Card 61 – Deer Lakes High School:
US. champ, Gorgeous George, loses to Johnny Valentine again by DQ. More demeaning duties for Brutus to start things off. Poor guy has got 4 more cards of this. He is ordered by George to clean the ring canvas with a wet rag whilst dressed in a loincloth. Officials insist Brutus dress more respectably and George calls them killjoys. When the referee threatens George with expulsion and possible forfeit over his treatment he realises he is walking a tightrope. Now demands Brutus put on a robe before carrying on with his duties. Johnny Valentine is just leaned against the ropes watching this pantomime go on. He doesn’t look impressed. After several minutes more cavorting the two wrestlers finally lock up. Johnny starts fast and hits ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER in the first minute but it’s too early. Anyone thinking this will be the pattern of the match is mistaken. George hasn’t had such a long reign with the belt for nothing. He comes back into it. Even Brutus is playing ball by providing the distractions that Cherie Dupre would normally do. He ends up becoming a very pivotal figure. The match is over 10 minutes old and very even when Johnny gets some solid momentum and goes for a pin. Brutus runs in and clotheslines Johnny down. George then scrambles and executes SPINNING TOE HOLD. The bell goes and George thinks he has got it won and starts celebrating. His mood changes when the ref yanks his arm down and holds up Johnny’s. The verdict was a disqualification. George is incensed but at least he has still got the belt. Leaves a conundrum for the LWF championship committee. Do they give Johnny another shot at the belt? He has had two attempts and failed to get the belt. Although the fact he won both matches by DQ does give him a possible case. But would Johnny be that bothered? His eyes are on the bigger prize.
Midnight Express finally get the better of the Grapplers in a cage match. This has been an unexpected feud but we finally get the blow off to it. Cage match booked as it is the only sure way to settle it. The Grapplers struggle at first as the Midnight’s flout the rules at every opportunity. With no DQ to worry about they indulge in incessant double teaming. Hutton is heard to shout out to Gotch “looks like we need to play them at their own game and get dirty”. A pulsating contest plays itself from that point on. The momentum swinging back and forth with a great finishing sequence. Lane is being pitched from cage side to cage side by Hutton but somehow surprises with a sunset flip despite being all bloodied. With a ref inside the cage to count any falls Gotch moves in to try and break the pin as he can see Hutton winded himself being flipped over like that. The ref wanting to keep some kind of order ushers him away. This allows the Midnights to blast Hutton with an awesome double vertical suplex which makes the whole cage shudder. Lane covers again and Gotch is powerless to save his partner. Match must of struck a note with many of the fans watching. Lots of discussion about it online. A few quotes … Nick from Pittsburgh posted “That was incredible. You got to hand it to the Midnights, they knew how to win” … Carlos in El Paso isn’t quite so complimentary “Those cheating scumbags. The LWF should force a rematch and get a stronger ref in the cage with them”.
Ted DiBiase beats Virgil after putting his lights out. Some feuds don’t die. This will always be a rivalry no matter what either is up to. DiBiase treating everyone in a condascending manner right down to the guys backstage. Many of them want to punch him out but some bow to his exorbitant demands when dollar bills are waved in front of them. The result is both DiBiase and Cornette getting carried to the ring on an expensive sofa by several arena workers. Virgil rages when he sees this and darts up the runway ahead of his announcement. Pushes the sofa with all his might sending both DiBiase and Cornette flying. Before DiBiase knows what’s going on his expensive suit also gets torn off. It is left in tatters. Virgil means business. For large parts of the match DiBiase is scrambling and Cornette outside looks worried. Sadly Virgil cannot see it through. His offence just not potent enough. DiBiase manages to ride out the storm and then hits a backward elbow off the middle rope. Then immediately slaps on MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER to triumph. In a final degrading act DiBiase looks down at the snoozing Virgil and spits on him.
