LWF REPORT (CARDS 1 TO 8)

LWF Tag Team Champs: Road Warriors Top Contenders: The Valentines
Latest News:
Bobo Brazil has dominated all the headlines by capturing the Heavyweight belt in fantastic style. He used his COCO BUTT move to great effect to finish off most opponents. His first test will be against the Destroyer.
Despite coming second in his group the Destroyer had to pull out of the knockout round with personal issues that led to a points deduction. He returned on the following card to beat Bobo in a non-title match and become the undisputed top contender to the belt.
Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel are feuding. They had a heated row after a disastrous tag team link up and are now vowing to prove who is superior. Harley Race’s bragging hasn’t been backed up but what was a disastrous tournament as he bombed out in the group.
Another rivalry is between Killer Kowalski and King Kong Bundy. The animosity started when Kowalski made Bundy submit in their match and accused Bundy of being weak and too quick to tap out to submission holds. He then attacked King Kong Bundy in a bar after a wrestling card leaving Bundy requiring several stitches in a facial wound. Although not a natural face, Bundy, is enjoying having the fans behind him in a feud against the hated Kowalski.
Jimmy Snuka has also struck up a rivalry with Ted DiBiase. During a tournament tag match Snuka gave away DiBiase’s money to the crowd which riled the greedy DiBiase. As a result they have signed to face off but first DiBiase is sending Virgil into matches with Snuka in a bid to soften him up.
The Road Warriors (currently playing as faces) are looking to form the first group by recruiting Red Bastien as their singles star to form the Legion of Doom. Red Bastien has generated such huge heat from the fans and this link up will only serve to elevate his popularity further. The Road Warriors are also trying to bring their former manager Paul Ellering in to lead them but so far he has resisted their overtures to join the LWF. By way of a response Nikolai Volkoff, Iron Sheik and Nikita Breznikov are considering a three man alliance. More on this soon.
Big matches signed for LEGENDS LIVE show include; (Heavyweight Title match) Bobo Brazil defends against The Destroyer; (Tag Title match) Road Warriors in a rematch with the Valentines; (Cage match) Jimmy Snuka against Ted DiBiase; (First Blood match) Killer Kowalski against King Kong Bundy. Four more matches complete the line up.

Latest News:
The fans are getting behind Virgil in a bid to get him turn on Ted DiBiase. He has been treated like dirt by DiBiase during the matches. On LEGENDS LIVE he berated Virgil for not shaking the cage sides as Jimmy Snuka was about to finish him with the SUPERFLY LEAP. Despite the bullying and public mocking Virgil is staying very quiet at the moment. Instead he is backing DiBiase’s attempts to build up a supergroup called the ‘Million Dollar Corporation’ with the ultimate aim of controlling both of the main belts. Members include Ted DiBiase, Virgil and Harley Race. How long Harley Race is prepared to remain subservient to DiBiase remains to be seen! There are now three groups operating in the LWF with the Million Dollar Corporation joining the Legion of Doom & Nikita’s Army. There is an immediate test for Nikita’s Army with a blood feud between Giant Baba and both Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff building. Outnumbered Giant Baba has found a willing ally and friend in Bobo Brazil to help him out. The fans love it when Giant Baba & Bobo team up to form what they call a superstar tag team. Even though the team has no formal name the fans have started nicknaming them ‘The Superstars’. Another rivalry breaking out is between hardcore icon the Sandman and Gorgeous George. They cannot seem to get a clean finish to their matches. Cherie Dupre is disgusted by the Sandman’s tactics and accusing him of ruining all of George’s matches and trying to mash his ‘gorgeous’ face up. Killer Kowalski is doing some big time bragging after crushing King Kong Bundy in their feud. Poor Bundy is floundering in the LWF so far. Red Bastien has announced that although he will continue operating as part of the Legion of Doom he will also continue competing in tag action. He has changed his partner. Previously he and Jimmy Snuka teamed as Air Assault (but Snuka now wants to concentrate on singles). Now he is pairing up with the Destroyer and they will be calling themselves CAC (Cauliflower Alley Club). Before that though he will be a part of the first ever elimination match as LOD face the Million Dollar Corporation in Cleveland. The promoter from Maple Leaf Gardens is in hot water. He hiked up ticket prices for all the shows held there and then delivered a couple of shambolic cards. The fans may have to wait a while before the LWF roadshow returns there.

