RWF presents “The Beginning”

Live on PPV from Matthews Arena in Boston, MA
The show opens with a video package set to “Glory Days” by Bruce Springsteen. Various clips are shown throughout wrestling history from the pioneer era through the boom in the late ‘90’s.
Announcers Bill Mercer and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan welcome viewers to the show. Mercer talks about Matthews Arena opening in 1910 and the fact that it is the oldest multi-purpose athletic building still in use in the world. Heenan pretends to fall asleep. Mercer runs down the card and then tosses it to ring announcer Howard Finkel for the first contest!
“Playboy” Buddy Rose & “The Walking Condominium” King Kong Bundy vs. Bobo Brazil & Red Bastien
• The big men in the match trade blows before Brazil shocks Bundy with a Bobo Body slam!
• Brazil quickly follows with his trademark Coco Butt and makes the cover. Bundy powers out at 2!
• Bastien in now and locks Bundy in the Boston crab. The Beantown crowd roars in approval!
• Bundy manages to tag in Rose. Rose hurts Bastien with a pair of gut wrench backbreakers, but then immediately tags out to Bundy.
• Later in the match, Brazil starts to gain some momentum against Rose before Rose cowardly tags out to Bundy yet again.
• Bundy gains the advantage on Bastien so Rose calls for the tag. Rose locks on his own version of the Boston crab to major heat!
• Bastien lays Rose out with a huge missile dropkick, but Rose manages to tag Bundy again.
• Brazil hits Bundy with another Coco Butt! Bundy now sports a crimson mask, but somehow kicks out at 2!
• Bastien nails Bundy with a series of signature flying dropkicks and makes the cover! Bundy is down!
Winners: Bobo Brazil & Red Bastien
Rose retreats to the floor as Brazil & Bastien get their arms raised over a bloody Bundy.
Giant Baba vs. “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase
• DiBiase dominates the action from the start, not afraid to take it right to the Japanese giant!
• DiBiase locks on the Million Dollar Dream on three separate occasions early in the match, but Baba breaks free each time!
• Baba scores nearfalls with a neckbreaker drop and a Baba chop. Both men look frustrated!
• DiBiase lands a top rope falling fistdrop and then locks on the Million Dollar Dream. Baba passes out!
Winner: “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase
The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) vs. The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff
• Volkoff attempts to sing the Russian national anthem before the contest, but The Road Warriors interrupt to make their entrance to the delight of the crowd.
• Hawk executes a gorilla press slam on Volkoff and goes for the win. Volkoff gets the shoulder up!
• The Road Warriors almost behead Volkoff with the Doomsday Device! Sheik jumps in quickly to break up the pinfall.
• The Road Warriors annihilate Volkoff with another Doomsday Device! Animal cuts off Sheik from interfering as Hawk gets the pinfall.
Winners: The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal)
The Road Warriors go around ringside slapping fans’ hands as Sheik angrily rants in the ring.
Harley Race vs. “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers
• Race works a headlock early on then scores a nearfall on Rogers after a pair of suplexes.
• Race goes for a running lariat, but Rogers dodges and then executes a piledriver!
• Rogers attempts a pin with his feet on the ropes, but Race scoots out to the floor where a wild brawl erupts!
• Race hits a piledriver of his own and goes for the win, but Rogers kicks out!
• A desperate Race climbs the turnbuckle and leaps off with a picture perfect cross body block for the win!
Winner: Harley Race
Mercer and Heenan recap action from the first half of the show during intermission.
Backstage “Mean” Gene Okerlund caught up with Bobo Brazil and Red Bastien asking them about their hard-fought victory in the opening contest. Bastien acknowledges the victory, but says it was a shame that they had to share the ring with a coward like Buddy Rose. Bastien states that Rose should be ashamed of himself for back peddling so much during the match and then thanks Brazil for being an honorable partner.
A video hyping Rewind Wrestling Federation’s TV show aired. The show debuts a week from tonight on January 8th!
The camera cuts to Nikolai Volkoff being attended to by doctors in the locker room as The Iron Sheik watches on. “Mean” Gene Okerlund attempts an interview with Sheik, but Sheik rants and raves nonsensically until Okerlund gives up and leaves.
The Sandman vs. Greg “The Hammer” Valentine
• The match never really got started as the action quickly spilled to the outside where Sandman attacks Valentine with a trashcan. The ref calls for the bell!
Winner: Greg Valentine by DQ
Sandman exited through the crowd chugging beers as Valentine angrily shakes the guardrail and challenges Sandman to return.
Gorgeous George (w/Cherie Dupre) vs. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka
• George stalls at the onset and orders Dupre to spray perfume in the general vicinity of Snuka.
• Snuka gains control early with a backbreaker and a flying headbutt.
• Dupre trips Snuka near the ropes allowing George to sink on the Gorgeous Grip!
• Snuka breaks free, but George regains control with a fingernail rake and an airplane spin.
• The action travels to the floor where Snuka sends a screaming George into the guardrail!
• Snuka throws George back in the ring and nails the Superfly Splash for the victory!
Winner: “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka
MAIN EVENT
Killer Kowalski, The Destroyer, & Frank Gotch vs. Nick Bockwinkel & The Valiant Brothers (Jimmy & Johnny)
• The crowd crazily cheers for Kowalski from the get go.
• The faces isolate Johnny early on. Destroyer lands a sensational suplex before Gotch tags in and cranks on Johnny’s neck with a headlock takeover. Kowalski enters and chokes Johnny on the ropes.
• Jimmy tags in, but is unable to get much offense going against Kowalski. Bockwinkel storms in and Kowalski surprises him with an overhead body slam! Bockwinkel bails to the floor where Kowalski catches him in the Claw Hold before tossing him back inside.
• Gotch in now and executes an Iowa Backdrop on Bockwinkel. Gotch sends Bockwinkel to the corner and charges, but Bockwinkel moves at the last second and rolls him up! Gotch kicks out at 1!
• The Valiant Brothers go to work on Gotch making frequent tags and choking him with the tag-rope.
• Bockwinkel enters again and locks on the Bockwinkel Sleeper! Gotch won’t give up!
• Bockwinkel chokes a weakened Gotch on the ropes and then delivers a bridging back suplex and holds it for the cover! Gotch can’t escape!
Winners: Nick Bockwinkel & The Valiant Brothers (Jimmy & Johnny)
After the match, Bockwinkel and The Valiants gloat to the cameras at ringside. Bockwinkel can be heard making fun of Kowalski for losing in Boston. Kowalski glares at Bockwinkel from the ring as the announcers hype up the January 8th debut of RWF’s television show. Thanks for watching!
