It is now official, Dallas eliminated Seattle tonight so VGK plays the Stars in the Western Conference Finals. Dallas went 3-0 against us this year but 2 of those 3 wins were by shootouts after still tied overtime periods so it was definitely not as onesided as 0-3 might indicate at first glance. Game 1 is Friday. Best of luck. That should be one hell of a series. |

Vegas I was really hoping for a Seattle vs Vegas matchup Zeke! For Seattle to get 1 game away from the Western Conf finals was pretty cool though. Took Dallas to 7 games and then a 2-1 loss in game 7.

I was hoping Seattle would pull it out so you could have a Vegas/Seattle final and be guaranteed of one team in the finals. This way Vegas can get revenge for Seattle.
You point of 0-3 not being lopsided reminded me of the 95 Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Western Conference finals between my Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks. We won 4 games to 1 but Chicago dominated most of the series. A few games we only led a few seconds at the end of the game or only when we scored in OT. Three of the five games went to OT and two of those went to double OT. We won our four games by one goal each and lost by three so for the five games we outscored Chicago by only ONE goal total.

I don't think Dallas has as much depth as Vegas and will be in real trouble if Jason Robertson doesn't find his scoring touch within the first couple of games. With that said, Vegas has to hope no one touches Joe Pavelski at a key moment (for those that may have forgotten the key moment that helped knock them out of the playoffs against San Jose in 2019). It will also be interesting to see what Peter DeBoer has to say facing Vegas again. Will he revert back to his San Jose days and call them a "bunch of clowns" again?

We were 0-3 against the Stars in the regular season, but that really does not matter now in the playoffs. Tonight, VGK in overtime got their first win of the year against Dallas and are now up 1-0 in the Western Conference Finals.  |

I am surprised it went to overtime at all. Dallas was flat for the most of the game and Oettinger was the only reason they stayed in it. Vegas had multiple chances to put the game away, only for Oettinger to come up with a big save. It looks like Dallas might be a better matchup against Vegas than I originally thought. I still expect Vegas will take the series though.
