes were hoping to catch them on an off night. Also there were bound to be fireworks going off between Commando Sam and Mangus. Sam had done little to endear himself in the pre match promo where he had a Cygnusian flag and wiped it across his backside. As expected both teams served up a ferocious battle. Stars and Stripes more in sync initially and building fatigue tokens against Ruin in particular. However Desolation Factor powers back and they start to give US. Male a lot of problems. In escaping the hell inside the ring he fell straight into the path of Mangus who had enough time to deliver a running kick into his side. Commando Sam was his own worst enemy as his ranting was distracting the ref who missed this. With all the wind knocked out of him US. Male could not return to the ring in time to beat the count. Surprisingly there weren’t any afters although Sam used the controversial outcome to rally his cause “everyone could see tonight that we are the good guys and they are bad the guys by resorting to that, people should now see sense and get behind the FDF. We will protect the GWF”.
Splatter over Vyper by DQ. Splatter was never comfortable with Vyper’s snakes when they were a team. He appears scared of the box Vyper has brought with him. Regardless he plucks up the courage to approach it and seems ready to smash it with Arsenal. Vyper seems strangely relaxed. All of a sudden a Jack in the box springs out and gives Splatter such a fright that he drops his weapon. Vyper quickly kicks it away meaning Splatter will be without his trusty companion for the match. In truth this feud was over in Centra after Vyper dominated but this can kind of be considered as the blow off. However the outcome might mean one more match is needed. Without his trusty weapon Splatter looked toothless and was dominated. He hung on through VYPER’S SIDESHOW twice though and on managing to break up the bombardment by rolling outside enticed Vyper to join him. Vyper lost his head and managed to get a hold of Splatter’s own weapon Arsenal. Took a huge swing with it and then went after Krakan. He didn’t quite manage to get a double hit. No bother, seeing Splatter semi-conscious on the floor was satisfying enough. Although getting disqualified won’t do Vyper’s ranking any good. Does he even care though? Twin Blood defeated Off The Wall. Twin Blood has looked flat in the last few matches. Looking for a win to kickstart them. No guarantees that would be easy to get against the unpredictable Jesters. In fact they were downright awful in the opening few minutes. Sleeze could of been pinned after just one move and Dreggs got into trouble trying to do too much against the Jesters and being forced to withstand JAGGED EDGE from the original Jester and A DEAD MAN’S VERSE from the cloned Jester. Johnny Rocket loses his sh*t with them and bellows into the mic “what’s wrong with you? Get it together”. Dreggs managed to respond and finds a counter move against the clone. Puts together a run of offence and wins the match via a Maxus Moonsault. Twin Blood may of won but it was far from convincing. Dreggs and Sleeze were even blaming each other for the poor performance until cooler heads prevailed. They are not quite in a pit of despair yet although some of their biggest fans are a tad worried.
Scion Nexus beats Dark Justice by DQ. Is Justice considering a face turn? Word is that he doesn’t agree with the Hitmen helping Cordanus out but he might be too frightened to open his mouth. We all know what Krakan is capable of. Just ask the Terrorists. Although if a return to the hero side is on the agenda it’s not enough to make him leave his rod at home. Fortunately it never got used. Krakan had spoiled the match before it had a chance to get going by attacking Scion Nexus after he’d been thrown from the ring. Justice didn’t look happy to lose by DQ but maybe should be questioning the wisdom of sending Scion outside. Krakan is never really one to hold back. Thrash easily beats Lorelei. Not a good outing for Lorelei as she is slain by Thrash. Struggling to deal with the ferocity of Thrash’s offence and unable to survive a Gladiator Piledriver. Sabre upsets Velar. Sabre looking like a really solid wrestler. Gives the experienced Velar a real run for her money. Both had periods of domination and failing with their finishers. Sabre shows great conditioning for a final flurry and grabs an upset win via a cross arm breaker.

