The Sudden Death era has kicked off in stellar fashion... Have to agree with Crimson Cross that it was really cool to see Renegade/Cannibal win the Most Improved award... And the Wrestling Observer segments are a really nice touch... Awesome work!

The Sudden Death era has kicked off in stellar fashion... Have to agree with Crimson Cross that it was really cool to see Renegade/Cannibal win the Most Improved award... And the Wrestling Observer segments are a really nice touch... Awesome work! I was looking at my old Invasion thread from years back and I had used the Observer for a bit and it was a popular part of my fed and so I decided to bring it back for Sudden Death. I was a huge fan of PWI growing up in the age of the territories and the two years I was in Germany, PWI was all the wrestling I got. Before he passed away, Dan Shockett was my favorite with his Off the Top Rope column. Yeah, I was a heel fan before being a heel fan was cool. The Observer also allows me to advance story lines without clogging up the shows themselves with segment after segment. That way, those who just want match results can skip the Observer reports and get much shorter read for the match results without having to wade through tons of promos to get there.

I really enjoy your Year End awards and one that is cool is Cannibal/Renegade, a character I really liked and underrated I think in the overall GWF... I remember my first time to play this era, I didn't really like Cannibal. I thought Renegade was a great name. But in this version, I appreciate the violence of Cannibal much more than I did in the 90s.

SATURDAY NIGHT INVASION JANUARY 9
ES: Ellner Shockett here with The Collector and the Interplanetary Tag Team Champions and 2093 Most Improved Wrestler of the Year!
CANNIBAL: Argh! Isn't it a pretty trophy?
Cannibal starts to gnaw on the trophy.
CANNIBAL: Tastes bland, though. Needs some serrano to spice it up!
ES: Either of yo could have won that trophy. Which shows who the true Manager of the Year was. Trainer Jim winning was highway robbery. Oh hell no! Someone get these idiots out of here!
Asylum bounces into the scene. Actually, Frenzy bounces into the scene. Psycho waddles in behind him, carrying a large bucket of chicken, gnawing on a chicken leg.
PSYCHO: I don't have any serrano. But I got some barbecue sauce!
FRENZY: Barbecue sauce! Yeah yeah! Barbecue sauce! Whoooo! Hee hee!
Psycho holds out a container of barbecue sauce. Chopper Mattock slaps it out of Psycho's hand. Sauce sprays all over Ellner Shockett's jacket!
ES: Man, that's just. Get these nutjobs out of here!
Security comes out and ushers Asylum away. Cannibal looks at the barbecue sauce on Shockett's jacket, shrugs, wipes the sauce with his trophy, and starts gnawing on the trophy again.
ES: Back to you, Rocket....
ROYAL OVERLORD VS TRAINER JIM The 2093 Manager of the Year scores the pin following JIM'S SLEDGEHAMMER. WINNER OF THE MATCH: TRAINER JIM
THE GUARDSMAN VS COMMANDER SAM Mayhem accompanies The Guardsman to ringside but does not interfere in the match. In fact, he spends the majority of his time belittling the slave. The Guardsman takes the win with the CRACKDOWN. Mayhem gets in the ring, slaps The Guardsman, gives Sam the DANGER ZONE, then slaps The Guardsman again. WINNER OF THE MATCH: THE GUARDSMAN
Backstage, Justice is ready to go after Mayhem but is held back by Galactic Punisher.
GP: Mayhem is mine!
THE MASKED ASSASSINS VS THE KING'S COURT King Lear and Killer Queen gave no quarter to their former partner. Queen made Death Masque (4 tokens) submit to the CHECKMATE. WINNERS OF THE MATCH: THE KING'S COURT
SECTARIAN VS MUTANT Sectarian was in control most of this match. Alas, it was an uncontrollable Mutant in the ring and he resorted to using a fork on Sectarian and the referee. WINNER OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A DISQUALIFICATION: SECTARIAN
ANIMAL PACK AND WOLF w/AMAZONIA VS THE ROYAL PALACE w/ROYAL OVERLORD The AniMen struggle to get it together tonight as the Overlord's men have an answer to everything they do. Including in the end, when Badger whips Bishop Hell into the turnbuckle and the Bishop bounces out f the corner with a Thesz press for the surprise 1-2-3. WINNERS OF THE MATCH: THE ROYAL PALACE
TITANPOWER w/TRAINER JIM VS TOMBSTONE w/MUTANT Krakan surprised people with the fluid teamwork he had with his new partner. Death's Head has obviously been training with the Hitman for Hire. However, when it appeared DH would finish off Lord Nexus with the FUNERAL MARCH, Billy Jo Boxer distracted the alien rookie and got Death's Head to chase him out of the ring and get himself counted out. WINNERS OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A COUNTOUT: TITANPOWER
THE ADVANCE GUARD w/THE COLLECTOR VS METEOR STORM As is his m.o., Cannibal got disqualified for using the +3 THROAT SLIT on Black Hole Bart. But then, Asylum hit the ring and gave Cannibal the PSYCHOTHERAPY as the show went off the air. WINNERS OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A DISQUALIFICATION: METEOR STORM