Latest News:
Jimmy Snuka is probably generating the biggest heat in the LWF. His reputation in cage matches is fierce and he has been delivering to death defying leaps right off the top of the cage to thrill the fans. Unfortunately the unspoken rule that faces don’t fight faces is hurting his attempts to get a title shot. How long will he put up with this? A fierce rivalry is developing between the Legion of Doom and the Million Dollar Corporation. DiBiase enraged the Road Warriors by trying to bribe officials into giving him a title match with new partner Harley Race. The attempted transaction was declared invalid after officials found out. The bigwig promoter at the centre of the scandal immediately had his licence revoked. Fate then played a part as DiBiase & Race stormed to victory against the CAC to become top contenders on their own merits. Giant Baba is returning to wrestle in Japan but will make a special return to wrestle at NIGHT OF THE LIVING LEGENDS. It is being billed as a classic ‘Battle of Giants’ as he squares off against King Kong Bundy. The event is already a hot ticket. Some of the main matches announced are; (Heavyweight Title match) Bobo Brazil defends against Frank Gotch; (Tag Title match) Road Warriors face Ted DiBiase & Harley Race; (Over Top Rope match) Giant Baba faces King Kong Bundy; (No-one allowed ringside) Virgil against Red Bastien. Latest News:
Nick Bockwinkel is doing some big time heel bragging as he looks stir things up ahead of his next match ring appearance. On virtually every LWF TV shows he has been cutting promos vowing to become the next Heavyweight champ. His form is sensational and he wants everyone to recognise he is the main man in the fed. Greg Valentine is also in the mix with a good run of singles form. Apparently tensions are building up between him and his father and he wants to strike out on his own. He faces Gorgeous George in his next match. He came close to upsetting Bobo Brazil when they met in a non-title match and could make a serious push for the gold. Promoters cannot decide who the next challenge should come from and hope matches between Bockwinkel, Valentine & George will help them decide in the lead up to the next edition of LEGENDS LIVE. Virgil finally turned against Ted DiBiase after smashing him with the tag team belt. It has turned him into the most popular guy in the fed and elevated him to star attraction status. He has now formed his own group called the Underdogs to battle with the Million Dollar Corporation. He hopes with the help of his new friends he can get revenge on DiBiase for all the years of abuse. He has even challenged DiBiase to put his custom made Million Dollar belt on the line when they face off. With the creation of this new group there are now several groups operating within the LWF and everyone is vying for position and power. The current group affiliations are LEGION OF DOOM (Road Warriors & Red Bastien); MILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION (Ted DiBiase, Harley Race & Ox Baker); NIKITA’S ARMY (Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff & Nikita Breznikov); THE UNDERDOGS (Virgil, Jimmy Snuka & King Kong Bundy). Several more groups are sure to be forming in the near future as rumours of a couple of high profile managers currently negotiating to join the fed circulate. Buddy Rose has been appearing at cards trying to sell his ‘Blow Away Diet’. This ridiculous scheme is really winding up the fans who respond by calling him ‘Chubby Rose’. Promoters have scheduled a violent barbed wire cage match (the first of it’s kind) between Killer Kowalski and the Sandman. These two guys are so hardcore and the purists are desperate to see the blood flow. The card needs to come with a PG rating!!!