CARD 1214 – PROCYON SPORTS PAVILLION: Special matches across the board. It’s not a supercard or even a STARSLAMMERS show but it’s suddenly turned into one of the most significant cards of the year so far. Mainly because of Mensa and Wolf meeting in a Mensa Table match. Also because there have been a great many DQ outcomes in recent cards. Wolf defeated Mensar in the first ever Mensa Table match. Ask anyone and this is the meeting everyone’s been waiting for. Cordanus has held off as long as possible. Keen to establish Mensar as a monster and not let his heat get killed straight away. He’s certainly succeeded on that front. However he stumbles here despite early domination. All the tables get broken within mere minutes. The most dramatic moment being when Mensar puts two tables on top of each other in the centre of the ring. He then hoists Wolf on top of them before climbing to the top of the turnbuckle. Mensar then jumps off onto Wolf. His huge size ensures he smashes through both tables. Anyone normal would have been done for. Except this is Wolf. He survived the immediate pin attempt and the sight of his own blood all over the floor served to rev him up. Suddenly he fights back hard and Mensar is no longer able to have his wicked way. The crowd is in a frenzy as Wolf gets going. A Howling Moonsault puts Mensar on the deck. As he tries to get to his feet after that Wolf lunges forward and locks on the SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Mensar desperately tried to prise Wolf’s sharp fingers off of him but cannot do it. Wolf is going red in the face as he’s putting so much force into the hold. Mensar eventually fades and Wolf pins him. Wolf cannot contain his excitement. He picks up all the pieces of tables scattered around the ring and puts them all over Mensar leaving him buried before leaving. After a couple of minutes of nothing happening Mensar began to stir. He then bursts out from underneath looking enraged. Revenge will be at the forefront of his mind. It’s been a very bad night for Takeover losing key matches. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch 😆. Draconian Sheik stunned Bloodline in a Cosmic Cage match. Bloodline’s CETUS MASTERLOCK has proved very effective against all wrestlers to wear them down. Especially against big men. Now Cordanus wants it be a way of badly injuring his enemies. Drac is certainly one of those. Bloodline was naturally wary of entering a cage against someone as wild and unpredictable as Drac. However he puts up a defensive masterclass to snuff out everyone that comes his way. Completely dominating and slapping on his secondary finisher three times in a row. Should surely of been enough to win with only he chooses to follow up with BLOODLINE’S BIG BANG. He undoes all the good work by upping its risk and jumping off from the cage to increase its height and missing with it. Drac proving to be more mobile than expected got out its path. Drac wastes no times as he then grabs Bloodline by the hair and face plants him into the side of the cage. Lorelei has obviously taught him well because he then finds his way out of the cage via the door despite all the noise and distractions. The outcome will be sure to of driven both Cordanus and Thantos mad. The Ravagers defeated the SWAT Team in a Turnbuckle Shock match. The matches getting progressively more hardcore. The electrified turnbuckles guaranteed twists and turns. Nobody was shy about using them. Although I guess that’s the name of the game. The Ravagers by winning could take firm control of this feud although the SWAT Team is suddenly riding high having upset Twin Blood last month. It became a contest of two distinct halves. The SWAT Team were outstanding in the first part but couldn’t get it finished. Even Warfare whose finisher THE BIG PAYBACK was even more potent as it involved the turnbuckle. The Ravagers took advantage of getting let off the hook and were really strong in the second half. Particularly Ventross who showed some great all-round wrestling. However it was Rankor that initiated the victory as he managed to setup RAVAGER FACE DROP on Warfare which allowed Ventross to then pin him.