MONDAY NIGHT WAR GAMES JANUARY 11
TOMBSTONE AND SPLATTER w/MUTANT VS THE SAVAGE KINGDOM Darkos gets his revenge. The Head Assassin hits the ring and gives Terak the FINAL CURTAIN. The Savage KingdoM gets the win (Krakan had 4 tokens) but they pay the price to do so. WINNERS OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A DISQUALIFICATION: THE SAVAGE KINGDOM
THE GREEK GODS AND LANCE AT-LAS w/SOLARIS VS THE ROYAL PALACE w/ROYAL OVERLORD Bishop Hell makes the same error Death's Head made on Saturday, going after Protues outside the ring while Actagon was the legal man in the ring. And with the same result. WINNERS OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A COUNTOUT: THE GREEK GODS AND LANCE AT-LAS
ANIMAL PACK AND SOLDIER OF FORTUNE w/AMAZONIA VS THE MASKED ASSASSINS The Assassins continue to cause havoc, with Whiplash using his bullwhip on the AniMen. WINNERS OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A DISQUALIFICATION: ANIMAL PACK AND WOLF
THE TITAN EXPRESS w/TRAINER JIM VS THE KEEPERS OF THE STONE w/MAGNUS COLBY Finally! A match that ends with a pin! The Titans work over Rogue (4 tokens) and Dragonmaster gets the pin with the DRAGON DROP on Rogue. WINNERS OF THE MATCH: THE TITAN EXPRESS
THANTOS w/MAGNUS COLBY VS WOLF w/AMAZONIA The ref was more than strict with Wolf in particular in this match while seeming to allow Thantos to do whatever he wanted. Finally, when Wolf grabbed Magnus Colby outside the ring. The referee disqualified Wolf. An irate VX came to the ring, with Commissioner Carter on his heels. VX straight accused Colby of paying off another referee, fired the referee and then suspended Colby indefinitely. WINNER OF THE MATCH AS A RESULT OF A DISQUALIFICATION: THANTOS
DREADNAUGHT w/DOOMSAYER VS JUSTICE w/DESTRUCTION 3000 Dreadnaught must have taken Justice too lightly as the lawman was still fuming from what happened to Commander Sam on Saturday night at the hands of Mayhem. Dreadnaught does not get one offensive move in and falls to the +5 SHOCK PROBATION. WINNER OF THE MATCH: JUSTICE
THE NEW ORDER AND GALACTIC PUNISHER w/DESTRUCTION 3000 VS THE GLADIATORS AND MAYHEM w/THE GUARDSMAN Another tough battle that could have gone either way. Once again, though, Galactic Punisher (4 tokens) is on the losing end, this time to Mayhem's +5 LEAP OF DOOM. WINNERS OF THE MATCH: THE GLADIATORS AND MAYHEM
COAT OF ARMS w/OMEGA VS THE COSMIC FORCES w/DOOMSAYER An excellent main event match. The teamwork of the Galaxian Tag Team Champions gave Omega's sons fits before Star Warrior finally put Antimatter away with the +4 COSMIC BIG BANG. WINNERS OF THE MATCH: COAT OF ARMS

INJUNCTION FILED: SUSPENSION OVER-RULED Following the controversial decision to disqualify Wolf in his match against Thantos, VX fired referee Sam Hartline and suspended manager Magnus Colby indefinitely.
True to his word, however, Colby indeed hired the best lawyers money can buy and got the suspension lifted.
Hartline, however, remains terminated as Colby said "that's not my problem".
Due to inefficient evidence, it was ruled that there was not just cause to have Colby suspended.
But a warning was issued to Magnus Colby.
"If we ever, in the future, find solid evidence that Colby is paying off referees, criminal charges will be filed against him. His next fight in court won't be to stay in wrestling, but to stay out of jail."

SATURDAY NIGHT INVASION PREVIEW JANUARY 16
ASTRO TURK VS TRAINER JIM Jim wants to get more in ring action now that Krakan is placing Mutant at ringside during all SOD matches.
GHENGIS KHAN VS COMMANDER SAM Sam may be old but he still likes a good fight, especially against the likes of Khan.
ACTAGON VS ROYAL OVERLORD This looks like a simple tune-up for the Greek God.
TOMBSTONE VS THE SAVAGE ONES Another match, this time conventional tag, as Commissioner Carter has promised to fine or suspend the Assassins if they interfere in this match.
TITANPOWER AND QUASAR VS THE MASKED ASSASSINS Sudden Death will not keep the Assassins from battling the Titans.
ANIMAL PACK AND SOLDIER OF FORTUNE VS THE GLADIATORS AND MAYHEM The former Tongsoon gets his first taste of the bad blood between Aethrans and AniMen.
INTERPLANETARY TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH THE ADVANCE GUARD(C) VS REVOLUTION Following Revolution's win two weeks ago in a nontitle match. Commissioner Carter has granted King Lear and Killer Queen a title shot!