Iron Sheik beats King Kong Bundy again. No way Bundy can continue in his ‘face’ role much longer. When interviewer asks him about his role in the Orphanage it is like a red rag to a bull. Bundy angrily punches the wall and stomps off pushing over lockers and anything else in his path. Bundy may have been fired up but Iron Sheik was still the the hot favourite to win having already beaten him in the CAC cage bracket and riding a 4 match winning streak. Another win could even bring a shot at the Heavyweight belt Iron Sheik’s way. Although that would only be considered if Bobo Brazil is still the champ. Anyway onto the match. Iron Sheik almost has it won in about two moves. Bundy cannot get near him at first. Somehow he comes through that opening salvo and makes a fight of it but a second wave from Iron Sheik ends with CAMEL CLUTCH. Another defeat for Bundy. Everyone scratching their heads over Bundy. Despite his ferocious demeanour and imposing size he has a terrible record in the LWF.
Valiant Brothers beat Air Assault by DQ. The Valiants have been frustrated in the LWF. Success starved and in danger of becoming a forgotten team. Bobby Heenan has promised to transform their fortunes but not much has happened for them so far under his tutelage. At least they muster a win here. An uninspiring match comes to its conclusion as Johnny nails Snuka with TOP ROPE ELBOW. Red Bastien tried a pin save to which Heenan was so vociferous in his complaints that the young inexperienced ref buckled and called the disqualification.
Mil Mascaras pinned Sabu. Both natural high fliers. Lots of daredevil moves. It’s rare these days to see Sabu without the Sandman but a chance to stretch his legs in singles wasn’t about to be passed up. Turning point comes when Sabu misses TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT. Mil Mascaras pounces on the error. Delivering a flurry of level 3 moves before using FLYING BODYPRESS to end it.

Thanks mate. I'm really enjoying playing legends. I've always been more into the COTG-side of the game and my knowledge of many legends guys isn't too great but I love collecting the cards and trying my best with them. I mainly play online to run the matches and these are all based off black and white cards. I reckon it'll take me around +100 cards to make the entire transition to colour. I plan to intro most wrestlers slowly in set order. I'll get there one day!

Also, myself and several other folks here on the boards, are putting together a quarterly PDF cards (sort of like PP) that will - at least tentatively - include four cards per quarter starting in Early to Mid July. The first four are pretty awesome, so keep an eye out for it.

That sounds awesome. Will be all over that for sure. I'm slowly building a nice little pdf bootleg library on my google drive. Always looking to build on it. The work that goes into these card stats and the art is incredible. Not to mention construction of the templates. I wish I was that creative. My hat is off to all you guys

Card 62 – Deer Lakes High School:
Mil Mascaras dazzles against Ted DiBiase. After Virgil’s miserable failure against DiBiase his mate, Mil Mascaras, picks up the baton. He explodes out the blocks. The first couple of minutes are very unpleasant for DiBiase but he just about gets through it. When Mascaras goes to the top rope DiBiase has just enough senses to clamber over and throw him down. He adjusts his wrestling trunks, slows things right down and starts to unload. He even tosses Mascaras outside and then distracts the ref so Jim Cornette can take a swing with his racket. Back in the ring Mascaras then gets the MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER treatment. Just when it looks like the lights might go out Mascaras manages to get close to a corner and push off with his legs. It breaks the hold but the poor ref didn’t see what was coming and got taken out. In a dramatic spot DiBiase starts slapping the ref to revive him. He’s still got the momentum and doesn’t want to lose it. As he does this Mascaras recovers himself and comes up behind with a roll up for a near pin. It’s at this point Jim Cornette loses his rag and starts screaming that Mascaras be disqualified for assaulting the ref but his plea goes unheard. Perhaps needing to keep his eye on the match as he misses a distraction opportunity and DiBiase nearly gets beat with octopus hold and CROSSBODY ATTACK in two successive moves. DiBiase is now at 6 tokens but somehow still alive in the match. Cornette now decides to try and get DIBiase disqualified by throwing in his tennis racket. Better that than take a pin loss. Trouble is DiBiase doesn’t really know where he is and completely misses the catch. Instead it strikes him in the face. As DiBiase stands wobbling and ready to collapse Mascaras leaps at him and finishes him off with FLYING BODYPRESS. Great win that he had to work real hard for.