Malice mauled Vendetta in a Titan Death match. This was small fry compared to the huge Gladiators-Colonizers Aethran Ultimate Escape match just a couple of weeks away. However it still represented a big chance for the Gladiators to level up the feud before then. Malice was the hot favourite having had a singles background. He doesn’t disappoint as he mauls Vendetta and hits with FIELDS OF MALICE to take the win. Terminus overcomes Varsity in a Titan Death match. Terminus beats the curtain call so he can publicly desecrate both the flags of Cetus and America. He has a canister of paint and sprays scum over both of them. Varsity is not taking it lying down. He won’t have his birthplace or his adopted home treated in such a way. He sprints down the runway and skilfully grabs a chair on route without barely breaking stride. Terminus tried to spray the paint in his face. Luckily the chair proved an effective shield. Varsity then took a swing and managed to knock the can into the crowd. Although at the same time he lost his grip on the chair. The referee, who is only in there to count pins, slides the chair under the ropes which forces the combatants to start wrestling. Once they start wrestling and the weapons are no longer in reach it actually becomes a decent flowing match. Terminus in control to begin. Varsity grows into it and has a great middle spell. However Terminus prevails in the end. His greater experience and strong all round skills allowing him to close out the match via an Aran Power Drop. Sniper defeated Taechon in a Titan Death match. Low key. Sniper doesn’t have it all her own way. Manages to get the win though. Her trusty TARGET PRACTICE finisher is the move that seals it.

CARD 1215 – IO COLISEUM:
Guess who’s back? Vanity is on commentary with Dragonmaster and the pair start what will become a legendary partnership. Vanity bigging up the villains and DM favouring the heroes. All done in their own inimitable styles. As time goes on they will kind of become friends with this weird love-hate relationship. For now Vanity is loving being centre of attention and announces to the cosmos “I’m back. Life is delightful. I’ve left a trail of broken hearts behind me the last few years but I wanted to be back in wrestling and give all our female fans a treat”. Tag champs, Blacklist, controversially beat Light Speed by DQ. This was tense as Avenging Warrior is brought into close capacity with Cordanus again. His actions would be watched very closely. Somehow he manages to resist any violence. There were a few twitches that suggested his rage might be ready to explode but he held it in throughout despite his team being thoroughly shafted. They’d manage to pounce on Cordanus before the opening bell to force him as legal man in. It was a big opportunity to win but they let him get a defensive tag after a couple of minutes and that was last we saw of him in the ring. Mensar did all the wrestling from here on and despite his immense size and strength he was struggling. There was too much firepower to cope with and he had to bail out of the ring to break the flow. Enigma, as most wrestlers do, followed him out to try and get the match going again. Suddenly the bell rings. Everyone wonders why. Then comes the announcement that Blacklist wins by DQ. To say there was uproar was an understatement. We got no official reason as to why. DM on commentary surmised that the ref was just biased. Of course Vanity had another viewpoint and said the ref could be seen quite clearly telling Enigma to stay in the ring and was rightly disqualified for ignoring the instruction. Murdok rules the ring against Pegasus. This was a top contender match. Pegasus looked disturbed to be having to face Murdok but he’s already come through big tests since returning to this dimension. 2111 was not a vintage year yet this smooth talking scoundrel has got himself back in the title mix with some incredible recent form. Reynard B. Guile is like a magpie for the gold and tries to advise Pegasus. The look on Pegasus’s face suggests he finds B. Guile patronising although he knows he might need him. Especially with Grovel lurking about and ready to protect Murdok. He certainly did need B. Guile who saves him from almost certain defeat. However there was only so much he could do. Sustained offence from Pegasus was sporadic at best. Murdok just looked stronger and hungrier. On delivering POWER OF THE PLAGUE (slightly less potent +3) for a second time there was no coming back for Pegasus. B. Guile had already played his interference and distraction card earlier so that was not an option. For the sake of the story let’s just say Grovel was now giving him a hard time. After Murdok pins Pegasus he ominously stands in the ring and shouts out. He doesn’t need a mic to make himself heard. He demands the crowd bow their