Yea his numbers warrant it for sure. Also if u are going to put in Selig the guys who played in that era under a cloud of suspicion should be in

hopefully Tim Raines finally makes it in this year
I still don't understand why Edgar Martinez hasn't come close to being voted in. Edgar is one of the greatest designated hitters of all time (in fact each year the best DH gets the Edgar Martinez Award) and DH is an official baseball position whether some of the voters like it or not.
It sounds like Jeff Bagwell, Raines, and Trevor Hoffman might get voted in this year based on a report I read this morning.

I agree with you Vegas as Edgar Martinez definitely deserves to be in. One of the best pure hitters of his era. The Hall of Fame voting often delivers some puzzling results. Martinez, Raines and Hoffman should be locks this year. I'm not sure on Bagwell only because of the questions surrounding him but that is a hard decision to make.
I have been annoyed with the Baseball HOF for years as two of my all-time favorites, Gil Hodges and Keith Hernandez, may never make it in. Hodges was a great offensive 1B for the Brooklyn Dodgers during their great run in the 50's, and many of his teammates are in, and of course managed the 69' Miracle Mets to a World Series title. How that doesn't get him in the HOF is a mystery. Hernandez just may be the greatest defensive 1B of all-time not to mention an amazing clutch hitter and a huge reason for the 86' world champion Mets. I think the Hall voters look too much into compiled stats as opposed to the quality of the player. That's my two cents.

Early results look good for Raines.

Yes, indeed, and looks like Bonds and Clemens are starting to get some support.

Raines, Bagwell, and Rodriguez look to be the only ones that may get the nod this year. Everyone else will fall short.

Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines, and Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines, and Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. I think all 3 deserve it. I was also at least somewhat encouraged that Edgar Martinez's vote total rose up by 15% to 58% as he only has two years remaining on the ballot.