Latest News:
Johnny Valentine and Greg Valentine have turned on eachother! All hell broke loose during their match with the Valiant Brothers. Both were blaming eachother constantly during the match and when Greg tossed his ailing father back into the ring it was the final straw. An argument followed by a scuffle broke out. At one point Greg had a chair held aloft ready to smash it down on his father but just about managed to restrain himself. Johnny Valentine has disowned his son and is promising to teach him a lesson in respect. He said Greg is more interested in self gain and doesn’t care about trying to make their tag team work. It’s a classic father and son battle. If Greg manages to get a shock win against Bobo Brazil on the next card they could well be feuding over something as coveted as the Heavyweight belt. Several wrestlers are recapturing their form. Since joining the Underdogs both King Kong Bundy and Jimmy Snuka have been a revelation winning key matches. They have elevated their team into a lead against the Millon Dollar Corporation despite the failings of their leader Virgil who was outclassed by Ted DiBiase at LEGENDS LIVE. Frank Gotch is also wrestling brilliantly showing no ill effects from his disappointing attempt to win the Heavyweight belt from Bobo Brazil. In fact promoters are seriously considering awarding him a rematch having won three on the spin against Red Bastien, Killer Kowalski and Buddy Rogers. A Battle Royal will be held on the next card featuring ten men with a $20,000 dollar prize attached to it. It is being promoted as Clash Of The Titans but will not be airing as a PPV. If the concept takes off it could well become a regular addition to the LWF calendar. The list of entries has been announced by the local promoter as (subject to change): Road Warrior Hawk; Ox Baker; Gorgeous George; Iron Sheik; Road Warrior Animal; The Destroyer; Harley Race; Jimmy Snuka; Killer Kowalski; Nick Bockwinkel; Additional bouts: Heavyweight title match, Bobo Brazil defends against Greg Valentine; Valiant Brothers face Virgil & King Kong Bundy; Buddy Rose battles Red Bastien; Johnny Valentine meets Buddy Rogers; Frank Gotch faces Nikita Breznikov. INJURED – The Sandman (3)

Latest News:
There is a major headlining bout coming on the next card. The LWF is making the long trip to the Budokan Hall and Giant Baba has been scheduled to wrestle. His big buddy, Bobo Brazil, will be his opponent. A villainous and arrogant group called THE HEADLINERS has formed. It is a major move as within it consists three of the best heels in the fed in Killer Kowalski, Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race. Fed up with playing second fiddle to Ted DiBiase, Harley Race walked out on the Million Dollar Corporation to join this new team. Ted DiBiase has moved quickly to recruit Greg Valentine to his team. In turn this has prompted Johnny Valentine to link up with the Underdogs replacing King Kong Bundy who wants to wrestle independently for the time being. Apparently Bundy is disillusioned in the LWF and considering moving to another territory to try and rediscover his form. For this reason he feels it best that he is not committed to a team. Nikita’s Army has disbanded as Nikita Breznikov has been released from the LWF. Officials have banned Buddy Rose from bringing his ‘Blow Away’ diet powder down to ringside. Red Bastien suffered a bad reaction to it with burning eyes. The CAULIFLOWER ALLEY CUP is up next with major bragging rights for the top performers. It’s a week-end sellout already!

Big awards have been given to Bobo Brazil and the Road Warriors as wrestler and tag team of the year. These were given out ahead of the last card – the CAC. The night became even more memorable for Bobo and the Road Warriors as they won the cage and tag CAULIFLOWER ALLEY CUPs in dominating style. Greg Valentine on the other hand was furious he was overlooked for the singles prize as reigning Heavyweight champ. Jimmy Snuka won the singles CAC tournament. Despite the big triumph Snuka has been downbeat. His victory has been criticised because he lucked in and only had to win two matches against the Sandman and Harley Race. It has cast a shadow on what should have been the biggest moment in his career.
Nikolai Volkoff and Iron Sheik have parted company. Ted DiBiase has waved big money at Volkoff to join his team. It is part of a big roster shake up with LEGENDS REMATCH. A few guys have disappeared from the LWF, some without trace. No announcements have been made but they are rumoured to be wrestling in other territories. These are Giant Baba (already left), the Destroyer, King Kong Bundy & Nikita Breznikov (who leaves with just a solitary win via a DQ decision). However several newcomers have signed with the LWF. To introduce these new guys Cleveland promoters have arranged a tournament to give the fans a glimpse of them in action. Lou Albano (All Americans) and Jim Cornette have really shaken the fed up feverishly signing wrestlers. With all the new wrestlers joining a secondary belt has been sanctioned. A tournament will take place to crown the first US champ. Groups: LEGION OF DOOM (Road Warriors & Mil Mascaras); UNDERDOGS (Virgil, Koko B. Ware & Johnny Valentine); MILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION (Ted DiBiase, Greg Valentine & Nikolai Volkoff); HEADLINERS (Killer Kowalski, Nick Bockwinkel & Harley Race); CAMP CORNETTE (Midnight Express & Cowboy Bob Orton); ALL AMERICANS (Killer Bees and Jim Duggan); TEAM EXTREME (Sandman, Sabu & Ox Baker); OLD SCHOOL (Frank Gotch, Don Leo Jonathan & Buddy Rogers); CAC (Red Bastien, Bobo Brazil & Jimmy Snuka); DREAM TEAM (Valiant Brothers & Brutus);