heads to the new ruler of the GWF and soon to be of the dimension too. There was stonewall silence and some of the frightened crowd, mainly kids, actually do it. For the sake of us all let’s hope Max Shield does a number on him at FESTIVAL OF WRESTLING. Encubus defeated Draconian Sheik. Finally Encubus is free of the effects of the poisoned pellet. Thantos describes his son as merely suffering ‘growing pains’ as sickness and injury are weak traits. Encubus doesn’t look happy though and lets Drac dominate. Is his father’s legacy already casting too big of a shadow? Thantos was hoping Encubus might fare better than Bloodline did against Drac but it didn’t look like he would. Especially when Encubus got carved open by Drac’s repeated usage of a sharp object. However Thantos showed his worth as a manager and also that he is more prepared to put his body on the line for Encubus than Bloodline by attacking Drac outside the ring with a Satanic Skull Smasher. Blood is thicker than water after all. It’s probably what turned the match as Encubus was able to move towards the win after that which he sealed via SECOND COMING. Lorelei tried to interfere at that point and Thantos despicably floored her with a clothesline so she couldn’t. Wraith pinned Tocsin. Still seems weird thinking that Tocsin is a hero. He’s something of an acquired taste. The fans do get behind him though and if rumour is to be believed the winner of this will get to face Euritar at FESTIVAL OF WRESTLING for the IP belt. Tocsin did briefly hold it on Centra and probably never thought in a million years he’d get close to it again. Subsequent champions have claimed the stink left on the belt never truly vanished. Fortunately he won’t get the chance to further add to its perceived odour as he loses here. Wraith nearly had him beat in two moves with an Invisible Death Dive. Tocsin survived but the vast array of add 1 moves beefed up by Wraith’s invisibility that were used upon him took a considerable toll. Tocsin did briefly threaten an upset with SENTRY STUNNER used twice in a row. However they were easy kick outs from Wraith. Then when Tocsin went for a deathjump he seemed suddenly overcome by exhaustion and fell off the turnbuckle rather than jumped. Wraith couldn’t believe his luck and moved across with the cover to win.
Velar crushed Ms. Liberty. Poor Ms. Liberty. Due to the growing dislike of Commando Sam and the FDF team she finds herself getting booed. She wouldn’t say boo to a goose yet she’s painted as a villain here. She has been unaccompanied but on hearing all of this that buffoon Sir Ender makes an urgent dash to be at ringside which draws her less heat as laughter replaces it. Is he her knight in shining armour? Ms. Liberty looks distinctly unimpressed and tells him to go away. Sir Ender refuses and stands his ground. Vanity on commentary pipes up “urghhh, Sir Ender is too good for an ugly woman like Ms. Liberty”. DM promptly tells him to shut up and that Sir Ender is a laughing stock. Either way he’s not going anywhere. Velar ends up winning the match pretty easily. Ms. Liberty barely got any offence in and after a spinning DDT wasn’t getting up. As soon as she was pinned Sir Ender rushed into the ring and attacked Velar. She normally would be able to look after herself against this buffoon only was caught unaware. He threw Velar outside and smashed her repeatedly over the head with a bucket until it was actually Ms. Liberty who put an end to it. Upon recovering she was horrified to see what was happening and didn’t want to be associated this. Later Sir Ender bemoans Ms. Liberty’s lack of gratitude “after that chivalrous act she should now be worshipping the ground I walk upon. I won’t be helping her again. There are far more deserving damsels in distress”. For whats it’s worth Velar was injured for 2 cards as a result and Sir Ender may now pay the price from someone like Terminus or even the entire Alien Connection team if they can be bothered with him.
Ninja Assassins too good for Skinhead and Paragon. Seems that Skinhead and Paragon are still appearing to be good mates as they link up again to face the Ninja Assassins. Skinhead jokes (at least we hope it’s a joke) “we will show Twin Blood how it’s done”. A reference to Twin Blood’s losing effort against the Ninjas a couple months back. Interestingly amid the backdrop of rumours about Paragon and Nora Pelf cozying up Johnny Rocket stays away from ringside. It takes a lot for Johnny to miss a match so there must be some animosity. Unfortunately his team sure could have used him as they struggle to cope with the fluidity and high octane offence of the Ninjas. Skinhead was particulary out of his depth and after a third DOUBLE EDGE SWORD finally got pinned. Paragon didn’t look too impressed and this might cool the friendship they have struck up.

