Winners: The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene Anderson & Lars Anderson)
The program opens with a still-shot video package recapping the results from the “Retribution” PPV. Footage from the main event cage match is shown in black and white and digitalized a bit due to Kowalski’s graphic blood loss. Announcers Bill Mercer & Bobby “The Brain” Heenan welcome viewers from ringside and hype up the show. Mercer attempts to run down the card, but is rudely interrupted by RWF Tag Team Champions The Valiants and Captain Lou Albano making their way to ringside. Albano brags that his men retained their championships. Mercer reminds viewers that The Valiants lost via disqualification and have nothing to be proud of. Albano starts to get riled and asks Mercer who holds the gold. Mercer reads a statement from RWF officials. Due to the disqualification finishes of both the tag team championship bout and the tag team #1 contenders’ battle at “Retribution”, there will be two matches to determine the #1 contenders. Tonight, in the main event, The Road Warriors will take on The Killer Bees. Then, next week, the winners of that bout will battle Frank Gotch & The Destroyer for the right to take on The Valiants for the RWF Tag Team championships at the next PPV entitled “A Grand Arrival” on June 11th. Ever confident, Albano states that his men will be scouting all of the teams involved and will be fully prepared for June 11th regardless of what bums show up to challenge them. “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers vs. Nikolai Volkoff w/The Iron SheikMercer talks about Rogers looking to get back on track after losing a match-of-the-year contender to Harley Race last week. Rogers struts across the ring and slaps the Russian across the face. Volkoff avoids an uppercut and hoists up Rogers in a Russian Bear Hug. Rogers fights his way free. Volkoff connects with a double thrust to the throat and then chokes Rogers as The Iron Sheik cheers on his dastardly antics at ringside. Rogers rolls away from a legdrop and nails Volkoff with a series of dropkicks. Rogers locks on the figure four grapevine. The Iron Sheik climbs up onto the apron to protest, but Rogers sends him back to the ringside floor with a dropkick. Rogers quickly goes back to the figure four grapevine and Volkoff taps immediately. Winner: “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers
“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews RWF World Champion Nick Bockwinkel in the backstage area. Okerlund questions Bockwinkel about his victory in the hellacious cage match with Killer Kowalski. Bockwinkel responds that his physical and mental prowess are what keeps him in the upper echelon within the RWF. Before Bockwinkel can brag any further, #1 Contender Harley Race walks up and slaps a clipboard into the chest of the champion. “Sign it,” Race orders before walking away. Bockwinkel begins looking over the papers as Okerlund speculates that it must be a contract for a match at “A Grand Arrival” on June 11th. Bruiser Brody vs. Tony LeoneWhile Brody husses around the ring, Leone attacks him before the opening bell. Brody shoves him away a moment to gather his senses before landing a twisting vertical suplex. Brody flattens Leone with a big boot to the face and follows up with his jumping knee drop for the quick victory. Winner: Bruiser Brody
After the match, Brody grabs the microphone from the ring announcer. Brody calls King Kong Bundy a “pathetic, fat man” and challenges Bundy to meet him in the ring next week. Bill Mercer conducts an interview at ringside with Red Bastien. Mercer asks Bastien about the loss at “Retribution” and the attack after the bout. Bastien replies that if he had lost fair and square he wouldn’t have had a problem with it. Bastien starts unbuttoning his shirt and removing his dress pants as he reveals that rumors of his injuries have been largely exaggerated. The fans get behind him as Bastien challenges Gorgeous George to meet him in the ring right now. After several minutes George never appears. A mysterious voice suddenly bursts from the arena sound system and says “Bastien, shut your stinkin’ mouth!” Out walks onto the stage, microphone in hand, “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers. Somers states that he’s been waiting for RWF to roll through this territory so he could get some revenge on behalf of his former tag team partner “Playboy” Buddy Rose. Bastien climbs into the ring and motions for Somers to come on down. Red Bastien vs. “Pretty Boy” Doug SomersBastien attempts to start off fast with a series of forearms. Somers counters with a waistlock suplex followed by a backbreaker. Somers then executes his signature vertical suplex and floats over into a cover. Bastien powers out at two. Bastien fights his way out of a chinlock and ricochets off the ropes with a flying body press. Bastien lands an atomic drop, but Somers powers out of the pin attempt. Somers takes the brief advantage stunning Bastien with an elbow between the eyes. Bastien sinks on an abdominal stretch, but Somers manages to grab hold of the second rope. Moments later, Bastien leaps up with a flying head scissors and then nails another atomic drop for the pinfall. Winner: Red Bastien