Bruiser Brody rips apart Chris Candido. Big debut for Brody. Fans keen to see what antics this hardcore icon would get up to. His first opponent is Chris Candido. The match appealing to Candido’s hardcore instincts. Tammy Sytch takes a backseat and watches the match from the safety of the locker rooms. Given Brody’s unpredictable nature it is considered too dangerous and Candido wants to keep her looking gorgeous. Brody certainly catches everyone’s attention. Heading straight into the ring and slamming his head against the turnbuckles to show how tough he is whilst shouting “HUSS, HUSS, HUSS”. Even Candido is unsure what to make of it and takes a step back. Eventually Candido decides he better engage this guy but gets forcefully tossed aside. So he then decides to start running the ropes and build up momentum for a big clothesline. But that doesn’t work as Brody does the same and they end up criss crossing until the inevitable mid-ring collision happens. Both are down and that’s when the bell sounds to officially signify the start. Ref lays on a count but it doesn’t last long as Brody is on his feet first. Candido is still woozy after that clash of heads and never ever really gets it together again. Brody swats away his weak attacks and punishes him. Doesn’t last all that long with Brody executing an impressive one hand body slam and then placing a foot across Candido’s throat for the pin. It doesn’t end there as Brody then stomps every limb on his beaten opponent before finishing on the face. Message delivered Brody then leaves whilst babbling incoherently with only the odd vulgar word audible.
Johnny Valentine crushed Brutus. Johnny is angry with Brutus for blowing his chance to win the US. Belt on the last show. That’s the backstory for this match. He doesn’t care that Brutus had no choice as it’s all part of his slavery punishment to assist Gorgeous George. Anyway Johnny fights with his usual intensity. Brutus barely gets a sniff as it’s pretty much one way traffic. Only good thing he can take out of it was an impressive resilience to stand up to the pummeling he took. Brutus was up to 5 fatigue tokens by the time Johnny tried something different and went with a forearm hammer. This was the final nail in the coffin for Brutus.
The Grapplers defeated the Vachons in a close match. The Vachons closing in on their big title shot. Butcher brags “this match will give Team Extreme a little preview of what we are gonna to do them”. The words come back to bite him. No way the Grapplers were going to be a walkover although initially, for some reason, they are not clicking. It’s all the Vachons. Just a case of digging in for the Grapplers until they find some rhythm. It finally starts to happen. Hutton leading the fightback and coming close with his painful ABDOMINAL STRETCH. The hand off to Gotch is a successful one. Although he still takes some heavy bombardment at times he has the ring savvy to wear Butcher Vachon down and gets him with GOTCH TOEHOLD. The angry Vachons leave the match surprisingly quietly. The worrying thing is Butcher Vachon is limping. He’s got just two cards to shake that off.
The Destroyer grabs a win over Ox Baker via DQ. Did well to come out on top having earlier been winded by Baker’s HEART PUNCH. In the end Baker goes outside the ring and causes some random ringside devastation to lose the match. Probably his way of airing frustration.
Masked Superstar beat Jimmy Snuka by DQ to win his first match. A forgettable opener. Not one of Snuka’s better efforts. Got sucked into too much outside brawling.