CARD 1216 – FESTIVAL OF WRESTLING 2 – POLARIS INTERSTELLAR STADIUM: GALACTICON is the jewel in the GWF crown but with two massive Aethran Ultimate Escape matches main eventing maybe Cordanus is trying to change that. After all FESTIVAL OF WRESTLING 1 was his idea back in 2109. Takeover whitewashed the Avenging Warriors in an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. This was huge and it was good to see the fans getting behind the Avenging Warriors straight away. They may not like the way Avenging Warrior is conducting himself but nobody wants to see Cordanus and his Takeover team succeeding. After a prolonged entrance period into the cage that included Wolf insisting on climbing in rather than go through the door the two teams were set. It was a no brainer that Mensa would start for Takeover. Cordanus would have leaned heavily on Thantos for tactics but even he knew Mensar would be best used to inflict as much damage as possible in the early stages and leave Bloodline and Encubus fresh. They would undoubtedly have the greater conditioning and in a match like this it could be vital. Not that the Avenging Warriors were short of that. Guys like Enigma and Prodigy can wrestle for extraordinarily long periods without dropping their pace. Backed up with the ferocious desire of Wolf they were be a formidable team. Things began with Mensa and Wolf dominating the match. Mensar’s bubble had been burst by Wolf in the recent Table match between them and he was hellbent on showing that was a fluke. He could not of wished for any better as Takeover ended up absolutely creaming the Avenging Warriors. This was how it all went down … Mensar exits first against Enigma. As said earlier Mensar spent a long time in the ring with Wolf at first. He was on the end of a lot of punishment. However Wolf eventually lets his teammates have a crack after he struggles to muster any escape attempts. Light Speed maintained domination for a while. Some very quick thinking from Prodigy during this. His partner, Enigma, tried a flying body press on Mensar but got caught by him. Before Mensar can powerfully slam him Prodigy comes up behind him with a dropkick sending Enigma tumbling into a pin position. Shame pins weren’t being counted though. Gradually Bloodline and Encubus come into things and we probably got virtually every possible match up in a long first fall. Finally Mensar gets back into the ring and uses his immense power to suplex Enigma into the side of the cage to become the first escapee … Bloodline is next to escape against Enigma. Not nearly as long. The Takeover team is in a commanding position after Next Generation is all over Enigma with Bloodline being the one to beat him after a running lariat. Encubus selflessly took on both Wolf and Prodigy to facilitate his dash through the door. Trouble is Encubus is now alone in the cage. Such is the nature of this match closing it out is very tough. The Avenging Warriors will be expected to start coming back now … Encubus destroyed Prodigy to close out the win. Despite being alone Encubus is undaunted. He carries on where Bloodline left off by beating on the hapless Enigma. When Enigma got the defensive tag there was hope the Avenging Warriors might now start to get going. Only Prodigy was even worse. He took even more bombardment. Encubus needed all his finishers plus an Encubus Crucifix to finally finish things off. Desperate attempts to stop his escape fail as he dives through the door. Wolf tried to grab an ankle only to be left clutching at air. When Wolf tried to follow him and continue the brawl outside Mensar just swung the open door with tremendous force into his face. Wolf will be left with a lump on his head for days after that. Nobody could quite believe how easily Takeover had won this and nobody could accuse them of doing anything underhanded this time
The Colonizers defeated the Gladiators in an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. There is a real edginess about the Gladiator team. The GWF roadshow came to Aethra and after a strong start it all ended badly. Thunder losing that final match to Mandrill was viewed as a tragedy and now he is injured. Although an injured Thunder is still better than nothing and we have to remember the last meeting between the teams. An elimination match in which Thunder excelled. Naturally the atmosphere inside the cage was very combustible and with no official rules we had plenty of 6 man brawling in the opening minutes until things settled a bit and those not tagged in mainly stayed on the apron. After a long battle it was the Colonizers who emerge victorious with Mandrill winning the decisive match which just made it an even more bitter pill for the Gladiators to swallow … Vendetta escaped against Malice after THE BIG FALL … Thunder levels it up by escaping against Mandrill. The amount of fatigue Mandrill was carrying is unreal and he literally gives up trying to stop Thunder suddenly walking out the door. He was just too weak. Both he and Nefarus took so much damage during this fall that it does not bode well for the Colonizers … Nefarus manages to win against Malice after a spinning back kick. In fact now the Colonizers look favourites as Malice is now barely able to function what with the 7 fatigue tokens he now has … Mandrill eventually manages to win against Overkill. Despite the numerical advantage and the fact they are a regular tag team Malice and Overkill still cannot beat the tired Mandrill. They were pretty token laden themselves. Mandrill used COLONIZER CLAW SLAM on Overkill and easily got out the cage. Malice could barely move much less attempt a successful pin save. Sorry to say that the Colonizers are now back in firm control of this feud. Such failures from the Gladiators might only hasten Vengeance’s return to the ring. Murdok shocks Max Shield to win the Heavyweight belt. Max is pumped. He hasn’t cared one bit whether it was Murdok or Pegasus that he’d be facing. Most champions like to know long in advance. His attitude is “to be the best you got to beat the best and be prepared to face any challenge at any time”. However it seemed apt that it ended up being Murdok seeing as the ROC and Murdok’s World are feuding. Unfortunately Max’s eagerness to get stuck in to Murdok led to some poor decision making. He decided to head off in the runway and egged on by the crowd tried taking on both Murdok and Grovel at once. Murdok resorts to skullduggery and smashes Max in the gut with some kind of sceptre. Grovel then pounces on Max and starts kicking and biting away. Its all before the bell and is allowed to happen. Finally Murdok shows his control over Grovel as he gives an unpronounceable command and it backs off. Murdok now drags Max into the ring and the announcer can finally finish the introductions allowing the match to start. We now get several minutes of relentless Murdok offence. Uses Head Spear Takedown several times which given its add 1 mechanic pushes Max’s pin rating to dangerously high levels. It means when POWER OF THE PLAGUE comes everyone feared the worst despite its low +1 impact. There was an incredible cheer as Max kicks out. The fans dare to believe he might be able to turn it around now. Max bails out the ring briefly to try and recover only to wish he hadn’t. One excited fan sounds a klaxon right behind Max which almost deafens him. As Max clasps his ears Murdok reaches through the ropes and pulls him in for more punishment. Within moments he almost puts Max through the mat after a Murdok Power Bomb. Max’s whole body was stunned and Murdok casually pins him. Sudden silence from the crowd. Murdok stands up and shows no emotion. Grovel recognises what has happened and helps itself to the Heavyweight belt before obediently delivering it to Murdok. It doesn’t take long for ROC to react what has happened. Corporal Aegis vows they will be going all out to win the belt back “this is bad, Murdok is still living in the past and thinking that he can rule. Now armed with the belt he will feel nothing can stop him and his desire to rule could go beyond the boundaries of the GWF. It is our duty to stop him”. Aegis means well with such comments but probably many people didn’t need to hear this. Interplanetary champ, Euritar, squashed Wraith. Euritar is getting confused by the mixed signals he is getting from Cordanus. Is he a member of Takeover or the Great Comeback? Apparently it’s still both. Although one night to the next he doesn’t know if Cordanus will be his manager or if it’ll be Reynard B. Guile. Tonight it is Cordanus. Probably because he can play no part in the main event later and is at a loose end. Plus Cordanus is more influential than B. Guile is and can better protect the belt. Not that he ever needed to get his hands dirty because Euritar was absolutely outstanding and has this won in the blink of an eye. He almost got it done in mere seconds as the first move of the match was a whip into the ropes from Wraith. Euritar rebounded with a sunset flip and was just one number away from one of the fastest victories ever. Didn’t matter though as Euritar kept right on Wraith. He’d decided he wasn’t going to let Wraith get any distance between him and make the translucency more effective. Within four more moves he used HEADS WILL ROLL and got the pin. Doomsayer did try a distraction although nothing too major as he doesn’t want to be on the bad side of Cordanus. It was yet another impressive showing from Euritar and just further backs up that he could become one of the biggest stars of the future. Amazonia beats