In a non-title match, Pomp & Circumstance shocked Road Warriors with a DQ win. Gorgeous George nearly pulled off a stunning upset in the early moments of the match after applying his finisher to Animal. Jimmy Snuka beat Buddy Rogers with the SUPERFLY LEAP. After winning the CAC and now this Snuka is undisputed top contender to the belt. He’ll never have a better chance to pull it off

Latest News:
The biggest news is the saga surrounding the Million Dollar belt. DiBiase has branded Virgil a common thief. He claims Virgil couldn’t win the belt through his own talents so had to resort to stealing it like the scum he is. Virgil has retorted that this is payback for all the years DiBiase mistreated him and paid him a pittance to do his dirty work. Whatever the motive behind it all the fans are going crazy for Virgil and the way he has humiliated Ted. The tournament to decide the first US champion took place over the last few cards. In a hardcore final Ox Baker beat self proclaimed ‘King of the Cage’ Killer Kowalski. His first challenge will come from Frank Gotch. Buddy Rogers is in hot water. Despite his protestations of innocence police have charged him for throwing a match against Greg Valentine in Buffalo after being paid off. The LWF has suspended Buddy Rogers indefinitely. DiBiase could be targeted too but the smart money suggests he is going to be let off after employing the finest lawyers money can buy. Jimmy Snuka’s bid to land Heavyweight belt perished at the hands of Greg Valentine. Snuka has announced he will reform Air Assault with Red Bastien and try to make a raid on the tag straps! There is a major feud between Jim Duggan and Iron Sheik erupting. They clashed as guests on the recent studio show as Iron Sheik got up Duggan’s nose by bad mouthing America and waving the Iranian flag. Duggan tried to rip the flag up and ended up trading blows. Tables and chairs went everywhere resulting in fines for both men. Duggan may have stumbled into the LWF with some unconvincing performances but he is desperate to put this right and defend America’s honour. Another newcomer, Dick Hutton, has come into the LWF and will be a temporary member of OLD SCHOOL. He and Frank Gotch will form an occasional tag team known as ‘The Grapplers’. They stand for technical wrestling all the way and are determined to show Team Extreme that old is better than hardcore no matter what the era is. Sabu says “Bring it on, well crush them!”

Ted DiBiase and Greg Valentine pulverized Virgil and Johnny Valentine in under a minute. In a tag debutants match, Midnight Express beat Killer Bees when Stan Lane pinned Brunzell following Jim Cornette’s interference. Don Leo Jonathan defeated Cowboy Bob Orton defying his great size to deliver a perfect cross body from the top rope
Valiant Brothers overcame Pomp & Circumstance when Jimmy pinned Gorgeous George. At one point Buddy Rose had sneaked a small bag of ‘Diet Powder’ in his trunks and tried to throw it in Jimmy’s face. The move backfired as Gorgeous George got a face full of it.
Card 38 – Pittsburgh Civic Arena:
(Mid-card Ted DiBiase challenged Virgil to put the Million Dollar Belt on the line at LEGENDS LIVE. Virgil refused to the raptures of the crowd. However, he said will consider giving him a shot if DiBiase can beat Johnny Valentine cleanly in a match)
US. Title match, Frank Gotch outwrestled Ox Baker winning with GOTCH TOEHOLD to become new champ. Determined to prove himself as a great champ Gotch has offered to put the belt on the line in his very next match. As the beaten finalist in the tournament Killer Kowalski will get the chance. Gotch is hoping violent brawling is no match for pure wrestling know-how
In a non-title match, Road Warriors fought to a battling win against Pomp & Circumstance. Despite being on the ropes for much of the match Hawk dodged a shoulder tackle by Buddy Rose. Before Rose knew what was happening he was being smashed with DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Once again Road Warriors heart in non-title bouts was being questioned
In a cage match, Killer Kowalski again got the better of Bobo Brazil after CLAW HOLD to stop Bobo’s hot run. The self proclaimed ‘King of the Cage’ is backing up his bragging