Card 63 – Denver Coliseum:
Frank Gotch defeated George Hackenschmidt in a submission match. It is another absolute classic between these two where the highlights get played out many times in the wrestling media. Counter after counter move very much the theme. 10 tokens between them at the end (Gotch 3, Hackenschmidt 7). Clearly Gotch wants to even up the score after losing the last meeting and started brilliantly. Took Hackenschmidt several minutes to muster any kind of offence and during this dodgy period he just flat out refuses to give in to anything. Of course nobody is going to keep a guy like Hackenschmidt quiet for an entire match and he has a solid run of offence after a while. Gotch doing well to force a break when locked in RUSSIAN BEAR HUG. After that it’s anybody’s match as they trade moves. It was actually a questionable finish in the end as Gotch used a guillotine choke. He then kept the choke hold locked in and Hackenschmidt struggling for air tapped out. The commentary team wasn’t sure that the move would count as a valid submission move. However after a couple minutes delay the announcement goes out and Gotch is proclaimed the winner. There is no bad feeling from Hackenschmidt. He is still coughing and spluttering but in a show of sportsmanship offers Gotch a handshake. Maybe a slightly frosty one but the gesture was there for all to see. Amazingly during this entire match up Gotch didn’t attempt the GOTCH TOEHOLD once.
Valiant Brothers hand the Killer Bees another defeat. Jimmy catching Jim Brunzell after an atomic drop. The Bees had earlier tried and failed to create MASKED CONFUSION by switching but Bobby Heenan saw and grassed them up. The Valiants were then able to go on and win. Post match drama as the ref gets the hairdryer treatment from Heenan failing to rule a DQ earlier when the switch was attempted and nearly costing his team the match. In an entertaining moment Heenan and the ref start grappling. Heenan’s past ring experience allows him to floor the ref with a leg takedown. Suddenly the blood drains from Heenan’s face as the disciplinary ramifications could come back to haunt it. It’s an afterthought but he helps the ref up and dusts him down before clasping his hands and begging that no complaint against him is filed (LWF can only take action if they receive an official’s report). Maybe the ref will let this go as Heenan then gets his comeuppance as Lou Albano distracts him and the Killer Bees waltz over and perform a double dropkick. Heenan flies clumsily over the top rope and hits the floor hard. He walks off clutching the back of his neck. Despite this crowd pleasing turn of events things are not going well for the Bees. They are in a major slump.
Buff Bagwell keeps on the rise against Jim Duggan. Bagwell wants a decent challenge and bragged last week “I am still unbeaten. Is there anyone that can beat me?” He is conveniently forgetting his CAC loss as that was in a cage and doesn’t count in his books. But with a 4-1 record he is certainly doing well. Duggan thinks he meets the criteria and takes up the challenge to which Bagwell, flanked by Bobby Heenan, went on air to accept whilst arrogantly yawning. Both managers accompany their guys on what will be a busy night for both Heenan and Albano. Though they don’t end up doing too much meddling as they prefer to trash talk with each other. Crowd is hot for Duggan who is his usual patriotic self proudly waving the US. Flag with the thumbs up to the crowd. Like mentioned earlier Albano is staying hands off. He thinks Duggan’s experience willy carry him over the line. Unfortunately he is gravely mistaken. Bagwell has bags of talent and uses his BUFF BLOCKBUSTER (second attempt) to down Duggan.
The Sheik terrorises Koko B. Ware. Koko needs to tread carefully. He doesn’t want Frankie getting barbecued by a fireball. As the Sheik approaches Frankie sat on its perch Koko points a finger at the Sheik to stop him but ends up getting it bitten. Koko’s screams distract the Sheik from Frankie and the match is on. Koko puts the throbbing finger to the back of his mind and rocks the crazed Sheik with some acrobatic high flying moves. But all it is doing is delaying the inevitable. The Sheik is eventually able to close in and CAMEL CLUTCH brings about the submission. He keeps it held after the tap out for good measure. Poor Koko may of got away with being roasted but still has a very sore back for his troubles. He perks up in the post match interview saying “it didn’t go my way tonight but next week on LEGENDS LIVE I am teaming with my good pal King Kong Bundy. We will make a great tag team. Could be the start of something special”.
Cowboy Bob Orton barely breaks a sweat against Virgil. Orton’s crushing loss to Bobo Brazil a few cards back did him a lot of damage. The rebuild process starts here with what he calls an easy match against Virgil. Naturally Virgil doesn’t like hearing that and hopes to give him a rude shock. But having lost his last 5 singles matches it would take a brave man to bet on anything other than an Orton victory. Especially with Jim Cornette in his corner too. And so it proves. Orton nearly won it in just two moves. Instead it takes a little longer but a cover following a painful atomic kneedrop yields the three count. Orton wins back a little respect. He was pretty fired up and it would of taken a lot for anyone to of beaten him tonight.