Supernova in a long match to win the ladies belt. A chance to make history for Amazonia by winning the ladies belt for a tenth time. Supernova is determined to stop her. They share a respect but have never been that close even when on the same groups. An entertaining seesaw battle threatens to get ruined as Sir Ender strides out. It’s part of his ‘saving damsels in distress’ act. He proclaims he is here to be the protector of Supernova as he knows Amazonia is just a barbaric woman who uses shields and swords to get her own way. Amazonia looks at Supernova accusingly who just shrugs. Then they seem to give each other a knowing nod and fast as lightening leave the ring to deal with him. Sir Ender doesn’t know who to face as they close in “now look her ladies, keep things under control, any violence wouldn’t be very ladylike”. Supernova manages to distract him to face her. Meanwhile Amazonia grabs her sword and gently prods Sir Ender’s buttocks with its sharp end. He jumps several feet in the air and realising his peril decides to leave quickly. The sight of him heading down the runway clutching his bottom and shouting some garbled message is deeply amusing. Supernova and Amazonia high five on sending him packing and then realise they better get back in that ring before they are both counted-out. They then carry on grappling as if nothing had happened. It’s a long battle worthy of any supercard. Amazonia was the one doing most of the damage. Although Supernova always looked dangerous. They kept it civil for the most part apart from once when Amazonia resorted to THE WARRIOR’S SHIELD. Her reluctance to cover Supernova after using it suggested she regretted such an act immediately. Anyway the match continued long after this incident. Eventually someone had to win and it was Amazonia after her third RUNNING SABRE of the match. It was a special and historic moment. Supernova later showed her class by saying “congratulations to Amazonia for the achievement, she deserved it. The better gal definitely won tonight”. Draconian Sheik defeated Splatter in a bloody Hitman match. Been a while since one of these have been booked. Could become a more common thing though what with the prevalent role of the Hitmen this year. There was supposedly nothing in the bag other than shredded paper. Just suited the situation as Drac was Splatter’s latest lottery winner. Neither held back in what was a bloody battle and might well be the match of the night. Splatter stood up to Drac’s ferocious offence and should probably of won after smashing him twice with MEET ARSENAL. Drac’s pain receptors are just different to other wrestlers and you’ve pretty much got to knock him out to keep him down which Splatter failed to do. Of course the match would swing again and the damage Drac had dished out much earlier started to take a toll on Splatter. After a SADISTIC HAMMERLOCK he looked done for. Drac lacked the intelligence to get the bag until Lorelei bravely raced out with a step ladder and pointed up at it. Drac after some cajoling stood it up next to the pole and managed to grab the bag before he toppled. Upon ripping it apart the bag was in fact not empty as poisoned pellets are contained within. Much like the ones the Hitmen are apparently using. Drac doesn’t make the connection. Why would he? But it’s pretty obvious he is on their hit list as well as the Avenging Warriors team. Lorelei knew this wasn’t a good sign and manages to convince Drac to leave with her before Splatter recovered or any of the Hitmen could show up.
Archon and Vyper link up to beat Unspeakable Horror in a Hardcore Titan Death match. Archon still cannot get away from the temptation to face old enemies despite now being an FDF member. It made sense as Vyper needed a partner what with Draconian Sheik booked to wrestle Splatter. Commando Sam likes Lorelei’s style so gave his blessing to the union. Blazing Skull loves the prospect of facing Archon again and vows to remind him what it’s like to be met with a face full of fire. He didn’t get the chance though as it was Archon who was the one on fire tonight. Vyper had struggled in the early part and was victim of Anarchy taking things extreme (even by his own standards). He got smashed with a Lepus Stun Rod that was found lying around several times and also got the full force of Anarchy coming down on him whilst he was laying on a table that had been brought into the ring. Luckily Vyper stayed in it and got a defensive tag which changed the match. Archon really rolled his sleeves up and was more than capable of mixing it up hardcore. He had most of his success against Anarchy and got on a run with his finishers. As we all know once he reaches L3O he can be very hard to stop and so it proved. He was able to defeat Anarchy with THE RIOT ACT