Excalibur: Welcome back to UKW Best of the Best. I’m Excalibur and I’m joined by my new broadcast parter, Colt Cabana.
Cabana: It’s a new beginning here on Best of the Best, Excalibur. We have new tag team and women’s champions and a new I-pay-per-view coming up at the end of the month.
Excalibur: That’s right. Luck of the Draw will come our way on Friday, August 20th. It’s a lethal lottery style tag team tournament with the winners of the tournament earning a shot at the UKW Best of the Best Tag Team Titles.
Cabana: Speaking of tag teams, we’ve got a couple of great tag teams starting off the action here tonight. LONDRICK is looking to get tag team gold back around their waists while fan-favorite Double Platinum is looking to make a name against the former champs.
LONDRICK (Brian Kendrick & Paul London) vs. Double Platinum (Chris Bey & Suede Thompson)London gained an early near fall after Bey missed a turnbuckle charge. Both men ended up making a tag and the match continued back and forth. Both teams collected multiple near falls, but the match eventually broke down as London and Thompson brawled uncontrollably outside the ring. The ref tried to get them back into the ring, but when he couldn’t he counted both men out.Excalibur: That was a disappointing way to start out our show.
Cabana: The match was going so well too.
Excalibur: Our next match has me really excited.
Cabana: I didn’t know you dig thick chicks?
Excalibur: What in the world are you talking about?
Cabana: Faye Jackson is in our next match and I thought that was what excited you.
Excalibur: No, I’m excited to see her opponent, Xia Brookside in action.
Faye Jackson w/Stokely Hathaway vs. Xia BrooksideBrookside started out quick, but then ran into the power of Jackson. Jackson used her power on more than one occasioin to gain the advantage, but Brookside kept coming. Brookside rocked Jackson with a missile dropkick outside the ring and Jackson barely made it back into the ring to avoid being counted out. Brookside took advantage of Jackson’s dazed state and put her away with a BROOKSEY BOMB.(Amber Gertner is in the locker room with Cheerleader Melissa.)
Gertner: Melissa, congratualations on becoming the first ever UKW Best of the Best Women’s Champion.
Melissa: Thanks Amber. It’s great to be back in UKW and I look forward to holding this belt for a long time.
Gertner: Is there anyone you would like to face for your first title defense?
Melissa: I’ll take on all comers and that’s because there is no one on Best of the Best that can take this belt from me.
(Suddenly Melissa is blindside by Tessa Blanchard. Blanchard put the boots to Melissa before grabbing the mic from Gertner.)
Blanchard: No one can beat you? Looks like I just beat your ass, bitch! The next time I do it, I’m taking that belt.
Excalibur: Before the break, Tessa Blanchard attacked Cheerleader Melissa as she was being interviewed by Amber Gertner.
(REPLAY OF BLANCHARD’S ATTACK.)
Cabana: Tessa Blanchard is a tough girl, but she might be getting ahead of herself if she thinks Cheerleader Melissa is going to relinquish the belt that easily.
Excalibur: It will definitely be a fight when those two meet. Speaking of fights, I think we’re going to see another one in our next match.
Michael Elgin vs. Moose w/Stokely HathawayMoose gained the early advantage and after a couple of near falls put Elgin away with a SPEAR.(Moose is attacked by ‘Iron Man’ Mark Sterling after the match. Suddenly D’Lo Brown hit the ring and attacked Sterling. Elgin recovered and it was now a four man brawl. Several referees and security personnel poured from the back and were able to regain order.)
Excalibur: Fans, we’ve seen two sneak attacks here tonight and during the break Promoter Big Daddy Kanter informed me that he’s going to let everyone settle things next week.
Cabana: BDK has signed two big matches for next week. First, Michael Elgin and ‘Iron Man’ Mark Sterling team up to take on Moose and Stokely Hathaway’s new hand, D’Lo Brown.
Excalibur: D’Lo’s veteran presence coupled with Moose’s power and Hathaway has one formidable unit.
Cabana: BDK also signed a title match for next week as UKW Best of the Best Women’s Champion Cheerleader Melissa has her first title defense when she’s challenged by Tessa Blanchard.
Excalibur: Blanchard told Melissa earlier tonight that the next time they men, Blanchard would not only beat her ass, but take the belt as well. I guess we find out if she can stay true to her word next week.
The Tribe (Navajo Warrior & Hawaiian Lion) w/Olivia vs. STATIC (‘Uptown’ Andy Brown & ‘Young Fuego’ Adrian Quest)Both teams executed multiple tags in the early going of this hard fought, back and forth contest. The Tribe gained a couple of near falls before they caught Quest with RESERVATION DEVASTATION and Lion made the pin.Excalibur: Now that was a solid performance from both teams.
Cabana: STATIC definitely held their own against the more experienced Tribe, but The Tribe was not to be denied.
Excalibur: Earlier tonight Tessa Blanchard earned herself a title shot, but right now she needs to focus on her dangerous opponent, Jordynne Grace.
Cabana: I’m not sure Tessa so much earned a shot as Cheerleader Melissa agreed to put her title on the line in order to get her hands on Blanchard.
Tessa Blanchard vs. Jordynne GraceThis was a wild brawl from the outset as both women fought inside and outside the ring. Blanchard eventually gained the advantage and put Grace away with a trapped leg Codebreaker.Excalibur: Blanchard looks primed for her title shot next week.
Cabana: Tessa won the match, but let’s give Jordynne Grace some credit. She gave Blanchard a run for her money.
At The Desk w/Dave MarquezMarquez: Please welcome my guest UKW Best of the Best Champion Adam Pearce.
(The fans cheer wildly as Pearce makes his way to the interview desk.)
Welcome to the desk champ.
Pearce: Thanks for having me. It’s an honor to be your first guest.
Marquez: Earlier tonight, it was announced the next I-pay-per-view is Luck of the Draw and in addition to the tag team tournament, you will be defending your title against Keith Lee. Now you have been a dominant champion, but Keith Lee has been red hot. If anyone can beat you, he’s poised to do it.
Pearce: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What the hell do you think you’re talking about? All I’ve done since winning this belt is taking on the best of the best, no pun intended. Keith Lee is no different. He is one of the best this division has to offer, no doubt, but he’s not the champ. And he won’t be the champ as long as I have this belt around my waist.
Marquez: No surprise that ‘Scrap Iron’ Adam Pearce is as confident as ever. Keith Lee will definitely have to work if he wants to take the belt from the champ at Luck of the Draw. We’ll be right back.
Excalibur: Keith Lee gets his shot at the UKW Best of the Best Title at Luck of the Draw, but the two men in our main event would love to get their shot as well.
Cabana: PP3 has Shaun Ricker primed for a title run, but Drew Galloway is chomping at the bit to get his shot as well. This next match should be a doozy.
Shaun Ricker w/Percy Pringle III vs. Drew GallowayRicker had the early advantage, but Galloway battled back. The action continued back and forth until Galloway delivered a DOUBLE ARM DDT. PP3 jumped up on the apron and distracted the ref. Galloway grabbed Pringle by the lapels and looked as if he was going to deck the manager, but Ricker recovered and rushed over. Galloway moved out of the way at the last moment and Ricker collided with Pringle, allowing Galloway to roll Ricker up for the pin.Excalibur: Percy Pringle III’s interference certainly backfired there.
Cabana: Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t payoff. That time it didn’t payoff.
Excalibur: Well said. Colt, it’s been a pleasure broadcasting with you. I look forward to doing it again next week and beyond. I hope everyone enjoyed our show. We’ll talk to you next week.