Jimmy Snuka pins Masked Superstar. Rematch booked after the previous unsatisfactory outcome. Snuka clattered whilst adjusting his knee pads. Masked Superstar real aggressive at the start but fades. Snuka spends a lot of time working up to SUPERFLY LEAP. When it comes it’s not his cleanest impact but at +2 it’s just enough.

Card 64 – LEGENDS LIVE – Denver Coliseum:
Heavyweight champ, Bobo Brazil, fends off the challenge of Harley Race with a DQ win. Bobo may be out of the CAC-Headliner feud but he cannot shake off the attentions of Race. It will be ominous if Race can get the main belt into his team. They met for the title as recently as #48. Bobo won that night and will hope to draw inspiration from that. However Race has been in hot form ever since then. A couple of guys sweating on the outcome were Iron Sheik and Johnny Valentine. Depending on who won would decide the next challenger. Bobo is his usual determined self and Race struggles to get to grips with him in the early part. It takes a big effort from Race to build some offence. He thinks he has turned it around and tries to use the turnbuckle to set up a collision but it goes wrong and he ends up in a heap on the concrete outside the ring. When Bobo comes out after him Race feels the pressure and slams him into a table causing it to collapse. The act blows his big chance. Race rages when he hears the DQ announcement and grabs the scrawny ref by the throat demanding the decision is reversed. Bobo is the saviour driving a knee into Race’s back and sending him once more out onto the floor. Race tries to get back in but Bobo has the high ground and keeps treading on his fingers or kicking him back. In the end Race has to give up. He is heckled by the crowd as he leaves and turns over any ringside props in his path.
Little note is I had a first ever roll on the ‘Gang Interference’ chart on standby. At this point I have never used it so far in LOW or COTG. Race’s desperation to get the belt into the Headliners driving it. It’s not a habit I will get into rolling. Only special circumstances. Choosing the right moment to do it was tough as Bobo’s finisher isn’t exactly a blockbuster and a low dice roll could easily trip Race’s plans up. In the end it becomes a disappointing non-issue. Although Bobo was the slightly better wrestler Race was on offence. He tossed Bobo to the turnbuckle and tried to follow up with a body smash. Bobo got out the way and Race spectacularly went right over and to the outside. The dice intervened with plans as Bobo tries to bring the action back in the ring but gets slammed into a table and a DQ decision interrupts those best laid plans. Oh well, will keep the Headliner gang attack on ice for now. They are sure to be lurking around for any future title matches.
The Vachons hunt down Team Extreme to take possession of the tag belts. Medics on standby. All the ingredients for a bloodbath as the Vachons go on the prowl for the belts. They are right on it from the get go. Barely giving Team Extreme any chance to settle. The Sandman gets savaged by the Mad Dog Pounce several times. He just about survives the onslaught and comes back with HARDCORE DDT but nothing doing. With blood dripping he makes what we all thought would be a hot tag but Sabu’s offence is surprisingly toothless tonight. The Vachons are all over him like a pack of dogs with Mad Dog Vachon finally ending his misery with PILEDRIVER. The belts move onto the Vachons a mere 3 months after their arrival in the LWF. A very rapid rise to the top of the tree.
Gorgeous George crushed Antonio Inoki in a non-title match. George wins with surprising ease after countless applications of SPINNING TOE HOLD. It’s either submit or suffer a broken foot for Inoki. Brutus was in his last slave match. He did his duty but as soon as it’s over grabs George’s robe and rips it in two. Things then go from bad to worse for George. With the element of surprise on his side Brutus then throws George to the outside and plants his face straight into a dirty bucket of bloody water. This had been used to mop up some blood spilt earlier when Bundy battered Koko. The cheer for this is deafening. Brutus is a free man!