“Mean” Gene Okerlund hypes up next week’s episode of “Wrestle Weekly” TV from Regina, Saskatchewan. Winners: The Valentines (Greg “The Hammer” Valentine & Johnny Valentine)
After the match, “Enter Sandman” starts to play in the area. The Valentines looked shocked and hastily make their way up the entrance ramp. Sabu, The Sheik, and Bobo Brazil walk out to cut them off. The Valentines stay in the ringside area as The Sandman makes his way through the crowd and then grabs a steel chair as a weapon. Valentines wait until Sandman jumps the rail and then jump the rail themselves and retreat through the crowd. Sandman points at them with the steel chair as he downs a beer and crushes the can on his forehead. Tag Team #1 Contenders Series The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) vs. The Killer Bees (Killer Bee #1 & Killer Bee #2)The announcers talk about the growing animosity between these two teams ever since The Bees were responsible for eliminating The Road Warriors at “Gold Rush.” Bee #1 avoids a knee smash and catches Hawk in an airplane spin. Bee #1 takes advantage of a dizzy Hawk and sinks on a Boston crab as Bee #2 prevents Animal from interfering. Hawk powers his way out of the submission attempt. Hawk, disgusted with himself, makes the defensive tag to Animal. Bee #2 soon tags in and leaps off the top rope. Animal catches him and turns it right into a powerslam. Hawk knocks Bee #1 off the apron, but Bee #2 manages to kick out. Animal looks for a big back body drop, but Bee #2 flips over onto his feet and tags his partner. Bee #1 kicks Animal in the midsection and shoot him to the ropes – Animal bounces off and levels him with a flying shoulder tackle. Hawk enters and takes out Bee #1 with a vertical suplex. The referee catches The Bees attempting to switch. An enraged Hawk tosses Bee #1 to the outside and nails a running clothesline off the apron. Back in the ring, Bee #1 avoids another knee smash and makes the hot tag to Bee #2. I love this fed!
I love the locality, the TV squash matches, the surprises like Doug Somers and Kenny Jay turning up and folks such as The Crusher and Art Thomas popping the crowd.
Really dig this format, and this is something I've always tried to do. TV wrestling at its finest!

A pretape promo airs from The Destroyer and Frank Gotch. Gotch cracks his knuckles and rolls his wrists in the background as Destroyer handles the talking. Destroyer talks about he and Gotch’s struggles in RWF earlier in the year and how they were able to reinvent themselves by forming a team in Japan. Destroyer states they have their sights set on the RWF Tag Team Championships and that they will back down to no tandem – not even the mighty Road Warriors. “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers vs. The Iron Sheik w/Nikolai VolkoffAnnouncers Bill Mercer and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan welcome viewers to the program as the participants make their way to the ring. Heenan contends that perhaps DiBiase and Bundy caught a late flight. Footage is shown from last week of The Sandman’s return. A pretape promo from The Sandman airs. Sandman angrily puffs on a cigarette as he warns The Valentines that he hasn’t forgotten about them, but he has something more important to attend to first. Sandman laughs as he promises to regain possession of his cane and introduce it to the Valentines. Bill Mercer conducts a ringside interview with Red Bastien who is dressed to compete. Bockwinkel produces the clipboard handed to him by Harley Race last week and states that his attorneys have had adequate time to read the contract and he is prepared to sign. Bockwinkel gets out an expensive pen from the pocket of his jacket and signs the contract on Okerlund’s back. Race enters into frame with a smirk and collects the clipboard. Okerlund hypes up the now official RWF World Championship bout for “A Grand Arrival” on June 11th. Johnny cuts his son off and assures him that he has a plan. Johnny puts his arm around Greg and continues talking as the pair walk off camera. Tag Team #1 Contenders Series The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) vs. The Destroyer & Frank GotchBefore the bell rings, RWF Tag Team Champions The Valiant Brothers and Captain Lou Albano walk onto the stage to scout their potential opponents for “A Grand Arrival.” Gotch and Animal start things off for their respective teams. Animal downs Gotch with a pair of his signature powerslams for consecutive nearfalls. Animal and Gotch fight out onto the apron where Gotch lands another Iowa backdrop on the edge of the ring. Gotch can’t muster a comeback and The Warriors nail him with a Doomsday Device. Destroyer breaks up the resulting pin attempt. The Warriors decapitate Gotch with another Doomsday Device, but Gotch dramatically gets the shoulder up. Gotch rolls to avoid a rushing Hawk and makes the hot tag to Destroyer. Destroyer sinks the intelligent sleeper hold on Hawk, but Animal jumps in and jumps Destroyer from behind.