and Vyper, despite all his earlier punishment, was able to find the energy to stop Blazing Skull from saving Anarchy. Genocide and Grovel edged Corporal Aegis and Rising Sun. This needed some last minute tweaking as Genocide and Murdok were due to team up. Murdok’s rise to the top contender spot meant he now had a date with Max Shield. For this match Rising Sun becomes an honorary ROC member for the night. He actually said “Lord Nexus is more interested in pushing Scion at the moment so I had to do something” only to later backtrack and claim he was misquoted 🤷♂️. Whatever the reason Corporal Aegis was glad to have him on board. There were immediate fireworks on the other side. Murdok has constantly reminded Genocide that if he wants to be part of Murdok’s World he must be loyal and respect the other team members who are pure Centrans. That loyalty is immediately tested by Genocide almost sending Grovel flying as he rampaged into the ring and set about shaking the ropes almost out of their sockets. Genocide warns Grovel “keep out my way, I can’t be responsible for my actions”. Not sure Grovel understood and it looked like it was considering attacking Genocide. Aegis tries to take advantage of the momentary stand off by attacking them. He inadvertently brings them together as they fightback with a brutal double team. That brings Rising Sun into it and the match begins with one big four man brawl. Eventually it settled down and Genocide was hogging the action for his team. Finally the heroic duo got a foothold as Grovel got some time. However they struggled to hurt it and missed their best chance of winning as Genocide inevitably came back into the ring. Corporal Aegis did actually come close to upsetting Genocide as got enough momentum to launch into his Opening Salvo. Expectant fans were left disappointed as Genocide fell out of the ring as a result. The two heroes never threatened again. Genocide recovered and picked them off before cannoning into Rising with CORPUS GENOCIDE to win. After delivering such a significant win Genocide may now of earned the trust of Murdok. Code Enforcer blows Maelstrom away. First of the heavy hitters are out. Maelstrom’s hatred of humans is more intense than ever and he’s definitely Mangus’s main man. He has been waiting for this moment but suddenly hesitates when he sees the hulking Code Enforcer waiting for him. Was doubt creeping into his mind? How on Cygnus (see what I did there) was he going to successfully brand this guy? Many times before he had US. Traitor to assist him. It didn’t even become a factor though because to brand anyone Maelstrom has got to beat them first. He came nowhere near doing that as he was just mown down immediately by the Code Enforcer. Match barely ticked past a couple of minutes when the Code Enforcer uses CODE CROWBAR to get the victory. Commando Sam taunts Mangus over the easiness. Of course more clashes will come but this could be a one-sided feud based on this. Titan Honor impressively handled the Ninja Assassins. Ursa Major has proven what an expert tag partner he is to move so seamlessly between the two tag teams of Titan Attack and Titan Honor. Of course Titan Honor is still a work in progress but they have started life as a team pretty well and add another victory here. Early offence from the Ninjas is snuffed out and the Titans give Hydrax a real tough time. Blade can’t quite get him pinned after BLADE OF RETRIBUTION so hands off to Ursa Major. The experience of Ursa Major sees him maintain dominance and after a few more minutes uses TITAN VICTORY ROLL to close it out. There is a lot of promise for this team and Blade looks so happy in his post match interview “I love being a Titan. Lord Nexus is one of the greatest guys ever. He is a warts and all kind of guy and has so much time for everyone. I hope I can repay his kindness by helping to deliver the tag titles”. Mike Fortune deals Scion Nexus a defeat. It’s a shame the Cruiserweight belt was abolished a few years ago but Scion thinks he can maybe push for the IP belt and then after that who knows. He’s been 💯 since dedicating himself to singles and looked a good bet to continue that here as he started well. However Fortune managed to ride out the early offensive wave. Then launched a comeback. Looking really hungry for the win. He repeatedly used THE HANGMAN on Scion. Four or five times, I lost count. Eventually it paid off for him. The Soulwatcher beats Dreadnaught easily. Dreadnaught keeps on ticking. Often playing the role of a curtain jerker as he is tonight. At least he’s still getting booked. His time in the ring is short though as the Soulwatcher needs around a minute to win via THE REVELATION. Sadly it’s not an uncommon sight to see Dreadnaught needing a great deal assistance afterwards.