Finisher match, George Hackenschmidt wins against Frank Gotch. The fans cannot get enough of their mastery of mat wrestling. At one win apiece this is considered the decider and will be the blow off to the little internal rivalry. Takes a while to reach its conclusion but that’s no problem as the wrestling is so good. Hackenschmidt has the slight advantage as RUSSIAN BEAR HUG is easier and quicker to apply than the GOTCH TOEHOLD. He manages to clamp on with it several times. With his powerful arms the crushing feeling subjected to any opponent is tough to take especially when done more than once. So it proves to be as Gotch wilts in it’s grip and loses their mini-series. It is certainly a feather in the cap of Hackenschmidt as Gotch is considered one of the top wrestlers within the LWF.
Nick Bockwinkel back on winning trail over Masked Superstar via DQ. Bockwinkel sliding down the card a little in lieu of recent form. He maybe leader of the CAC but his heelish traits are still very present. Bending rules left, right and centre. Maybe it’s fuelled by a desperation to register a win and bring credibility to his leadership. Becomes a pretty short battle. Action spilling outside. Bockwinkel tries to get Masked Superstar’s mask off to reveal his true identity. This prompts Masked Superstar to grab a chair and drive it into Bockwinkel’s gut to stop that happening. Of course that brings things to an abrupt end. After being given some space to recover Bockwinkel is summoned for a post match analysis. When asked about some of his tactics had this to say “I admit this was not a good version of me tonight but sometimes you have to do what’s necessary to win. It is not a style I will adopt all the time but I have to thank my old friend Bobby Heenan for giving me some tips”. Is there any significance in that comment for the future?
Iron Sheik beats Jim Duggan in a squash. Old feuds always simmer in the background as Duggan and Iron Sheik renew acquaintances. Expected to be intense but becomes an embarrassing disaster for Duggan. Over in just 3 moves. Duggan turned his back to give the crowd a big “HYOOOOOO” which allows Iron Sheik to catch him cold from behind. Deals a hip toss, throat chop and finally a sidewinder suplex. Goes for a cover and it’s over. Lou Albano looking shocked at ringside and clutching at straws to explain that. Also to add that a roll of doubles necessitated a referral to the feud chart. The explanation required an ally to assist in a post match beatdown and muscle in on the feud but Iron Sheik has no allies. So instead Iron Sheik partakes in the humiliation gesture of draping the Iranian flag over Duggan. Lou Albano tries to stop him but is kicked away by the loaded boot. After he leaves Duggan recovers and rips the flag into a million pieces. Next move is to snatch the mic from the announcer’s grasp and challenge for a rematch inside a steel cage.
Bruiser Brody wins a thriller against Mil Mascaras. First big test for Brody. His odd antics on display again as he tries to remove all the turnbuckles and expose the steel to make the match hardcore. That causes a delay as officials repair them. Brody is agitated and has to be forced back by an official holding a weapon. He holds up a pitch fork as that’s all he could find. Some kind of order restored and a really decent contest unravels. Mil Mascaras is greatly assisted by his phenomenal agility and gets a cover with a slingshot plancha in only second move. He keeps it up the fast hit and move pace but with each passing minute that he cannot finish it Brody grows stronger. When he gets the upper hand and hits JUMPING KNEE DROP their looked like only one winner even though Mascaras wriggled out. A second one a minute later spelt the end. Luckily Mil Mascaras recovers fast enough to slide out the ring before Brody can do anything nasty to him.
