ROH couldn't re-sign Kyle O'Reilly despite them giving him the world title and now Adam Cole is the first three time ROH World Champion. Gotta love a company willing to give the Bucks six figure deals and throw money to keep Silas fucking Young of all people around but they won't even make sure to get the guy they planned to give the world title to a contract.

Really unfortunate goings on with ROH lately, especially with the mess that TNA is. This COULD have been their time to solidify themselves as the #2 promotion. Disappointing to see all that's happened the last few months...First Elgin and now O'Reilly? Pretty soon the only way to see a decent ROH show will be to book one yourself with your cards!

Sounds like Kyle kinda punked out.
I like Kyle but he's not the right guy to be on top. Better to have the belt on Cole. But I will miss reDRagon.

KOR's not the only one they didn't re-sign. They might have gotten the others to renew but he was one of about five or six guys they had yet to re-sign as of 12/30.

Thing is, I can see there being an agreement that he gets the belt, he re-signs. I can't see them putting the strap on him otherwise. If so, shame on them for taking him on his word and shame on him if he broke it.

O'Reilly has bigger problems if he's such a belt mark that a title reign would be all that'd get him to stay.
Scuttlebutt is that Ray Rowe is also NXT-bound, as is Cole when his contract expires in May.

Talk is Cole may be going as well and Hanson is hoping to go with Rowe.

Scuttlebutt is that Ray Rowe is also NXT-bound, as is Cole when his contract expires in May. It's not a problem with the wrestlers, it's a problem with the promotion. They've offered guys TV title runs to get them to stay in the past. I realize now that my OP was a little poorly worded. Kyle's not a mark for the belt, but they did give him the title in hopes that it would be enough to get him to re-sign. They waited far too long to actually pull the trigger on him. A World Title reign with no real significant increase in what he was making was probably not a good enough offer. but hey, gotta make sure we do everything to prevent Silas Young from going to NXT!

I might be the only one but I've never been SUPER impressed with Kyle O'Reilly. I don't see how he was World Title material regardless of whether he was re-signing or not. Kind of dumb of ROH to try to use that to keep him in the fold though. They had better get aggressive in scouting new talent.