(Special vignette on studio show featured Bobo Brazil training hard on the very same night he lost to Harley Race determined to prep for his attempt to regain the Heavyweight belt. In stark contrast Greg Valentine was shown living it up in a local New York bar downing spirits with lots of beautiful women hanging off his arm)

Air Assault beat Midnight Express by count-out when Killer Bees came to ringside. Bobby Eaton, legal man in, started bickering with them outside the ring oblivious to the ref’s count being laid on
Nick Bockwinkel and Iron Sheik dominated Jim Duggan and Jim Brunzell. Bockwinkel softened Brunzell up and Iron Sheik finished him off with CAMEL CLUTCH
Nikolai Volkoff beat Koko B. Ware with the BACKBREAKER DROP. In a heinous attack Volkoff was joined by Greg Valentine in the ring. Under orders from Ted DiBiase they violently attacked Koko with a chair. Smashing it down on him over and over again. There was blood everywhere. Eventually Johnny Valentine and Virgil stormed the ring but the damage had been done and poor Koko was taken away on a stretcher
Mil Mascaras needed just 3 moves to beat The Sandman after an Octopus Hold.
Card 40 – LEGENDS LIVE – Madison Square Garden:
Heavyweight Title match, Bobo Brazil bounced back from his terrible run to regain the belt from Greg Valentine. With help from DiBiase’s interference, Valentine was able to survive an incredible series of COCO BUTT’s. He turned the tide of the match and had Bobo reeling but after several minutes of heavy punishment Bobo managed to summon strength to avoid a cross-body off the top and score the pin
Tag champs, Road Warriors swatted away the challenge of Pomp & Circumstance after nailing George with DOOMSDAY DEVICE. The Midnight Express again made a nuisance of themselves as they lurked at the back of the aisle whilst the match took place trying to spy on their potential opponents
Johnny Valentine overcame Ted DiBiase by count-out
Capt. Lou Albano beat Jim Cornette by count-out. Fuming out how Cornette had used dirty tactics during the match and even pulled his beard Albano continued the beatdown. He smashed Cornette with his own tennis racquet to the cheers of the crowd as they counted along with ten consecutive whacks. Cornette was out for the count and busted up pretty bad
The Grapplers beat Team Extreme (Sabu & The Sandman) after GOTCH TOEHOLD on The Sandman. The fans were amazed at the way pure old school wrestling was so effective
Bobby Eaton and Cowboy Bob Orton defeated Killer Bees by DQ when Blair slugged Jim Cornette outside the ring
Nick Bockwinkel beat Jim Duggan by DQ. Iron Sheik came to ringside waving the Iranian flag. Duggan was enraged grabbing his 2x4 to chase Iron Sheik out of the arena. The win means Bockwinkel has become the next challenger for the Heavyweight belt no matter who wins later tonight. He is probably the biggest star in the fed despite playing a heel turn and it is surprising that he hasn’t held a belt in the LWF
Mil Mascaras took an impressive win over Harley Race with a slingshot plancha.

Wow, Bobo Brazil is back ontop. He defied the odds to beat Greg Valentine despite heavy interference. Can he survive the next challenge which will come from Nick Bockwinkel? Many people think Bockwinkel is the top star in the fed and a title belt is long overdue. There is so much bad blood between the Underdogs and the Million Dollar Corporation.