Koko B. Ware and King Kong Bundy flatten the Killer Bees. This was supposed to be a good natured contest between two face teams. However things go horribly wrong. With Koko providing the speed and Bundy the power they were quite effective as a team. Things going swimmingly until Bundy attacks Koko afterwards as he celebrated their win. Bundy had just crushed Jim Brunzell for a second time with AVALANCHE to win. The first attempt saw Brunzell kick out at the last moment of the obligatory five-count but no way he was getting up when caught again. Koko goes to sportingly help Brunzell up and then does his birdman dance. Bundy looks over and then charges crushing him into a turnbuckle. As Koko falls backwards to the mat Bundy comes down on him with a splash and starts gouging at his forehead with a suspected blade. The Killer Bees spring into action and pull Bundy off with great difficulty before thrown violently away. Bundy leaves to a cacophony of crowd abuse. The Bees tend to Koko. Without him it could have been worse but a lot of damage is done. Koko is bleeding heavily and barely moving. He has to be carted away on a stretcher. Captain Lou Albano makes sure his parrot, Frankie, isn’t forgotten and obediently places him onto his shoulder and follows behind the stricken Koko. A very unpleasant start and worries about Koko’s condition will linger throughout the rest of the show.

LWF REPORT (CARDS 61 TO 64)
Champions
LWF Heavyweight Champ: Bobo Brazil Top Contender: Iron Sheik
LWF Tag Team Champs: The Vachons Top Contenders: Valiant Brothers
LWF US. Champ: Gorgeous George Top Contender: Mil Mascaras
Latest News:
Rumours are that the Road Warriors are preparing a comeback after almost a year away to shut the mouths of the Midnight Express who keep bragging they ran them out of the fed. If they do return it looks like they will be bringing the old manager ‘Precious’ Paul Ellering with them and looking to reform the Legion of Doom. Don’t laugh but Virgil wants to become a member of the team as it will lead him into direct confrontation with Ted DiBiase.
The Destroyer wants to join the CAC. Nick Bockwinkel has said there aren’t available spots on the team. The Destroyer was frustrated and said if he can beat one of the existing members cleanly can he join then? Bockwinkel asked his team mates and Red Bastien agreed to face the Destroyer but with the added stipulation that if he loses then he must leave the LWF for at least a year. Just to make things interesting. Bockwinkel is also facing lots of questions about his leadership suitability and whether he can take the pressure. His short response is “nobody puts more pressure on me than myself but I can cope with it. I would never challenge Bobo whilst he is the holder of Heavyweight belt but when he drops it I will be first in line for it. Once I win the title it will be the proof everyone needs”
Greg Valentine is back after serving out his suspension and will be in action on #66. In an incredible situation he and his father have made up during his time away. After their initial embrace at the CAULIFLOWER ALLEY CUP Johnny Valentine has continued to welcome his son back into the fold with open arms. Johnny famously says “Life is good again. Every time I wrestled him it was like a dagger to the heart. Our bond from now on will be unbreakable”.
Giant Baba is also back for a couple of cards and wants to team with Antonio Inoki again in a team called ‘Sushi Surprise’. When asked by Bill Apter about the team name Baba said in broken English “so what if the name’s corny, it’s nice to have fun”.
The Heenan Family and Albano’s All Americans are switching feuds as the two managers aim to prove who the most effective manager is. It will be an interesting switch up. Actually Heenan is getting a bit hot under the collar at rumours the Valiants are unimpressed with his management. He seems more focused on Buff Bagwell and Gorgeous George. The last thing he wants is the embarrassment of being fired by them. The fact the Valiants were able to defeat the Killer Bees and Air Assault recently with Heenan taking some bumps along the way might of bought him some more time. In fact in a big surprise literally just announced during airing of this news reel the Valiants have been named #1 contenders to the tag belts. Other teams have faltered and given them this unlikely opportunity.
The Orphanage is in ruins. King Kong Bundy got fed up and attacked Koko B. Ware in a match. Discouraged by events wrestlers from both the Dog Pound and Orphanage have found new teams only leaving Bundy and Koko (who are now feuding) behind. Koko, Bundy and anyone else without a team are being labelled as an independent clan.
Another newcomer to the LWF is Justin Credible and he has immediately declared an intention to align himself with Team Extreme. With the formation of the Odd Squad by the Vachons there could be a spawning rivalry between the two teams to see which is the toughest. Especially as the Vachons upset Team Extreme by relieving them of the tag straps.
